It’s that time again, welcome back, everyone, to another year of the LOC! And, as the ancient Chinese proverb states, ‘say it on a live podcast, and it must be fulfilled’, so here we have a full set of on-time power rankings. We’ll hit these in reverse order, as always, but the post-draft edition is inevitably a bit of a 52-card pickup system for rankings, particularly when everyone decides to selfishly draft quite sensibly. I’m going for an organic best pick / worst pick system, and seeing where the flow takes me so, without delaying any further, lets see if it comes out in the wash.

1. Bear Necessities

Favourite Pick: Michael Pittman​​Least Favourite Pick: David Montgomery

Every year, one team seems to end up with a lot of my draft day avoid list. Usually, that is nothing but a good omen for the season ahead, but this team does feel chocked full of aging veterans, some of whom are almost certainly past their fantasy prime. I’m less worried about Pittman’s targets than most (check the pre-injury data from last year, he’ll be fine) and I thin Brian Robinson was a great pick too, but this team screams TD reliance to me.

1. IKSAN

Favourite Pick: Chris Godwin​​​Least Favourite Pick: Dak Prescott

The Dak Prescott pick has been talked about a lot already, and that is completely justified. It was the biggest shock of the draft, and he will need a repeat of last season to not make this look bad. As a result of that, we have Zamir White and George Pickens starting in week 1. Far from terrible, but probably not striking fear into Forge Flyers. Chris Godwin is not a sexy favourite pick, but until Hollywood Brown is fit again, he is the only player I’d be confident in relieving any of the starters, should they stutter.

Favourite Pick: Ja’Marr Chase ​​Least Favourite Pick: Alvin Kamara

First instinct is this isn’t my favourite team. After promising to go light on the RBs, we ended up with 3 in the first 4 rounds, finishing with the tremendously underwhelming Kamara. Don’t get me wrong, decent player, slightly past his best and in a mediocre offense, but still decent. It was more the build up in the room, including the not so subtly implied sexual stimulation, at the fact Alvin Kamara was still available in the 4th (at least a round or two earlier than I would have even considered him). Maybe that’s just me. Chase was amazing value, and so was Jordan Love, they save the team for me.

1. The Dream Team

Favourite (autodraft) Pick: Lamar Jackson​Least Favourite (autodraft) Pick: Najee Harris

It’s always the same with autodraft, you get some great value from inexplicable fallers, and then you find out you have glaring holes elsewhere. Lamar was great value, Davante could be a steal, and the WR room in general is loaded. But,then you notice that Najee is not in a RB room as such, more of a cubicle. And not a big, fancy, disable-access cubicle, very much a ‘can’t-swing-a-cat’ sized cubicle, with no floor (fantasy football points floor, that is).

1. Oakland Bears

Favourite Pick: Dalton Kincaid​ ​Least Favourite Pick: Jonathon Brooks

Firstly, welcome to the league Freddy. Secondly, fair warning, and you’ll pick this up fairly early on anyway, but these rankings are rarely even half right, so take them with a pinch of salt. Anyway, back to the team, which is pretty well balanced, even with the spattering of autodraft randomers at the end. I like the Richardson pick, although pairing with Taylor could cap both. And I think Kincaid was a sneaky great pick as a potential target hoover for Josh Allen. Brooks could prove me wrong, but he felt early with the injury and the team he will be playing for.

Favourite Pick: AI artwork Nick Chubb​Least Favourite Pick: Rhamondre Stevenson

First and foremost, I would like to raise a glass to a coach who decided to put a stop to a long and tumultuous ride with autodraft. And, the team looks decent as a result. A few bad offense RBs have me a little concerned, but there is some good volume in play. I really like the Chubb pick, although Jerome Ford would have been a nice compliment. I think Burrow, Jefferson, Aiyuk, and St. Etienne, form one of the highest upside player cores in the league.

Favourite Pick: Jaxon Smith-Njigba​Least Favourite Pick: Stephon Diggs

The team with Patrick Mahomes is always going to be one you don’t want to face on any given week and, paired with Bijan and Jacobs, I think this team carries a high weekly floor. There’s not much continuity on this roster though, and we won’t really know the upside until roles become more defined. I am fairly confident that Smith-Njigba will be starting over Diggs by week 3, and is an early pick for steal of the draft.

Favourite Pick: Jayden Daniels​​Least Favourite Pick: Aaron Jones

Let’s not beat around the bush, this team is probably going to ride or die on the back of Daniels. The value was great, but if he can’t replicate his Heisman form, a season of waiver surfing could pursue. This definitely felt like a value-based draft, with Tee Higgins and Amon-Ra being particularly notable, but some picks could lack the upside for a deep playoff run, looking at Jones and Zach Moss in particular.

Favourite Pick: Mark Andrews​​Least Favourite Pick: De’Von Achane

A hard team to pick my least favourite player from, which you can only imagine is a good sign. They’re relying on Miami being just as explosive, without even owning their most explosive player, so there is some massive boom / bust risk. I thought the Andrews pick was great value though, and the high upside bench should mean this team gets stronger as the season goes on. Respect must be paid to landing Tua so late, he could make the draft strategy look genius. Could.

Favourite Pick: Rico Dowdle​​Least Favourite Pick:Deebo Samuel

I couldn’t put Taysom Hill as my favourite pick for two reasons. Firstly, I don’t need to hear anymore about what a fantasy legend Taysom Hill is and, secondly, he simply isn’t. That being said, plenty of good picks to choose from here, and I do appreciate the late round RB additions looking for sneaky backfield leaders. Collins and Deebo weren’t my favourite value picks, I feel both their target volumes could be unreliable week-to-week, but that’s not to say that this isn’t a strong team.

1. Wren Kitchens

Favourite Pick: Terry McLaurin​ ​Least Favourite Pick: Malik Nabers

I’m going to skip the low hanging fruit (homer QB2 pick, confirmed misogynist pick) and focus on the rest of the team, which is pretty handily put together. I don’t love the value on Nabers, but he is going to get targets, and the early season prominence of the Hubbard / Ford combo will give him time to get set. Other middle round picks like McLaurin and Rice profile to be solid and consistent contributors which, paired with the anchors of Hurts and McCaffrey, could mean a high weekly ceiling.

1. Great Scott

Favourite Pick: Cooper Kupp​​Least Favourite Pick:Javonte Williams

I’m splitting hairs on the least favourite pick here. I think Williams probably ends up too RBBC to be a reliable starter, but he was drafted late with that risk built in. This one went under the radar for me on draft day, but I think the starting lineup is great. Kupp was one of my favourite draft day targets, and I think Evans and Hall were great values. Murray could be special, if he stays fit, and the bench is laden with upside, particularly Worthy and Reed.

There we have it; the first rankings of the season are in the books. And, unlike other LOC media, I won’t be selling my soul with non-league material. These rankings are LOC only. Have a great season, good luck to all.

Fuck this game. That’s your power rankings this week, goodbye everyone. Oh, I’m contractually obliged to write these? Ugh, fine then. A season injury didn’t have potentially a season altering effect to the playoffs for just one team this week, oh no in fact it impacted two teams. If you couldn’t tell, mine being one of them - happy fucking birthday to me. Anyway it’s week 14 blah blah blah some shit about playoffs nearly here and a race, let’s get on with it.

1. Bear Necessities (3-10) - down 3: If I was an authoritarian commissioner this team would already be a draft pick or two lighter in next years draft - you have the committee to thank for this team retaining all its draft picks. The team isn’t bad, I’d actually go so far as to say the whole roster is on balance good - but no management leaves them as a rudderless ghost ship with a 9 game losing streak - you can bet they’ll be starting brown on a bye this week, so they’re bottom of the pile for me.

2. Tom’s Tyrants (4-9) - no change: It was a bold and understandable call to bench Kupp last week, and whilst it was ultimately not the right decision it wouldn’t have changed much as the struggles this team face go far beyond that. Thin on talent with their best players across the season now sputtering and banged up, Coach Barnes will be glad it is week 14 to say the least, as this team would probably only just out score the Patriots (they’d still beat them, of course).

3. Art Attack (4-9) - up 2: TE FC puts up another decent performance despite the losses they’ve suffered of late, but their wings are still clipped and they are heavily reliant on Prescott. Higgins return was a positive one, but his impact is going to be minimal with Browning at the helm. They have one more chance to play berserker in week 14, but for as good as the tight ends they possess are, they just don’t carry the same threat as much of the players on other teams across the league.

4. Forge Flyers (5-8) - down 3: Coach Leach has been on a nice little run of late, but facing a team lower then them on this week spares their blushes last week. I will caution injury was partly to blame for a bad outing, as well as a rare bad showing from the cowboys D. They should bounce back, but they’ll do so without Stevenson and a Ridley now facing an immediate future without Lawrence. Those 2 have been a part of the resurgence they’ve had over the last month, so their absence is enough to drop this team a few spots.

5. IKSAN (7-6) - down 1: Brutal. Just brutal. Coach Sherwood has been a must win merchant this year, avoiding losses to keep their playoff hopes alive time after time. They were in position to potentially do it again last week, but an injury to Christian Kirk on MNF robbed them of that, and barring something truly spectacular their playoff hopes are all but dead. The fact they’ve been in a position to need multiple must win games sort of tells you what you need to know however - this team is just ok with Evans being the only shining star, Mahomes and Ekeler have been dim stars, and beyond that are just complimentary pieces.

6. Buccing The Trend (3-10) - up 3: Coach Taylor’s side moves up from a combination of them looking a little better, and others heading in the other direction. Miraculously no longer stand-alone last place, they could actually find themselves not even finishing in the bottom 3. They need Tua to actually score some TDs in a given week, but they have a couple of complimentary pieces to go with volume hogs Barkley and Jacobs - if they can do anything with that volume this isn’t the worst team by a long stretch. Perhaps they can finish on a high after what has been quite a rough year.

7. Great Scott (8-5) - down 1: There isn’t necessarily a great deal between a lot of the playoff teams at the moment, but Coach Scott finds themselves beneath the others for now. Much of this is tied to Lawrence, whose renaissance over the last 3 weeks has unsurprisingly coincided with a renaissance for Great Scott. But with his injury the outlook is murkier - Achane popped off last week too, but this creates a difficult decision for the coach - one if he gets right will be great, but if he doesn’t could be underwhelming. Between that there are other good options on this team firmly giving them a shot at a debut playoff berth and perhaps a playoff win.

8. U R Gould (10-3) - up 3: Ok, after last week I can no longer keep this team down - whilst it was a brilliant week and the new highest scoring week of the year, they are still only 5th highest in terms of points scored. But at this stage of the year recent form is obviously far more important, and they are arguably gaining steam. Purdy has been a revelation, brown a stalwart, whilst even Metcalf and pollard are starting to heat up. Connor and La Porta have recaptured their form, so the starting lineup has really come together. If they continue in that fashion then this ranking is too low, but I don’t want to fall into the trap of it just being a few good weeks for them. Oh and by the way - they’re the first team to officially clinch and have a shot at the regular season title.

9. Patistan (9-4) - down 1: Coach Allen lost the smack down in the Southampton division matchup last week, but they’re at a crossroads because they both still have the number 1 seed available to them, whilst also being capable of missing out on playoffs entirely. Truth be told this team is at a bit of a crossroads as well. Goff and Stroud have both petered out a bit of late, and now they’ve potentially lost another Seahawks RB for a time. They are getting JJ back, but only time will tell what that means with the current crop of Vikings QBs. On balance though this is still a very good team capable of beating any team on its day.

10. Burdettinators (8-5) - up 1: An absolutely clutch win by Coach Burdett last week, with the decision to start Collins over Johnson being a pivotal reason for the W. All their playoff options are still on the table as a result, and this team has found its footing again. I don’t think the upside is necessarily there for this team like it is for others, but the floor sure as hell is. Williams and Hurts are the star power for them, and the Dell injury entrenches Collins as a good starter too. They then have multiple different players they can call upon, which allows them to play the matchups - which is surprisingly not something a lot of teams can say in the league this year.

11. The Dream Team (9-4) - no change: Coach Nathwani didn’t blink in the second of his crucial divisional games, picking up a win that brings them one step closer to playoffs. They are a win and in scenario - but if they lose it becomes very murky, because there is still a path to them not achieving a playoff berth. That would be a great shame, as this is such an exciting team - but they are worryingly seemingly becoming more top heavy as the season goes on. Relying on Hill and Lamb is no bad thing, and the players around them like Herbert, Hall, Etienne, Warren, and the bench options can all pop up…but you wouldn’t want to count on them to do so. That could be this teams undoing - or equally, it might be why they win it all.

12. Gridiron Gang (8-5) - no change: A win for my team last week would have clinched the division and allowed me to play for the regular season title this week. Alas, Dell’s injury cost me not only the win, but could very well be the difference between me getting a bye. Whilst I haven’t officially clinched, due to my points forward I’ve virtually made playoffs. Dell’s injury is a huge blow as he has been a WR1 this season, but this team’s strength is its powerhouse running backs (ironically adding moss cost me the win last week as well - go figure). Waddle is a capable enough starter, and the final flex spot can be held down by one of a few (though it’s likely to be Taysom time, who is arguably yet another RB for my team). Allen may well have made the difference last week too if he weren’t on bye, but he remains a strength of this team.

I never thought I’d be so fuming about playoff seeding (given that I’m virtually guaranteed to make playoffs), but man I wanted that bye and man I wanted that shot at the regular season title. Anyway - let’s all enjoy week 14 as it’ll be the last meaningful games for all of us before we turn our focus to the lucky few - good luck everybody!

2 games to go folks - TWO! We had yet another riveting week of LOC and NFL football alike in Thanksgiving week, and I have had enough pumpkin pie to put me off it until next Thanksgiving. The Playoff race is white hot now as well with 7 teams still in firm contention - what does the Commish make of all this? Read on to find out…

1. Art Attack (4-8) - down 5: And thus ends the berserker Coach Nunn side of the 2023 LOC season. Losing Andrews was a blow, but losing Taylor for the rest of the regular season is a death knell. It’s unclear when/if Higgins will return, so this leaves Prescott as the lone reliable player on this team, supported by Kittle, Diggs and Kelce. Freiermuth looks like he’ll be another nice helping piece, but this team is back to a low floor and a capped ceiling. To add salt to the wound, they were officially eliminated from contending for the division last week.

2. Tom’s Tyrants (4-8) - up 1: And my birthday gift to you Coach Barnes is lifting you off the bottom (definitely because of your teams progress and not another falling beneath you). With Love’s recent play QB may not be an issue for this team, but he is inconsistent. Beyond that only Allen, Cook and Robinson are consistent contributors - with the latter two not necessarily setting the world on fire. Kupp hasn’t given this team the shot in the arm it needed, and there’s not much else exciting here. Will Reich’s firing help Thielen? Perhaps - perhaps not. Either way, it’s not going to substantially help this team.

3. Buccing The Trend (2-10) - no change: I don’t really know what to write about this team that I haven’t already said. They are what they are. Tua is on an offence that is one of the best in the NFL, but the TDs seem to flow heavily through the run game vs the passing game. The rest of the team is ok contributors - so the ceiling isn’t too high here and the floor is hovering above sea level. Long since eliminated from traditional playoff contention, the chances of them avoiding the tied worst LOC season in history are on the wrong side of questionable.

4. Bear Necessities (3-9) - down 3: It’s just been one of those years for Coach Stubbs Sr, not helped by a laissez faire style that would even be a bit too far for Coach Nunn. Now owners of an 8 game losing streak (yikes), I retract my previous statement that they are likely to pick up a win or two to close the year, as they just find ways to lose games. Brown hasn’t benefitted from Murray’s return, and Puka has clearly taken a step back since Kupp returning (not helped by his health). Only Bijan and Deebo are solid options here - Lamar is boom or bust.

5. U R Gould (9-3) - no change: Coach Gardner-Beddoes missed a golden opportunity to clinch a playoff spot last week (granted they are still likely to do so). To make matters worse, the team’s output was putrid, and even if their point repellant powers were active they’d have probably still lost. The team is thin, with Brown being the only great option at their disposal. Everything else is middling. Purdy is a good QB to have, but he’s going to have games like last week where he only throws the 1 TD. To quote the Co-host on the podcast, if this team does make it to playoffs they will likely be found out quickly.

6. IKSAN (7-5) - up 4: Now on paper this team is up 4, but it’s more about what has fallen behind them as opposed to who they have overtaken. A solid week last week yes, but this team still feels like it’s on shaky ground. It’s a bit of a rag tag bunch - a bunch that is certainly capable of having nice days, but you kind of have to hold your breath. Evans leads the way, Sutton is a bright spot too, and Kirk and Ekeler can chip in - beyond that it’s a gaggle of streamers. I think we’re running out of time for Mahomes to change what he (or more aptly, his receivers) has been for much of this season - but of course if anyone can, it’s him.

7. Forge Flyers (4-8) - up 3: I think Coach Leach has his mojo back, and he’s officially picked up the mantle from Coach Nunn for berserker team down the stretch. Downing the number 1 seed last week in impressive fashion, they’re going to end the year on a positive note. They’re getting production out of the QB room, Henry and Stevenson are a serviceable core, Aiyuk has been great, Ridley has finally got going, and then they’re finding production from their 5th streamer each week. We can’t overlook the Cowboys D on this team as well, who have been by far and away the highest scoring D this year. Hide your women and children, this team is pillaging.

8. Great Scott (7-5) - down 2: big big win against the division leading Dream Team last week, which was an absolute must win game to keep Coach Scott’s divisional and traditional wildcard playoff hopes alive. And their reward - a 2 ranking drop in the power rankings. This is a combination of some other teams outlook perhaps looking a bit better, and some doubt I have on this team. Lawrence’s resurgence has been big for this team the last couple of weeks - we hope it’s here to stay but you can’t take it for granted. They still have a very good starting lineup, but I just can’t shake the feeling that in a given week 1-2 of them will let him down. The lineup is Chase, st brown, mostert, white and Gibbs. Why am I keying on this so much? Because there is nothing on the bench other than fellow Miami running backs, who at best are like for like to other playoffs in the lineup, or at worst muddy the picture. It’s definitely still a dangerous team, but I think they could be quite volatile.

9. Burdettinators (7-5) - up 1: huge win for Coach Burdett last week, overcoming a 40 point deficit, and effectively keeping their divisional and traditional wild card playoff hopes alive. Hurts is a stud, and Williams return to the team has come at the absolute perfect time. The rest of this team is a bunch of solid options top to bottom, having that flexibility week in week out is a great thing to have. Now the star power of this team is still lacking and that prevents them from really going much higher here, but they can be consistently very good to close the season, and that’s nothing to sniff at in the unpredictable fantasy game we play.

10. Patistan (9-3) - up 1: lots of big wins around the LOC last week, for Coach Allen it rescinded his lead of thr Southampton division and ownership of the number 1 seed. Great QB room, and a roster of great options to turn to each week. Similar to Burdettinators, I don’t think any of them are necessarily elite, but they’re all very good. What does really boost this team though (and this is the reason they’re above the 2 teams below them) is that Justin Jefferson is returning. Now, of course we don’t know what he’ll look like with Dobbs, and he may not coming flying out the gate, but the potential impact he could have on this team here could be season defining.

11. The Dream Team (8-4) - down 1: As it transpired Coach Nathwani wouldn’t have officially clinched with a win last week - and to make matters worse do now face some competition again for the division after a loss. Further to this, are there some small cracks starting to emerge in what has been a brilliant team? They remain flashy, with a very high ceiling on their boom and bust roster (though the bust floor is fairly high still). But I’m just scanning down here, could Herbert start to have some wobbles down the stretch? What’s going on with Etienne lately? It was hard to envision the jets offence getting worse, but it has and this is affecting hall. Warren finally made a start for them, but Najee has had a resurgence and a coordinator change perhaps muddies the picture. All of these players are still capable of blow up performances, but suddenly the bench is looking more unpredictable as well. It’s a solid group, but a tough one to predict which player will turn up in a given week. I’d be absolutely shocked if they didn’t make the playoffs still, but maybe just maybe, they’re not the world beaters they have been for much of the season.

12. Gridiron Gang (8-4) - up 1: I could no longer keep my team from jumping up to 1. Now the highest scoring team by 145 points, coming off the highest scoring week of the season, my team is in very good stead. The RB room may be the best in the league, and now has the addition of Zack Moss who for most teams would slide in as a starter but for mine is a luxury depth piece. This may be only a short term impact, but there are other solid players to round out the roster as well. The knocks are Cooper who is in flux in the wake of the Watson injury, but Walker or Flacco may aid that situation. The Lockett trade has been ok but he remains inconsistent, and hill is a nice depth piece but as we know, unpredictable.

And there you go, quite a lot of change this week as we enter the crucial period of the LOC season. We have 7 teams with 7+ wins currently, which is not a common occurrence. This week we may start to see teams clinching depending on what results happen, and there are some mouthwatering playoff race changing matchups on the docket too. Buckle in everyone, it’s about to get bumpy!

