“Well, look, I’ve been in this business for about 20-something years, and I’ve promoted everyone, including Mayweather, including Pacquiao, all the very best,” De La Hoya told co-hosts Barak Bess and Akin Reyes, whose show streams weekdays on DAZN and SiriusXM. “I’ve had one fighter who in the past, in all those 20 years, that wasn’t happy. But I’m pretty sure that I’ll be working with him once again. I have no doubt whatsoever. I mean, look, people always think that the grass is greener on the other side. Well, we’ll see.”
This one is a little odd, to say the least. Ring legend Julio Cesar Chavez will box Hector Camacho Jr in an exhibition bout set for June 19th in Guadalajara, Mexico, the card dubbed “Tribute To The Kings.”
Also on the card will be Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, against an opponent to be named, presumably in an actual fight, not an exhibition. While Omar Chavez and Ramon Alvarez will meet in a rubber match, the two each holding a win over the other.

As expected, Canelo controlled this fight from the opening bell. He was a massive favorite to essentially walk through Yildirim and that’s exactly what he did, despite being the smaller fighter. Canelo took little time dissecting his challenger and putting an end to him in the third round.

Following his brief jail stint after being held in contempt of court, Adrien Broner is back on social media to flash a little cash. Days ago, Broner stood before a frustrated judge who questioned him about an unpaid $800K judgment. The champion boxer was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub years ago, and after she was awarded her judgment in the case, Broner reportedly failed to pay up. He instead told the court that he was broke, noting that he only has $13 cash to his name. However, according to reports, his legal team didn't turn over the proper paperwork to prove these claims, so when Broner returned to court, the judge wanted to know why he was flashing stacks of large bills on social media.
Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has made some startling accusations against current champion Tyson Fury. The Bronze Bomber alleged that Fury’s gloves were loaded, and despite that, it still took a “crab in a bucket referee and a disloyal trainer” to stop him.

Mike Tyson's long-teased return to the ring for an exhibition bout is now locked in. Tyson will take on fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. on Sept. 12 at Dignity Health Sports Arena in Los Angeles. Both men are in their 50s, with their prime days as athletes well behind them, but the combination of nostalgia and curiosity could make the event one of the biggest fights of the year for boxing, despite it's status as a California State Athletic Commission-sanctioned exhibition.
“Arum is a living legend of boxing. He has influenced our sport for 54 years, has been responsible for many great fights and has worked very closely with us on behalf of boxing,” said WBA President Gilberto Jesús Mendoza.
A big step has been taken on the path to bringing that vision to life, as the 23-year old southpaw from Newark, New Jersey has officially abandoned his featherweight title reign in favor of a run at junior lightweight. The move was acknowledged by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), whose 126-pound crown Stevenson (14-0, 8KOs)has held since a 12-round whitewash of Joet Gonzalez last October.

“We have contacted most of our fighters,” Arum told co-hosts Gerry Cooney and Randy Gordon. “We plan to launch the first week in June in a safe, secure way. We’re gonna initially launch in Nevada. We’ve made arrangements or are making arrangements with a hotel. We can get everybody tested, put them in a bubble and get these fights on. And unfortunately, because a lot of it requires so much extra work and care and testing that we’re gonna limit our fight shows to four fights a card. But that’s the bad side.
“The good side is we hope, we’re arranging with ESPN to do two or three events every week. So, because you know, you take a big sports network like ESPN, ESPN+, they don’t have live sports now and putting boxing on, particularly top-level boxing, will attract big audiences.”

Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder is eliminating every person that he views as a "snake" from his camp.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (51-4-1) insists that he is now a dedicated fighter. After missing weight on multiple occasions and even changing weight limits during his fight weeks throughout his career, the former middleweight champion said that he is now much more disciplined.
Chavez appeared last week on the WBC University Facebook stream and spoke about what he is doing during President Trump's stay at home recommendation that will extend through the end of April due to the covid-19 pandemic.
"I am using the lockdown to stay focused and stay in shape. I have a room in my house that I converted for my training," Chavez said from his Los Angeles home.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman asked Chavez about his training and his life in general as most of the United States is leaving their homes only on a very limited basis.
"What I am doing is I am dedicating 5 hours a day to my boxing training. I have more time to spend with my daughters and the rest of the time I am doing my training. I am taking advantage of the lockdown to lose weight and to stay closer to the weight I need to be at so that when this crisis is over - even though we don't know when that is - I will be ready to fight. That is my goal," Chavez explained.
Chavez fought twice last year after having not fought since 2017 when he lost to Canelo Alvarez. In August he demolished Evert Bravo in his native Mexico in a tune up bout. Then in December he retired on his stool after 5 rounds against Danny Jacobs. Chavez started out boxing well before suffering a broken nose which made it difficult for him to breathe.
Even though he has lost 2 out of his last 2 fights, the 34-year-old believes that he will be better than ever once he is able to resume his career.
"Like you said this has really benefited me. I have had time to rest. I am coming off of the fight in Mexico and then in Phoenix and now I have rested and have that time to spend with my family. This has helped me stabilize myself and strengthen my relationship with my wife and daughters. This has helped me a lot and now I am just focused on boxing. Obviously I am cognizant and worried about what is happening in the world with things that are out of my control but hopefully everyday it will get better," said Chavez.
Julio César Chávez Jr., the first middleweight champion in the history of Mexican boxing, made it clear that despite all of the criticism, he has three or four years left in professional boxing, and did not rule out rematches with Canelo Alvarez or Daniel Jacobs and even a fight with Gennadiy Golovkin.
Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder said he had surgery on his left bicep following his seventh-round loss to Tyson Fury on Feb. 22.
"Recovery is going well," the 34-year-old Wilder told the PBC podcast. "I'm in therapy. I ended up injuring it in my last fight, somewhere up in there. But everything is going great with it. That's another thing I'm just focusing in on -- recovery, getting myself back to full health.

“He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is my uniform was way too heavy for me,” he said, according to Yahoo Sports. “I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through. I was only able to put it on (for the first time) the night before, but I didn’t think it was going to be that heavy.”
Fury dispensed with the skillful boxing he was so successful with the first time he met Deontay Wilder and followed through with his stated plan to attack him. And attack him he did -- relentlessly.
It's all over and we have a new WBC heavyweight champion of the world. Tyson Fury manhandled Deontay Wilder over seven grueling rounds before the "Bronze Bomber's" corner threw in the towel to declare Fury the winner. As expected, Claressa Shields made history on Friday night in Atlantic City. The two-time Olympic Gold Medalist further qualified her claim as the Greatest Woman of All Time with a masterful and lopsided unanimous-decision win over Ivana Habazin. The victory earned her the WBC and WBO super welterweight titles, and made Shields the fastest fighter to win world titles in three different divisions.
Adrien Broner is offering up an explanation ... calling the whole thing an "honest mistake."

Bhad Bhabie -- AKA Danielle Bregoli -- is publicly shaming boxing star Adrien Broner for trying to slide into her DMs.
She's 16 years old. He's 30.

Bregoli posted a screenshot showing an Instagram notification from Broner which reads, "Text me crazy girl."
She attached a video of the Akon song, "Locked Up" -- a clear shot at Broner for hitting up a minor.
Bregoli's fans immediately went after the boxer on social media -- lighting up his page with comments saying he should go to jail ... and even tagging the FBI and Atlanta Police.
Earlier in the day, Bregoli created a social media buzz by posting a video in which she's modeling a crop top. Broner's message seems to be in response to that clip.
We reached out to Broner for comment -- so far, no word back.
It's the latest misstep for Broner who was just ordered to pay more than $700k to his sexual assault victim stemming from a 2018 incident at a Cleveland nightclub.

At the end of the previous decade, the two welterweights were regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, and they first seriously discussed fighting in 2009.
They didn’t meet, though, until May 2, 2015, finally putting an end to the annoying question, “Do you think Floyd and Manny will ever fight?” That question caused boxing journalists to have nightmares.
The bout became known as “The Money Fight,” because Mayweather made more than $200 million and Pacquiao earned in excess of $100 million. Mayweather won a clear unanimous decision in a fight that wasn’t nearly as good as it could have been several years earlier.
It sold 4.6 million on pay-per-view and generated a $72.2 million gate.
- HBO exits boxing after 45 years
After being the lifeblood of boxing since the early 1980s, HBO called it quits in 2018 and gave up on boxing broadcasting. Its first boxing broadcast, in 1973, was a heavyweight title fight between Joe Frazier and George Foreman.
It televised bouts involving most of the greatest stars of the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. But it was losing the battle for the top fights near the end and wasn’t getting the interest from its subscribers it once did.

