This is the 40th year of Enterprise Ireland's Student Entrepreneur Awards, which are co-sponsored by Cruickshank, Grant Thornton, and the Local Enterprise Offices. The awards are open to all third-level institutions across the country.

Young Entrepreneur and Limerick lady Marion Cantillon won The Cruickshank High Achieving Merit Award for her start-up Pit-Seal. Representing University College Cork, she received a prize of €5,000 for her biofilm which eliminates the need for farmers to use plastic or tires to seal pits and reduces methane emissions.

The Grant Thornton High Achieving Merit Award and €5,000 went to Pure Clothing, the socially responsible clothing brand created by Dublin City University student Peter Timlin and University of Limerick student Richard Grimes.

While Trinity College Dublin students Tim Farrelly and David Deneher along with Omar Salem, a student at Queen's University Belfast, have won Enterprise Ireland's 2021 Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

17-year-old mountain biker and young sportsperson of the year 2021- Oisin O'Callaghan joined Louise on Spin Now to chat about his outstanding sporting achievements. Oisin O’Callaghan has been trailblazing... literally in modern Irish cycling history!

Earlier this year he signed a professional contract with team YT Mob racing, built around German bike manufacturer YT Industries and several other headline sponsors, which specializes in downhill mountain bike racing. Oisin from Ard Patrick Limerick won the UCI junior mountain bike world championships which were held in Austria in October 2020, the first time that any Irish rider has won gold at the competition! Hermitage Green's Darragh Griffin chats to Louise about his new solo project FIGR and his debut single "Fear'. Darragh Griffin launched a solo project under the name FIGR recently. He started writing for this project last January and threw himself fully into it during the first lockdown. He wrote, produced and recorded all the songs at home in Clare.
