This week on the podcast our guest is Tim Drylie who's an accredited Energy Efficiency Assessor.

We discuss memories of some of the most inefficient homes we've lived in (Shaynna even admits to decorating one share house with tin foil on the walls!) and how our approach to heating and cooling has changed over the years.

Tim outlines how a Residential Efficiency Scorecard assessment can help home owners and rental providers target the areas for improvement that will delivery cost savings in a home.

Shaynna shares some of her favourite features in her Country Home renovation in Kyneton that deliver the comforts and energy efficient home should have (like underfloor heating and solar power - even when the whole neighbourhood is blacked out!).

Shaynna gives us a little update on The Block and the dynamic of the team as filming progresses.

As we head into winter we also discuss how to incorporate a seasonal change into your home styling.

We answer a whole host of listener questions including a great question that prompts a discussion about one of Shaynna's most inspiring design projects to date for New Direction Care in Bellmere, Queensland.

The brief was to create a neighbourhood café within the New Direction retail precinct that would cater both to residents, and to the local Bellmere community. Shaynna designed the café to resemble a traditional Queensland coffee shop, but incorporated bespoke furniture design, a range of specialised functional fabrics and carefully selected patterns to accommodate the complex care needs of New Direction’s elderly residents and for those living with younger onset dementia. Check out pictures of the project HERE.
