Understanding the Ages: Recent Episodes

In the New Testament the Disciples asked Jesus about the signs for the end of the age (Matt. 24).
This series of messages examines the seven ages described in the Bible and explains how each age is a step forward in God’s kingdom plan.
Understanding the different ages enables us to better interpret the times in which we now live, especially as this age draws to an end with the coming again of Jesus Christ.
In Matthew 24 Jesus gives an extended discourse about the end of this Age. God’s redemptive purposes unfolding for Israel is a key indicator of God’s prophetic timeclock.
Each Age unfolds a new blessing as part of God’s kingdom purposes. This blessing continues to multiply in succeeding Ages.
Death was introduced when Adam and Eve sinned. Jesus in his death and resurrection won the victory over sin and death. At the beginning of the 6th Age Jesus was resurrected. At the beginning of the 7th Age multitudes experience the first resurrection. At the end of the 7th Age everyone left is resurrected to eternal life or eternal death in the Lake of Fire.
The ultimate goal of God is to destroy death and every separation between God and mankind. God remodels earth and heaven and makes them into one reality. Earth and heaven are one just as God and Mankind are one.
The Millennium Kingdom sees every nation set free from idolatry. Many of the ravages of demonic activity are negated and there is a new experience of God’s peace over all mankind and all creatures of the earth.
God has been at work since the first age, and the fall of man, to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. The Seventh Age is the Kingdom of God manifested on earth and no longer disrupted by the oppression of Satan.
Mary is the mother of Emmanuel, God with us. This Sixth Age manifests the presence of God with all of his people in greater measure than ever before. This is true for the Jew and the Gentile who are made to be One New Man.
This present Age which is unfolding with the gospel of the kingdom being preached to all nations. The culmination of this Age will see Satan banished and the Kingdom of God ruling over all nations.
A number of significant moves of God are established over 3 consecutive Ages. These include prophecy, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and the establishment of the Kingdom rule of Jesus over Israel and all nations.
Samuel as the Father of the Prophets multiplies the prophetic voice in Israel and establishes the foundation of an eternal kingdom.
This episode looks at how God wrote the 10 Commandments for Moses and how this started the revelation of God’s word in written form. God also reveals the importance of the Firstborn. In the appointed feasts God provides a prophetic calendar.
God rescued his people from Egypt. God revealed himself personally to Moses, Joshua, and all the people of Israel. God establishes a covenant with a whole nation.
With the personal appearance of God at the beginning and end of each Age God’s judgement is also made manifest. Faith moves the judgement of God from death and destruction to salvation and blessing.
God called Abraham and promised to give him a land, make him a great nation, and through him bless all nations. The first step of God ruling over all nations was to create a nation set aside to be his covenant people.
Before God destroyed the world he first appeared to Noah and revealed his plans. Through Noah, mankind and the animals were saved from destruction and death. In the new age, God created nations to populate and have dominion over all the earth.
The Tower of Babel revealed the continued corruption of sin affecting mankind. The corruption of the Babylonian system continues to the end of this (Sixth) Age. The creation of nations is a part of God’s salvation plan.
This age displayed the repercussions of the introduction, impact and implication of sin over all creation. Amid this story of woe God introduced a promise of salvation.
Adam and Eve were created in the image of God and given authority over all the world. Sin, corruption and death were set loose into God’s creation. Cain’s rejection of God’s warning about sin heralded the spread of sin, corruption and death over all creation.
There are seven characteristics integral to the pattern of each age. Understanding the pattern of these characteristics provides the key to identifying the different ages. Each of the different ages reveal an important step in the unfolding of God’s plan of salvation.
