Isn't it amazing how fast our faith in God can be minimized when life hits us hard?

We go to church on Sunday morning and praise Jesus. We hear a great Word. And we leave re-energized in our faith... only to get hit upside the head later that day as the reality of life drags our confidence back down!

Listen to this week's message as Pastor Kamron shares about this same scenario with the story of David and Goliath. The Israelite army went boldly into battle each day, only to run in fear when the enemy sent out its giant to taunt them, Goliath. But our God is greater. Let's be honest, we LOVE to be comfortable. Comfort almost seems like it's a "right" I have as an American. But as a Christian, where does the importance of my comfort fall?

If that's true. And if comfort is a huge goal in my life... something must change. Listen to this week's message and trade in your pursuit of comfort with a pursuit of Jesus. Pray with us for a healthy dose of boldness to share Jesus like we have never shared before.

Marvel movies have been a huge hit this past decade. Amazing heroes who save the day over and over. But as Pastor Kamron shares, there's always a requirement in each movie for the hero to willingly sacrifice their life in order to save others.

As much as we love a great movie, there's a much greater hero who did this on a cross. His name is Jesus. He died for you and me.

Listen to this week's message as we dive into John, chapter 10. Jesus shares how He is the Good Shepherd and we are the sheep. Jesus loves His sheep. And voluntarily surrenders His life for His sheep. Let's remember the great LOVE that Jesus has for us.

If you look at the life of Jesus, you see many amazing character traits. He loved us. He had amazing mercy for us. He was humble. But one that is undeniable and often overlooked... Jesus lived (and died) to SERVE.

This is our theme for Awaken Church in 2018: "To Serve Like Jesus"

Why is it important to embrace a servant's heart? Why should we strive to serve like Jesus? Listen to this week's message as Pastor Kamron talks about the duty of a Christian, which is to serve. Like Jesus. The world needs to see Jesus in us.

In the church we have this saying that goes like this, "Keep Christ in Christmas." But what if that's the wrong focus? What if we should be less concerned with how others incorporate Christ in Christmas...

And MORE concerned with how WE keep Christ... in CHRISTian?

We all have that person in our lives that we only hear from when they want something. Annoying, right? When we want to hang out with someone, they aren't on THAT list!

But how often do we treat God like that? The only time we call on Jesus is when WE want something. So, here's today's question: Do I seek God for His PRESENTS, or His PRESENCE? (Big difference)

In this week's message, Pastor Kamron talks about our need to be in God's presence. He talks about how we tend to push God away and then accuse God of abandoning us. And then defines who IS able to seek and worship in God's presence? Listen and find out for yourself.

We live in a world full of negativity and discouragement... around every corner. There are days that we struggle to find things to be thankful for.

But as Christians, this shouldn't be OUR problem. According to God's Word, we should be thankful in ALL circumstances. In fact, the passage Pastor Kamron focuses on today says we should be OVERFLOWING in thankfulness!

Listen to this week's message and accept our church wide challenge to be thankful each day this week. Declare it. Post it online. And tag it with #AwakenChurchThankfulChallenge. Let's show our friends that we ARE thankful for all God is doing in our lives!

The driving force behind our motivation as a church is our Vision, "To Awaken ONE More Life to be All-In with Christ."

But the "All-In" part of this statement tends to be the tough part for us. We struggle with going all in with Jesus. (If we are willing to be honest.)

Listen to this week's message as Pastor Kamron shares his heart when it comes to the need for us to embrace going ALL IN. He shares a quote from Mark Batterson's new book that says, "We are too Christian to enjoy sin... but too sinful to enjoy Christ!" WOW That should not be true. Like Elisha, we need to burn the plow, kill the ox, and go all in!

What's the most important part of what makes YOU? Is it your mind? Your body? Or your soul?

It's interesting that most of us would agree that our SOUL is the most important considering eternity. Yet we seem to spend most of our time focused on our mind and body.

But when the storms of life hit as Pastor Kamron compares our lives to Paul's experience in Acts 27... no perfect body or level of intelligence will save you from the rocks along the shore. So, the question is posed: "Where is MY soul anchored?" Listen to this week's message and answer this very important question for yourself.