Happy Thanksgiving! The Thanksgiving edition of the Power Rankings is here, and we have a bountiful week of NFL and LOC football for you. 3 games on the day itself and the first ever Black Friday game to go with the normal LOC slate. We're only 3 games from the LOC Playoffs too, and the playoff picture is getting spicy folks - with more teams now being officially eliminated from contention in the traditional wildcard and division race. Will we get a correspondingly spicy power rankings to match? Read on to find out.

1. Tom's Tyrants (4-7) - no change: Fantasy is give and take - though it is rarely even in that regard, giving some teams more, and taking more from others. It has certainly taken from Coach Barnes over the last week. Losing Burrow for the season, now Kupp is banged up, Wilson might somehow have a QB downgrade, and outside of Allen, Cook and Robinson the team is pretty barren. On the plus side, Coach Barnes can enjoy his birthday and the Thanksgiving turkey whilst turning his focus to next season. This is one of the teams officially eliminated from the division and traditional wildcard.

2. IKSAN (6-5) - down 4: After winning 2 crucial games the floor fell out from Coach Sherwood's team at the worst possible time. To make matters worse, Jones is injured (again) - albeit seems to have avoided severe injury. Ekeler however looks more and more like he's running with a piano on his back. His current line-up as of writing features Mattison and Watson - neither of which should be anywhere near a playoff teams starting line-up this season. On top of that, Mahomes is being let down by his receivers and it's killing both the Chiefs and IKSAN. This team is 2 games behind in the traditional wildcard and the division - but IKSAN face a severe points shortage in comparison to much of the other playoff teams, so it will be hard to turn it around from here.

3. Buccing The Trend (2-9) - up 1: Heyyy ohhhh! Now that's what we call in the fantasy business positive fantasy regression! Coach Taylor didn't concede an obscene amount of points for once, and put in a solid performance as they have done on multiple occasions this year. Whilst long since eliminated from the traditional wildcard and division, with a win last week they stave off setting a new record for the worst start to an LOC season, and can now at worst tie the worst seasonal record. Look, it's still not a stellar roster, but Barkley proved he can still pop up (which I didn't think he could at this point in the Giants season) - Jacobs may be able to do the same, and others on this roster can pop up too. They may yet win a game or 2 more to close the season.

4. Forge Flyers (3-8) - up 1: What happened last week? Another team with an upset win last week - and in fine fashion! Don't expect the score line to be repeated again, but they could certainly be a berserker team over the last 3 weeks here. Another team now officially eliminated from the traditional wildcard and division, Coach Leach is freewheeling as I predicted - the QB room is rebuilt, the Hunt trade provides another usable option, and he's got players certainly capable of having a nice day. Let's see if last week was a flash in the pan or the beginning of a trend.

5. U R Gould (9-2) - no change: The new #1 seed checks in at 8 without moving. They also hold the longest active win streak in the LOC with 5. And they (checks notes) still have the fewest points conceded in the league, to go with the 6th most scored. Yes yes, I acknowledge the fear factor. You know what else? This team is 1 win, or losses from certain other teams, away from guaranteeing a playoff berth. But I'm not going out on a limb saying this is probably the weakest amongst the playoff seeded teams. Purdy has been playing well and they have Fields in the wings, but beyond Brown there is no reliable skill position - that's not to say there's some useful players here - but you don't want 4 just "useful" players week in week out. Still, once you get to the dance, anything can happen...

6. Lazy Townsend (4-7) - up 2: See, seeeee! I've been in on the berserker coach Nunn side for weeks now, and it came through with a nice win last week. Unfortunately they lost Andrews along the way, and Higgins no longer has Burrow - but hey, 4 of the 5 skill positions are still really good, to go with a Dak Prescott who has been really good of late. There's enough here for them to reliably compete down the stretch, and believe it or not they're mathematically still alive for the division (but not the traditional wildcard). Let's see what Coach Nunn has in store for us over the last few weeks.

7. Bear Necessities (3-8) - no change: Still the owners of the longest losing streak in the LOC, a number that now stands at 7, they were hard done by not breaking that streak last week - all while playing a bye week player. It's a great shame, this certainly has the look of the team that should be firmly in the playoff hunt, yet they're eliminated from the division and traditional wildcard, and are not realistically in the race for the points forward wildcard either. Depending how much they tinker with the team will dictate their effectiveness to close the year, but they should at the very least be competitive, and it would be mildly surprising if they ended the year with a ten game losing streak.

8. Burdettinators (6-5) - no change: Coach Burdett has quietly dropped 4 of his last 5 games, also 5 in the last 7, after a white hot 4-0 start. No one can be surprised with the raft of injuries they've suffered - and in all honestly, they've been a little unfortunate in their opposition in a lot of the games they've played as well. Looking at the team, it all rests on Hurts, Swift and Ford. There's a lot of complimentary options to go along with them, but they've not been contributing a good deal for Coach Burdett of late. At 6-5 however they are still firmly entrenched in the playoff race, and sit a mere 37 points out of a playoff spot - which isn't much over 3 games.

9. Patistan (8-3) - down 1: Coach Allen drops their first game in 3 weeks at an inopportune time, losing grip of the division - but still finding themselves in the wildcard spot with a 2 game buffer. Another team where it's very hard to see them not making it at this point. A slight knock down here due to losing Walker for some period of time, and with it looking like Jefferson's return won't come until at least week 14. Fortunately they have Charbonnet (which actually with the heightened workload might be an upgrade over Walker). They could be deadly come the playoffs.

10. Great Scott (6-5) - up 1: Another one of the playoff hopefuls on the wrong end of an upset last week, Coach Scott's team turned in a good performance with Trevor Lawrence actually showing up for once - typical. There's some interesting dynamics with this team right now - Chase has lost Burrow, so what will he be? Achane is injured again (at least for the short term), but if anything this clarifies the backfield and makes Mostert a better option. The rest of the team remains strong - Gibbs is finally delivering on his draft capital. They are vying for probably the points forward wildcard though, currently holding that position, as they are 2 behind in the division and traditional wildcard after dropping 3 on the bounce.

11. Gridiron Gang (7-4) - no change: After a missed opportunity to take the lead in the division a week before, they didn't slip up again, beating their father no less and placing a slightly better grip on the division. Remaining the highest scoring team as well, this is another one of the teams knocking on the door of playoffs. The new OC in Buffalo may well be what saves Allen, the Bills, and potentially my season. Dell has been a revelation, and the trifecta of Monty McCaffrey and Pacheco is back. They have enough options to play with behind this to make a strong line-up top to bottom each week.

12. The Dream Team (8-3) - no change: Coach Nathwani had 1 foot in the playoffs last week, with a win and other divisional losses they now have the other foot in. Given their points lead this might be enough to help them close the door - another win this week certainly would. It feels a little bit like it's Viv's world and we're all living in it at the moment. Singletary went from the waiver and into the line-up seamlessly. Whilst not all the key players are bulletproof, it doesn't really matter when there's ones next to them blowing up. We could be looking at the next entrant to the 2x win club, only a couple years after their first.

And there you have it - hope the power rankings go down nicely with your pumpkin pie. A little bit of wiggle at the top, and some rearranging at the bottom. This week doesn't pit many playoff teams against each other, but that means we'll be on upset watch again. Best of luck folks, gobble gobble!

With Thanksgiving swiftly on the horizon (not to mention the LOC Playoffs being all to far off either), what better way to celebrate the season than with the Week 11 Power Rankings! The Commish is back to write them for you this week - let's see how much I disagree with my former self! We have quite a clear playoff picture emerging, so in theory not too much...

1. Tom's Tyrants (4-6) - down 2: Now, Coach Barnes has been a little hard done by by the timing of me writing the article this week. Coming off a week where they had the highest score, you may raise an eyebrow as to why they have now descended to the bottom. Well, whilst the Allen and Robinson blow ups were nice to see (for Tom, not for me) they can't be relied upon - and now team captain Joe Burrow will miss the rest of the season. The resurgent play of Burrow is much the reason Tom's Tyrants has had a semblance of competitiveness in most games this season - and the waiver QB market is bleak, making their rest of season prospects quite dark.

2. Buccing The Trend (1-9) - up 1: Coach Taylor is lifted off the bottom due to forces unrelated to him and his team. To make matters worse, he is now tied for the worst ever start to an LOC season (GG started 0-9 in 2018 before finally getting a win in week 10). Certainly not the side of history you want to be on. Fortunately for Coach Taylor, there are still 4 games left providing him ample opportunity to avoid setting a new worst season record of all time (2-12). The opportunity may be there, but can the team capitalise upon it? Well - they're probably going to need some luck. This team is just bereft of star talent. Tua and Smith highlight the side, but whilst they can have blow ups they arent' consistent. Jacobs and Barkley only have floor at this point, and there are some players who can contribute around this - but they also could just disappear.

3. Forge Flyers (2-8) - up 1: Another week, yet more bench points - but the QB room is remade with Howell and Murray. At what point does Chris just swap in his bench over his starters once he has made his mind up, to play into the bench points narrative? The Hunt trade should help as he has been a lock for a TD a week for over the last month, and there are still some solid players on this team which should allow them to be competitive in the last few games of the season.

4. Penninggu (3-7) - down 1: TE FC rattled off a nice win with 100 points to boot last week - however they get knocked down a peg here - similar to Tom's Tyrants, this team lost Mark Andrews for the rest of the season in the Thursday night game. This is a fairly thin team beyond the starting line-up, combined with Burrow going down and clouding the outlook of Higgins (who is missing time due to a hamstring anyway) those losses are enough of a blow to knock them down one entire sport. Prescott's recent form has buoyed them, and with also losing Watson for the season they'll need that to continue.

5. U R Gould (8-2) - up 1: Since I can't quantify the weird juju this team casts on their opponents, I place their ranking purely upon their actual roster. Otherwise they would arguably be 1 on this list. Just a reminder - circa 300 points less conceded than the highest conceding team. Yet to concede 800 points through 10 weeks (I'll let you do the math on that one). It's weird having an 8-2 team here - but I wake up each morning asking myself the same questions: what is the meaning of life? What do I want for breakfast today? How does Coach Gardner-Beddoes keep getting away with it and what shaman or witch do I need to see to obtain his aura? Anyway - back to the team itself. Look, they have a solid QB in Purdy, Brown is a stud, but beyond that it's just a lot of guys, some may have ok weeks, some may not. They've been hugely bailed out by D and kicker of late. Fields is returning, but it's hard to quantify the impact of that. If the curse doesn't continue I think they'll quickly be found out - but they're almost guaranteed a trip to the playoffs at this point.

6. IKSAN (6-4) - no change: With another crucial win this team remains in the hunt - we shouldn't be surprised at Coach & GM Sherwood's ability to keep this team sniffing around the playoffs - but it would be remiss of me to point out they are somewhat fortunate in their opposition like U R Gould, albeit to a lesser extent. Still, Mahomes, Evans and Ekeler form a nice core here - Sutton has bewilderingly been a TD machine this year, and Jones and Kirk are solid contributors. They're perilously thin behind this however - given they're currently on the outside looking in in the playoff race, they will need some things to fall their way.

7. Bear Necessities (3-7) - no change: A better week last week, but the loss streak is extended to 6. They've got off to a hot start this week however so that could change. This team is still solid, but it's not as punchy as the teams above them on this list. Mixon's outlook now becomes murky with Burrow going down. Jackson has been woefully inconsistent, as has much of the rest of the team to be honest. Robinson is being used correctly now so that's a plus, they have some options on the bench too - but the Coach just isn't giving the team the attention it needs. A shame, as this is a team that could have firmly been in the playoff race - but lucky me, they might pick this week to disrupt the playoff contenders.

8. Burdettinators (6-4) - down 1: Very much still firmly in the playoff race, it was unfortunate they had bye week hell last week otherwise they'd have likely got the W and be back to the top of the Winchester division. This team is definitely good enough to find themselves in a playoff spot come seasons end, but I think Coach Burdett will be the first to say they're not the best team in the league - but they are a good one. Outside of Hurts they just lack start power - but QB is arguably the best position to have star power. Swift is a solid option, Adams is seeing volume now which is nice, and to be honest nearly the entirety of the rest of the team are solid contributors. Despite losing 3 out of the last 4, they should definitely see some wins between now and the end of the season.

9. Great Scott (6-4) - down 1: This team can certainly lay claim to having the best group of skill position players in the league - though they will likely have a softening of that with the imminent return of Herbert affecting D'Onta Foreman, as well as the impact the Burrow injury will have on Chase - that's enough to knock them down by 1. The return of Achane clouds the Dolphins backfield too - if which Coach Scott literally owns all of except Savon Ahmed. You have to figure though he'll have at least 1, if not 2, solid to great options out of that. But truly it's the QB situation which holds this team from going any higher. It cost this team a win last week, and will continue to hold their potential back.

10. Patistan (8-2) - up 2: Sitting at 8-2 and the current occupier of the #1 seed, Coach Allen is looking good for a return to the playoffs. Despite being one of the streaming QB teams, at worse you'd have to say they're league average as Goff and Stroud are quite the combo. The skill positions are solid, and this team is about to get Justin Jefferson back - we don't know what version of JJ we will see with Dobbs, but it's hard to imagine Jefferson not being one of the starting 5 week in week out for Patistan. Don't look now, but this could be the year for Pat.

11. Gridiron Gang (6-4) - no change: The Power Rankings gods have clearly seen through my guise of refusing to put myself at number 1 and bestowed the power rankings curse onto me anyway. Just as I wrote last week that my depth situation appeared to resolve itself, the Saints decided to not use the swiss army knife Taysom Hill that was giving their offence an edge, Watson goes down affecting the outlook of Cooper, and Allen craps the bed and gets his OC fired. Further, while Monty's overall score looked nice last week, a 75 yard TD hid some sins (as well as him telling Gibbs to go in instead of him for a goal line TD). Herbert's returning workload is unclear also. But, the overall team makeup and outlook is still quite good - whilst they're in a fight for the division, providing the team continues to score well they should at worst find themselves in the point forward playoff berth.

12. The Dream Team (7-3) - no change: Coach Nathwani reigns supreme, and with each passing week I'm more and more convinced they'll win it all. In the drivers seat for the division, I think they're removing themselves from the argument of being the best team and may just be the best team. As mentioned on the pod, the boom bust, flashy nature of this team is very much there - but if 2 players go off on this team in a week that's enough to give them a good shot of winning - let alone if they all did. The bench is probably the strongest in the league to underpin the rest of the team as well. Unless something out of the blue happens to them I don't see them being unseated for the 1 spot here.

And there you have it - as I thought, not much wholesale change but a little bit of movement here and there. With fewer and fewer weeks remaining to the playoffs, after this week we may have more clarity on playoffs - as we will firmly start to see what the race for divisions and wildcards become. Hello and welcome back! Come on in and take a seat, your seat numbers are laid out before you below. Don’t give me grief if you’re sat near the back. With one day to go until the trade deadline it could potentially be risky to deliver the rankings now - though if history is anything to go off of any trades would involve me anyway, and whilst there are a few irons in the fire, nothing is close to materialising. And without further delay, the rankings!

1. Buccing The Trend (1-8) - No change: As they say, a leopard can’t change its spots. The had a decent enough week last week, but just conceded a ton (again). To make matters worse the dynamic duo of Barkley and Jacobs are both contending with horrendous offensive situations. There is very little else around them on this team to compensate, and Coach Taylor just hasn’t had the same touch with the waiver wire this year. I still believe they’re good enough to win a few games to close the year, but if things continue they could be on track for the all time worst season in the LOC.

2. Forge Flyers (2-7) - up 1: Another ok performance by Coach Leach’s side last week, but they had the misfortune of facing off against a certain C.J. Stroud. There are shoots of optimism, and with a more free wheeling Coach Leach (which has always been when he’s at his best) could mean a better run to close the season. Hopefully Kyler will be the “third times the charm” for Forge Flyers QB room as well (that or Kyler may soon have a injury event that gives him a lot more time to play the new Call of Duty). This is enough for me to move them off the bottom.

3. Tom’s Tyrants (3-6) - down 3: I thought Coach Barnes had us all right where he wanted us. At 3-5, he was primed to kickoff one of the dramatic late season turnarounds we’ve seen from him multiple times before. And then the Tyrants lose a fairly winnable game in a key divisional bout. Burrow seems back to normal which is a plus, but outside of Allen and Kupp there is just nothing exciting on the roster, and even those two have cooled of late. It still wouldn’t surprise me to see a Coach Barnes turnaround, but the hill may be too steep to climb to make it amount to anything at this point.

4. U R Gould (7-2) - down 1: Oh the king is firmly back. A pretty grotesque week last week where they were completely bailed out by the Colts D of all teams (but credit is where credit is due, it was a great stream) and a low point output from their opponent. There is very little in the way of consistent and reliable options on this team right now, and they’ll have to be banking on AJ Brown, the special teams, defence and QB room to lead the way. Fields coming back could be a boost, or it could blow up spectacularly.

5. Thomas and Friends (2-7) - up 1: don’t look now, but Coach Nunn’s team have quietly notched 3 straight weeks of scoring 90+. Unfortunately for Coach Nunn they are 1-2 over those weeks, as they too have grappled with having a boat load of points dropped on them this year (2nd highest, one of two over 900 points conceded). I genuinely think TE FC could make some noise down the stretch though - their QB situation seems to have sorted itself out, and the full strength starting lineup is actually quite solid. Too late probably to make a playoff push, but they have the prime look of a berserker that could change the playoff race for others.

6. IKSAN (5-4) - up 3: If you’re counting that’s 2 must win games Coach Sherwood has come through on now this season, picking up a crucial win against Great Scott last week to keep themselves in the playoff race and hold back a playoff potential. Not necessarily a surprise from arguably the best GM in the LOC. They’ve got another must win on the docket with fellow playoff hopeful Burdettinators this week. IKSAN are sort of the standalone middle ground team in the LOC right now, as everyone else is either above 6-3 or below 3-6. A finally vintage Ekeler and seemingly back to full health and role Jones couldn’t have come at a better time for them, and they have enough other options they can cobble together. It would shock no one if they found a way to the playoffs.

7. Bear Necessities (3-6) - down 2: remember that reliable pick up truck I likened this team to in the power rankings last week? Yeah, the truck broke down, the engine caught fire, and it rolled off a cliff. This team is still decent, but it just doesn’t have the upside of the teams below on this list - and with quite a divide in records this year, that means most teams can probably just out muscle this side. But the floor should be enough to keep them competitive.

8. Patistan (7-2) - up 1: a top heavy last week lead be previous acquisition Stroud - but for me this just highlights the depth of this side, as he was playing due to Goff being on bye. This team is as deep as you’d like, but it does feel like the upside for a lot of these players has shrunk for one reason or another. Taysom Hill has capped their Saints players, Walker has been losing work to Charbonnet, and Taylor has seized the backfield from Moss. They’re still a good team though, and can certainly contend with any team in the league.

9. Burdettinators (6-3) - up 1: I really struggle with Coach Burdett’s team. Outside of Hurts there’s no stars on this team. Davante is the last man standing from Coach Burdett’s starter draft class, and they’d probably rather he went down over one of the others as he has just not produced of late. They have a lot of good options behind this either from later draft picks or the waiver which has been the lifeblood and is a great achievement by Ollie, but it just feels like the floor could fall out at any point. Until that happens though you can’t get away from them, as it hasn’t happened to this point.

10. Great Scott (6-3) - No change: what a difference a week makes. The 5 game win streak is over, and Coach Scott went from the 1st seed to not even in a playoff spot. That highlights how competitive the race at the top is this year. And in fairness to Geoff, Ben caught him on a good week as he had many byes to deal with. Half their roster is on bye this week because of Miami (I’m only semi joking here), but otherwise they’re looking strong. Foreman and Gibbs profile to take a step back with the return of their respective running back mates though - but White may be stepping up.

11. Gridiron Gang (6-3) - No change: I went from praying for 3 points to get the win last week, to having the highest weekly score with the Chargers dominant performance on MNF. Let’s not forget about Taysom Hill’s contribution either, or the fact that I was crazy enough to actually play him (even if my other choice Dell did slightly out perform him). But that comment I’ve previously made about lack of depth may be weakening - Hills usage may be here to stay as the Saints seem to be embracing the experience, Dell could be another usable piece, Monty is back and Herbert is coming off IR. If playoff Lenny hits I will be leaving a 5 star review for that crystal ball I ordered off of Amazon.

12. The Dream Team (6-3) - No change: The Dream Team pulled the opposite of Great Scott last week - they stumbled past Bear Necessities with 70 points, yet got the win and seized control of the division. The boom and bust flashy nature of this team will cause this to happen sometimes, but the upside of this team is too great to ignore. Mitchell was a savvy use of waiver funds for a high upside, low risk gamble too. They’re one of 2 teams over 900 points at this stage and for good reason - it’d be quite the surprise if they don’t make playoffs.

