Greetings and welcome back to the Unpopular Playground!

In this episode you will have a detailed breakdown of our humble beginnings, where we are currently and what's to come. We've been away for a while to figure things out and how best to get out our content, as well as have a schedule of WHEN and how often to publish it. We need to have time to brainstorm how we shall accomplish this all with our schedules, what time we can devote to research and also to consider the topics and experiences that we can draw from to develop USEFUL content that you will benefit from and get the results you are seeking in your lives.

We want our world to be a better place and often times it begins with one single match, a single flame within us to share and set the world on fire, as we all share and help one another to build and how amazing is it to also see the tangible results knowing that you have helped to make a difference, just with your participation in life and passing along what you've learned?

We also break down in detail our new membership that we will be commencing in the fall called Recess300 and we will also have a free community UP Street where you can gather to share what you've learned, your ideas and ask questions and assist one another. Our Recess300 membership is an exclusive enhancement of our free community in that you get to enjoy a weekly (at minimum) access with myself and/or my team on a weekly basis for: courses, Q&A, community, opportunities for meet ups and more.

For more information you can contact us by email at: unpopularplayground@jennlin1791.info and also on instagram @unpopularplayground1791

Greetings! Welcome to here on the Unpopular Playground. In this episode of Bloom Where You Are Planted we will be discussing the deception and devastating effects of aggressive marketing of unhealthy foods to vulnerable children by the major food companies through video games called ADVERGAMES. It's not having adds within the game, but these games ARE the ADVERT. In this way, food companies are able to bypass the FTC regulations of deceitful advertising through gaming. Greetings! Welcome to here on the Unpopular Playground. In this Thursday episode of The Jenn Express where we begin our series on the difference between fashion and style. It's most logical however to begin with the fashion world in the context of culture and the fortunate mainly wanting to distinguish themselves from the middle class, and how the middle class always desiring to appear most fortunate and "keep up with the Jones's" from as far back as the Egyptian's. We highlight the insanity of attempting such a feat, and how the poor remain poor in this attempt. The lux brands of today know this and prey upon the less fortunate as a result. Our objective is to help you to see and successfully get off this insane bandwagon of "fast fashion" in favor of discovering and reflecting your personal style that is not dependent upon exterior forces to: define, and validate you. In this episode of BLACKPILL FRIDAY we will be opening up the discussion and going down the "rabbit hole" of No Child Left Behind and the aftermath of it, but more importantly as this series progresses, highlight some opportunities for your family on how all can thrive in spite of the destruction from it. Jenn Lin was knee deep in it as both mother and teacher and one who saw things from both sides of the school desk.

This first episode goes specifically into the history of where and how it began and the well meaning intention that mutated into something that was not beneficial for: schools, teachers and especially NOT families. Greetings! Welcome to here on the Unpopular Playground. In this episode of Moxie Living we will be discussing how and where to begin de-cluttering your living space to increase your productivity. Having the ability to find your things for one, is a great start!

Some ideas that we got for "Mission De-clutter" was from the You Tube Channel "The Minimal Mom" and our balanced twist on what has worked for us. We've gone from "Hoarders" to a functional home, but not necessarily to the minimalist lifestyle.

Jenn-Lin gives her thoughts on "Cancel Culture" only after carefully defining what it is through current mainstream definition and then goes into intimate detail on how it looks in the classroom.  She also described it on the school playground in it's rawest form and a theory of how it mutated into what it is now. She cited a few quality relevant sources that has affected students inside and out and how it has caused many to spiral downward into: depression, anxiety and perhaps even suicide.   What are your thoughts?  You can email Jenn-Lin at: atomicjenn1791@jennlin1791.net  and even leave a voicemail with a question or statement.  If your question and/or thought provoking statement is one that could benefit the majority of this community she will include it in a future episode.   You can become a member of Jenn-Lin's social media platform communities through her website at: jennlin1791.com See You There!