Mayweather rocked the sport in 2013 and probably hastened HBO’s departure when he left the network after 15 years and signed a deal with rival Showtime.
With Showtime, Mayweather broke the pay-per-view sales record twice and exceeded two million sales in a bout three times.
- Legendary heavyweights Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier die
The rivalry between Ali and Frazier defined a generation. They were two of the greatest heavyweights who ever lived, and among the most popular. Their March 8, 1971, bout is still regarded by many boxing historians as the most significant bout int eh sport’s history.
They fought three times, with Frazier winning the first when both were undefeated and had a claim to the heavyweight title. Ali won the last two, including the memorable ‘Thrilla in Manila’ in 1975.
Frazier died of liver cancer on Nov. 7, 2011, at 67. Ali died on June 3, 2016, of septic shock at 74.
- Boxing returns to network TV
Boxing was a staple on network television in the 1950s and 1960s, but scandal, the development of cable and the emergence of other sports pushed it off the networks in large part.
But since 2015, there has been regular coverage of boxing on free, over-the-air television in the U.S., a significant accomplishment in helping to drive interest in the sport. It first came to NBC and is now with Fox, though there were also fights on CBS this decade.
- Al Haymon creates the Premier Boxing Champions
Al Haymon was known as one of the top boxing managers when in 2015, he created the PBC. It used many of the elite fighters that Haymon had signed and created a major entity putting on shows.
Haymon also opened his wallet and paid larger than customary purses, helping improve boxers’ financial situation.
- Boxing goes digital
In 2018, streaming came to boxing, with DAZN and ESPN+ becoming part of the sport’s lexicon. DAZN had an outlandish budget and signed Canelo Alvarez to a record $365 million contract, one of the richest ever given to a pro athlete.
It meant that the biggest star in the sport would no longer compete on either network or cable television.
DAZN faced competition in the streaming space from ESPN, which went all in with stream as per the company’s management at Disney. ESPN+ debuted and became a must-have destination for fight fans in short order.
- Floyd Mayweather fights Conor McGregor in boxer vs. MMA fighter bout
This might have been the first fight made via social media. Mayweather was already retired but regarded as among the greatest fighters of all-time when UFC champion Conor McGregor began campaigning for a fight against him.
At first, both sides laughed it off, but the media and fans took it seriously and soon the fight became a reality. There was an elaborate pre-fight media tour that went from Los Angeles to Toronto to New York to London.
The fight did 4.3 million on pay-per-view and generated a $55.4 million gate.
- Emergence of fresh blood at heavyweight
The Klitschko brothers, Wladimir and Vitali, dominated the early part of the decade. Vitali Klitschko retired after injuries kept him from competing and he became mayor of Kiev, Ukraine. Wladimir Klitschko was racking up title defenses until he was beaten by Tyson Fury, and then in a compelling battle with Anthony Joshua.
Fury and Joshua fueled huge interest in the United Kingdom, but Deontay Wilder emerged in the U.S. to win the WBC title and earn recognition as one of the hardest punchers in the sport’s history.
And then Andy Ruiz Jr. scored a massive June 1 upset of Joshua to become the first boxer of Mexican descent to hold a piece of the heavyweight title. The decade ended with the heavyweights in a great place.
- Oscar De La Hoya goes in and out of rehab multiple times
De La Hoya is one of the leading figures in the sport’s recent history and was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2014 in his first year of eligibility.
But he was plagued by addiction issues and went into rehabilitation multiple times, missing a huge Canelo Alvarez fight as well as a Bernard Hopkins bout when Hopkins became the oldest man in boxing history to win a world title.
Daniel Jacobs was looking to make a splash in what was supposed to be his super middleweight debut Friday night against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Things started to south Thursday when Chavez came in nearly five pounds overweight and an agreement had to be reached for a 173-pound catchweight.
NEW YORK CITY (Dec. 14, 2019) — Egidijus "Mean Machine" Kavaliauskas was game, but pound-for-pound king Terence "Bud" Crawford was too much.
Crawford (36-0, 27 KOs) defended his WBO welterweight world title, knocking down Kavaliauskas three times en route to a ninth-round TKO in front of 10,101 fans at Madison Square Garden.
“I thought I had to entertain ya’ll for a little bit. He’s a strong fighter, durable, and I thought I’d give the crowd something to cheer for," Crawford said. “I wasn’t hurt at all. I got up and went straight to him. I wasn’t hurt by no means. I walked through everything he threw all night.
“I’m not ducking anyone on the PBC side or Top Rank platform. I want to fight all the top guys.”
Kavaliauskas (21-1-1, 17 KOs) had some success early, even buzzing Crawford in the third round with a near-knockdown. Crawford rebounded, reloaded and dominated per usual, cementing his status at the top of the welterweight and pound-for-pound heap.
Teofimo Lopez Blows Out Richard Commey
A superstar was born.
Teofimo Lopez (15-0, 12 KOs) blitzed Richard Commey (29-3, 26 KOs) in two rounds to win the IBF lightweight world title. Lopez knocked Commey down with a right hand in the second round and followed up with a savage combination that forced referee David Fields to stop the fight.
Lopez made history in becoming the first boxer of Honduran descent to win a world title. He is now on track to challenge unified champion Vasiliy Lomachenko in a fight that would crown an undisputed champion in 2020.
“I’m at a loss for words right now. This is a dream come true," Lopez said. "{Commey} is a bad man. His shot could’ve done the same to me if he hit me with that shot.
“You all know who I want to fight next. 2020 is going to be a big year. ‘The Takeover’ has arrived, and you haven’t seen anything yet.”
Said Lomachenko: “We want to ‘unificate’ all four titles. Now he’s a world champion and now he’s in position to fight me.”
Conlan Wins Grudge Match
Revenge came for Michael “Mick” Conlan, but it was wasn’t easy. The pride of Belfast, Conlan earned a 10-round unanimous decision over Vladimir Nikitin to retain his WBO Intercontinental featherweight belt by scores of 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92. Conlan controlled the bout, but Nikitin had his moments and found a home for his overhand right.
Nikitin (3-1, 0 KOs) was the beneficiary of a controversial decision over Conlan (13-0, 7 KOs) at the 2016 Rio Olympics, a decision that sparked an international firestorm and set up this highly anticipated grudge match.
“It was a lot of pressure going into that fight, but it’s nice to get it done. I just needed to get that one back," Conlan said. “I needed to right this wrong. Full credit to Nikitin, who fought his heart out. There’s no bad blood. There never was. Now, we can put this chapter of my career behind me.”
— This wasn't unlucky number 13. Super middleweight sensation Edgar "The Chosen One" Berlanga (13-0, 13 KOs) scored the 13th consecutive first-round knockout to begin his career, icing the normally durable Cesar Nunez (16-2-1, 8 KOs) in only 2:45. Berlanga notched a pair of knockdowns before the referee halted the bout.
Berlanga said he came into the fight determined to keep his first-round knockout streak going in honor of his late cousin, Anthony Santana, who was murdered during training camp.
"It feels amazing to be able to represent {Puerto Rico} on such a big and important stage as Madison Square Garden," Berlanga said. "My cousin was killed while I was preparing for this fight and that's why I wanted to dedicate this fight to him. I wanted to keep my first-round knockout streak going for him. I did it. I promise that for the next one I will go more rounds and I will be able to show all my skills. I'm not just a puncher."
— Josue "The Prodigy" Vargas (16-1, 9 KOs), the Bronx product, put on a show in front of the home fans and bested former sparring partner Noel Murphy (14-2-1, 2 KOs) via unanimous decision (98-92 3X) to win the vacant IBF North American junior welterweight title.