It's a very real place. The Bible is clear about it. Jesus talked about Hell twice as much as He talked about Heaven. WHY? Because God's plan is that NO person would go there. Jesus provided the way to NOT go there.

But here is the rub. If Jesus talked about Hell SO much. Why don't we? Why do we placate those who might be going there? Listen to this week's message and see if you need to readjust your own reality of Hell.

We all can answer pretty easy, it's not hard to figure out. But as Pastor Kamron shares, those of us whose treasure is found here in the world... we have a treasure than can be destroyed. It can be stolen. It is a target that the enemy WILL attack.

As you will hear in this week's message, what if there is a treasure that enemy cannot attack? What if there is a great treasure that should be your heart's desire above all others? And it's untouchable by the enemy?

We have many changes happening in our lives today and no one is exempt. You probably realize this already.

But the problem with so many changes is we tend to forget about, or minimize, the importance of the UN-changing things in our lives. And the truth is that we serve an unchanging God.

Are there things/situations going on in your life today that are SCREAMING for your attention? (Especially during Christmas) Is your focus on the unchanging God minimized or forgotten because of it?

Listen to this week's message as Pastor Kamron talks about Joy. It's a common word that we throw around during the Christmas season. "Joy to the world" we sing. But when you allow "change" or unexpected situations to steal your joy... you are essentially saying this joy is a flakey joy. It's an optional joy.

This is a "2 for 1" message... what a great deal! :-)

Pastor Kamron starts off in Matthew 21 where Jesus flipped the tables in the temple and declared it was supposed to be called a house of prayer. It wasn't being used the way God intended.

How about you? What's your temple look like? (Hint: it's inside you now) Would Jesus find a heart/mind seeking Him... of selfishness, greed and many things that Jesus found in the temple in our passage?

It's time to let Jesus flip your tables and clean house. He will. Will you let Him?

The second part of today's message finds Jesus in the garden praying shortly before being arrested and hung on a cross. (Yeah, He did that for you and me.) Jesus prayed and asked God, if possible... to remove His cup of suffering He was about to endure.

But He ended this prayer with "Yet I want your will to be done, not mine." Is that you today? Like Jesus are you in a situation you don't want to be in? Take it to prayer... but finish it like Jesus did here. God's Will be done...

God is good. He loves you. Let's put Jesus back in the #1 position of our lives. He belongs there.

Do you feel like you are in a situation in your life that you can't see OUT of? You feel imprisoned in this situation with no possibility of being FREED?

But Peter serves the God OF the impossible. Our God CAN do anything. And Peter has faith in Jesus and he is "Standing Firm" in that faith!

Listen to today's message and see what happens to Peter. Spoiler alert - God shows up and saves him. It's a miracle. It's the outcome of standing firm in our faith in Jesus.

Today, Pastor Kamron teaches on Faith. Not just any faith... but an "all in" Faith in Jesus Christ. Using an illustration based on the tight rope walker who walked across Niagara Falls in 1859... do YOU have "Wheelbarrow-like Faith"?

If Jesus were to ask you to do something that seems crazy and ridiculous and the ONLY reason you would do it is humble obedience... would you do it?

The reality is, this ridiculous FAITH is not optional as a Believer in Jesus... it's mandatory. Do you have a FAITH in Jesus that reflects your "all IN" with Him?

Listen to the message today and see if your Faith needs to be transformed into a "Crazy Faith" that Pastor Kamron talks about today... you'll be blessed if you do!

Have you ever had the Holy Spirit challenge you to DO something or QUIT doing something... only to answer with "No, I can't do that"? Maybe you felt like you needed God to provide something in order for you to be capable of obedience?

Yeah, that's the case for the disciples in today's passage. Jesus was teaching on forgiveness to the degree of forgiving the same person 7 TIMES in one day! Can you image forgiving the same person like this? (Neither could the disciples... so they asked Jesus to "increase their faith" in order to obey.)

