Intimacy is a strange thing.

Someone answers, it’s helping someone even though they’ve been horrible to you. One would rather love with the pain than never love. Some say, it’s a necessity; safety; openness; normalcy. Some couldn’t answer. Some say, “I don’t know—even past first response.” Some say, when we recognize them as beyond ourselves, beyond my perception, outside of the boxes I’ve created for them. Some say, caring for someone who’s sick. “love is when somebody is dying and you cannot help but be there with them. It’s not the fluttering of the heart. It’s silence.” One person cries immediately after the question and says, "I don’t know but it should be simple. It’s unattainable. It gets harder when you get older.”

Help head. Help heart.
