In the final installment of Practical Ministry, Tracy takes a moment to reflect on the foundational aim of the podcast: to document her spiritual journey and celebrate the divine guidance along the way. She acknowledges that while this mission was fulfilled, the narrative began to inadvertently shift towards a more personal focus. With heartfelt thanks, Tracy recognizes the unwavering support and encouragement from her listeners, which has been a cornerstone of the podcast’s success.

Looking back, Tracy contemplates the personal evolution and valuable lessons learned through the process of podcasting. She extends her gratitude to the vibrant community that has formed and cherishes the uplifting feedback from her audience. Drawing wisdom from John Mark Comer’s “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry,” Tracy underscores the importance of decelerating, streamlining our lives, and prioritizing what’s genuinely important. She shares an epiphany that some endeavors may stray from the true essence of tranquility and contentment. To guide listeners towards embracing transformation and rejuvenation, Tracy outlines actionable steps, imparts motivational verses from the Scriptures, and concludes with a heartfelt prayer.

May you be blessed! 🙏

In this episode, Tracy delves into the inspiration behind her choice of Galatians 5:22-23 as her theme for the upcoming year. She explores the Biblical concept known as the "Fruit of the Spirit," which consists of nine virtues: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Toward the end of the episode, Tracy provides guidelines to help apply these virtues in practical ways, enabling you to become a better version of yourself.

In the conclusion, Tracy ends with a heartfelt prayer, seeking God's guidance and strength. She also asks for help in developing the nine virtues and becoming a source of love and encouragement for others.

In the outro, Tracy offers a glimpse into the next episode, (airing on March 15th) which will build on this episode's references to the Holy Spirit, taking a deeper dive into His significance.

If you are not familiar with the Holy Spirit and would like to gain a better understanding, we recommend watching a 4-minute video from the Bible Project. This video will provide you with a concise overview of the topic.

Join Tracy on this enlightening journey as she explores how these virtues can positively shape and influence our lives!

Sometimes lies of the enemy are difficult to spot because they sound too good to be harmful, but in today’s day and age, there are many beliefs we hear around us that we think are true. Yet, when we look closer, they are pulling us away from what God is telling us.

Welcome to the Practical Ministry segment of the Born To Fly Podcast, hosted by Marketplace Minister, solopreneur, and Born to Fly member, Tracy B Richards. If you are a small business owner who believes that your work is a sacred service, meant to glorify God and serve your neighbors then we invite you to join Tracy as she shares her personal journey, including her insights, highlights, and face-down moments that are all part of the messy journey of following Jesus.

On this episode of the Practical Ministry Podcast, Tracy shares her recent experience with reading Howard Rachinski’s book “Perpetual: The Secret to Finding God in Your 7 Life Seasons” which sparked a profound self-reflection. Tracy talks about a moment in her own journey when she was asked a life-changing question that made her reevaluate her beliefs and values. This ultimately led her to embrace Christianity, despite previously practicing New Age beliefs as a Jewish person. Tracy emphasizes the importance of prioritizing the search for meaning and purpose in life instead of chasing temporary happiness, which our culture often idolizes. Join us for this insightful conversation and Tracy’s inspiring call to action in this episode.

Christian Youth Theater (CYT) is celebrating its 40th year! It all started with Janie's parents and endured many challenges, like COVID. In this episode, Janie shares what it's like to manage a non-profit organization in the creative sector. Her love for theater is contagious and her heart for what it does to the kids who perform it even more!

We talk about:

  • The amazing origin story of Christian Youth Theatre that starts with Janie’s dad in Europe.
  • How Janie got involved in CYT
  • Dealing with COVID in a business that leans on coming together in person
  • The interesting business structure of CYT (non-profit) that leaves room for authenticity for every CYT branch
  • What you would need to start a CYT in your city (or perhaps any type of non-profit)
  • Sponsorship and if it’s hard to get it
  • Advice for anyone who wants to start a non-profit
  • Why CYT is not a religious organization but an educational organization, yet with Christian principles integrated, and how does that works in practice
  • The next 40 years for CYT
  • What Janie loves most about her job and live theatre

We hope this will be helpful to anyone considering starting or running a non-profit for the glory of God in the creative sector.

Andrew Tai had it all; a great career in investment banking with a promising future. But he left all of that behind to follow his dream: having his own business.

It started with Unhaggle, and today he is the CEO of MotoInsight, a global technology company (SaaS business) that makes buying new cars easier.

He has been in business for over a decade now, but doesn't take that for granted. There's so much he has learned over the past years and happily and openly shares with us in this episode.

  • What motivated Andrew to leave the comfort of a secure job behind and start his own business
  • How Andrew totally shifted from what they did as a business in the beginning to where they’re at now
  • What is needed to change some or all parts of how you run your business
  • Other ways to start a business than by raising money
  • A particular area in business that Andrew wasted his time on (learn from them 😉)
  • An unfortunate truth about entrepreneurship
  • How do you keep standing when things get hard? And there will be hard times…
  • Andrews perspective on a God-given calling in life
  • Would he ever go back to his secure job? (and he gives a beautiful answer!)
  • What would current Andrew advise his younger, busy, self that is just starting out his business?

I hope you will enjoy this rich conversation!