TRIBUTE TO Harold Lederman

Harold Lederman, a longtime boxing judge who served more than 30 years as the unofficial scorer on HBO Sports broadcasts, died Saturday at 79 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Lederman, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2016, began judging boxing in 1967. In 1986, he joined the HBO Boxing crew, where he helped a generation of fans understand the rules and the intricacies of scoring boxing.
His passion for boxing was obvious in his work and to anyone who met him. He was eager to talk about the great fight that was on television the week before as well as the hot young prospect he happened to see in person on an undercard somewhere.
He gave up judging in 1999 — he worked his final bout, a super flyweight match between Eric Morel and Francisco Espitia, on Aug. 6, 1999, alongside his daughter, Julie — and spent the final 29 years of his career working on HBO’s boxing telecasts.
A licensed pharmacist, Lederman was frequently in the arena long before the TV cameras turned on, enjoying the undercard bouts and talking with fight fans.
Jim Lampley, who began working with Lederman at HBO Sports in 1986 and himself went on to earn induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, raved about his friend in a statement released by an HBO Sports spokesman.
“It was one of the greatest privileges of my broadcasting career to work with Harold Lederman, whose unique humanity and lifelong love of boxing brought joy to the hearts of millions of fans, show after show after show,” Lampley said. “They waited for his moments, they were thrilled by his insights, they gloried in imitating his voice. No one in the sport had more friends, because no one in the sport was more deserving of friends. As deeply saddened as I am by his passing, I am equally deeply joyful that he made it to the final bell on December 8. Nothing was more important to the legacy of HBO Boxing, so in that we can all take solace. Now his scorecard is complete.”
Lederman’s accomplishments are vast, and recognized by the awards he won. In addition to his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Lederman was also a member of the Unofficial: WORLD BOXING HALL OF FAME and the @Rockland County, New York, Sports Hall of Fame.
In addition, he won the Boxing Writers Association of America Sam Taub Award in 2009 for career broadcast excellent. In 2006, in a choice which surprised no one who knew him, the Boxing Writers Association also honored him with its Marvin Kohn Good Guy Award.
Lederman’s judging career covered more than 100 world title fights which were held on six continents. Among the significant fights he judged were Muhammad Ali Ken Norton ; Michael Spinks Gerry Cooney; Evander Holyfield Dwight Muhammad Qawi Larry Holmes Champ's Corner-Spinks; Marvelous Marvin Hagler FAN CLUB -Mustafa Hamsho; Michael Dokes-Mike Weaver; Wilfredo Gomez-Lupe Pintor; Donald Curry Marlon Starling; Cooney-Ken Norton; Roberto Duran-Carlos Palomino; Matthew Saad Muhammad-Marvin Johnson; James Scott-Eddie Mustafa Muhammad; Emile Griffith-Vito Antuofermo; and Griffith-Dick Tiger.
He was known for explaining the scoring criteria succinctly and wasn’t afraid to criticize a score if he thought the judges got it wrong. Later in his career, HBO took advantage of his encyclopedic knowledge of the sport and his love affair with the game and recorded segments promoting some of its fights it dubbed, “Hey Harold.”
“Harold Lederman had a lifelong love affair with the sport of boxing,” said Peter Nelson, the executive vice president of HBO Sports, in a statement. “Over the past 50 years he was universally respected and celebrated by the many people who make the sport what it is. Harold was happiest when seated ringside, studying the action and scoring the fight. When he joined HBO Sports in 1986 he added a new and critical component to live boxing coverage. Viewers embraced his unique style and his command of the rules while his broadcast colleagues relished his enthusiasm and boundless energy. He was a historian and walking rulebook. He always had time for you whether you were a heavyweight champion or just a spectator looking to say hello. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Eileen and daughters Julie and Iris. There isn’t a person in the sport who won’t miss our Harold Lederman.”

