Well it's December first so it's about time I wished you a happy Halloween. To celebrate we played the latest concoction of spooky indie game demos brewed by by the folks of Haunted PS1. Real nice selection this year, and great to see the format expand into something even bigger.

This week we're floating about in zero-G, stuck in a dead end job. Trying our best not to get sucked into the space furnace as we dream about the good old days back on earth, frolicking about in the lavender fields, drinking lavender ice tea and munching on lavender cupcakes. At least we still have our trusty old lavender microwave bags to warm our sore, overworked space muscles.

This week, I could write the intro to match the core word based structure of the game we're talking about. But honestly, it's too much of a hassle. We did it a bit for the intro, so we've filled the quota and frankly, it's not like it really adds anything anyway. Let me first apologies for the intro. We decided to write them in advance just to fill them out a bit a make it more descriptive about the coming episode and we immediately started writing nonsense.
Another note is that, in the ep, we talk about how this game should be called 'Golf with friends' not 'Golf with YOUR friends'. Found out after a quick google that it actually used to be called 'with friends' but mobile giant Zynga trademarked '.. with friends.' which is wild and crap, eh?

This week we do this whole bit at the beginning around the name Mike (no relation to Mikes clav) and i do wish we had done an alternative intro and i could just use that cos it borders on the cringe line but you can't win them all. If you can make it past that we then move on to a video game so good lochie couldn't play it.

I don't remember what we talked about this week other than the titular game ofc. So instead, my day schedule. I've only got two short meetings today. One is a catch-up with my line manager, the other is a briefing for the main job i need to do today. It's likely that the things in need to get started on the work will be delayed so i will use that time to get in touch with o2 as the company phone contract is closing and i need to work out a new deal. We also have a new hire today so i need to make sure she is all settled in. Lou is leaving ( very sad about this) and her line manager asked me what we should do to celebrate her, i have no idea, so i'm going to ask someone else. I'll also walk the dog several times for pees and poos and a bit of play. This evening i might do some freelance 3d modelling, currently texturing a large window. Oh, in the pod we do talk about Archer Maclean again. how could i forget.
This week is the WORLD PREMIERE of Mikes electric piano (thanks again, Mike), as well as a bunch of video game trailers we don't care for.
Gosh, I honestly have no idea what we talked about. I think a lot of it was actually about Supergiants indie hit Hades. I remember we it got us talking about the Disney movie Hercules. And at the start I grovel for money, but aside from that you'll just have to listen and see.
What better way to celebrate World Milk Day than playing three hours of Capcom's cult classic Ghost Trick.
This week two sleepy boys try desperately to keep their eyes open as they are sent back in time to save sexy ladies with The Hunchback of Notre Dame, making sure at all times to properly adhere to the physical rules of whisky barrels.
You might say, This week Lochie and I went through a M E T A M O R P H O S I S of our own. We fill you in with all the juicy deets of our recent life changes, which includes but is not limited to Lochie buying a very bright bulb. We eventually move on to the titular game, but not before gently roasting my old flat mat.
This week, Lochie says the phrase 'i don't trust all my fingers equally' and honestly I can't stop thinking about that.
We talk about Friday Night Funkin', a pay-what-you-want indie rhythm game on Newgrounds (wait, Newgrounds???)and then recap our final thoughts on the bonkers end to our twitch play through of Dead Rising.

This week tension is high as Lochie and Louis can't think of anything to say, that is until Lochie reveals he's just eaten Mac n' Cheese and then everything goes back to a relative state of normal.
This week we finally got around to the playing the game that we literally invented 15 years ago. We literally made this game with our minds. 11 boys are the real game designers.
This week Lochie reveals his secret talent and Louis holds the switch very close to his face.
This week we get lost in a museum of forgotten video. Literally, we have no idea what floor any of these games where on. Also we are both surprised to discover that I know what a Musher is.
This week Lochie gets a little car sick as Louis professes his love the Star Wars Intellectual Property.
This week we're scooching past people from all over Europe on a tight train carriage, well except Lochie because he ate to much spaghetti...
Imagine Shawshank Redemption but instead of Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins you get the worlds biggest goofball and a very dull man, playing darts and and washing up together. Also Uncharted.
This week Louis clearly wants nothing more than to talk about Diablo 3 and has no interest in instant coffee or animal cloning.
This week we try to BECOME the Prince of Persia, but stumble over our rotoscoped feet and plumet, repeatably, to our deaths.
This week the levee has broken and we must try to remember the difference between chef and chief, lucky they are wearing the appropriate hats.
This week Lochie reveals he doesn't know what Crash Bandicoots name is and Louis completely lets him off the hook for this and I'm shook. Also I'm Louis, Hi. I'm not sure why i decided to write these in 3rd person. Like I'm trying to trick you into thinking we are bigger than just the two of us... I think it was more because otherwise i'd be saying 'I' a lot in these descriptions and you might not know who 'I' am. Which i think is fair. This week we're standing outside a Dixons with a croque monsieur in one hand and a can of Fosters in the other. We've been wandering around central for hours (three to be exact), shopping for that one laundry detergent that doesn't smell like James.