And there we go - quite a split league at the moment it feels like, but there’s intrigue in every division and still an interesting playoff race - one we’re not accustomed to either, as it’s more of the “who blinks first” variety where even one loss could prove costly. Hello and welcome back to power rankings corner, not to be confused with debate corner - opposite side of the room, no John Bercow’ here. Anyway - it’s the commish back again bringing you this weeks edition! I’m as surprised as you are, but our resident EDOTLOCCA has been frightfully busy of late, so I’ll be doing it again for at least the next few weeks. Apologies for the gap since the last article too, I’ve been a tad unwell. But anyway, let’s get to it!

1. Forge Flyers (2-6) - down 2: not to stick the knife in, but to be honest Chris would probably scold me himself if I didn’t put him here. To echo his analysis yesterday, the cupboard is just bare right now. QB injuries and players that have just disappointed have curtailed Forge Flyers 2023 season. The vast number of points on the bench certainly haven’t helped either, but to be fair Chris is also in the top half of the league in points against. Henry is the only reliable weapon this team has. I think a freed, gun slinging GM Leach could make this team a bit of a berserker down the stretch though.

2. Buccing The Trend (1-7) - No change: HE’S DONE IT! THE MONKEY IS OFF HIS BACK! Congrats to Coach Taylor for notching his first, long overdue, win of the season. Conceding by far the highest points of any team on the season, the road has been rough and this team is better than the record - but equally their 7th highest points forward ranking is quite generous, as there’s a wide mark between them and 6th place, and they’re far closer to 12th than they are first. Scanning down the roster there is certainly a chance of a second half surge with a mostly healthy Barkley and a should be freed Jacobs, to go with lynch pin Tua. Behind that however is a fairly thin and inconsistent roster - but one that can turn up on its day.

3. IKSAN (4-4) - down 9: A 9 place drop is pretty meteoric, but it would have been more gradual if not for the wide gap between articles. A lot of my high ranking on this team was predicated on them getting healthy and play of certain players improving. The health aspect has come to fruition, but not only have struggling players not turned a corner, those players who have now returned are seemingly taking solidarity with the struggling players. Jones, Watson, Mattison just haven’t been firing - to make matters worse Mahomes is also in a funk, Ekeler has shown signs of getting going but hasn’t been overly reliable himself, and Evans, Kirk, Sutton and Meyers have been inconsistent. You could absolutely see them become World beaters, but this team just isn’t clicking at the moment.

4. Thomas & Friends (2-6) - up 3: TE FC is a sneaky good team, but the upside is just capped - especially without an elite QB. JT, Swift’s boyfriend, Diggs and Mandrews is a rock solid core, and they have complementary pieces to go alongside them. Look, the reliance on TEs means the ceiling isn’t as high as other teams, but we see enough low scores in a given week that this team should be able to pick up wins as they should have a fairly steady floor. They could do with filling their last vacant bench spot however.

5. U R Gould (6-2) - No change: a very nice score last week and an impressive record to boot, but they are still massively benefiting from conceding points at a very low clip. The roster is good not great, with AJ Brown being the only real reliable star they have, with a handful of guys chipping in here and there. They’ve been good at the QB streamers of late and fields could be back sooner rather than later. Ultimately they’re in a good position and you can easily see a scenario where they end up in a playoff berth - but much of that is thanks to what has already passed;

6. Tom’s Tyrants (3-5) - up 2: I have no idea what to do with this team, so the 7th spot feels fitting. One week they’re up, the next they’re down. The team on paper is honestly pretty star studded, between Kupp, Burrow and Allen - and they have solid serviceable guys like London, Thielen, Wilson and Robinson. I’m not sure what Cook is at this point, and playoff Lenny could suggest the Bills think the same. Ultimately this team will win some and lose some down the stretch - so yeah, guess 7th is right after all.

7. Patistan (6-2) - down 2: this teams slight slide is more due to other teams jumping up as opposed to them falling back. From a skill position perspective this team is deep, but I would say not overly top heavy. That however means a steady flow of points with the ability to play matchups. QB is serviceable, so this is an all around pretty good team. Like U R Gould, this team has definitely benefitted from generous opposition with a low points against, as there are teams higher on this list which I think it’s fair to say are better but have worse records.

8. Burdettinators (5-3) - No change: Zombie FC has done a remarkable job to hold a wining record to this point given all the key injuries incurred, and for the first time this season has lost poll position in the division. They’re still very much in contention for the division however, as some good later draft picks and waiver moves have kept the cupboard just about stocked enough to compete. No, they’re not as deep or as strong as some others on this list, but this team can go toe to toe with any team in the league and have a good shot at coming out on top.

9. Bear Necessities (3-5) - down 1: currently owners of the longest active losing streak in the league after Buccing The Trend’s win, the team on a 4 game slide comes in at 4. After starting 3-1 it’s been a lacklustre month, capitalised by a Coach not paying as much attention to the the team, which has probably contributed but isn’t entirely to blame. Still, this is a strong and dependable team. It’s not flashy like a Lamborghini or Ferrari, but it’s robust and reliable, like a RAM or a Ford Tundra. I don’t really know how better to analyse this team than that, so I’m just gonna leave it there.

10. Great Scott (6-2) - up 4: the 2nd biggest riser on this list and for good reason, as they currently possess a 5 game winning streak (longest active) and are the number 1 overall seed. I liked this team before but they’ve certainly kicked in to another gear of late with Chase speeding up, a savvy add of Foreman, and Gibbs being featured with Montgomery on the shelf. Some other solid options on the team and another smart add of Hubbard adds to the overall squad, a nice job so far by the rookie coach and GM. However, QB isn’t a strong point and Gibbs will take a step back with Monty’s return. Achane will return, but that perhaps muddies the waters again. Overall though this is a very good team primed for a good stretch run and a playoff appearance.

11. Gridiron Gang (5-3) - No change: Still at 2, and the reason is the same as before - lack of depth. At full strength this team would lay a strong claim to the best starting lineup in the league - but the bench is not overly inspiring. My penchant is picking through the trash heap and finding short term options (of which I’ve done so), but if this team suffers any serious injury to a key player it could dramatically change the outlook. They have had back to back wins despite being down Montgomery, and were a mere few points away from keeping their 80 point weekly score streak alive. Currently the leagues highest scoring team, if I keep picking right and continue to get points in the lineup over the bench this team should plough on.

12. The Dream Team (5-3) - up 5: the biggest riser on the list and only one of 2 teams to be over 800 points, Coach Nathwani has potentially the most stereotypical version of his team ever. Herbert, hill, hall and Etienne ooze the flashy, blow up potential that Viv loves. Guys like Lamb, Davis, McLaurin don’t possess the same upside as the aforementioned, but are definitely cut from the same cloth. Even bottom of the roster guys like Wareen, Jeudy and Palmer could arguably be starters on other teams in the league, but are relegated to mere depth for this team. They’re not first in the division at the moment, but it’s hard to envision a scenario where this team isn’t in the playoffs, and perhaps the same can be said for Corona Bowl XV.

Wait, I’m here again? I knew I shouldn’t have trusted the EDOTLOCCA when he invited me to his office. Well I’m here now, so your Commish may as well deliver another edition of the Power Rankings as it has seemingly become my job now. Joking aside, Tom currently has COVID so we wish him a speedy recovery, and he should be back writing the article next week. Let’s get it!

1. Avatarell (1-4) - No change: they finally got a win, huzzah! Though it was much more to do with what was going on on the other side of the field with Richardson getting injured than anything they did. This is still a fairly weak team over all, which has now developed a QB problem, and Travis Kelce that isn’t fully healthy and may finally be showing his age. They will be getting Higgins back, and Taylor should get going more - but I don’t think this will dramatically change their fortune.

2. Buccing The Trend (0-5) - No change: the last remaining winless (and lossless) team. Once again the team performed fairly well but just got rained on by the opponent. The win will come, it may be this week, but overall it’s just not fully clicking right now. Getting Barkley back is big for them (but unlikely to mean much for this week), if Tua can take some work from his RBs a Coach Taylor turnaround isn’t unfathomable. Osborn gives them another option too

3. Forge Flyers (1-4) - Down 3: 2 injuries drop this team down - 1 on the team and 1 not, but both affecting their QBs. Richardson looked like a revelation but health has dodged him, and now will do so for at least a month. Cousins lost Jefferson too. This team does still have nice pieces, but outside of Henry (who has only been an RB2 thus far) lacks star power. It could come together though.

4. Tom’s Tyrants (2-3) - Up 1: a close win, boy must coach barnes be happy to have Kupp and the real joe burrow back. Inconsistent RBs will likely hold this team back, but the receiver room is pretty strong on the whole. If burrow can maintain form we could definitely see them go on a nice run. Thielen has been a real bright spot also.

5. U R Gould (4-1) - Up 1: the loss finally arrived (inevitably), but the team still looked pretty good. They’re an ok side overall, but like Forge Flyers lack any real star power. That being said, if Addison can step up they could have quite the duo with him and brown. If Fields recent form continues also we could definitely see this team rising up the rankings. Losing Conner is a minor blow but one they can overcome.

6. Great Scott (3-2) - Up 1: the Jekyll and Hyde act continues after a superb performance last week. This team is clearly capable of lightning it up, but consistency has been hard to come by. If Burrow can steady then Chase will as well - getting a healthy ASRB will help too, and with the Achane injury Mostert profiles to be a legit RB1 again. They’ve got Wilson if he becomes a thing too - the injury list is long however and QB mildly uninspiring. If Lawrence can really get it going, look out.

7. The Dream Team (3-2) - No change: they had a nice blow up week last week, but a generous matchup for hall and half of the bills defence sacrificing themself on the concrete of Tottenham stadium facilitated Etienne’s big day. Both great players no doubt, but they’ll be streaky. Hill remains the pillar of this team, and we’ll see if Herbert can continue his hot start. There’s not an awful lot of depth here, but some complementary pieces make the starting lineup very well rounded

8. Burdettinators (4-1) - No change: their first loss of the season came last week, and honestly with all the injuries it’s surprising it took this long. Coach Burdett has done a fantastic job so far but the bye weeks will be gruelling for a roster on fumes. Despite being on fumes, they have a fairly strong foundation - but I feel like guys like Collins, hill, swift, ford and Williams are at a bit of a crossroad. If they struggle again this week I think it may be time to revise down expectations on this team.

9. Patistan (4-1) - Down 3: a nice win last week, but a brutal loss as well - losing Justin Jefferson to a hamstring injury. They’re well set up to press on without him though, as this could be the most well rounded starting lineup in the league. They’ve got some depth to play with, and they have the hot hand when it comes to QB streaming (which has been a big part of their success so far). Adding Stroud and continuing to play matchups should solidify that, as they continue their march to the playoffs.

10. Bear Necessities (3-2) - No change: it’s a good team, I don’t think it’s a great team, but certainly one that deserves some respect. Outside of Jackson and maybe Robinson there’s not a great deal of start power, but they just have a gaggle of solid players (certainly if Jackson’s receivers fancy actually catching a ball or two). Good is the enemy of great however, and I just can’t shake the feeling that this might be another good bear necessities team that doesn’t quite make it due to some other slightly flashier teams pipping them to the finish line

11. Gridiron Gang (3-2) - No change: another week in the 2 spot for my team, I seem incapable of justifying to nudge my team up, and it has been too good to nudge down. When fully healthy and available I’d argue this team has the best top to bottom starting lineup in the league - I’ve not had that for some weeks, but it hasn’t mattered. If DeShaun Watson’s shoulder keeps him out for an extended period of time though this team does have a WR problem - it’s a very prospective bench, as it has been all year, and that has limited my ability to play the waiver as much as I normally would. Lack of depth keeps this team in 2.

12. IKSAN (2-3) - Up 3: I keep yo-yoing them about, but last week was a vital win in Coach Sherwood’s season. Touchwood, come next week they should be back to full health - and good luck to any team facing them from there on because this is the best top to bottom roster in the league and I won’t hear otherwise. If I’m being super critical, I’d say the current chiefs offence is suppressing mahomes’ upside a bit, but that’s the only nitpick - and he’s still gonna be rock solid.

Hello again, the Commish is back to deliver another edition of the power rankings in relief of the EDOTLOCCA! After my rusty return to the literary action last week, I couldn’t let another week go without having another shot to make good on it (definitely nothing to do with Tom not being able to write the article again this week). September is in the books, so let’s see the state of play in the LOC heading into October.

1. Jamal Fix It (0-4) - No Change: look, this team is definitely better than their 0-4 record. They showed last week the classic Ross penchant for a good week with a roster that otherwise seems adrift - Coach Nunn is just unfortunate it was against the week’s highest scorer. To be honest, I saw enough to move them off the bottom, but potentially losing Tee Higgins for at least a week or 2 takes them back a bit. They are getting Taylor back, but I need to see that impact before I believe it. They’re going to get wins this season.

2. Buccing The Trend (0-4) - No Change: If not for injury Coach Taylor may have had the grace of falling down. They faced a good opponent too, but it still wasn’t a great week - however, like Ross’s team, they’ve shown enough to get wins this year. Jacob’s finally got going, evans hamstring injury opens the door for Godwin, and Barkley is returning. Tua and the special team will have better days so the turnaround could be coming sooner rather than later.

3. Tom’s Tyrants (1-3) - down 1: I was confident enough to lock them on the pod last week, but it appears that confidence was misplaced. Burrow needs to get right, or Coach Barnes needs a new QB. Until either or both of these things happen this team will be held back. Allen is the pillar, they have a couple of nice backs in Cook and Robinson, but this roster just doesn’t have a lot of juice. But Tom certainly knows how to turn a team around.

4. U R Gould (4-0) - up 1: the king lives. Once again they were fortunate in their opposition, but they did have a decent week - largely courtesy of benching fields and an aj brown blow up. I do like the Stroud addition though. I just struggle to see much upside with this team outside of pollard and brown though, and they’ve not both been super thus far. They started Sam LaPorta this week - that tells you where the team is at.

5. Great Scott (2-2) - down 3: don’t let the win last week fool you, this team has its problems. You look at the team and can see the potential, but we’re just not getting it right now. Lawrence and jags haven’t got going, Chase is at the mercy of burrow. St Brown is hobbled, Mostert has an Achane problem, Sanders has a bad offence problem, and Gibbs has a Montgomery problem. Achane is the only juicy option on the bench, and he could be special, but he needs some of the other names above to start firing to help him. If things do click this team will be dangerous.

6. Forge Flyers (1-3) - up 1: they did it, set off the fireworks, they got a W! It was due. Yes, they benefited from a great D score, but cousins also let them down (and Coach Leach will be turning to Richardson im sure, who is entering stud level territory). If Henry can properly get going there’s more than enough of a supporting cast here to get their season back on track. They’re probably one of the more complete top to bottom teams in the league too, so are set up well for byes.

7. The Dream Team (2-2) - down 2: I think it’s becoming increasingly clear to me this team needs Herbert and Hill blow up weeks to work. But to be fair, they’re two players that have a penchant for that, and their blow ups are or the nuclear nature. They do have other good pieces on the roster too, the ceiling is high but the floor is also low. A classic flashy boom and bust dream team team. 6th seems like the logical spot for this team

8. Burdettinators (4-0) - up 1: the undefeated start continues, now there are only 2. This team is the better and more worthy one. Despite all the injuries, I’d still take this team too. The starting lineup is solid, no doubt about it. But I just can’t shake the feeling that it needs some depth, as these aren’t guys you want to HAVE to rely on week in week out. Understandably, there is not much depth on the team. It will be interesting to see how they fair in the byes - but if they stay healthy they’ll do fine.

9. IKSAN (1-3) - down 3: Coach Sherwood’s 80+ weekly points stretch since the end of 2021 has come to an end. Injuries pregame, during the game, and players returning from injury will do that - especially when your star QB doesn’t have a stellar week. When they do get healthy though this team could light it up. My beloved Alexander Mattison may not be throwing away his shot after all. Don’t get used to seeing IKSAN 2 games under 500, there’s a reason it doesn’t happen too often. The fall is more about other teams as opposed to them themselves.

10. Bear Necessities (3-1) - down 1: Another solid week and another win. Coach Stubbs Sr has a robust roster from top to bottom, and it’s easy to see them return to playoffs after narrowly missing out last year. Yet, there are some cracks in the roster that may be starting to appear. Mixon has been afflicted by the bengals slow start. Nacua has been a revelation, but what will the offence look like with Kupp back? Williams has a hip injury, and Robinson has an Arthur Smith problem. The upside is tantalising, but the shine coke come off if this team a little bit.

11. Gridiron Gang (3-1) - No change: definitely not moving myself up to the cursed number 1 spot, let’s hope the power rankings goods don’t see through my guise. No, joking aside, Gridiron Gang remain in 2 despite coming off this seasons weekly highest score because it was a very top heavy effort by 3 players. No doubt the starting 6 of this team have a case to be the best in the league, but behind that it’s a bit sketchy. I could do with 1 or 2 of my prospective guys emerging and solidifying to really elevate this team.

12. Patistan (3-1) - up 6: what a rise, and for good reason. The loss was a narrow one, in a week where the team was strong. There is a mighty fine coaching and GM effort going on here to field a good QB each work, and it’s working. The team is dripping in talent, you’d struggle to poke holes in any of the players. Kamara has only added to that seemingly. We’ve said in seasons past “this is pats year”. Well gentlemen, the year where we’ve not been saying that and they’ve been seemingly going under the radar a little more, could in fact be this year.

Hello LOC! It has been a while but the Commish is back with a power rankings article. I may have some rust to knock off so please bear with me, as my media is more geared to audio and visual platforms nowadays! But let’s give it a crack…last week was broadly a good week and probably the most enjoyable of the season - so what does that mean for the LOC?

1. Hey Doug (0-3) – No Change

As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Whilst they remain in the bottom spot, I firmly believe this team will pick up some wins this year, certainly if Johnathan Taylor comes back in full force. Despite that however, you’d be hard pressed to favour TE FC in many games this season.

1. Buccing The Trend (0-3) – No Change

I’m not copying and pasting, I promise (though this would make writing the article much quicker). Another good outing last week but once again they’ve had a ton of points dropped on them (they were firmly tanked last week). But despite that, Tua and the special teams did mask a rather dismal display - but Tua can likely be counted on for that. Their season rests on Jacoba returning to form and Barkley returning healthy. If Cam Akers becomes a thing on the Vikings I’m not going to be happy.

1. ACTUALLY 10: U R Gould (3-0) - down 5

No I’m not doing this to prove a point that I’m copying and pasting (but it would work right?). Yes I know that they’re 3-0, but they’ve not even conceded 200 points on the year (that’s an average of less than 70 points per game), and are mid table in points forward. On the one hand they’ve basically been playing without a QB, on the other special teams have propped them up. I don’t think they’re bad, but they’re definitely due some regression to the mean.

1. ACTUALLY 9: Tom’s Tyrants (1-2) - up 1

I really don’t know what to make of this team. After week 1 I was very down on this team, week 2 showed me something I didn’t think was there, and week 3 confirmed my initial suspicions. They deeply need Burrow to get healthy and perform as wins are going to be hard to come by if he doesn’t. Wilson and London aren’t playable in my eyes. Robinson will be fine in positive game scripts. Cook is nice but touchdowns may be elusive. Thielen and Allen are bright spots.

1. ACTUALLY 8: Forge Flyers (0-3) - No Change

This team really shouldn’t be 0-3. On paper that RB room looks nasty. Preseason that RB room looked nasty. Now it looks like a nasty bathroom at a retirement home. But we’ve seen Henry start slow before, the Texans will get healthier and have an o-line better than 4th string, and Stevenson will do better when the schedule lightens up. The WR room is still elite, and cousins could be the FA QB of the season. Coach Leach needs to stop leaving points on the bench though, he’ll be the first to say it’s entering meme territory.

1. ACTUALLY 7: Patistan (3-0) - No Change

Tom’s rankings seem pretty good so far tbf. I think Pat has a good team, but I don’t think he has a great team. Much like Coach GB, he’s benefited a lot from a low points against. He’s changed QBs more times than he’s changed his underwear, but still doesn’t seem to have found a good answer. Jefferson Olave and Walker are legit, behind that it’s a nice group but nothing gets me too excited. If Kamara comes back as a legit RB option this could really take them to the next level.

1. ACTUALLY 6: Burdettinators (3-0) - down 5

This may be somewhat controversial, but hear me out. Hurts and Adams are elite (obviously). But with yet another season ending injury from Mike Williams this team has been decimated. Credit to Ollie for getting them to 3-0, whilst finding viable players in Collins, Swift, Ford and Williams to plug the gap though. But I’m not sure if I want to be counting on 3 of those 4 week in week out, especially with bye weeks looming. Like the Rice add, if he becomes Mahomes’ number 1 receiver be may have just found another diamond in the rough.