Trainer Eddy Reynoso insists that Saul Canelo Alvarez will one day be the #1 Mexican fighter ever when he retires from the sport. Right now, it’s still too early to consider Canelo anything more than just a good fighter.
Alvarez didn’t look good in his last fight against IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs. Each week, I’ll post my 10 choices for the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world. To understand this, it helps to understand what pound-for-pound means. To me, and the way I’ll be voting, it’s who would win a fight if everyone weighed the same and all of their skills and physical attributes were proportional. For example, if I’m considering a flyweight who is a murderous puncher in his division, I will assume he’d be a murderous puncher in every division, punching proportionally as hard at heavyweight as he did at flyweight.
I will value activity and quality of opposition over inactivity and lighter opposition. That said, I will not arbitrarily remove a fighter from my Top 10 if there is a logical and rational reason why he hasn’t fought. But I will not vote for someone who has been inactive for a lengthy period for no apparent reason. Fighters who are under doping suspensions will not be included.

Ravalo confirmed last week plans to legal action after Pulev kissed her on the mouth during an interview after his recent fight. Pulev’s initial statement claimed he was friends with Ravalo and there was no issue between them, but the boxing reporter then held a press conference with her lawyer where she alleged the Bulgarian continued to harass her when she attended an after-party.
Klitschjo had Joshua down in the fight and in serious trouble, but the British star rallied down the stretch to put away the veteran in the eleventh round.
A rematch was initially set for the fall of the same year, but then Klitschko announced his retirement.

“It will be his decision. If it makes sense, and he’s been posting videos and photos showing the bug is still somewhere in the back of his head. He came so close when he knocked down Anthony Joshua [but] my personal opinion is I’d like to see him and Deontay Wilder .
“Wladimir had such a great championship run and [coach] Emanuel Steward brought in the best sparring partners. He brought both Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder in as a sparring partners and now they are both champions. But I think it would be fireworks as Deontay has big punching power. That would be a tremendous fight. But that’s just my personal opinion. I’ll make that clear as I don’t want to get in trouble with him.”
COSTA MESA (March 23, 2019)— Kubrat Pulev wanted to send a resounding message to the big names of the heavyweight division, and he did so by scoring an emphatic knockout victory in front of a sold-out crowd at The Hangar.
After recovering from a flurry of punches that caused a dangerous cut on his left eyebrow in the fourth episode, the Bulgarian contender blasted Bogdan Dinu by technical knockout at 2:40 of the seventh round.
"This is just part of being in a fight. The cut was not such a big problem. Sometimes blood makes me very hungry", said Pulev. "I was very well prepared. I was ready for anything. At this moment I feel I can do anything inside the ring. I showed very good boxing skills. I also showed that I have good punching power and a good strategy".
MAGDALENO DOMINATES RAMOS
In his featherweight debut, former world champion Jessie Magdaleno returned to the winning route by scoring a unanimous decision victory over former world titleholder Rico Ramos to capture the WBC USNBC Featherweight title. This was Magdaleno's first fight since losing his WBO super bantamweight world title in April of 2018 against Isaac Dogboe.
"I came back from a long layoff and felt great against a tough opponent and a former world champion", said Magdaleno. "Ramos is a great fighter, he was a former world champion for a reason, but tonight only one of us could come out victorious, and that was me. Now I'm going to sit down with my team, go back to the drawing board, and see what I have to keep working on to become a world champion once again".

