Easter is the celebration of the pinnacle of our faith: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Jesus is not alive, we are to be pitied the most among men! However, since Jesus is alive, His resurrection life now becomes our resurrection life. Jesus, the conquering King! Jesus, the Resurrected Savior who conquered Satan, sin, and death! Jesus, who by the resurrection, seals His completed work on this earth and sealed for us eternal life.
Good Friday gives us the opportunity to solemnly reflect on the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. We can become numb to our participation in the death of the cross. It wasn’t ultimately the Pharisees or Romans soldiers that killed Christ, it was us. Our sin, hammer blow by hammer blow, was the reason for His death. Our willful defiance of the God of the cosmos is the greatest offense in human history. This law-breaking could only be paid by a priceless payment. Jesus fulfills both the wrath of God against sin (bearing/borne) and removes from us all of our sin, guilt, and shame (bled).

What God desires of you and what the hurting world needs from you is to be a person of mercy. The wrong question to ask is, "Who is worthy of mercy?" Because no one is worthy of mercy. We need to ask the question, "Am I a person of mercy?"

When Jesus Christ calls us to be his disciples, He calls us to follow him with absolute abandon. Jesus is Lord of every place and space in our life. Grasping this affects the way we view our work, our school, our families, our free time, and everything in-between. When we fully understand the gospel, our entire world gets turned upside down. This changes everything.

Where did we get the idea that foreign missionaries, pastors, and church staff are God's "A Team"? Jesus didn't call those with impressive resumes to carry the torch for His kingdom. He chose ordinary fishermen. Have we been fooled into believing that God needs a "varsity squad" to carry out His plans for the world? The Church is God's plan A. There is no plan B. This is God's design for every one of us. We exist to glorify God as disciples making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ in our homes, in our neighborhoods, in our workplaces. We are called, and together, we are on mission.
Right to Life is so much more than being "anti-abortion." Right to Life is being FOR life from the tomb to the womb. God has called every believer to bring light and life to the world around us. We are called to be "ministers of reconciliation," ambassadors for Jesus Christ, the One who gives us true life. Life eternal.
