Together, they unpack the 'bystander theory' what it means, why people often choose not to intervene, and how we can all become more confident active bystanders.
In rural communities, where “minding your own business” can feel like the norm, this discussion looks at the challenges and importance of stepping in, speaking up, and supporting others.

We talk to Louise and Sara about the CHANGES programme.
The changes programme is a perpetrator prevention programme made up of 25 group sessions and 2 one to ones with check in calls throughout. Men attending the programme do not have to live in the area which the group is held (Ilkeston and Swadlincote) but must be willing to travel and commit to all the sessions. A partner safety worker works alongside the programme offering support to (ex)partners.
The programme can be accessed through agency referrals such as social care or via a self-referral.