In light of the most current boycott and digital outrage, I wanted to take the time to address a couple of issues that I myself have trouble wrapping my mind around. For instance, why would we (as a people) agree to a temporary boycott of Gucci for merely 3 months if what was done caused so much strife? Why wouldn't we agree to a permanent boycott of Gucci as well as all other merchandise that fall under the Kering ownership, such as YSL, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and more? I'll tell you why... it's because in this day, celebrities and failing artist pick and choose the hottest trending topic as a means of seeking
attention and using fake advocacy as their platform when their "talent" no longer benefit them. It's common knowledge that these luxury brands aren't being purchased on a large scale by the Black Communities that you portray you're advocating for, yet you use the emotions of our people that are already suffering with countless issues within their own home-front that you conveniently pay no regard or respect to. The same celebrities stirring the pot over brands that they, without doubt, will continually buy, are the same artists that inject rap lyrics fueled with drugs, murder and sexual promiscuity into the very Black Communities you're pretending to care so much about.
These same celebrities are proud deadbeat fathers and unfaithful husbands using their platforms to rally the troops against luxury brands yet, have been the prime contributors of influencing the destruction of our people by way of their musical content and imagery.
Should we boycott their music and record labels as well or do we learn to communicate and bring solutions to the problems we're facing as a whole?
As a retired, wealthy and successful man that has promoted a Drug & Alcohol Free lifestyle, yes, I am a connoisseur of fine quality and top of the line brands; however, unlike many of these "New Money" celebs, I never forgot where I came from! Decades before @Dapperdan became a designer for Gucci, I supported his work and creativity consistently and never stopped. Not many of you can say that! Most of you took your money into the same high end boutiques and didn't think twice about leaving our Brother and Legendary Designer behind until Gucci put their stamp back on him and that's where your hypocritical outrage should be.
Bottom line... If you know better, do better! Start with your own homes and the content that you mass-produce and sell to your very own. Take a look at how you're representing your people first before asking someone else to do so!

When Abner Mares pulled out of his fight against Gervonta Davis last week, citing an elbow injury, the response was critical. Social media trolls and even Davis himself accused Mares of lying about the injury, so Mares decided to set the record straight on FOX’s "Inside PBC Boxing" on Sunday afternoon (full disclosure: I work as a writer and researcher for the show), revealing it was more serious than anyone knew.
Mares (31-3-1, 15 knockouts) confirmed in the show’s final segment that the elbow injury wasn’t the real reason for pulling out of the fight. Mares actually suffered a detached retina in his right eye, a much more serious and potentially career-threatening injury.

Former four division world champion Adrien Broner is a wanted man in Florida ... again.
Broner failed to show up in Broward County court once again on Wednesday ... and the judge issued a warrant for his arrest immediately afterward.
Remember, this is not the first time where Broner has had this problem. He's been arrested twice already for this same issue -- including just last month -- all stemming from a December 2017 speeding incident.

Broner was seen in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and he went to the Lakers game on Thursday night.
Cops arrested the 29-year-old for having no driver's license, speeding, no registration or proof of insurance on Dec. 7, 2017 ... but nobody's been able to get him to show in court since.
If/when he ever appears for the traffic offense, the judge may throw the book at him for blowing off the case so many times in the past year.
This is one of several legal cases Broner is tackling at the moment.
Broner was arrested back in February in Atlanta for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at a local shopping mall. A woman told cops that Broner allegedly groped her against her will.
Just 4 months later, Broner was arrested again in Cleveland for allegedly throwing himself on top of a woman at a nightclub and forcing her to kiss him. He's facing multiple felony counts including gross sexual imposition and abduction.
Both of those cases had court dates this month.
Broner was in the ring last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and lost a twelve round unanimous decision to WBA "regular" welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
Broner at the press conference says he truly believes he won the fight and now it's time to "have sex and cash checks."

Deontay Wilder has claimed his fear of his own power stopped him from securing a knockout win against Tyson Fury.
The American managed to retain his WBC strap against Fury in a controversial draw at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on December 2.
Many believed Fury, despite being knocked down twice, had done enough to get the victory.
And the pair are now looking at scheduling a rematch for next year.
But the reigning WBC champ claimed he was too “anxious” and that’s what prevented a stoppage victory.
“In that fight with Fury it was crazy, I couldn’t straighten my right arm out,” Wilder said on the Joe Rogan podcast.
“I feel like something was stopping me from really just throwing it straight and to the end for some reason.
“I was very anxious of knocking him out — I couldn’t straighten it [his right arm] out.”
Revealing how his team were urging him to let loose.