But like usual, Jesus had a different answer. And it speaks to more than just forgiving others. It's applicable to every instance you feel compelled by God to DO something.

Listen to Pastor Kamron's message this week and see if you have some things you are holding back on that you shouldn't be. Maybe you don't need more faith... maybe you just need more obedience!

This week we heard a challenging message from our guest speaker, Pastor Nate Elarton.

Pastor Nate looks at Mark 8 and talks about our need to actually FOLLOW Jesus. What's that look like? What does "taking up your cross" look like? It's not just important for your own life... but for the lives of those around you. (Your family, your neighbor, your co-workers...)

Listen today and see if this message won't challenge you to "follow Jesus" according to Mark 8!

Have you ever heard this phrase before, “If you’re not growing, you’re dying”?

It’s true. Just look at any living thing in the world today and at SOME level… if it’s alive, it’s still growing. Take a tree for example. It might reach its max height, but if it’s alive… it will still be growing in girth. (That’s where the rings come from in the trunk of a tree as it grows every year)

What about US? Not just physically… but spiritually? What about YOU?

The question today is an important one. If you look at your life and compare it with where you were at the beginning of this year, have you personally grown? Do YOU look more like Jesus today than you did on January 1st, 2016?

Listen to this week’s message as Pastor Kamron breaks down Peter’s 8 attributes that we need to GROW in, in order to “be more productive and useful… in our knowledge of… Jesus”. See if you too can claim the promise of knowing that if you do these things, you will never fall away!

Listen to the news and watch those in places of influence in America today... what are you hearing? Division. Anger. Finger pointing. Blame.

This week Pastor Kamron touches on a hot button topic of the current "White America vs. Black America" issue that seems to be gaining steam. What should OUR reaction be in rural Northern Michigan? Ignore? Just pray? Shout in unison?

The bigger question posed this week, what should this issue cause ME to reflect on in my own life? Am I seeing the hurt in people right here in our own back yard? CAN I see it? Or am I so comfortable in my own place in the world... that those hurting right next door might as well be rioting in Chicago for all I care?

BIG questions and HUGE topic. But an important thought to wrestle with in each of our lives. Listen to the message today and see if you too can pull down some walls in YOUR life that might be keeping you from reaching out for Jesus. You might be surprised!

Our faith in Jesus is founded on the truth's we read in the Bible. The Church believes that the Bible is God's Word. It is the Inspired Word of our Living God...

Why?

Or maybe better yet, like Pilot sarcastically answered Jesus... "What is truth?" Who says the Bible is the Word of God? And if it is, how do I know that the translations we have today are the same as the original manuscripts we no longer have?

Those are great questions. If you are struggling with the fact that the Bible IS the Word of God... maybe you can't get past the "written by men" part. Or if you just want to be more confident in the legitimacy of the Bible being God's Word. Listen to this weeks message as Pastor Kamron starts the conversation.

See if you can't walk away from this able to declare in YOUR life. "The Bible to me IS the inspired Word of God. It IS Truth!"

What is your personal view of the Bible? Do you believe that it is the Word of God? If so, do you actually DO what you read in the Bible?

Those are some great questions that we will tackle this week and next Sunday. Today Pastor Kamron tackles James 1:22 and the truth that we can't just hear the Bible, read the Bible or even study the Bible... we must also DO what it says. We must be DOER's of God's Word.

Listen to this weeks message and see if this passage of scripture in James is something you need to revisit as well. God loves you so much and He wants to lead you in this life.

It starts with His Word...

We don’t “bow” to anyone these days. It’s not part of our culture; it’s rarely appropriate outside of getting on one knee to propose in marriage. But the truth is… we should be doing it every day.

Every… single… day.

Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He is our Redeemer. He is our Salvation. Jesus is our King. And we owe Him everything we have and everything we ARE. Daily, we must bow to our King.

Listen to this week’s message as Pastor Kamron shares what that means in “real life”. This concept that we must bow to Jesus every day. The truth is this… there will come a day soon where no matter what you do this day, EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue will declare that Jesus Christ is Lord. So why not be ready today?