1. ACTUALLY 5: Great Scott (1-2) - up 1

I wasn’t planning on putting Geoff’s team up this high, but here we are! Despite the record (and a very fortunate punt return TD in overtime on the last play of MNF football in week 1 that I’m DEFINITELY still not bitter about, which is the difference between them being 0-3) they do have a nice side. Lawrence and Chase really haven’t got going yet but the team has still been solid, if they do it’ll be scary. Gibbs is looking worse and worse for ROI with each passing week, but we could see the Miami RB stack with Achane and Mostert make up for that.

1. ACTUALLY 4: The Dream Team (2-1) - down 2

This team is dripping in talent, but I’m not entirely convinced it’s dripping in fantasy talent…but it certainly has the potential to be. Herbert and Hill are the obvious standouts, but Lamb, McLaurin,

Hall and Etienne have all looked better on the team sheet than in the box score. If they get going though this team will be tough to beat. Davis and palmer are nice depth pieces too.

1. ACTUALLY 3: Gridiron Gang (2-1) - up 1

Until it doesn’t remain the case any longer I’m going to keep saying it. The last time I scored less than 80 points in a week was week 11 of the 2021 season. We all know consistency is hard to come by in fantasy, and I’ve been on a good run. I’m also unlucky not to be 3-0 (as above). I somehow got 120 last week starting tutu Atwell and tank dell - who may actually be nice pieces possibly. Getting healthier with Monty and Waddle returning, this team is set up well for another potential return to the playoffs.

1. ACTUALLY 2: Bear Necessities (2-1) - up 7

The highest riser on the week, and a point of confusion for the podcast duo - why were they so low to begin with? A strong starting lineup with depth to boot. We’ll see what Nacua looks like with Kupp back, but it’s hard to find many holes to poke in this team. The players just need to deliver. Though I’m somewhat befuddled not the $11 bid for Mitchell.

1. IKSAN (1-2) - up 2

Coach Sherwood historically owns the Stubbs’, so losing to both of them two weeks on the trot is a marked difference for them. But, as Ben said in the draft video, the head to head isn’t too insightful, just curious. What is insightful is that like myself, the last time Ben scored less than 80 points in a week was week 17 of 2021. Considering this team has started the season mostly without 3 of their top 4 draft picks, but is only 1 of 4 teams to score 300 points or more so far, is nothing short of remarkable. When they get healthy don’t be surprised to see them terrorise the league. Evans and Myers are a revelation. They need to get away from Mattison though.

Hello, hello, and welcome, Coaches! It’s Week 3 and your favourite fortnightly article is back. And, it gets better, I’ve been paying very little attention since draft day, so these will be… drumroll please… vague! So yeah, get ready to read more on that key injury we all know about, that team that is totally defying expectations, and some other stuff that is super important. Read on.

1. Young Jedi (0-2) – No Change

Not much to see here, unless you count the name change. Which, to be fair, we should count, because it is a core principle of the team and, often, a good midweek laugh. Definitely some underperformers so far, Diggs and Kelce topping the list, but there are plenty of signs of life. The lack of consistent RB touches is notable.

1. Buccing The Trend (0-2) – No Change

The point scoring hasn’t been terrible, but results have eluded them thus far, leaving them very much where they started two weeks ago and top of the points conceded column. The Jacobs and Hopkins picks were concerns of mine, which have so far been validated. Barkley (when fit again), Smith and Tua have proven they can contribute big scores, some more consistency would be useful though.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (1-1) – No Change

This blurb would have read far worse if the rankings had made it out last week, following Kupp to IR, a disappearing act from Burrow, and a catch-less London. However, all of a sudden, it doesn’t seem too bad, following the top score in Week 2. Allen and Robinson have both stepped up to, so far, exceed draft position. If Kupp returns in Week 5, they should be dangerous.

1. Bear Necessities (1-1) – Down 1

Another team benefitting from the lack of rankings last week, although movement around them means they still, unluckily, drop a place. Lamar returned to expected output, and Bijan just looks incredible. Deebo getting back into the end zone rushing as well makes this one of the most exciting teams to watch. Winning the Puka Nacua sweepstakes makes them early favourites for waiver add of the year.

1. Forge Flyers (0-2) – Down 3

Sometimes teams do quite well but get absolutely rallied on. That could be the whole blurb, to be honest, but I’ll go on. They looked more encouraging after Week 1, with Ridley and Aiyuk seeming to be more matchup/gameplan

dependent. Richardson’s potentially quick return is a bonus, he has looked like the key man so far.

1. Patistan (2-0) – No Change

One of the teams who already feel like they have changed quite a lot, with only 3 skill position starters making it from a lucky Week 1 win, to a strong Week 2 win. The critical information in there is that they are 2-0, although they will be looking for more consistency outside of the otherworldly Jefferson. Zach Moss could prove a nice addition.

1. Great Scott (1-1) – Down 3

Wow, hands up who saw this coming from Chase? St. Brown has been better, but expectations would have been higher. Mostert has been the steal that I thought he could be, so far, with fitness being his ongoing nemesis. His run of fine form is giving the others time to get going. Better things to come from them, maybe Gibbs can prove the key man if Montgomery misses time.

1. U R Gould (2-0) – Up 4

They’re sitting at a very pretty at 2-0 as the number 2 seed, currently, and far above my starting placement. Now, we should say that they have conceded a league low number of points, and that their current top scorers are the Steelers DST, but that does gloss over some other key factors. Namely, Pollard living up to his top of the draft billing, and Jordan Addison getting off to an excellent start.

1. Gridiron Gang (1-1) – No Change

One very tight loss, plus one very tight win, plus two very consistent scores, equals complete lack of movement. Apparently. It’s probably one of Newton’s laws, or something. Anyway, CMC has been exactly as expected so far, while David Montgomery has looked good post the draft hype. Akers has made it 2 for 2 in disappointing ‘breakout’ years, but maybe Minnesota can help. Josh Allen will need to be more consistent for his draft billing.

1. IKSAN (1-1) – Up 3

A strong Week 1 was somewhat undone by losing both Jones, Meyers and Ekeler but, hey, Mike Evans is still a guy. It wasn’t quite enough last week, but they will hopefully return to full fitness soon. Getting back those three, plus the imminent return of Watson will completely change their lineup, showing the depth this team has. Mahomes hasn’t even hit god-mode yet, just very-good-QB-mode.

1. The Dream Team (1-1) – No Change

Back down to Earth after an electric Week 1 performance, this feels like a team that will be hard to place all season long. The core players of this team remain incredible, and Hall showed what he could do when fully fit, teasing a midround

steal before a <1pt performance in Week 2. There is a lot of game-breaking talent in here, teams aren’t going to want to face them.

1. Burdettinators (2-0) – No Change

Well, a lot has changed since the draft, but they sit as the number 1 seed, so that’s a pat on the back for them (and me). Dobbins and Chubb are done, but Ford and Williams are waiting in the wings, so some good adds there for sure. I’m not even going to touch Swift for another couple of weeks at least, but the Stroud-Collins connection looks very interesting. Overall, despite everything, they remain a very strong looking team.

Not too bad, for a two-week break from the post draft rankings, at least. Six ‘No Change’s, mostly at either end of the rankings, and only a little bit of chaos in the middle.  2023 Power Rankings: Week 1

Good evening, Coaches! Welcome all to a brand newseason and, in particular, Geoff to a brand new league! It was another excellent LOC day this year, with a fun and different approach to the league event, made possible by more masterful spreadsheet-ing. But, of course, the main event was the draft in itself. With, in my opinion, the best draft video to date as an aperitif, I now offer you these Power Rankings as suitable digestif, underscoring the offseason and bridging us into 2023. As an extra treat, I’ve included my favourite, least favourite and key picks, which I usually just use as notes for Week 1. This year, I thought I’d share them, so, please, enjoy!

Favourite Pick: Kyle Pitts​Least Favourite Pick: Dallas Goedert​

Key Man: Jonathan Taylor

Hard to analyse, as with each year. Always good for a laugh on the day, we know that auto-draft brings out the TE picks that our league format detracts value from. Andrews, Kittle, and, in particular, Pitts were all decent values with their potential upside though. Watson is a wildcard, but the return of Jonathan Taylor will be the key. Will he return after 4 weeks? Could it be for a potentially far stronger team? He could be massive this year.

11. Buccing The Trend 

Favourite Pick: Josh Jacobs​​Least Favourite Pick: DeAndre Hopkins​

Key Man: Tua Tagovailoa

A veteran heavy team, Buccing The Trend will be looking for some former stars to carve out roles on new teams. Nuk, Williams, Zeke, JuJu – there are a range of possibilities here – while Godwin and Pittman are looking at new QBs with big accuracy downgrades. The Barkley/Jacobs kinda-weird-franchise-tag-ish combo has the potential to be league leading, though. Can Tua’s leap in draft price be repaid over a whole season?

10. Tom’s Tyrants 

Favourite Pick: James Cook​​Least Favourite Pick: Cooper Kupp​

Key Man: Cooper Kupp

With 6 second year players, this team is built and primed to ‘make-the-leap’, the question is, can they? Flooded with WR talent, this team should see the fewest RB snaps on the season, with Wilson, Allen, London, and Pickens all ready to grow with new QBs, new systems, or expanded roles. James Cook and Adam Thielen were good values with the share of their offenses they are expected to handle. The news on Cooper Kupp since draft day has not been positive, and it has made his position atop the board more questionable. 

9. U R Gould 

Favourite Pick: Robbie Gould Darren Waller​Least Favourite Pick: Robbie Gould Quentin Johnston​​Key Man: Robbie Gould Justin Fields

After Robbie Gould was surprisingly drafted, and unceremoniously cut, this blurb has changed somewhat. The top 3 draft picks ooze star power, all having posted excellent stats in 2022, yet with room to grow further. Don’t be mistaken though, Justin Fields is the soul of the team and, if his rushing totals continue, he’s got a shot at #1 overall scorer. I liked the value of Darren Waller as a TE/WR1 hybrid, but the three rookies that followed make for questionable depth.

8. Bear Necessities 

Favourite Pick: Lamar Jackson​Least Favourite Pick: Deebo Samuel

Key Man: Bijan Robinson

A very strong start to the draft here, solid RBs with near guaranteed roles, backed up with a #1 overall QB contender towards the end of the early run. The receiver room doesn’t fill me with confidence, with some uncertain roles and likely bad offenses, but prominent snap shares for Williams and/or Cook could alleviate that. When you draft a rookie in the first round, a lot is bound to rest on his shoulders.

7. Patistan

Favourite Pick: Jahan Dotson​Least Favourite Pick: Najee Harris​

Key Man: Geno Smith

Geno Smith could easily have been the favourite pick here as well. Patistan were bold, they waited out the QBs, and they came out with a potential steal if last season’s form can be repeated. This is an excellent collection of WRs, and I think Dotson in particular could prove a great value pick. Harris felt like a pick made by a coach who didn’t want to leave Rounds 2/3 without aRB, he will need to show markedly better efficiency in an improved Steelers offense, or lose touches. Picking at the turn can do that, as anything can happen before your next picks. 

6. IKSAN 

Favourite Pick: Samaje Perine​Least Favourite Pick: Christian Watson

Key Man: Patrick Mahomes

An interesting team to place for me, after a resoundingly poor effort last year. I have nothing against Christian Watson as a pick, but it is quite early to double up on an offense with some question marks. Having said that, I love trying to get a couple of 1a/1b options in the new Payton-led Broncos. Hypocrisy, I know, but what are you going to do about it? Mattison could prove an excellent value in the middle rounds, but I am less convinced by Mike Evans. They will go as far as Mahomes can take them which, as we know, is pretty darn far.

5. Forge Flyers

Favourite Pick: Anthony Richardson​Least Favourite Pick: Rhamondre Stevenson​Key Man: Derrick Henry

King Henry to Forge Flyers was written in the stars and, with his stable of bruising backs, the gameplan is clearand well proven. Stevenson was a little rich for me, with some top pass catchers available, but the team was rounded out nicely with a collection of affordable receivers who have the potential to be target hogs. I especially liked the late Romeo Doubs pick to add to the collection. Richardson and Dak make for a very nice budget QB rotation.

4. Gridiron Gang 

Favourite Pick: Rashod Bateman​Least Favourite Pick: David Montgomery

Key Man: Christian McCaffrey

First and foremost, I don’t dislike the Montgomery pick, it was just a massive anticlimax after all the potential trade attempts, consider me neutral. The middle of this draft is filled with RB potential, if Gridiron Gang can get a couple of hits, they’ll be laughing. Jaylen Waddle needs to maintain his crazy efficiency all the time Hill is hogging the targets, but he’s more than capable. JSN and, particularly, Bateman are high upside receivers to have on the bench. They just need a full season of CMC and they’ll be laughing.

3. Great Scott

Favourite Pick: Raheem Mostert​Least Favourite Pick: Jahmyr Gibbs 

Key Man: Miles Sanders

Buoyed by a couple of high-value, superstars at receiver, Great Scott set about hitting the RBs left, right, and centre. If some of the larger roles potentially available to Sanders, White, and maybe Mostert pay off, this could be a ridiculously high-volume fantasy team. Sanders, above all others, is being talked up as a workhorse, and could repeat his strong previous year. Gibbs is an X-factor, for sure, but he has to come out of the gates fast to pay off the draft price. T-Law was a nice touch at a decent price.

2. The Dream Team

Favourite Pick: Justin Herbert​Least Favourite Pick: 49ers​​

Key Man: Breece Hall

Season-long, this is one of my favourite drafts. I think the top three were all excellent values, and getting Justin Herbert after the main QB run is a great result. Whilst the timing and quality of the 49ers pick in not in doubt, I feel that the pick may have been better spent on a higher quality depth option. McLaurin, Hall, Jeudy, and Toney all have questionable statuses to start the season, Hunt doesn’t even have a team. Having said that, if Hall returns to his rookie form quickly, a 3-down RB in the 6thround could be season defining.

1. Burdettinators

Favourite Pick: Diontae Johnson​Least Favourite Pick: J.K. Dobbins​

Key Man: Davante Adams

This is best built Burdettinators team I’ve seen, immediately after the draft at least, for several seasons. A steady base of receivers, with good target shares and high upsides, form the core of the team. Hurts is also a very strong QB option with a high floor. The rushing touches for Dobbins and Swift remain a slightly unknown quantity, but both have clear routes to valuable touches in high-powered offenses. If Jimmy G can keep Adams saturated with good opportunities, he will be a bargain.

And, there you have it! As always, take the rankings with a pinch of salt, perhaps draft ranks out of 10 would be an easier way to convey a clear opinion? Oh well, park that one for next year. Hopefully, these are slightly more interesting, and less random, than the NFL.com draft recaps. If I’m less accurate than that… well… probably time to reevaluate life a little.

Good evening, Coaches! Welcome to the first pre-Sunday edition of the Power Rankings for this season. Of course, due to Thanksgiving, more games than usual have also already happened, so it’s kind of irrelevant. So, in the spirit of the Black Friday I find myself writing on and, more importantly, because the pub beckons for a certain World Cup fixture this evening, here’s some cut-price Rankings for y’all.

1. Vickers Circle (2-9) – No Change

A tight game, despite anticipated struggles. One of two teams on the final chance this week, they have to win. Speaking of wins, they finally stumped game aficionado, Coach Stubbs Jr., quite the vistory in itself.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-9) – No Change

The second team clinging on to the slimmest of slim hopes, if last week was a warm up, they didn’t make the most of it. Back to full strength after the byes, they’ll need their committee RBs to keep up the efficiency.

1. Napolitans (5-6) – No Change

A narrow win last week, but they need to start upping the box scores to make a push at the playoffs. If this was a, very late, breakout game for Najee Harris, it is well-timed. He needs to keep finding the end zone.

1. U R Gould (4-7) – No Change

Not a bad week for them, but they lose the division lead on points scored. Jamaal Williams has definitely been the best thing about their season, which sounds like more of an insult than it is. If they sneak the playoffs, he’ll be pushing for best waiver add of the year.

1. Patistan (4-7) – No Change

A good win (against a slightly lacking opposition, admittedly), and they’ll be pleased to have put up a good score on an off week for main-man Jefferson. They’ll need to keep it up still under heavy pressure for Winchester’s crown – which has lost some lustre since the days of Saxon Wessex.

1. Forge Flyers (6-5) – Down 1

Yeah, nothing went right this week, epitomised by the -2 from Gano (lmao), definitely one to chalk off. They’re losing ground at a critical time, getting Kyler back will help, but they have other injury concerns.

1. The Dream Team (4-7) – Up 1

A much better week, the bounce-back they needed. Big performances from Pollard and Burrow led the way, they’ll be hoping Chase returns to provide some more juice to the stat-lines. High scoring continues to place them well and will continue to be necessary.

1. Buccing The Trend (8-3) – No Change

In what was definitely the game of the week, they toppled the form team by the slightest of margins, thanks in no small part to the monster contribution from Maher. There’s no doubt they are still contenders and, back to full fitness, they could round into form in perfect timing.

1. Gridiron Gang (7-4) – No Change

They may have lost, but it was still a good week and they were against the top ranked side. They continue to look dangerous and, perhaps more importantly, continue to extend the record for most waiver budget spent in a single season after picking up Perine – a record that could last for some time.

1. Bear Necessities (7-4) – No Change

Back to winning ways, but not in the most convincing of fashions. They’ll be hoping that the Bucs figure out their offense before the business end of the year. The gap between teams 3, 4 and 5 is so close for me that I’ve elected not to move any of them. A better compromise than King Solomon’s somehow justifiable homicide.

1. Burdettinators (7-4) – No Change

Points on the bench could easily have continued the run of wins, but they continued to roll into another strong week either way. Henry continues to remind us never to question him, even though we seem to every year, whilst Olave, Hopkins and Pacheco all showed the points can come from anywhere in this roster.

1. IKSAN (10-1) – No Change

An emphatic celebration of the rightful claim to the top spot. Solid contributions from across the board, particularly from Amari Cooper this week. They don’t have the deepest of benches, but they’re healthy and ready for the playoffs, which (I believe) they are now guaranteed to be in – although I spent the entire season writing about a playoff picture I didn’t understand last year, so who knows.

Yep, definitely a Black Friday themed amount of movement in the Rankings, at least 50% off. But not bad blurb length, and some sweet non-topical references from centuries past. Hello all, welcome to another LOC Sunday! Of course, this is also the Sunday that marks the start of the World Cup. If the group running that was as well organised and non-corrupt as the LOC, perhaps we wouldn’t be about to undertake the first ever midseason edition, with countless niggling injuries and a host nation that were awarded a ‘suspiciously high’ number of penalties in warm up matches, 5 out of 7 of which were behind closed doors. Basically, we’re great, the world sucks. Rankings time.

1. Fall Guy (2-8) – Down 2

An appropriate name change for their movements this week. A bad week in general and Kupp going to IR. Andrews is still banged up as well, and the season is starting to look bleak. They were unlucky not to pick up more wins early on, but the battle is looking drastically uphill at the moment.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-8) – Up 1

Amazingly, their season continues. With the new playoff rules and the worst division in LOC history, the fork has reached near mythical status this season. Taylor did show up, and they have some options at receiver finally. If this was the start of some steam-building, they can’t pause.

1. Napolitans (4-6) – Down 1

Another lopsided week leading to a middling score, they are victims of their division’s success. Still very much in the race for the high score playoff spot, fuelled by Hurts and Hill, they just need a couple more consistent performers to make the push, Christian Kirk just got hot. The drop reflects their route to the playoffs more than anything else, they’re better than teams above them.

1. U R Gould (4-6) – Up 2

Still the low scorers, now actually leading the division. In fairness, it may have been their best game of the season. Finally getting some points at QB was a big boost, but it was the Cook/Jones combo, that finally lived up to draft status, making the difference.

1. Patistan (3-7) – No Change

Despite losing their division crown last week, they are still the strongest team in the division. Elliott screwed them over last week with a late IA, there is enough talent on this roster to pick them back up though.

1. The Dream Team (3-7) – No Change

If they are going to cling on to the high scoring playoff spot, their only feasible route to the playoffs, they can’t afford many more weeks like that. The injuries have piled up at just the wrong time, but Edwards and Williams are close. Pollard getting a featured role would be a big bonus.

1. Forge Flyers (6-4) – Down 1

No Kyler last week, and the RB trio of the early season isn’t looking quite so dominant anymore. Juju being out and Toney seeing valuable targets is making him look like a hot start from now on, this could provide the juice to continue the push.

1. Buccing The Trend (7-3) – Up 1

That was a good bounce-back week. Jeff Wilson looks great, and they won the Watson sweepstakes, which appears to be a straight route to TDs (and nothing else) at the moment. Good time of the year to start looking dangerous again.

1. Gridiron Gang (7-3) – No Change

A decent week, and a win. That’s kind of all that happened last week. Of course, Joe Mixon is now fresh off the bye so, who know, his 50-pointer could have just been the start.

1. Bear Necessities (6-4) – Down 2

I’ve been high on this team all year, but they looked decidedly average last week. Without Lamar and with Brown locked up, it was far from their best. It’s been so close up top for a while, but perhaps this fall was a little overdue.