“I kept going back to my corner, ‘Why you can’t throw the right hand — it’s right there’,” he added.
“He’d (Fury) be right there and I was still over loop my punches, I’ll telegraph it, it felt like something was stopping me.
“I understand it now, I understand everything.”
The 33-year-old then opened up on some of the horror injuries he has inflicted on his opponents — even stating that he feared he had “killed” one opponent.
“I’ve always like said, ‘damn you got all this power, me being the person with it, I’ve felt many of the times — I’ve felt dangerous,” Wilder added.
“I’ve felt like at times it can be too much power, I get scared of myself at times.
“Because I know I’ve got the potential to hurt someone — seriously.
“Just looking back at some of the guys I’ve knocked out and seeing the reactions, I’ve broke guys arms, I’ve broke the eye sockets, I’ve put them in seizures, almost killed (Artur) Szpilka in New York, he laid there for a while.
“I didn’t even see him (Szpilka) breathing, it’s been amazing to have so much power, but still trying to understand it as well.”

With discussions ongoing for a proposed rematch between Fury and Wilder, the American has said he will gain two stone if he meets the Gypsy King again.
Wilder, 33, scaled in at 212.5lbs against Fury, as he was outweighed by 44 pounds by the Gypsy King, who came in at 256.5lbs.
He said: “We gonna adjust the weight.
“We gonna do a lot of things. Especially with the weight. Because these guys have outweighed me the majority of my career.
“My goal was always to be 245, that’s what my goal has always been. But somebody’s gonna get hurt.
“If weight brings big man power, and I already had the power and the speed, somebody gonna get hurt.
“So if people wanna see me put on weight and someone get hurt, then so be it.”
Wilder: Mayweather's A Hater; Don’t Want Anyone To Shine But Him

NEW YORK – While breaking down the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury fight during Showtime’s telecast Saturday night, Floyd Mayweather Jr. made sure to tell Jim Gray that he loves Wilder.
The feeling definitely isn’t mutual.
Wilder deemed Mayweather “a hater” while watching a replay of his controversial split draw with Fury on Thursday with a small group of reporters at a Manhattan restaurant. The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion commented on Mayweather’s criticism of his performance when Mayweather was shown on the screen, criticizing Wilder’s performance as Gray interviewed him.

Among other things, Mayweather told Gray he had England’s Fury in front 5-0 through five rounds. Wilder won the fourth round on the scorecards of each of the three judges, only one of whom scored their 12-round fight for the Tuscaloosa, Alabama, native.
“He is a hater,” Wilder said. “He don’t want nobody else to have no shine but him. It’s a shame because he’s 40-something years old. I mean, get married, man. Settle down. It’s sad. And these is the champions, the former champions, and then downing the champions – this is what makes the sport bad. Because they’re downing fighters. They down ‘em.”
When asked what type of relationship he has with Mayweather, Wilder revealed he has “never” had a private conversation with the 41-year-old, five-division champion.
“I have no relationship with him,” Wilder said. “This ain’t the first time. I mean, he bet against me on [Bermane] Stiverne [in January 2015]. He bet against me right here.”
The 33-year-old Wilder seemed more disappointed than angry regarding Mayweather’s reluctance to encourage him and help him with his technical flaws. He has noticed, however, that Mayweather interacts with other younger champions similarly.
“Look at all his fighters,” Wilder said, referring to Mayweather’s promotional company. “Everybody that’s trying to come, he brings ‘em down. Anybody that got any shine, that seems like he could be the next star, look what happens to them. Look at Gervonta [Davis]. I mean, we sees it. We sees an example. Look with Adrien [Broner]. ‘This is the next Floyd Mayweather.’
“You think he wanted to see Adrien make it to the top like that? They was comparing [Broner] to him, he could be the next great thing. Nobody wants to be forgotten, but I always say if you’ve done it right in your career the first time, you done it right, you’ll never be forgotten. But we always are remembered by the last thing we did. We could do 99 great things, and we do one wrong thing, people will always remember that right there.”
Wilder would do things differently than the retired Mayweather if he were boxing’s biggest star.
“I don’t understand, we have great champions like him, like Mike [Tyson] and stuff like that, that – build us up,” Wilder said. “Talk to us. If you’ve got something to say, hey, pull us to the side, privately. They don’t even take the time out to call. ‘Hey man, just work on this. Just do this. I think you’re great. You can do this and do that.’ Because they don’t wanna see that greatness and it’s sad. When I get in the position, I’m gonna be the type of guy that motivates these guys, like I do now. I always tell other fighters and I tell my brother, ‘I want you to be better than me. Don’t try to be like me. Be better than me.’
“Because history repeats itself. There can never be a person that just stay in position and just be the man throughout the time in history. It’s never gonna happen. And my idol is Muhammad Ali, you know? Even Muhammad Ali lost in the ring. For me, it’s not so much what he did inside the ring, it’s what he did outside of the ring. Very outspoken, loved his people, spoke out. You know? But you know, nowadays everybody just wanna be the man and stay the man.”
Mayweather reportedly walked away from the ring disgusted Saturday night at Staples Center, once Showtime’s Jimmy Lennon Jr. announced the split draw.
“Deontay Wilder, he’s depending just on one shot,” Mayweather told Gray from his ringside seat following the fifth round. “He’s looking for just one, big shot. And as a fighter, you have to use other weapons. Fury’s using combinations and a very, very fast jab, and taking his time. So I think if Deontay Wilder don’t do something else, it looks like Fury’s gonna win, if it goes the distance.”
Mayweather added that his score was, “5-0 so far. Deontay Wilder, a hell of a fighter. You know, I love Deontay Wilder. Fury is a very unorthodox boxer. A good matchup.”
When Gray asked if he was surprised by what he had witnessed to that point, Mayweather replied, “Anything can happen in boxing, so I’m not surprised.”