This is a perfect springboard into our next discussion theme for the 2021 year which is "Know Thyself".  It is impossible to communicate effectively without FIRST knowing yourself.  Please feel free to take this personality test so that you will have a good idea of where you and/or your child fits into the discussion as we begin to digest helping you to know yourself.  This month will be your personality and how you process your information. The Myers-Briggs test is a great baseline, but certainly not the "end all" of what a person is.  It's a good starting point. Free Personality Test | 16Personalities In the upcoming weeks we will be discussing the benefits of knowing yourself and how you can get the most out of interaction with life through effective communication on all levels.   The current school system is archaic and broken as so many kids hate school, and young adults have shared with us on numerous occasions about how unprepared they are for a life beyond academics.   Brittany and I have a tag team approach with the aim of bridging the gap between school and home by educating parents and teachers (who are still in the classroom) of some things that can be done to ultimately help the kids succeed.   We realize there are NUMEROUS obstacles for classroom teachers (pointless meetings that can easily be put in a memo, state and federal "guidelines" as well as individual school policies and procedures).  How can teachers even do their jobs when they have their hands tied with so much political red tape?   Then there are the personal everyday family struggles on SO MANY levels that impede learning before the students EVEN REACH the classroom. Our Aim is to assist you all, EVERY STEP OF THE WAY to helping you all get the MOST out of life and your education and to maneuver around that red tape.  We can get far by calling out the problems and starting the conversations that should have been started long ago, but more importantly to develop solutions. Though it's much easier for us to categorize our things to make them easier to find and to know how to approach certain things, people (especially kids) are not so easy to label.  Most are unpredictable and so many things are circumstantial and how we respond/react to situations and other people are dependent upon our exposure to things. Quiet and bossy kids would translate to social scientists and psychologists as introverts and extraverts, but many who live in the day to day easily make assumptions and then label others according to what they see, without knowing the entire story.  #finaljudgment -which should be avoided at call costs, as we ourselves hate it no doubt.

It's important to look into though because things like school shootings and other public tragedies occur simply because needs are not being met.  Kids often don't know how to deal with their emotions and many can't even name how they are feeling.  Sadly many don't even feel safe to feel anything because their real feelings are in contradiction with the household narrative.

Join our discussion as we explore  our FOUR part series to dispel the myths of quiet/bossy kids at home and within school.  We will then break down each type on it's own episode and then conclude with different ways to help validate and challenge to bring out the best for their preferred style of interacting with the world.

Nov 7 • 1:15:21 This episode has been submitted for review. We’ll notify you as soon as it’s been published to Spotify. Hi, Jenn-Lin accidently deleted the first introduction lesson and this is a reset/re-do attempt so that you can get to know Jenn-Lin and Brittany a little more and their background. We're just getting started with our mission to help families through discussions on various topics to bridge the gap between home and school.  You can listen to a quick "behind the scenes" clip, (because I couldn't figure out how to delete it, oops!). Check out our backgrounds, favorite things that drive our passion and our "Why".  We're taking the basic: Who, what, when, where, why, and how approach. Our thought is that if you know a little about us then you can relate to us and know that we are both mothers (but from different view with her with young kids and myself with an adult kid). Brittany has extensive experience working with families in the positive psychology realm and myself in the classroom for several years. As we get started, we begin with the setbacks, and our focus on the deep concerns for kids' mental health (which is often overlooked). Our mission comes together with the concern for kids and helping them cope inside and out of the classroom and as individuals. We are excited to have the unpopular conversations that so many do not want to discuss. It is our thought that if these conversations would have happened, perhaps more problems would've been solved sooner; many problems are yet to be solved.  We plan to have these conversations. Please feel free to email and/or leave a voice mail on any comment or questions that you may have.  If it's something that everyone can benefit from , we just might use it on the show! Another look at where bullies come from and where kids are seeing them.  They are not only found on the school playground but especially in the "cyber world" where most kids are.  You'll be surprised (or maybe not) to discover that most of them are adults! 2020 is the year of Karen and she's swinging with a vengeance never seen in previous years.  (Our apologies if your name is Karen)  Even if you have a charitable atmosphere at home, what about when your children go into society?  When they must do assignments? What are the examples they are seeing.   It really doesn't matter if you have children or not, if you are an adult, you must stop to think,  "What kind of example am I setting?"  Yes it takes a village and the world is it and kids see and determine how to behave by EXAMPLE, and not so much by what is said.   What are your thoughts? You can leave a message for both Brittany and myself on the voicemail and/or contact me at: Jennlin1791.com We look forward to hearing from you!

School is a prison for many students now a days. Have you ever wondered what the purpose of your attendance is? What do YOU think it’s for? What is it SUPPOSED to be? This is ONLY the beginning of this journey to discover first where the disconnect occurred in the school systems inability to adequately prepare students for life. School is compulsory and a lot of kids hate going. University is also NO guarantee for success in life either. This seems to be the most logical start point in which to begin this journey to first, discover and name the problem and then to develop REAL solutions and from what clearly hasn’t been working and highlight some viable options for what is working in your life. Make sure to drop a voicemail and/or an email (atomicjenn@jennlin1791.com to get in on the discussion!