1. Burdettinators (7-3) – Up 1

High scorers again, with Fields remaining the catalyst. But, Lamb and Foreman showed their match winning potential too, and we all know what King Henry is capable of – including passing TDs now! Yeah, this team is hot in all the right places still.

1. IKSAN (9-1) – Up 1

It’s yet another good week from them. Mahomes is in crazy form at the moment, and Conner returned to a newly emptied backfield to great reward. They still have highs and lows, but they have probably been deserving of the top spot for a while. I mean, look at that record. My bad guys.

Good afternoon, everyone! We’re back and I’m sure we’ve been sorely missed. Actually, I’d accept just ‘absence noticed’ as a compliment, to be quite honest. But anyway, EDOTLOCCA holiday over, back to the Power Rankings. So, three whole weeks have passed, and what have we missed? The undefeated team are no more, the winless have also scored themselves a 1 in the column, and still no one wants to go to the playoffs in Winch. Plus, 6-3 has become the trendy place to be, so a hot playoff race is on the cards. Obviously I got the memo about 6-3, but I consider myself more of a trend-setter than a sheep… Anyway, where have we all landed?

1. Tom’s Tyrants (1-8) – No Change

Picking up the win will have course been celebrated, but still a sorry season on the whole. The roster is probably looking better than at any stage in the season so far, but they still lack for consistent starters. Maybe Taylor can return to 2021 form after getting healthy again.

1. U R Gould (3-6) – No Change

The low scorers in the league remain joint level on record on their division. Yeah, Winchester really has become the NFCS of the LOC. They seem to have a fantastic habit of making FAs notably worse after they pick them up, along with the fantastic talent of ending QB careers. Does that make them Indy?

1. Overcooke (2-7) – No Change

Week 9 was their unluckiest yet, which is good timing for this article. They’ve had some players round into form, led by Kupp and the Pats D. Despite going 0-3 since we last touched base, they look the most likely team in the Winch division to actually do something.

1. Napolitans (4-5) – No Change

A decent spot of form but still 2 back in their division and struggling to catch up. Tyreek and Hurts are the stars, Stevenson has also been great, they may just be suffering from too little too late. Of course, this is exactly when they made a mad charge at the playoffs last season, so they could well surprise me.

1. Patistan (3-6) – No Change

They hold onto the division, despite a lack of wins In the past 3 weeks. They never seem to have gotten past the Adams/Jefferson combo, struggling to find valuable contributors and with lower input than expected from Herbert. Getting Patterson back should have been helpful, but his committee has gotten far stronger in his absence.

1. The Dream Team (3-6) – Down 1

The defending champs haven’t had things fall their way this year. They’re the 4th top scorers at the moment, but languish 3 games away from their division rivals and with playoffs looking like a tough ask. Of course, the top scorers outside of the playoffs do get in with the latest rules.

1. Buccing The Trend (6-3) – Down 2

Perhaps the odd one out of the 6-3ers. With a notably lower points for, they have continued to pick up wins nonetheless. Good health and early season form for the key Lions personnel would help dramatically, the roster is too good to be so low scoring.

1. Forge Flyers (6-3) – No Change

They missed a prime opportunity to distance themselves from the pack last week, which has left them playing catchup in a very competitive division. It didn’t quite all come together, but Kamara and Waddle have proven to be consistent scorers. Heavy on the trade-acquisitions, Toney and Claypool have time to pay dividends, despite a poor first week.

1. Gridiron Gang (6-3) – Down 1

Fresh off the back of a statement win, they return to first place in the division, just. Walker has certainly returned on the heavy waiver investment, but this team still isn’t as star studded as those around them (outside of Allen and Kelce, of course).

1. Burdettinators (6-3) – Up 4

Definitely the team who have had the best run since the Week 7 edition. With a roster that was already on the up and key additions, primarily Fields, they are making a solid push for their division as the most in form team. The biggest movers of the EDOTLOCCA bye weeks, by far.

1. IKSAN (8-1) – No Change

Despite having finally dropped a game (very nearly 2 after last week), they still sit a very nice two games clear of anyone else. They continue to be fairly middling scorers, playing the right players at the right time. It’s a great way to win lots of games, I just can’t help but feel they won’t be the strongest team come the playoffs.

1. Bear Necessities (6-3) – No Change

Continuing to pick up wins, whilst still scoring at a very high rate. This team certainly hasn’t gotten worse in my time away. Brown, Ekeler, Jackson have all been week-winners, whilst Pierce has developed into a reliable starter. The top is all so close, I can’t see a reason to knock them down.

Wow, much less movement than I had expected. That is mainly due to everything being so damn close, of course. Let’s see what Week 10 brings and whether the playoff hunt starts to take a clearer shape. And, more importantly, let’s hope we speak again next week, it’s been nice. Until then, time to enjoy some German football before Qatar, when it becomes relentlessly infuriating.

Bad to worse here, twelfth is starting to look generous. A truly dismal week 6, followed by a double IR designation in the week to starters. But here we are, 2023 can’t come quickly enough.

1. U R Gould (2-4) – No Change

Not too much encouragement to take from this one either. Cook and Pittman looking more like expected could help in the long run, but they’re going to need more support.

1. Kupphead (2-4) – No Change

They’ve backed it up with another decent week, and another win. A much more well-rounded performance from a team that appears to have found its feet across the roster. Getting Dak back could help things further.

1. Napolitans (2-4) – No Change

Bit of bad luck to be up against one of the only teams that showed up in Week 6, but an encouraging score, nonetheless. Stevenson is looking more and more like a consistent starter, which is a big bonus.

1. Patistan (3-3) – No Change

They all count! A bit of good fortune in the opposite box score could be just what they need to kick start their campaign again. Still in a great position in their division and getting key byes out of the way. Eno Benjamin could be a difference-maker.

1. Burdettinators (3-3) – Down 1

They didn’t crash all the way back to where they started, but it was a disappointing week again, maybe a few too many risky starts. Jeff Wilson just lost a lot of his appeal to boot.

1. The Dream Team (2-4) – Up 1

That’s more like it from a team I’ve been high on all year. The big performances came from exactly where you’d expect, without a lot of excitement from elsewhere, but still encouraging moving forward. Gus Edwards could pan out very nicely too.

1. Forge Flyers (4-2) – No Change

Just as things started to look like they were hitting the next level, we have a bit of a dud. Nothing to be overly concerned by, but just a reminder of what is keeping them below the teams higher up the Rankings.

1. Buccing The Trend (4-2) – No Change

Bit of an ugly loss there, coupled (and somewhat caused) by more bad luck at QB. They had a good opportunity to separate themselves from the 4-2 hoard, and might go on to regret missing it.

1. Gridiron Gang (4-2) – No Change

Walker hit the ground running and instantly became a key cog to an already solid team. They picked up a comfortable win, some more FAB, ad are looking good approaching the halfway point.

1. IKSAN (6-0) – No Change

Good afternoon, everyone! Another week, another Sunday pushing me to the very limit of my finely honed procrastination. I can’t claim to always have this column at the top of my priority list anyway, (I know, admit it after the LOC elections, such a tory) but do you know how much harder it gets when you’re nearly half-way through the season and your team is still sitting on a big fat goose egg? No, you don’t, because you don’t write a column, and you’re not 0-5. Rub it in. Right, moan over, let’s get on with this.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (0-5) – No Change

I mean, pretty much read above. There are still a couple of glimmers of hope, but this team is hurtling towards irrelevancy. Jonathan Taylor, arguably the surest fire No. 1 pick in years, has done no favours, but it is far from all down to him.

1. U R Gould (2-3) – Down 1

Coach Gardner is certainly playing QB roulette. He seems to keep going all in on green however, not much panning out thus far. Did we just witness the return of Dalvin Cook though? Finally looking like his old self and touching paydirt, now they’ll just be looking for another two or three guys like that.

1. Perfect Dak (1-4) – Up 1

Yeah, that’s what we’ve been waiting for. Auto-draft, I mean Coach Nunn, proving once again that haters won’t stop him. Everything went right this week, highlighted perfectly by Gabe Davis nearly going for 10pts a catch, they just need to prove it wasn’t a fluke. Normally I start their blurb talking about the name change, (nice to pay homage to an on-team player, by the way) but this week was too impressive to ignore.

1. Napolitans (2-3) – Down 1

Call that one a right off. Some highlights, in Hurts continued strong season and Stevenson’s improved usage bearing fruit, but other than that, time to dust yourself off and go again. Getting Higgins back would help, plus a few positive gamescripts for Najee.

1. Patistan (2-3) – Up 1

Every week we seem to come back to Jefferson and Adams, who need a little support to be quite frank. Until proven otherwise, they are still the most consistent team in their division, which offers a far easier route to the playoffs than a league of this quality should. Coach Allen is keeping active on the personnel, he just needs a couple of hits.

1. The Dream Team (1-4) – Down 1

Until they start boosting the win column, they are going to have to keep falling. It wasn’t a terrible week, but they just can’t muster enough big performances or consistency. DJ Moore finally got some notable targets, and Henderson just got the keys, so things could be looking up.

1. Burdettinators (3-2) – Up 1

Another big score! Chalk and cheese from the start of the season. Does the Hill/Geno pickup combo suggest it has gone to his head? Maybe. But, ride the wave man. They have always been the LOC’s unltimate boom or bust team, and they are going to continue to live up to that. For now at least, everything is trending upwrds.

1. Forge Flyers (4-1) – No Change

Last week I said they were solid, but not too intimidating. Well, if Kamara gets 29 touches a game, I can go ahead and scratch that off the record. This teams weekly floor will probably end up being their strongest quality, they just seem to have a roster that comes with guaranteed touches/targets/points. They’re stuck in a bit of congestion here, could easily be another 1 or 2 spots higher.

1. Buccing The Trend (4-1) – No Change

A solid win to get them back on track, and it is important to note that they are far from fully fit, so better things still to come. This time Josh Jacobs really stepped up, having somewhat of a renaissance under Josh McDaniels, which I’m not sure many people could have claimed to see coming?

1. Gridiron Gang (3-2) – No Change

Solid week for Allen and Kelce. Some other guys were probably there as well, not that they were needed. The big news would of course be the Walker waiver add, if he can take over the backfield with the kind of role $113 would suggest, it could be a key turning point in the 2022 LOC season. Watch this space.

1. IKSAN (5-0) – No Change

Still undefeated, another quality week fuelled by a Mahomes who has more than proven that he may have been the key figure in the Hill partnership after all. Lockett turning up to 2022 will ease the woes for Connor and Harris, as would some of these CMC rumours – seriously, can you imagine him on the Bills or Chiefs?

1. Bear Necessities (3-2) – No Change

Did I curse them? Maybe. Did they deserve to win that game anyway? Probably. With a 122 score that would have beaten all but two other league members, they can feel a little hard done by. Fournette, Ekeler and Pierce are all looking better with every game they play, this team is better than 3-2.

Another week in the books, not too much change this time around, particularly at the top. I mentioned it in one of the blurbs, we are seeing a little upper-middle congestion amongst teams, so it will be interesting to see who pulls ahead. Similarly with the Winchester Division, are any of these teams even capable?

Hello Coaches! Welcome to another NFL Sunday, one which will in fact start before these Rankings reach the bustling hubbub of the internet. A new one here for me, actually writing to you as an NFL game takes place, in fact Gano has literally just kicked us off. If this was coming at you live, I could give updates, but alas. You’ll just have to make do with some slightly distracted opinions instead.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (0-4) – No Change

Pffft, that sucked. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. All the points left on the bench in what would have actually been a good week. But here we are. One good decision they made? Picking their division mates, with Winchester remaining wide open.

1. Aaronimal Crossing (0-4) – Down 1

Nice team name, not a nice week. They’re being kept from bottom spot by the poor decisions of the team below them but, arguably, they may be the worse overall team. They’re relying on Kupp and Andrews to make the difference each week.

1. U R Gould (2-2) – Down 1

A win is a win, with an excellent pick up of Williams carrying them just over the line. They need to work out their QB situation, which is holding them back currently. There are signs of a decent roster, but they can’t seem to get all the players going with any consistency.

1. Patistan (2-2) – Down 1

Is this history, right here? An entire division sat at the bottom of the Power Rankings. Well, one of these teams will make the playoffs, that is for sure, but right now they all look like the one-and-done is the best case result. Patistan are the pick of the bunch, so well done them, I guess?

1. Napolitans (2-2) – Down 1

They got blown out the water a little bit last week, with some injuries starting to pile up too. They’re striving for some consistency from the RBs which will increase the weekly floor drastically, but the total points is still good. Doesn’t help that their division looks stacked.

1. Burdettinators (2-2) – Up 4

That sneak up on anyone else? What a week. Massive score, with the whole team going above 10 points. Suddenly, they look loaded all over the roster. If they can keep this momentum going, they will look back and laugh at the sorry start.

1. The Dream Team (1-3) – Down 3

Starting to feel a bit sorry for the reigning champs. They haven’t been massive scorers by any means, and they aren’t shipping an unprecedented level coming the other way, they just can’t seem to get a result. My faith in the roster can only argue with the maths for so long.

1. Forge Flyers (3-1) – Up 1

Penny recapturing some of that late-21 form pushes this Forge Flyers team back into the standard model of RB heavy. Even without anything notable coming from Kamara, to date. Maybe not looking the most intimidating team yet, but certainly solid.

1. Buccing The Trend (3-1) – Down 2

In the battle of the undefeated teams, they came out underneath. It didn’t quite hit the heights expected, with a messy situation around Tua denying them a fair shot at the matchup. It wasn’t a terrible week, but they’ll need to bounce back to prove they deserve to be at the top of the pile.

1. Gridiron Gang (2-2) – Down 2

An off week for sure, and it ends their grip on the top spot. The good news for them, is that Melvin Gordon’s role just got far more valuable in Denver. But, as of right now, there are more consistently strong teams in the league.

1. IKSAN (4-0) – Up 3

Would they have been my pick for most likely to remain undefeated? Clearly not. But, they are, and they look good for it. They continue to climb the Rankings, and they continue to play the matchups and get good returns. A savvy season, thus far.

1. Bear Necessities (3-1) – Up 3

A very big score this week. I lauded over the RB corps to start the season, and so far they had flattered to deceive. Until Week 4. Well, now they’re the top scorers in the league and looking every bit as tough to take down as expected.

Good morning, esteemed Coaches. Another fine Sunday of sport to enjoy ahead of us. Some big NFL games, including the first London game of course, the Manchester Derby. Maybe you’re like me, and you’re looking forward to the British Open snooker final, or maybe you’re more into the London Marathon. Ah, you’ll be glad to hear we’ve reached the point, a tired and laboured cliché; the LOC fantasy season is a marathon, not a sprint. Worth it, right? No. But now, an additional curveball, this article is not a marathon, it is a sprint. So, quit dawdling.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (0-3) – Down 1

They’ve conceded a lot of points, that’s fair to point out, but they’ve scored alarmingly few. It’s already starting to look dangerously like a lost season, and giving up early on draft sleeper Doubs instantly looked like a bad idea. The only way is up.

1. Burdettinators (1-2) – Up 1

Still not the biggest score, but a vast improvement. Seeing Henry looking like a first round draft pick, and his old self, will have been a big relief. Coach Burdett will be hoping that those first two horror weeks will soon just be a distant (and bad) memory.

1. The Legend of Zuber (0-3) – No Change

Anyone else have to Google the ‘Zuber’ in question? They should perhaps feel aggrieved at remaining winless (I’m sure it will boil into another accusation-heavy group chat rant at some point…), as they’ve had some decent scores. A couple of injuries and a light bench are starting to look more impactful.

1. U R Gould (1-2) – No Change

Not a lot to get excited about in Week 3, unless you count tumbling down the coaching ranks by leaving all your top scorers on the bench? Williams could be a steal off the wire, but it still feels risky thinking the Lions can support so many fantasy relevant players.

1. Patistan (1-2) – Down 2

My Jefferson hype is starting to look misplaced, but he is a superstar and will bounce back. Maybe London is the key? Patterson continues to amaze as a now featured RB, his career comeback defies belief, so perhaps he can inspire Patistan back to better weeks.

1. Napolitans (2-1) – Up 1

Mixed scoring across the starters and the bench, overall resulting in a good week. Hurts carried them to this win, but he has a good supporting cast, just like the real-life Eagles, they have the feel of a team who will be involved until the end.

1. Forge Flyers (2-1) – Down 2

The undefeated season is gone, but this one can be chalked up as a bad week I feel. They still have good players playing featured roles in their offenses. Sutton looks like the player they wanted him to be when they drafted him, now he just needs to get into the end zone. They fell more due to the logjam of good teams around them.

1. IKSAN (3-0) – Up 2

A good week with a very balanced set of scoring across the roster. Benching Conner and Deebo, so soon after the draft, was bold, but showed that they know what they have here. A group of good, matchup-based starters, capable of winning each week. Oh, and a questionable CMC.

1. Bear Necessities (2-1) – Up 1

Reminiscent of his MVP year, this may be a good season to have Lamar on board. Maybe someone should tell the Ravens before that contract gets even more out of hand? Pierce also had his best NFL day to date, in what was a very good week.

1. The Dream Team (1-2) – Down 2

Not good. I try not to flip flop on opinions, but I guess that is what happens when you rely too heavily on WRs. Some weeks, the targets (or TDs) simply aren’t there. I trust the team to bounce back, they’re still crazy loaded, they have just shown everyone their weakness this week.

1. Buccing The Trend (3-0) – Up 1

Now, normally that would have looked like a lucky win, and you could still argue that point. But, in reality, they had three major injuries, including face-of the-franchise QB, Tua, and still came away with 75 points and an unblemished record. Let’s see how they cope with the injuries in Week 4.

1. Gridiron Gang (2-1) – Up 1

Perhaps not their most convincing win, with a big heap of K/DST points to carry them over the line, but still a good week. This team has taken a fat load of points so far, they are giving as good as they get though, and looking strong. James Robinson continues to do what he has for the whole of his career, far exceed expectations.

Hello, once again! Welcome all to another Sunday edition of the Power Rankings, courtesy of your EDOTLOCCA and his disorganised social life. So, Week 3, what have we missed so far. Half the league is at .500, we’ve got a division leader as the 7th overall seed, and the top seed has scored more than twice as many points as the bottom seed. So, nothing out of the ordinary really. Ahh, it sure is good to have the LOC back. Read on, fine folk.

1. Burdettinators (0-2) – Down 2

Another bad week for a team that looks like offseason hype was comfortably misplaced. Breece Hall getting more involved was the major positive, but he needs to get more of a hold on the Jets backfield to repay his draft position. I’m sure things will improve but, for now at least, they are justifiably bottom of the pile.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (0-2) – No Change

Last week, I said they weren’t actually that bad in the loss. This week, they were. They would have gotten blown out of the water by their opponents anyway, but having a middling DST as the high scorers was just plain bad to see. The only reason they didn’t go bottom is thanks to the graciously poor effort from Coach Burdett.

1. Mariota Kart (0-2) – Up 2

Firstly, new favourite name, period. In fact, I’m going to go ahead and say this one can’t be topped. Secondly, they had a much better Week 2. They didn’t get the win, and the bench leads you to question the depth, but they are trending back in the right direction. David Montgomery and Javontae Williams touch counts could well be the key.

1. U R Gould (1-1) – Down 2

Better performance, opposite result, exactly how things are meant to go in fantasy land. The team was more or less split down the middle, some big times performances, some no shows, one literal no show. If they’d been healthy, you can’t help but feel they may have picked up a win here. More importantly, they need to start seeing more from top selection, Cook. Didn’t deserve to drop, but had two undefeated teams below them shrug.

1. Napolitans (1-1) – Down 2

Big performance from Tyreek, if there are more of them in the bank, we’ll be laughing. Hurts also has a look of a QB who is going to supersede matchups. With Kirk and Dotson, outperforming Higgings, Pitts and even Harris, this is a strangely built roster. Though, they look ready for the fight in a competitive division. Also didn’t deserve to drop, please see above.

1. IKSAN (2-0) – Up 1

Not their most impressive week, but they netted another win to stay undefeated. Still a lot of question marks across the roster but it will be nice to see Amari Cooper recapturing some Dallas types vibes. Exactly the same stat-line in Week 3 as well, what are the odds!? See, if we were PPR, I wouldn’t be able to say that, another reason to stay far away. Yay, media propaganda!

1. Patistan (1-1) – Down 2

Hmm, big difference for key men Adams and Jefferson. And, in what was certainly a winnable week, no one else was able to make the difference. I am far from ringing alarm bells, and they sit atop a division which doesn’t scream world-beating, but it will be interesting to see whether this becomes a team that blows hot and cold.

1. Bear Necessities (1-1) – Down 2

They got the win, a comfortable win, and they scraped to over 100 points. But, nearly half of that came from Lamar in what was, quite possibly, they least Ravens-esque performance I’ve ever seen. It was still a decent week all around, although the top pick RBs don’t appear to have fully regained the roles that earned them their high draft spots. They’ve dropped more due to good performances below.

