Redscale is back! Fantastic news that was hard to keep secret the last few months. After a solid 3 years of working exclusively on building the Greyscale label, owner grad_u felt its the right time to also focus on his own music. And we all can't be more happy to hear what he's been up to! Redscale #10 has all the hallmarks of the classic output but the energy is dialed up to 11. 'Siren' is a pure dancefloor packer! It has that ideal combination of underground techno club power and catchy supporting chords. Think Aril Brikha's 'Groove La Chord' and you get the idea of a true heater. 'Dancefloor is Dangerous' is on the B-side and it was specifically made for a gig where grad_u showcased his live chops warming up the crowd for Jeff Mills. That big club dub techno sound made to perform live in China, Iran, France and others. This vinyl will come with full printed cover and special center label artwork. Pressed with black and orange splatter effect on transparent red vinyl with one side that even plays inside out! Expect to move the masses with these 2 showstoppers! We can't say it enough. Redscale is back!

We're arrived to the tenth chapter of Greyscale story. It's definitely a milestone for us. For this special occasion label boss grad_u is back with "UMWELT", his first full length album since “Endless Space” that was released back in 2012. The umwelt theory states that the mind and the world are inseparable, because it is the mind that interprets the world. So in this ten-track album artist is focusing on the world around him, believing that the environment he's in subconsciously translates into his works. This time grad_u takes it even further - some of the tracks are incorporating the actual field recordings from his usual environment, while the others reshaping the feelings felt in the surroundings into the lush sonic passages. Mid June will see the launch of Echocord sub-label Echo Echo with the ‘Dream Observer’ EP from Grad_u. Copenhagen’s Echocord is a Dub Techno imprint with a history dating back fifteen years and a back catalogue featuring material from genre defining artists like Deepchord, Fluxion, Sven Weisemann, Pole and grad_u who launches the new off shoot imprint Echo
The release opens with ‘Jacob’s Dream’, fifteen minutes of release date: subtly modulating synth glitches, ethereal synth drones, sweeping atmospherics and dubby echoes creating a hypnotic, ever-unfolding composition.
‘Observing The Night Sky’ then follows on the flip side with thunderous kick drums, rumbling low-end pulses, wandering dub chords and bubbling glitches all subtly nuanced throughout the tracks ten-minute duration.

Lithuania’s Greyscale returns this December with Ohrwert’s ‘Fidelis / Blavus’, backed with remixes from XDB and grad_u.
Greyscale was launched in 2012 by Lithuanian producer and DJ grad_u, and photographer Rima Prusakova, set up as a platform for material from grad_u and close friends whilst Prusakova’s black and white analogue photography provides the visual identity of the label.
The original mix of ‘Blavus’ opens the EP, perfectly setting the tone with murky, ethereal atmospherics, billowing dub echoes, modulating percussion and thunderous drums before DubTechno stalwart XDB strips things back a little with soft touches of the originals airy drones tucked away in the depths whilst choppy stabs and dynamically unfolding analogue rhythms wander throughout.
The second original from Ohrwert opens the flip-side, upping the energy levels slightly with hooky stab-sequences, filtered delays and hypnotic melodies running alongside a sturdy percussive foundation. Lastly to round out the release grad_u reworks ‘Blavus’ into a more groove-driven workout, employing shuffled hats, looped dub chords and bumpy sub-bass hits throughout.

“Holdback”, an unexpected twist of events for followers of Redscale, is actually a bold step forward in terms of pace and light. The enticing chords work like a magnet, and the potential of the lady on the mic is no lower than that one of a siren. The personal weapons of grad_u, the most powerful of which are the embracing loops, are of course out there, indicating the producer’s inner spirit and roots.
Picking up where “Holdback” left off, “Outwards from Laniakea” is a statement more rugged, yet as absolute as the message on side A. It’s an invitation to put that jacket back to the cloakroom, switch off that phone and let yourself go, again and again. It’s, once again, a compelling statement against conformity.
