It’s in poverty of spirit that draws us into a truly blessed life of humble obedience and neediness of the Father. Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom while He physically walked the earth. He also gave insight that if we wanted to enter the Kingdom, we must first become like a child. Abraham was promised that what he could see would be his and his children's territory forever. A praying church is a powerful church. A praying person is a fruitful person. One of the most fruitful contributions made by true disciples on behalf of the body of Christ is to become an individual with an authentic prayer life. What if a part of our prayer life was to fill our prayer time with intentional thanksgiving and blessings spoken on behalf of others? The Triumphal Entry found in the Gospels describes a symbolic coronation ceremony of Jesus as the humble King of Israel. The worshippers crying "Hosanna" laid their cloaks down before Jesus and waved their hands and palm branches, acknowledging Him as the one true Messiah. Revelation 19 goes on to describe Jesus as the crowned King of Glory who would return on a white horse. We all have keys to the ancient gates that welcome the King of Glory in. In 1 Kings 17 and 18, we read there is a drought in the land and after three years Elijah says he can hear the sound of the abundance of rain. There is a Kingdom reality and a stewardship with your encounter with God that supersedes the speeches, agendas, and manmade causes. The widow of Zarephath found herself in the midst of famine and with only a handful of flour and a small jar of oil left to make one last loaf of bread. The Lord sent the prophet Elijah to her, and the rest of the story is that of the Lord's faithfulness and the widow's miraculous abundance. She didn't even know what was in her hand. His name is Jesus, the Deliverer, the One who Saves, and Scriptures tells us that we when encounter Him, we can't help but express that "God is with us." As prophetically described in Isaiah 9:6, when we experience Jesus, we would be encountering the reality of Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