1. Forge Flyers (2-0) – Up 1

Far from the perfect team performance, but Murray, Waddle and Chubb combined to make an effortlessly high score. They’re not necessarily the most deserving team of the 2-0 record thus far, but they also just put up 120 points without top pick Kamara. There is still a lot to come from this team.

1. Buccing The Trend (2-0) – Up 6

So, posting up a modest 140, and benching a 50pt player, is this the ultimate LOC flex? I’m not really sure what to say, other than that the Tua hate should probably slow down, the Lions are rockstars and Wentz…. Errr…. I dunno, these words all feel strange. Either way, Coach Taylor was clearly languishing below his place. I try not to overreact with weekly movements, but this had to change.

1. Gridiron Gang (1-1) – Down 1

Not a bad week, but came up against a stronger team. We may have seen some of their fragility in Week 2, with Josh Allen picking up a fair amount of slack and covering for his teammates. Kelce will bounce back, but we will wait to see what other strong contributors emerge on a consistent level.

1. The Dream Team (1-1) – Up 1

I said the first win was close, and it was an impressive one. Seeing Moore and Williams more involved is very encouraging, but Diggs is the superstar. This receiver heavy approach could be talked about for years if they all keep performing.

Good afternoon, coaches! It’s the second NFL weekend of the year and we have another full night of football ahead. It’s also the first week of the year where I’m late with my Rankings, start as you mean to go on and all that jazz. So, I shall not keep you eager beavers waiting any longer, let us see how you all shuffle around with some actual football under your belts. Rankings time.

1. Pittsman (0-1) – No Change

No matter which side of the conspiracy debate you fall on, we can all appreciate the injustice that happened last week. We can also say that, with or without those extra 3 points, it wasn’t going to be a score worth celebrating. Add in losing Dak to the equation, and you can see why they haven’t managed to move up this week.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (0-1) – No Change

Week 1 wasn’t actually terrible. They lost, comfortably to a better team, but still put up a respectable score. Then TNF happened, and they started off Week 2 with an inactive kicker. Outrageous. Inexcusable. A terrible ambassador for the league. Lucky to cling on to spot 11, I for one would vote for them to have all LOC duties and responsibilities removed, with immediate effect.

Anyway, enough messing around. If I got once laugh, I’m saying that was worth it. On with the Rankings.

1. Burdettinators (0-1) – Down 2

Sometimes, it’s hard to work out why a team lost. Other times, it’s hard to work out quite who you are most upset with, because your entire team sucked. This was not an example of the former. Wilson was alright, Henry still got a huge workload, Juju had a good target share, it wasn’t all bad. Watson may be in the doghouse for that drop for a little while though.

1. Buccing The Trend (1-0) – Up 1

Well, Tua didn’t answer too many questions, but he didn’t need to with those RB performances. Swift and Barkley were both electric, with CEH looking handy on the bench. It’s only one week into the season, but that looks encouraging. No one else laid out too much of a marker in Week 1, but they have time to work out the best starting roster.

1. IKSAN (1-0) – Up 1

I said they’d make me look bad, but it was mainly just down to Mahomes this week. He certainly doesn’t seem too affected from the loss of Tyreek Hill. Gibson and Carter both made good use of their touches, and if they can hold off respective rookies, this could be a very deep squad. It would be good to see more of CMC in the Baker era, is he still the game-changer?

1. U R Gould (1-0) – No Change

The term gypsy win is probably overused in this league, but this was the Tyson Fury of fantasy wins. Week 1, score in the 70s, win by a point, after a stat-correction. If that is a warning for the season, the rest of the league will hate playing them. It is hard to move them down after a win, but shaky QB play and losing Pittman (they’re top performer in Week 1) isn’t ideal and is certainly stopping any ascent.

1. Napolitans (0-1) – Down 2

A slightly DST-inflated score here? They were the Dolphins we were focused on with this roster. Hurts looked good, but Harris looked like he will face the same struggles as last year, without such a heavy usage. There is lots still to prove pretty much roster-wide. If Dotson can become a Wentz favourite target, he could be an absolute steal.

1. Forge Flyers (1-0) – No Change

Well, doesn’t matter how you win, as they say. Poor kicker and DST points actually make this week look worse that it was as well. Not to mention losing Mitchell halfway through the game. Anderson and Landry were nice additions, if Chubb and Hunt can both be weekly starters as well, they will be very happy with that result.

1. Patistan (1-0) – Up 2

Well, they more or less took shape as promised, big WR performances and solid play from Herbert. An impressive win in Week 1, with the heavy lifting done by Jefferson and Adams. I see no reason not to expect that to continue, so this could be a season of searching for the right complimentary pieces. Patterson exceeded expectations on the bench, but they were otherwise light there.

1. Bear Necessities (0-1) – Down 2

Well, that didn’t go quite as I expected. It was far from a bad week, but their strong core of RBs near unilaterally underwhelmed. Only AJ Brown really looked dominant for them, with his target share and usage no doubt a relief to Coach Stubbs Sr. Other than that, safe to say they left a lot on the field, we’ll see how Week 2 goes before overreacting.

1. The Dream Team (0-1) – No change

Up and down, could have been better, but could have been much worse for the defending champs. Safe to say, they would have liked to start with a win, particularly after posting over 100 points, but they should be happy that the WR heavy strategy is going to pay dividends in terms of points. No change for them yet, the first win shouldn’t be far away.

1. Gridiron Gang (1-0) – Up 2

Well, we mentioned the TE/QB high draft capital plays last week, and they look masterful so far. They couldn’t have had a better start to the season, with solid scoring across the board. Mike Thomas and James Robinson both also proved they are going to maintain huge roles in their offenses, potentially both draft day steals.

Nothing too drastic in Week 1 then. Although, we also have a 50:50 split of winners and loser in the top and bottom half of the Rankings, so perhaps I’m just getting lenient. Check in again next week to have those and other questions answered!

Good evening, everyone! I had a simple plan for tonight; write Power Rankings. They somehow feel a little less meaningful since the news from Buckingham Palace, however. So, with the rain mercilessly beating at the windowpanes, and feeling perhaps more British than I’d ever thought possible, we turn to the west and to the land of hope and glory. We beckon a new NFL season and, more importantly still, a new LOC season, hoping it too is filled with that hope and that glory. How naïve we remain. For now though, on with the frivolities.

1. Maxx Effect

Rule 1 of post draft Rankings: Auto-draft teams come at the bottom. They never look as bad on paper as they feel in the room though and, with the most ridiculously talented TE room ever assembled, they’re going to be a thorn some weeks. And, sporting a very well-received new moniker, Coach Nunn will relish climbing these Rankings – as he always bloody well does.

Rule 2: The rest of these Rankings are the analyst’s equivalent of 52 card pickup.

1. Tom’s Tyrants

Entering the team into the roster for the first time and seeing the waves of ‘Q’s that came with them more or less sums up their Ranking. The RB room looks very shaky to start the season (outside of No. 1 gift, Taylor), and it was meant to be the strength after heavy investment. So, this team could take a while to get going. We’ve heard that one before. Getting Brady late was a big bonus.

1. Buccing The Trend

Drafting a QB in fantasy is very easy. In fact, often it is waiting on one that is quite hard. If you enter the draft knowing you don’t want one particular QB, it is a fairly easy thing to avoid them. Well. Enter Coach Taylor. Waiting until 15 QBs had already been selected, Tua (once again) became the one. This could make their season, or it could crush an otherwise well-constructed team. I love the draft, it makes people do crazy things.

1. IKSAN

This feels like a trap team to me. It also feels like Coach Sherwood always plays this game with me, baiting me into ranking him too low and then making be look foolish. Luckily, I lost my dignity writing these Rankings far too long ago to care about silly things like that. Mahomes, Cooper, Deebo, Gibson, they were all players I was avoiding at their draft positions, almost certainly meaning they will come bargains.

1. Burdettinators

Yet another classic Burdettinators team. Upside, hype, impact rookies. Boom, got the lot. What felt like slight reaches for Hall and Etienne have a good chance of looking like masterstrokes. Henry and Lamb will be relied on as the engines to keep the points churning whilst the others spark and flair. The grand plan didn’t work out for them last season, but this looks like a decent mix.

1. U R Gould

This is an upside team if ever I saw one. With a roster bereft of RBs outside the top two picks (both very good picks I might add), they’ll be hoping for some of these WRs to become target vacuums to avoid massive weekly flux. Pittman is the strongest bet, but Toney is also a dark horse. A title fitting to this team, and Coach in fact.

1. Patistan

Starting from a tough draft spot, Jefferson was a real win and Adams was a good example of BPA. Their WRs are very, very good, and should see high volumes of targets. The RBs provide less value at draft position, with mostly shared committee roles. This can work if the offense roles, but perhaps more WRs would have been the bolder move. Can’t knock Herbert at that spot, he has a realistic route to QB1.

1. Forge Flyers

Biggest shock? They didn’t switch draft spots, having earned the honour with an exemplar season last year, built from a strong draft. The draft spot led to tough decisions in the opening rounds, they stuck to their roots and favoured the RB strategy, despite some tempting receivers. My favourite RB they picked was actually Penny, in the later rounds. He, along with Murray, could help them get off to a fast start this season.

1. Napolitans

The fact that Kyle Pitts starts the season warming the bench tells you what you need to know about this team, they have great options. Harris, Higgins and Hill would probably have ranked fairly lowly on my first 3 round Rankings, far from safe bets. But the later picks of Kirk, Edmonds and Stevenson, all at good value, have them looking strong. If the Dolphins Offense looks like The Dolphins think it will, this team will be very good.

1. Gridiron Gang

The start of their draft probably didn’t go as they thought. In fact, Coach Stubbs Jr. has been fairly open about that. Having a TE and QB so early can cause questionable depth, but it can also mean you have an outrageous TE/QB combo that will be matchup proof. Robinson and Woods were two of my favourite picks of the draft, this team has great depth.

1. The Dream Team

This is not just the best WR room in the league this season, it is the best one we’ve ever seen. I mean, I haven’t got the details in front of me, but it has to be right? They’ve also got the best QB room to back it up. The RBs aren’t currently atop their depths chart, but all have obvious paths to valuable touches, and the guaranteed touches will come from the receivers. From the back of the board, they’ve played this well.

1. Bear Necessities

I think I can comfortably say that this is the strongest RB room in the league. As of right now, they have 4 RBs at the top of their depth charts and with guaranteed workload, dreamy stuff. And, it didn’t come at the cost of other high picks, with AJ Brown and Lamar Jackson still consuming high draft capital. If Brown has the same impact he had in Tennessee, watch out.

And, there we have it. It’s still raining, and Week 1 Power Rankings are still a nightmare to try and put together with any ounce of confidence. If they carried more weight, I’d dedicate them to Liz, but instead I’ll just wish everyone an excellent season. Bring it on.

Good evening, Coaches! We’ve made it to the end of the regular season! Our new, expanded playoffs which I totally understood all season and in no way misled anyone. There is plenty to celebrate for some, a rookie in the playoffs, consecutive regular season crowns, and, most impressively of all, a first season (by this writer) with no missed articles! I jest, I’m clearly just green with envy at having no fantasy success of my own to celebrate. Anyway, as has become tradition, the final Power Rankings of the season will be a look back at how teams were ranked after draft day, when we all still had hope in our heart. And, if you can’t be bothered with all that, my thoughts on the playoffs are at the end. Either way, enjoy this final edition!

To refresh everyone’s memory, teams are shown in order of final standings, with my Week 1 ranking in brackets.

1. U R Gould (10) 3-11 Final Record

The most notable thing about this team, post-Draft, was that they came away without a QB. Perhaps I underestimated quite the influence that would have – OBJ wasn’t the only person who spent too much of the season relying on Baker. I wasn’t too far off the mark though.

1. Burdettinators (8) 5-9 Final Record

Another team I overestimated slightly, although they lost Gus Edwards before the season had even started and Calvin Ridley part way through, understandably affecting their final standing. In general, I questioned the depth and thought Dak could be a steal, not bad again.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (9) 5-9 Final Record

More or less on with this one as well, overly reliant on Murray to be an x-factor in a team that struggled for standout performers. A decent points scored and end of season form showed the makings of a solid team, but it was never any more than that.

1. Patistan (1) 5-9 Final Record

Yeah, so, miles out. But, they did make the playoffs based on their points scoring, so I’m going to cut myself a little slack. They stayed at the top of the Rankings for a while, and then, as is tradition for Patistan, the injuries set in. All in all, they’ll be happy they’re in the playoffs, that’s all that matters.

1. FTMAL (12) 6-8 Final Record

There was a short while when I thought that FTMAL, and the gods of the auto-draft, were going to make me, and the rest of the league, look rather silly. As it was, they ran out of steam and did topple down the rankings, still far exceeding my early season expectations mind.

1. Gridiron Gang (5) 6-8 Final Record

Not far off in placement, but way off in analysis. Zeke and Nuk, who I questioned, were the driving force behind the more successful parts of Gridiron Gang’s season. Injuries were a constant issue for them, but I was correct with questioning whether QB would hold them back – it did.

1. Buccing The Trend (2) 7-7 Final Record

A team I was clearly too high on, for times this season they looked like they would like up to my dark horse label. I wasn’t convinced by Sanders, but it turned out they had several other question marks leading to vastly inconsistent scoring throughout the season.

1. Bear Necessities (4) 7-7 Final Record

Pretty close on this one, but off the mark on analysis again, thinking Diggs and Wilson would be the x-factors, when in fact Swift and Fournette were the difference makers. I’m not giving myself any points for calling Kelce a key player, that’s the equivalent on betting on another Covid Christmas…

1. Napolitans (6) 7-7 Final Record

For a long while, my ranking looked terrible, a team that nothing was going right for up until mid-season. From there, it became the Jonathon Taylor show, as he dragged them into the playoffs. Lamar and, eventually, Kittle also proved key, with the what I deemed a ‘good value’ draft proving correct.

1. IKSAN (11) 9-5 Final Record

My biggest failing, they far exceeded my expectations. Because I absolutely refuse to be entirely wrong, I will point out that my biggest negative on them was a lack of spark, and that has been the case for a decent part of the season. A well-balanced team was their greatest strength.

1. The Dream Team (3) 12-2 Final Record

Pretty close here, as they only slightly exceeded my expectation. I liked the explosive players and high upside rookies, all of whom seem to have come off. And that’s how to go 12-2, folks.

1. Forge Flyers (7) 12-2 Final Record

The other run-away team this year, but I was a long way off post-draft. There isn’t too much to report really, I was just very wrong. Coach Leach saw the potential in these players where I, and others, doubted it, and to say he proved his point doesn’t quite do it justice.

Believe it or not, that is actually slightly better than I managed last year. The analysis was invariably closer than the actual rank, admittedly. None bang on the money either, which I’ll admit has disappointed me – luckily I’ve gotten used to disappointment this season.

So, let’s try our luck with some playoff predictions. Last year I did nail this but, as I’ve already mentioned, I’ve only just grasped the playoff format, let alone the teams in it.

Let’s see, the battle of the wildcard, in which health/covid looks to be playing a key role. For me, the matchups are near unilaterally with IKSAN, who have also been the more consistent team of late, hard to go any other way.

The next round is when the big hitters come in, and we’ve seen what they’ve been doing all season. Outside of another Jonathan Taylor 50-pointer, I think it would be crazy to bet against either of them.

Which leaves us the big one. Anyone following the rankings this season will have spotted that I have been a bigger fan of The Dream Team, partly due to health, but Forge Flyers constantly defied my doubts to claim the Regular Season Crown (again). The matchup of the week is undoubtedly Rodgers against the Vikes, with most others being middling to poor. Having said all that, I’m sticking to my guns. Coach Nathwani to pick up a first (and overdue) Stubbs trophy.

Hello, hello! Welcome to the final week of the regular season! We’ve finally made it and, thanks to the expanded playoffs and rule changes, never have we had so many teams still with a chance of doing just that – making it. With current seeds 4-8 all on the same record, and seed 9 also still very much in contention, this year has proven a record low for forking, I guess no one is mathematically out, but we might need to see a 200-club entry for some of them to make it. Not sure we could handle even more excitement with the chaos that is bound to ensue! Anyway, back to the final league-wide Rankings of the season, enjoy!

Firstly, we have the teams that have spent the last few weeks very much along for the ride.

1. U R Gould (3-10) No Change

So, Week 13 was the whimper that should have secured the No. 1 overall draft pick. But, thanks to good old RNG, tanking is a fruitless endeavour in the LOC. Playing Mac Jones, in a night when he attempted just 3 (three!) passes, more or less sums up their season, unfortunately. On the upside, TNF heroics from a finally healthy Dalvin Cook has nearly matched their Week 13 output. I feel like the importance of draft day will have been reiterated for LOC14.

1. Burdettinators (5-8) No Change

Well, that is quite the feather in their cap. In a season where more or less nothing went right for them, they toppled the team that had only lost once previously. Goes without saying that it of course counts for nothing, but nice to be able to say they did it at least.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (5-8) No Change

The best of the rest, for whatever solace that brings. Hint; none. Finally hitting their stride in this far too late portion of the season, we’re seeing glimpses of what could have been. An admirable attempt at spoiling it for another team in Week 13 as well.

Right, into the quagmire that is the playoff race. Good luck. I’ve thrown in some playoff chance percentages, just for fun. Disclaimer; the grand total of maths that went into the percentages was making sure they added up to 300% for the three spots available, nothing else, deal with it.

1. FTMAL (6-7) No Change

Despite what I can only assume is the most points ever scored by the TE position for any one team in any week of any season, they were a long way off the pace last week, as they have looked for most of the second half of the season. They’re behind on points, and they’ve got a tough matchup to finish the season. Playoff chance: 20%

7.5. Buccing The Trend (6-7) Down 0.5 & Gridiron Gang (6-7) Down 1.5

Right, stay with me here, I’m trying something new. Basically, I’m fed up of writing what more or less amounts to the same blurb twice for these guys, they have been near inseparable for the past several weeks. They both tallied decent scores last week, but were far from competitive in their respective matchups. After 13 weeks of competition, a mere 11 points splits them and now, fittingly, they face each other in Week 14 in what could well be a ‘winner is in’ situation. It is most definitely a ‘loser is out’ scenario, though. I literally can’t split them anymore.

Well, maybe, just about. The Wilson and Jones plays from BTT seem risky, but Kamara should go off. GG are more solid, but Michel, Hopkins and Jacobs could all have matchups go against them. Taysom Hill, the ultimate TD vulture is my X-Factor. Never thought it would come down to that. Playoff chances: GG 43%, BTT 42%

1. Bear Necessities (6-7) Down 2

It was a good week, but it wasn’t good enough. If anyone was going to separate themselves, I thought it would be Coach Stubbs Sr, but they missed their chance. Their points for leaves them in a good spot, they are very much a win and in candidate, with a potential lose and in as well. But, I don’t think I was alone in believing Mattison was going to provide them more RB1 games than he did, an early return from Cook could make the TNF performance a critical moment in this playoff race. Playoff chance: 50%

1. Patistan (5-8) Up 3

Right, last week I said they did themselves no favours, this time around everything went right. With all of the 6-6 teams fluffing their lines, Napolitans (more on them soon) managed to sneak into the playoff seeds, leaving points for as a near 1-horse race, a situation I predicted a few weeks prior. Also helping, a league-leading score on the week, impressively compiled without any abnormally high individual scores and losing several key cogs to byes – they look dangerous again. Playoff chance: 70%

1. Napolitans (6-7) Up 1

The only team that still has two realistic routes into the playoffs, they are one last good week away from completing a remarkable turnaround. Getting Kittle back in full swing is ideal timing, but they also lost Moore just as he was proving to be a useful contributor. An ill-timed bye week for Taylor, to say the least, at the most critical point of the season so far. Playoff chance: 75%

And breathe again, we’ve gotten through the storms and into clear water.

1. IKSAN (8-5) No Change

It’s been coming for a little while, but they have secured their spot with a consistent run of scoring and wins. The variety of options they have made for themselves when picking the roster each week is what has gotten them to this place. I would imagine Coach Sherwood would have no qualms with being placed in his own little tier here, the important thing is that they have risen from that convoluted mess beneath them.

They’ve been in their own tier for the rest of the season, seems silly to take it away from them now.

1. Forge Flyers (11-2) No Change

Remarkably, a loss. I would imagine no one saw that coming. Still the number 1 seed and favourite to do the double on the regular season crown, I think their sights have been set on the post season for quite a while now. It was still a decent score even on a losing week with Rodgers on a bye.

1. The Dream Team (11-2) No Change

Also looking for a second chance at the rule named after him, Coach Nathwani holds onto my top spot. They’ve held onto Williams for the entire season, and he looks to have come good at just the right time, matchups and opportunity could make him the key guy for the playoff run.