"Toby Fox (born October 11, 1991) is an American video game developer and composer. He is best known for developing the critically acclaimed video game Undertale, released in September 2015. He also developed a related game called Deltarune, the first chapter of which was released on October 31, 2018 for free as a “survey”. He also composed various pieces of music for the webcomic Homestuck.
Career Fox studied at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, studying environmental science. Fox started composing a variety of music for Andrew Hussie's 2009 webcomic Homestuck during his senior year of high school. Fox initially did not respond when Hussie started a "Music Contribution Team" in April 2009 and put up a news post asking musicians to participate. However, Hussie took note of his work when Fox started uploading piano covers of the webcomic's music on the MS Paint Adventures forums. Fox also co-composed the music for the 2017 Homestuck video game Hiveswap.
Fox's most popular work is the 2015 role-playing video game Undertale, which sold more than a million copies, becoming a "breakout hit" and "pop-culture phenomenon". Fox worked on the entire game independently, besides the art assets; which he had asked Temmie Huang for help with, he decided to work independently to avoid relying on others. Fox had little game development experience before Undertale, using RPG Maker 2000 with his three brothers to make role-playing games along with making some EarthBound ROM hacks in high school, the most notable of which being Earthbound: The Halloween Hack. He thought of the character designs and ideas for Undertale in college, where he drew them in his notebook.
Following its release, the game garnered an extensive fanbase and a large degree of controversy over the praise garnered by the game. Fox commented that he did not mind if people stated that they did not like the game, saying that it was "not for everyone". Other than that it's a straight hour of us bagging on the game. We talk about its failed open world, the confusing art style and wether or not Faith makes a squish sound when she falls to her death.
It's dark. Green lights glow beneath your fingers. The clacking of the keys mix harshly with voices of boys, the voices of men. A sharp November breeze seeps through the open door. It keeps the sweat from your brow as you stare deeply into the 120 hrtz monitor.

You recognise the voice, but it's changed somehow. Like you are hearing it for the first time. A rebirth is taking place.
You press 'Q'. A flock of missiles burst forth, swarming and destroying four of the apposing team.
You turn from the barrel of Pharrahs smoking missile gun to the voice, purple headphones hanging from his neck.
I've finally found a place to 'Belong'. ______
Yah, so we went to 'Belong'(a gaming cafe) and played Overwatch (a hit video game). Enyoyyyy.
I will forever be putting 'Belong' in quote marks.

Lochie really wanted to chat about the new Mario game. Louis was hesitant but they managed to fill up a whole podcast and more.
They talk about some of the things you'd expect when talking about Mario; his beautiful movement, the charming exploration and some things new for the series like its jarring art style.
Also there's a lil bonus chat at the end when Louis realises that Lochie must have finished Zelda by now, finally allowing them to chat about what he felt was a disappointing ending.

This episode is incredibly scary. Both Lochie and Louis say the word 'spooky' at least three times each. But how can they not when talking about Alien Isolation? It's just so darn spooky.
This week we discard the entire premise of this dumb show because we ran out of time to actually play the video game we wanted to talk about.
Oddly enough, we still found time to play a bunch of other video games. So instead Louis shares his love/hate relationship with the Gran Turismo series and the recently released Gran Turismo Sport, much to Lochies disinterest. Lochie can't help but talk about League Of Legends for the third week in a row, whilst Louis holds back groans. They finally settle on The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of the Wild (typing that is a pain) as something they can both enjoy.
Also something is wrong with Louis' windows...
We talk about the joys of running in the cult classic Mirrors edge. We lament how the series never really figured out just how good it was and try desperately not to compare it to it’s sequel.
This week we're talking about 'Where The Goats Are'. A game about milking goats and reading letters. If only Louis had played just a little bit more he'd know it was about a bit more than that... We discuss games that force you into a routine, the game service itch.io and the impact an ending can have on the overall experience of a game.
We’ve each spent over 3hrs and £300 on our new Nintendo Switches this week, so we may as well do a podcast about it...

We're getting artsy this week in Passpartout: The Starving Artist. Lochie slathered his pixel canvas with calming beach scenes in an attempt to please the detestable Benjamin, whilst Louis got increasingly frustrated at everyones distain for his love of the colour pink.
A real great ep where the boys go back and play Just Cause 2, a A+ classic in our eyes. A slight change to set up where we both get involved with something we've played before. With talk about putting all your eggs in one basket and works wonders.
We back. Lochie plays Quadrilateral Cowboy; a game you where code your way through puzzles to pull off heists. A cool game but the boys have some conflicting views.
Another week has passed. Three more hours have been spent.
This week, Lochie urged Louis to get back to Undertale, he has happily obliged and has lots to gush about. Though, most of the time he spends just trying to explain what Undertale actually is.
The one you've all been waiting for, but also we've been waiting for as it was delayed a week; The Last of Us - Left Behind.
Lochie finally plays it after years of Louis suggesting it. We talk about the character chit-chat and player control that makes The Last of Us feel great. As well as the real good and the annoying things that make up the Left behind DLC.
It's a curve ball ep and you're all in for a treat, Lochie talks about the good time that is Slime rancher. Left behind has been pushed back as Louis wasn't here this week, so its a solo episode with Loch. Enjoy

You turn and head to find a quiet room. The boys... they'll understand. You open up the voice recording application on your smartphone, click the inviting red button, and begin to speak. You're not sure if this is good, but you know it's necessary.
This week Lochie is talking about EverWing, a free to play game that he doesn't seem to like but is morbidly curious about its baffling business model.
Lochie is back for one week only(!) to talk about Titan Souls, the only way to get your Shadow of The Colossus fix in 2017. IF you don't mind the odd load and pointless backtracking.
Is it possible to talk about how boring loading screens are without oneself being boring? I'm not so sure.
This week Louis is all on his ownsome and decides to use this time to ruminate on the recently released Prey by Arkane Studios. He touches on the value of the 'immersive sim', upgrade trees that get forgotten and yes, loading screens.
Louis gets Lochie talking about one of his all time favs; Metal Gear Solid. It gets them talking about voice acting, the value of backtracking and just how impossible it is to name the best in the series.
Louis plays Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, a classic from Lochie's childhood. Presuming it will be rubbish, Louis is pleasantly surprised.