And there we have it, I have done all that I can. No doubt, my sage words have helped each and every one of you through this tumultuous season. And, for that reason, I feel that it is only fitting that I too can claim to be a part of the glorious post season. Yeah, we’ll go with that. See you all there! Looking like they’re going to blow a very promising start, they haven’t been able to adjust throughout the season like they did last campaign. NFL equivalent: Broncos.

They did themselves absolutely no favours last week, and this seemingly stacked roster now seems a strong candidate to be on the outside looking in. NFL equivalent: Browns.

1. Buccing The Trend (6-6) Down 1

Bad, then good, then bad again, then… oh you get the picture, consistency has been their greatest enemy this year. NFL equivalent: Raiders.

1. Gridiron Gang (6-6) Down 1

Back to better scoring form but not managing to get a win and some much needed breathing space, injuries continue to haunt them. NFL equivalent: 49ers.

1. Napolitans (5-7) Down 1

Their first falter for a while, but they still seem to be in a good spot, in need of a bounce back week. NFL equivalent: Colts

1. Bear Necessities (6-6) Up 5

A massive jump justified by both a seismic swing in their favour and also the coup of securing Mattison for the rest of the season – possibly the most ‘everything went right’ week in LOC history? NFL equivalent: Bengals

1. IKSAN (7-5) No Change

Not at their best early in the season, but roster quality if shining through and they look good for the post season. NFL equivalent: Chiefs.

Health seems to be a non-factor, they are just a winning machine. NFL equivalent: Packers.

Young, explosive and exciting, plus they win a lot of games. NFL equivalent: Cardinals.

There’s nothing quite like starting to show signs of life after the entire world has given up on you. Boosting up these rankings would be no different to that oh so classic madden commentary line of, ‘rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic’, but they can take solace from the fact they are no longer the bottom overall seed.

1. Burdettinators (3-8) No Change

Speaking of which, we have a new bottom overall seed. It seems at this stage they are only playing to post new low scores on the season, and it is more or less a one horse race as they try to out do themselves. They have been a little unlucky with injuries but, for all the tinkering, haven’t managed to work it out this year. Maybe a low risk 2022 draft? Nah, no chance.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (3-8) No Change

At this stage of the seasons, we more or less expect a fork a week, and far be it for me to disappoint! Unless you count the fact that this is, of course, my team and they have been heavily disappointing all season. They actually sit 6th in the points for table, showing what could have been, but would need to catch up nearly 30 points a week to get into that last playoff spot – too much.

1. Bear Necessities (5-6) No Change

Above the fork-zone, we have a very interesting situation. Thanks to a somewhat uninspiring win, and points accumulated in the early stages of the season, they’re only one game outside the playoffs at the moment. Do they look likely to make up that ground and hang on to their points advantage though? They need to get some consistency out of their RBs, but they are in with a far better shout than spot 9 suggests.

1. FTMAL (6-5) Down 2

And, that is why I didn’t boost them last week. The Pat Mahomes bye probably won’t make things any better either, right? They aren’t in a bad position league-wide, but they are clinging on to say the least. If they can find a way to win this week, in a favourable matchup form wise, they will restore some faith, but right now they seem like the most likely 6-5 team to miss out.

1. Patistan (4-7) Up 1

Another unlucky defeat for this team, but things actually didn’t go too badly for them. They put up some good points and reminded everyone why this roster looked so stacked to start the season. But more importantly, with the litany of floundering 6-5 teams above them, their biggest contender for the points for playoff spot looks like they could bust in on record instead, leaving the door wide open…

1. Buccing The Trend (6-5) Down 2

After exploding for the middle part of the season, they appear to have reverted to early season form, which is not good. Tua for Tannehill seems pretty meh at the moment, and a complete stake of the NOLA backfield doesn’t appear as valuable as it was. They’ll be relying on receivers again, receivers who went full M.I.A. last week.

1. Gridiron Gang (6-5) Down 2

Have I been cutting them a bit too much slack? Going even worse than the 60 pointer last week, they really did not deserve to get the win, and would have found themselves even lower if the record was the other side of .500. They need to get fit again, they’ve had too many starters out for too long and are at risk of missing out thanks to a 3rd worst points for.

1. Napolitans (5-6) Up 3

The march goes on, nearly up into that best of the rest points position now, although also only 1 game outside the playoffs on record. They seem almost a certainty at this stage, which is crazy when you think where they were a few weeks ago. It would be remiss of me not to mention that 85 of the points this week came from two players (one DST), but who cares, it was 85 frickin’ points!

1. IKSAN (6-5) Up 2

It’s already been noted that there are a lot of 6-5 teams, but critically IKSAN have separated themselves from the rest with a better points total and better current form. They’re also healthier than their nearest rivals and, should it stay that way, look the most likely to still be in a playoff spot in 3 weeks time.

1. Forge Flyers (10-1) Down 1

They hang on to top spot in the seedings, but the tides appear to have turned slightly. A classic championship team, they continue to churn out big points from big players, Rodgers and Mixon doing the heavy lifting this week. But with more role players being plucked from the street (don’t get me wrong, some of them are working out very nicely), they aren’t quite the powerhouse they were. Getting Patterson back healthy and continued growth from Mooney will help.

1. The Dream Team (9-2) Up 1

We’ve known which two teams were going to be top of the seedings for what seems like forever now. We still don’t know which of them will enter the playoffs as the favourite, however. Back-to-back high scoring weeks is a pretty good way to stake your claim though. They are healthier than their main rivals and more capable of winning from all over the roster right now. After a brief hiatus, they reclaim top spot.

Well, this is shaping up for another excellent LOC playoff race. With 4 places still very much up for grabs, and the 4th-6th seeded teams all outside the top 6 in points for, anything could happen. And, for that, we must all indeed be thankful. Apart from the 3 forked teams of course, you have my permission to be bitchy.

We broke into the cutlery draw last week, and certain coaches may be concerned about it returning to further haunt them. In related news, it was another generally low scoring week, so if this edition seems particularly mean, don’t blame me. Blame the NFL. Read on for rankings…

1. U R Gould (3-7) No Change

Yeah! Way to say ‘fork you’ to the fork. I mean, it changes nothing, I’m sure they realise that, but nothing wrong with still proving you have a heartbeat every now and again. In what has been one of the longest, and lowest returning, QB sagas in LOC history, Cam Newton could be the guy – you know, if they actually started him.

1. Burdettinators (3-7) Down 1

In an LOC themed relegation 6 pointer, they knew a lot was riding on last week. They didn’t do quite enough, despite another big Dak performance, and as a result, we get our second forked team. They’ve lost too much ground to make back, and losing Aaron Jones adds insult to injury. Or, I suppose, injury to insult, on this occasion.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (3-7) Up 1

Another team that just seems to be running out of time. A roster that has plenty of players with big weeks in the tank, but seems to lack the week to week consistency. Mike Evans has been the standout, but they would have expected more from most of the rest of their drafted roster. Wilson needs to be in hero mode for the stretch.

Healthier than they have been since they sat atop these rankings, and still holding on to the highest score outside of the top 2, spot number 8 feels harsh. The reliance on the Panthers offense should diminish with Montgomery’s return, but the roles Moore and CMC hold with Cam back does concern me.

1. Napolitans (4-6) Up 2

They’ve gone from a team that everyone was rooting for just to pick up a win, to the form team in the league making a mad charge up the seedings, and rankings. They’ve still got a bit of work to do, and to keep the head of steam up, but at this stage, and with the form of the team, there seems to be almost an inevitability that they will claim the points-based playoff spot.

1. FTMAL (6-4) No Change

Hmm, I only dropped them last week, but their position here far from matches their seeding. They put up a decent score, but half of it was from the QB, so I’m not going to overreact. That being said, if what we have just seen from the all-fired-up Mahomes is the return to MVP level form everyone has been waiting for, this team becomes instantly dangerous again. Watch this space.

1. IKSAN (5-5) No Change

Normally, I’d be looking to drop a team putting up a 60 pointer from this high in the rankings, but the low scoring week and performances from surrounding teams has stopped me. Getting Chubb and Harris back from short absences will help settle the ship in what remains one of the most well-balances rosters in the league.

Having Ingram ready and waiting for Kamara’s return is definitely a good thing, but they’ll be relying on WRs Metcalf and Pittman to keep the points up in the meantime.

Now this is just getting creepy. But equally, it proves my thrice-made point. Unless of course, you only read your only team’s blurb, in which case the joke will have gone straight over your head and this would make no sense at all. Oh yeah, Gridiron Gang analysis – good roster, bad week, will bounce back. Nailed it.

1. The Dream Team (8-2) No Change

And there was the return to form. Could have been more explosive admittedly, but they still top scored on the week with what seemed like relatively little effort. Hill and Williams were the standouts this time around, with plenty of others chipping in with useful contributions. Pretty sure that is how championship level teams normally work.

1. Forge Flyers (9-1) No Change

Good job these two have each other for company at the top, the towering pedestal would be frightfully lonely otherwise. They did have a rather bad week injury wise, Carson out for the season along with knocks to Patterson and Brown, but I only just gave them top spot, so I won’t be taking it away until proven otherwise.

Although it won’t matter to that particular team, points scored is of course claiming a new mantle this season, and some teams will be starting to look in that direction. I, for one, am a big fan of the new format. It’s going to keep things pretty interesting down the stretch, for most teams…

Staying at the bottom, this may be one of the teams who doesn’t have a particularly interesting stretch run. Joint bottom on records and nearly 180 points of the current best of the rest playoff spot, yeah, that is a mountain to climb. It’s too early for mathematical forking, but consider this one big ass statistical one.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-7) No Change

Only better than the team below them on points scored, the season is well on the way towards being lost. They have got just enough potentially big scorers to cling on to some hope, but they are nearly 90 points short, so can’t afford any more meh weeks. Not that last week was even good enough to class as meh.

1. Burdettinators (3-6) Down 1

But, chipping in with the worst score of the week (and season? Someone please fact check me, I cba), is another team whose playoff hopes are dwindling rapidly. Loosing Edmonds was the icing on the cake, except the opposite of that, and the roster is really on the ropes now.

1. Napolitans (3-6) Up 1

For a team that wallowed at the bottom of these rankings for so long, they have really started to separate themselves from the teams below, thanks to a remarkable uptick in form. Taylor is the form RB in the league right now, and with Smith starting to show up and Kittle back from IR, there are plenty of reasons to be positive.

1. Patistan (4-5) No Change

That was unfortunate. 91 isn’t normally a shoe in for a gameweek winning score, but with all the poor performances in week 9, it looked like it would be. They’ve got CMC back, and along with Moore, the outlook of this Panthers offense will almost certainly be the key to their playoff push. They are in the playoff spot right now of course, probably making this ranking a little harsh.

Two bad weeks in a row had to drop them another notch. The good news is that they are over their major bye weeks, and they have Wilson back. It leaves them in a better spot that it may look. But the time to turn it around is right now, a statement score this week would be nice timing.

1. FTMAL (5-4) Down 2

Last week unlucky, this time around, lucky. But more importantly, back to winning ways. So why the drop? They continue to look like a beatable team. At the start of the seasons, we thought they’d be relying on their top draft picks. Well, Mahomes, Robinson and even Adams to a degree, haven’t quite been the consistent game winners we expected. Not by the very high bars they have set, anyway.

1. IKSAN (5-4) Up 2

A good week and a good win, even without talisman Allen. Covid issues and injuries have cost them some depth this week, but this team has built a really solid roster, kind of under the radar. I quite like the Lockett trade, they have more openings in the receiving room than in the backfield, and he has the big play connection with Wilson that could make a difference.

1. Buccing The Trend (6-3) Up 1

The comeback is officially complete, and they can now focus on staying at the top of their division. The Kamara injury is concerning, but sounds mild. Assuming they get him back quickly, he should continue to pay back his high draft price, looking more like his former self in recent weeks.

1. Gridiron Gang (5-4) No Change

A little bit of luck in the results column was overdue I’d say. The bad news this week was losing Woods, but they have been doing plenty of wheeling and dealing, so they should have managed to acquire plenty of cover. The tests will keep coming, and they haven’t got too much wriggle room in the win column or points scored.

1. The Dream Team (7-2) Down 1

Herbert kept the score looking decent. I don’t think there are many reasons to assume this loaded roster won’t return to form. Getting Robinson back would be a bonus, but they have plenty of home run hitters to keep the scores up in the mean time.

1. Forge Flyers (8-1) Up 1

Despite a covid outbreak and, even worse, starting multiple Jets, they made it work and got the win. So, as promised, they have claimed the top spot in the rankings. Without Carson and Henry, they aren’t as terrifying as they once were, but Mixon has also been fantastic. This latest win is a testament to a well drafted and well managed team.

Welcome Coaches! Glad you could join me for yet another foray into the fantastic world of Power Rankings. We may find ourselves in a slightly briefer version than normal, I am choosing to blame my busy weekend schedule, although it is also fair to assume that my personal 4 loss streak is starting to sap enthusiasm. At least I can still take some solace from writing about some notably better teams below. Speaking of which…

1. U R Gould (2-6) Down 1

Okay, reverse rankings mean that I don’t actually start with the solace of notably better teams, but whatever. An outrageous performance from draftee turned trade acquisition, Carter, wasn’t enough to drag them above another ‘meh’ scoring week. You really must question how Baker Mayfield has managed to start so many games for them this season. OBJ did it, worked out for him.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-6) Down 1

The early season success of Murray has faded slightly, and the importance of that to this team is obvious. In a season that has more or less gotten a way now, they will look for some big performances from Deebo, Najee and Murray to try and pick up a few more wins.

1. Napolitans (2-6) Up 1

I have mentioned a couple of times that they probably didn’t deserve to be the bottom team still, well now they aren’t. It isn’t too late, and Jonathan Taylor looks like the top RB in the league since Henry’s injury, but they need to keep the forward momentum going.

1. Burdettinators (3-5) Up 1

Moving them up at this stage purely as a note of an easier route to the playoffs. But they still have work to do to make that route a realistic one, very much a ‘best of the rest’ sort of situation. The loss of Ridley, for the majority of the season seemingly, can’t be understated, but they have struggled to fill out other roster places consistently. Maybe OBJ will land somewhere lucky?

1. Patistan (4-4) Down 1

On the right side of an oddly Tampa-themed matchup, they showed there is still plenty of juice left in the tank. They only dropped because of the form of the team below them. The IR list seemed to grow each week as well, which is sort of fun, in a way. Combined with bye week necessity though, it has led to a Taysom Hill run out, and that is definitely always fun.

1. IKSAN (4-4) Down 1

Back to winning ways and sat in a very competitive position, they are looking in a reasonably good spot to hit the critical part of the regular season. James Conner’s expanding role has been key, and has given them a solid stable of RBs to build a roster from each week.

1. Bear Necessities (4-4) Down 3

Yeah, a week in the 50 point range tends not to go unnoticed in articles such as this one. I have no real reason to assume it might happen again, just a collectively unfortunate week, but still. More importantly, who would have thought we’d have gotten to the stage where dropping AD could look regrettable?

1. Buccing The Trend (5-3) Up 3

Well, they started off as my dark horses, and, after a slow start, they have finally stormed out of the gates. They were comfortably the top scorers on the week and now, just like that, they are back atop the division and in the no. 3 seed. Things change so quickly in this league. They haven’t got too much depth to write home about, so they need the starters to stay hot.

1. FTMAL (4-4) Up 1

Wow, they were close to making the most of a good, and rare, opportunity presented by one of the LOC power couple (lol, interesting imagery). They haven’t lost too much ground in the divisional race, but need to get back to the larger scoring weeks they are capable of. Getting a now, theoretically, well-rested Adams back should help.

1. Gridiron Gang (4-4) Up 1

Unfortunate to come up against the only other team to score north of 100 points last week, but still plenty of positives to draw. I said that this team could cause problems when they got fully healthy again, they are more or less there, so time to make good on that potential.

1. Forge Flyers (7-1) No Change

We know how much their high octane offense has relied on Henry, so it will be interesting to see how that effects them going forward. They still won relatively comfortably, even with Henry leaving early, and they’ve sensibly picked up the two most likely beneficiaries. Oh, and the rest of the team is still great. Watch this space though.

1. The Dream Team (7-1) No Change

Pfft, snuck it. That was the definition of winning on a bad week and it would have probably been enough to drop them out of top spot were it not for the injury already talked about thoroughly enough in the previous blurb. The top seeds face off this week, so that will most likely make the decision for me next week.

I was going to say ‘another trip to’, but realised that was a reference back to the old days of ‘EDOTLOCCA’s Corner’, which some of you will of course recall was an even more vague and subjective piece of weekly literature. So, next time you are questioning quite which direction a particular thought train will drift from the correct tracks, remember ‘EDOTLOCCA’s Corner’, and think about how much worse it could have been. With that said, enjoy;

1. Napolitans (1-6) No Change

A decent week for them, notwithstanding the loss, but they should be getting used to them. Booker looks like he will do a decent job filling in for Saquon, and Taylor is well in rhythm now. They just need to catch a couple of breaks and they will pick up wins. Keeping Burrow simply for a bye-week replacement seems like a lost trade opportunity.

1. U R Gould (2-5) No Change

Having now scored the lowest total points by some margin, a team that looked rudderless post-draft has managed to drift into particularly stormy waters. The roster, particularly the receivers, doesn’t actually seem too bad, they just don’t seem to be able to get any kind of consistency going week to week. A lesson in draft day availability may, and should, have been learnt.

1. Burdettinators (3-4) Down 1

Their QBs have been their strength all season, in fact I’m surprised one hasn’t been moved to try and boost a roster that is otherwise not hitting the right gears. I called them boom or bust to start the season, but the lack of boom they are getting, particularly from Jones and Ridley, is concerning to say the least. Taking some shots on some guys coming back from injuries could help.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-5) Down 1

Underwhelming would be an understatement. Missing out on close losses when they had the chance is coming back to bite them now the team is not performing as well. To stay competitive, the notoriously slow starters will have to do something shortly, at 2-5 the season is starting to move away from them.

1. Buccing The Trend (4-3) Up 2

Right, I’ll get my caveat in early; they have conceded the least points in the league. With that out the way though, they have been on a good streak and their points totals seem to increase weekly, putting them at a competitive 4-3. Between the Bears RB pecking order, Sanders injury and Chubb’s return, it wasn’t a great week for their RB stable. Losing Sanders could be a blessing in disguise though, taking away the pressure to play a high draft pick who wasn’t performing.

1. Patistan (3-4) Down 2

Not getting any help from a tough division, but this team is definitely a ghost of what they were. They still have Brady, and Moore and Godwin will have their good weeks, but outside of that they are in fairly unknown waters. Their total points is good, they still have a solid route to the playoffs, but they will keep falling in these rankings until they put up a good score again.

1. IKSAN (3-4) No Change

Not a bad score (10/12 teams this season would probably be quite happy with it in fact), but tough opposition has stymied their progress. They are a decent team in a decent spot though, if Nick Chubb can garner himself a few more carries without Hunt, the extra opportunity would be another boost after the Mark Andrews renaissance.

1. FTMAL (4-3) Down 1

All good teams need to win when they play badly. Quite how much of a good team this is in their current state may be up for debate, however. Lots of the early season steam seems to have dissipated, but they are getting a bit healthier again. Mahomes starting to play like the player we all expect again would help.

1. Gridiron Gang (4-3) Up 3

A good week, particularly without main man Zeke. With Mitchell coming back into a lead role, and A.J. Brown coming back to the NFL after a peculiar on-field absence, they are in the best spot they have been for quite a while. In a division ripe for the taking (8th, 9th, 10, 11th in total scoring (yes, really)), they are in a great spot for a playoff push.

1. Bear Necessities (4-3) No Change

One of the more uneven scorelines of the week, not least due to Darnold’s dud. Presumably he’s in last chance saloon this week, although Atlanta isn’t the worst place to do that. They also get their bye-week Bills back, so will be in a better spot as a result. The important thing is they picked up another win whilst they wait for the Wilson return.

1. Forge Flyers (6-1) No Change

A new week and a different big scorer, Kupp stepped up again on this occasion. They’ve got the number 1 RB and WR, plus some other single-digit contributors on the roster. Safe to say, this was a well drafted team that is deservedly sitting pretty.

1. The Dream Team (6-1) No Change

Ja’Marr Chase is an absolute star. Lots of people were fading him on draft day, but that seems crazy now. After watching what college second-fiddle, Justin Jefferson, did in the NFL last year, I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised. The rest of the roster is pretty sweet too by the way, just got to give Ja’Marr his due.

Good morning all! I’ve been thinking, with our new playoff format, we won’t have an official halfway point any more thanks to those stupid odd numbers. So, I’m claiming this week, we’re more or less halfway anyway, and I can’t think of any other filler material for this intro. So, there you have it, welcome to the halfway stage of the season! And, with a ridiculous 7 teams at 3-3, I think we can well and truly say it is a classically close year in the LOC. But how are the rankings affected you ask? You know the drill, keep scrolling,

1. Napolitans (1-5) No Change

Most of the brighter sparks seemed to have dimmed a little now. This team just cannot catch a break. Seriously, go look at the points against column in the league table, it’s just unfair. Taylor seems to have finally gotten up to speed though, good games from him and Lamar would be enough to put them in contention any week, they just need some supporting cast.

1. U R Gould (2-4) Down 1

With some big performances from Cook and CeeDee, they looked well positioned, but other players, like Williams, couldn’t finish the job. They have plenty of capable players, but consistency seems to be a problem. A fully healthy Cook should go some way to amending that issue. They are the low scorers at this point though.

1. Buccing The Trend (3-3) Up 1

11th in points scored, they now find themselves joint 3rd in record, because it just doesn’t matter how you do it. The Miami stack proved inspired and dragged them to an important victory that kept them well and truly in the hunt. Can I move them much higher without some better scoring? Not really. But, buoyed by an excellent TNF, they have a good chance of getting above .500.

A strong score and they have somehow managed to drag themselves to the top of the division and the most tenuous playoff spot in the league. Herbert was a good pickup, even if he turns out to be short term, but getting Ridley back will be a boost. They haven’t gotten it all figured out, not through lack of trying, but they are the closest they have been so far.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-4) Down 1

It wasn’t a bad week for them, they just came up against a loaded team on hot form. Relying on King Henry getting less than 6 yards on MNF could be filed as ambitious. They need to start finding a way to turn a decent points tally into wins.

1. Gridiron Gang (3-3) Down 1

A good opportunity matchup wise, but their opponent’s scoring pushed this one beyond them. The definition of a rag-tag bunch, they seem to continue to get all their players scoring big at the same time. Could Derek Carr be a more long-term solution at QB? With the turmoil at LV, it seems unlikely, but it would help a lot.

1. IKSAN (3-3) Up 2

An important win for them in the divisional matchup, made possible by Josh Allen once again. I worried this team might become reliant on him, and losing Chubb for a few weeks will reinforce that. They have plenty of role players, but need someone like Harris or Jacobs to find a little consistency, in relief.

1. Patistan (3-3) Down 2

Anyone else getting déjà vu? From my top ranked team, to starting Freeman and Hubbard in mere weeks, the injuries are really piling on. They are still in a good spot, but this is no longer the feared team they started out as. How long they stay there could well be determined by how quickly people return from IR.

1. FTMAL (3-3) No Change

With Mahomes now sat exactly where everyone expected him to be, at the top of the QB charts, this team continues just as top heavy as expected. They have scored a lot of points, and sit at the top of the 3-3 bunch, but bye weeks are coming – we shall wait and see how they adapt.

1. Bear Necessities (3-3) Up 2

A strong week made on the back of a DST and K that were drafted for the exact reason of being every week starters, it is working pretty well too. The real draft star has been Fournette though, playoff Lenny has turned up 3 months early and looks to have an extremely valuable role is a high-octane offense.

1. Forge Flyers (5-1) No Change

This team is so loaded, that big weeks like this don’t seem that surprising, which is perhaps the biggest complement I could give. It would also probably be enough for this blurb, but that isn’t what you pay you league subs for. I like the Callaway pick up, with such a set starting lineup, he can sit an wait until needed.

1. The Dream Team (5-1) No Change

The best teams win when they have a bad week, and that was not a great week. It also cost them the official top seed, but they cling on in these rankings. The reason? I think they are slightly better prepared for the bye weeks than their nearest competition. That theory will be well and truly tested this week, missing their top two RBS and preferred QB.

Yeah, these top two teams are really starting to separate themselves, in just about every category. For the rest of us though, plenty left to fight for with (just over) half a season to do it. Good luck, one and all.

Good afternoon Coaches! Please join me as I once again hurry to push through ahead of these pesky London games. After a few notable injuries and a week of big spending on the waivers, there is plenty to unpack on roster movements. But, the podcast handles all that stuff, so don’t expect to see too much of it here. Nope, here we are all about the sweeping statements and narrow-viewed opinions that keep us firmly seated in the silver medal position for useful LOC media content. I couldn’t be prouder. So, please, read on.

It took a truly historical night from Lamar, but the dramatic MNF result drags them to their first win. This is obviously a momentous occasion, so momentous that I almost don’t want to mention, you know, the whole Barkley thing. Just when things are starting to look up, you find Devontae Booker sneaking into your starting roster. It was the right move, and he did well in relief last week, fingers crossed.

1. Buccing The Trend (2-3) No Change

Finally, they got that spark they were looking for. One of the more complete results on the week, with points coming from most everywhere on the roster. Kamara finally looked like the top pick he was expected to be, and D.K. became a focal point again. Of course, his QB is now out, and Kamara is on a bye, and strong pickup Williams is on the covid list. Add all that together and what do you get? 5 starting WRs, one of whom is Josh Gordon. Fantastic.

1. U R Gould (2-3) No Change

Despite a lot going against them, they managed to pull a win out of the hat. That is normally the sign of a team having a god season, so perhaps a turning point? With a couple of new IRs, they are possibly the least healthy team in the league at this point, so could be some challenging weeks ahead.

1. Burdettinators (2-3) No Change

Every time I think this team is starting to move in the right direction, they stutter again. The Sanders pick up looks nice, although he probably won't see that level of volume on a week not against the Chiefs. But he was the top scoring non-QB, which pretty much highlights their problem, no consistent contributors. Speaking of QBs, maybe trying to pick correctly between Dak and Stafford each week isn't as enviable as it sounds, nor easy.

1. IKSAN (2-3) No Change

C’mon, how did Coach Sherwood miss the 30-point Mark Andrews week? We totally all saw that coming, right? Truth is, it wasn’t a bad week by any means, although losing Chubb will hurt them. It sounds short term, but he had been their most consistent performer thus far. They’ll be hoping their receivers start to get a bigger piece of the pie to help contribute more again.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-3) No Change

Overthinking and playing matchups over talent, classic fantasy manager problems. They had a rough week in a matchup they really needed to win to start moving up the rankings. Hopefully lessons were learned.

1. Gridiron Gang (3-2) No Change

Not a bad score, but the spot plays couldn’t save them on this occasion, you never want to be someone’s first win. The QB rotation and the pickups are starting to pile up, papering over some cracks in the supposed starters on this team. Trading for A. Brown because A. Brown is underperforming? Good move and confusing headline all in one. As you’ll see shortly, I think this was actually a rare, WR for WR, win-win trade. Odd.

1. Bear Necessities (2-3) No Change

Not a bad week all in all, unfortunate to be blown away like that. Replacing Wilson will be the key here, with Darnold getting the first stab at it. They’re clinging onto a playoff spot with a sub .500 record at the moment, so can’t afford for the adjustment to take that long. I like the Claypool trade as well, although playing as many Bucs as possible each week doesn’t seem like a bad plan.

1. FTMAL (3-2) No Change

As decent scoring week, just up against a stronger team overall. Injuries and inactives are starting to tally up now, nothing too major, but enough to question the depth of a team. They will stay dangerous as long as Mahomes and Adams are balling, Henderson’s backfield snap count is also a pleasant surprise as a contributor.

1. Patistan (3-2) Down 2

Brady did it again, a good week on the back of the crazy Bucs passing O. The bad news, and the reason they couldn’t cling onto top spot any longer, was that CMC hit IR and will now spend longer than expected on the side-lines. Chubba can cover, but he’s not the No. 1 overall pick after all.

1. Forge Flyers (4-1) No Change

They’re nowhere near as reliant on him as the Titans, but it would be very interesting to see how this team would be doing if they hadn’t Nathwani’d their way up for King Henry. With Carson and Mixon both struggling with various levels of health concerns, the reliance could grow even stronger, not that that really seems to be an issue. Oh, by the way, it was another strong week.

1. The Dream Team (4-1) Up 2

It seems to be someone different going off each week, but the point is, it is always someone. With such high scoring potential all over the roster, this team couldn’t linger any lower anymore, with the on-team Chargers doing the heavy lifting on this occasion. I’m not really sure what else to say at this point. Oh yeah, they spent big on arguably the top waiver wire commodity of the week, the rich may be getting richer.

So, fun fact: last week, my top three teams won, my bottom three teams won and my middle six all lost. I guess, mathematically, that make me officially 50% good at this. And, you know, that isn’t half bad. Unless you count the fact that it is, indeed, exactly half bad.

Hello again Coaches, welcome to the 5th edition of this year’s Power Rankings! And, happily, Week 5 brings the return of the London games, which were sorely missed this time last year. This return to London also means the early kick offs set to catch out last minute team changers (and last minute Power Ranking writers), so we all have to be a little better prepared. Hence, the rankings, read on…

1. Napolitans (0-4) No Change

They may not be the worst team in the league, but if other teams keep piling the points on like that, it won’t really matter. There were encouraging signs in Week 4, particularly from the core of RBs, but it still didn’t amount to an overly impressive score. Baby steps, but if things keep trending in this direction, it won’t be long before that 0 becomes a 1.

1. Buccing The Trend (1-3) No Change

Another week where the players seemed to underperform. Taking punts on the waivers is the right thing to be doing, and the big price paid for Williams will be more than worth it if they can sneak a couple of wins whilst he is the starter. They need a spark from somewhere and, spoiler alert, they seemed to find one in Week 5 TNF.

1. U R Gould (1-3) Down 1

Not good. I mean, obviously things would have been very different had talisman Gould not injured himself in the pregame warmups, but these things happen. Lamb and Williams both hit their floors, they’ll bounce back, a fully healthy Cook would also help a lot. They’re better than that score.

1. Burdettinators (2-2) Up 1

Much more like it from them, and a much more well-rounded performance too. Picking between Prescott and Stafford each week is a nice problem to have, whilst Mooney finally looking like the player all that offseason hype promised is also encouraging. They’ve put good ground between themselves and the 3 teams below them.

1. IKSAN (2-2) No Change

Missed opportunity there, too many players not really doing anything of note. There is plenty of reason to think that those players will improve though, Cooks and Harris had horrible matchups and game scripts, whilst Jacobs is still getting back to full fitness. Conner establishing himself in that Cardinals backfield could be a fruitful development though.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (2-2) No Change

A good win and a fairly balanced performance. They’ll still be hoping for more from Allen, but targets and touches are trending in the right direction across the board. The bench was starting to look a bit sorry for itself, some necessary shuffling in the waivers.

1. Gridiron Gang (3-1) Down 1

Hey, a win is a win, right? Rotating QBs always results in a few subpar weeks, but first round pick Zeke is now well in his stride and carried them to this win. Aside from trading Raiders’ receivers in the waivers, their roster is starting to look more settled, bigger scores needed to move up the rankings though. Is the 3-1 record deceiving?

1. Bear Necessities (2-2) Down 2

Just didn’t quite work out for them last week, a few of their RB timeshares suddenly aren’t looking so encouraging either. They’ve not dropped due to the Wilson injury (although that could come next week), they just don’t look quite as dangerous as the teams around them right now. Kelce bounce-back game incoming, for sure.

1. FTMAL (3-1) Up 2

Firstly, apologies to 'forgot to make a logo' and their adoring fanbase, I have only just updated the team name, kinda dropped the ball there. Secondly, good bounce back result, with huge performances from Mahomes and the Bills DST. This team is exactly what we expected, relying on the big names each week but, as long as they stay healthy, they will be a constant threat. A classic team that you never want to face.

1. The Dream Team (3-1) Up 1

One of those weeks where everyone seemed to be at their best, taking them from bottom of the division to the very top seed (only in the LOC right?). They move up one space for now, but the gap between my top 3 is exceedingly close. I think they have enough bench options to keep it up through the bye weeks as well.

1. Forge Flyers (3-1) No Change

Big battle at the top, and they just about snuck it. Whilst the on-field players weren’t at their most convincing, the bench had a great game. Could Patterson be the most unlikely star player since the infamous Perriman pickup up of this very team? He’ll get his chance this week.

1. Patistan (2-2) No Change

Picking up where they left off in 2020 by going for the injury title once again. They still put up a good score without McCaffrey, and they would have won had they not lost RB2 Montgomery mid-game. They’re only a game behind the top spots, and with the injuries not being too severe so far, I see no reason to drop them at this stage.

Another week without too many changes. Either I’m finally starting to get the hang of this, or the league is starting to settle out. Now, enjoy the week and, almost more importantly, enjoy the NFL being back in the country*!

Good afternoon! Once again, the weekend is upon us and I must still be in pre-season mode, because I’m not quite sure where all these fantasy weekdays are going. It helps to appreciate the rightful inclusion of the podcast into the HOF this offseason, quite the commitment week in week out. So we must congratulate co-host Leach for that induction again, because it was all him of course, no others credits due. Anyone, better get these rankings out, before their weekly relevance is spent.

1. Napolitans (0-3) No Change

Speaking of still being in pre-season mode, it has been a rough welcome to the league for the Napolitans. They have had the points absolutely stacked against them, but they haven’t put up many in return either. Getting Moss into the starting line-up is overdue now, he could provide some spark to a stagnant roster.

1. Buccing The Trend (1-2) Down 3

It wasn’t particularly pretty, but they won’t care one bit, a win is a win and it lifts them from the twelfth seed. Losing Julio and Chark was not quite as good news, however, and this roster still looks a little lost. If Josh Gordon makes the difference, then I may have to quit fantasy, but he is exactly the kind of wildcard they need to spark them up again.

1. Burdettinators (1-2) No Change

Not their best week, with players struggling to even get the ball in their hands, let alone scoring points. A few roster additions and the return of Johnson should guarantee them some slightly higher volume options. They need to start getting some consistent scores from someone other than Dak to start pushing towards the triple figure weekly scores.

1. U R Gould (1-2) No Change

Perhaps the first all-receiver play of the season? Gotta love superflex, but it didn’t work out this time. They need to get Cook back and healthy, and I am still amazed they’re rostering all those QBs. Mike Williams however, that looks to be working out rather nicely and CEH finally did something, hopefully a turning point.

1. IKSAN (2-1) Up 3

Allen turned up! And started repaying that early selection that could make this team very dangerous going forward. Now, their second and third top scorers last week were the Kicker and DST, so I’m not getting crazy excited, but I was clearly too low on this team off the bat. Also, where is Tucker’s 6-point field goal? I demand an AGM.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (1-2) No Change

Losing trust in a first round pick early in the season is never a good sign, especially when benching him costs you the matchup. They’re not in the worst shape, but Murray’s down-week revealed some of the gaps that he had been patching. Playing matchups is going to continue to be a weekly battle with a lot of solid but unspectacular options.

1. ASIPE (2-1) No Change

Anyone else let out a sigh of relief when you saw they had lost? I did, a big one. It wasn’t the worst week, and they’ll be encouraged to see Adams warming up. But, losing Shepard and Gronk, plus continued health concerns for Henderson, is going to start to test the depth which was always a question mark.

1. Gridiron Gang (2-1) No Change

Can we still call it a Stubbs bowl with the added hint of Merritt? Whether we can or not, it was a good one. Maybe it was the hint of Merritt that brought the drama. Zeke made this win, there is no doubt there, and him maintaining that level of play could be the key to their season. They’re starting to pile up the health issues though and they’ve lost the safe play of the Broncos DST, time to start that penchant tinkering.

1. The Dream Team (2-1) No Change

Amazingly, they find themselves bottom of the division, despite two big winning weeks out of three. Chase is looking better and better with Burrow’s trust, making up for Hill’s less impressive weeks, and Robinson has fallen back into that 2020 form as well. Their biggest weakness may genuinely be the strength of their division.

1. Bear Necessities (2-1) Down 1

It was a bad week in general for the remaining undefeated teams. They would have been sleeping soundly Monday night as well, but that is fantasy. It was a solid week in general, just without anyone doing anything too special. They’ll be hoping Wilson and Diggs can return to form and get them back to winning ways this week.

1. Forge Flyers (2-1) Up 1

In past seasons, Coach Leach has made a habit of picking players in the early-middle rounds the exact right seasons to get the most out of them. He appears to have managed that again. It looks like a very strong team now, certainly stronger than I thought fresh out of the draft, and has claimed the top seed now. No one will want to play them at the moment.

1. Patistan (2-1) No Change

Losing McCaffrey was bad, we’ve covered that, but he shouldn’t be out too long. They spent big on Hubbard (not that they really have a choice) and should have covered themselves as a result. More importantly, they have enough star power elsewhere on the roster to keep them winning, as displayed last week.

Hello everyone! Welcome to another weekend edition of the Power Rankings. We’re two weeks in and 2/3rds of the league has settled nicely into a .500 record, including one entire division, so it is looking like another classic LOC season already. Amongst other things that seem to happen every year, results continue to go out of their way to prove just how wrong (and likely pointless) my Rankings may be, there may be a little more chopping and changing this time around.

1. Napolitans (0-2) Down 3

Guessing that you will find yourselves bottom of the Power Rankings before they come out is always ominous. Similar to certain fanbases already looking forward to another top 5 pick (#RiseUp). The score is actually a little deceiving, with very high Kicker and DST points. Lamar’s rushing will be a good source of points each week, but they need some of their other players to step up, soon.

1. IKSAN (1-1) No Change

Despite getting absolutely smashed in the box score, this wasn’t the worst week, with options like Cooks and Jones Jr. looking like they are going to be solid weekly contributors. A little more from Josh Allen continues to be what they are missing, he’s got it in him for sure. They’ll be looking to push up from this spot next week in the Power Rankings equivalent of a relegation 6 pointer.

1. Burdettinators (1-1) No Change

Not in the most convincing manner ever, but a good win to get them going. More encouraging will be seeing Jones do some of that 2020 stuff he was so good at. Murray growing more into the Ravens backfield would be more encouraging still. They continue to feel like a team which you can never tell quite who is going to go off each week, and picking up Moore gives them another such option.

1. U R Gould (1-1) Down 2

After everything going their way last week, this week couldn’t quite live up to the same level. The Bears D was good, but outside of that they struggled. CEH’s usage is more than worrying, and the critical fumble won’t help. Losing Landry to IR shouldn’t hurt too much though, with the bench options they have. They need to sort their QB spot out, currently losing 3 roster spots to the position.

1. Buccing The Trend (0-2) Down 6

Oh dear, seems like my early season dark horse was a little lame. I don’t like to drop teams this far, but it is hard when lots of players that looked like they were going to be go to options in the offence haven’t necessarily played out that way. Even Kamara looks limited by Winston’s penchant to throw deep and bigger penchant to lose the ball. Pittman showed the world what he can do but, picking the right team here each week looks like a headache.

1. Tom’s Tyrants (1-1) Up 1

Still very reliant on Murray, but a more well-rounded team performance earned them a win. Other than from Sanders of course, don’t think he’ll be kicking in this town again anytime soon. If top picks Harris and Gibson up their games a little, this team could become dangerous.

1. ASIPE (2-0) Up 6

Well, they had to change this week, they’re the top seed for Pete’s sake. It was a good score as well, largely due to an impressive shutout from the Bills D and Gronk continuing his 2011 comeback tour. Saying anything negative only seems to fuel this team, like Anakin giving into his anger, so I’m going to leave it there before we end up with the LOC Empire.

1. Gridiron Gang (1-1) No Change

First win on the board always leads to a happy coach. I feel my comments on Mr. Bridgewater last week need clarifying, however – I meant a long-term solution. The fact he finds himself unceremoniously dumped back on the waivers proves my point, but also proves this team will be moved around a lot in the hunt for success. Zeke looked much better, but Pollard is outplaying him. Tyler Lockett is awesome, that is all.

1. The Dream Team (1-1) Down 1

Not a good week, although not necessarily a sign of things to come in this writer’s opinion. We saw what is definitely Hill’s floor, and unlikely to be repeated, but we also saw Hurts and Pollard continue to prove they could be weekly starters (admittedly on the bench this time). The main concern may be Robinson, who can’t get going and seems to be suffering simply as a result of being a Jags player.

1. Forge Flyers (1-1) Up 3

Boom. That’s it, next team.

No seriously, that was big, with the superstars doing what they do best. Everything went right this week, and we saw the potential this team has. The standout from my point of view has to be Kupp, if he continues this chemistry with Stafford, Forge Flyers could be on for a very good season.

1. Bear Necessities (2-0) Up 2

Very solid again, getting the right guys on the starting roster despite several playable options. They look built for the long season, with the bench players also ready to contribute, although I’m really starting to get curious about the AD thing… a bet? The engineering of a HOF nomination for future seasons? There must be an angle, surely!

1. Patistan (1-1) No Change

I had to jinx them eventually, everyone knew it was coming. They were unlucky to lose last week, and they put up a big score still, but the bigger jinx came Thursday night. Losing McCaffery will hurt them, a lot, but they still have a lot of strong contributors and this position is meant to reflect what happened prior to Thursday night of course… hindsight. The coming waivers could determine their ability to hold onto top spot.

So, we had an Up 6 and a Down 6, it really is a miracle anyone still bothers to read this tripe. Hopefully things will start to settle out the next few weeks, it does get much easier when we’ve played a few more games, basically just copy and paste off the league table at that point. For now though, good luck all, and try not to do anything that makes me look too stupid.