Vasyl Lomachenko (Ukrainian: Василь Анатолійович Ломаченко, IPA: [βɐˈsɪlʲ lomɐˈtʃɛnko]; also Vasily or Vasiliy; born 17 February 1988) is a Ukrainian professional boxer.[2] He has held the WBA (Super) and Ring magazine lightweight titles since May 2018, and previously the WBO featherweight and junior lightweight titles between 2014 and 2018.
Lomachenko holds several all-time records for winning major world championships in the fewest number of professional fights:[3] he won a world title in his third fight (tied with Saensak Muangsurin), became a two-weight champion in his seventh fight, and a three-weight champion in his twelfth fight.
He is known for his exceptional hand speed, timing, accuracy, creativity, athleticism, and footwork. Lomachenko is also one of the most successful amateur boxers of all time, possessing a record of 396 wins and 1 loss, with his only loss avenged twice.[4] Competing in the featherweight and lightweight divisions, he won a silver medal at the 2007 World Championships, gold at the 2008 European Championships, consecutive gold at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, and consecutive gold at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships.
As of September 2018, Lomachenko is ranked as the world's best active boxer, pound for pound, by ESPN;[5] the Boxing Writers Association of America;[6] the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board;[7] and The Ring;[8] and fourth by BoxRec.[9] He is also ranked by all of them as the world's best active super featherweight.[10][11][9][12] The Ring named Lomachenko as their Prospect of the Year in 2013; CBS Sports named him Boxer of the Year in 2016; HBO Sports named him Boxer of the Year in 2016 and in 2017;[13][14] the Boxing Writers Association of America and The Ring named him Fighter of the Year in 2017.[15]

Fox had already announced its first show for Dec. 22 featuring the Charlo brothers at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Jermell Charlo will face Tony Harrison in the co-main event; Jermall Charlo will face Willie Monroe Jr. in the main event. Heavyweight Dominic Breazeale will kick off the broadcast against Carlos Negron.
Kicking things off in 2019 will be super middleweight titlist Jose Uzcategui against Caleb Plant on Jan. 13 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
On Jan. 26 at Barclays Center, Keith Thurman will return to the ring after a lengthy layoff against Josesito Lopez on Fox. Adam Kownacki faces off Gerald Washington in a heavyweight co-feature.
Leo Santa Cruz will face Miguel Flores on Feb. 16 on Fox at a site to be determined in Los Angeles. An intriguing bout between Omar Figueroa and John Molina will open the card.
On Feb. 23, Anthony Dirrell and Avni Yildirim will square off for the vacant WBC title at 168 pounds. The belt was left vacant by the suspension of David Benavidez. That bout is headed to FS1.
Shawn Porter will make the first defense of his newly won WBC welterweight title against Yordenis Ugas on March 9 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. That fight will be televised on Fox.
In the NFL offseason, Sunday, March 24, will be reserved for boxing. Former titleholder Lamont Peterson will face Sergey Lipinets in a crossroads bout on FS1 in Oxon Hill, Md.
Peter Quillin and Caleb Truax will meet in a 160-pound super middleweight bout on April 13 on FS1. The bout will take place on Truax's home turf in Minneapolis.
Danny Garcia will return to the ring on April 20 following a close loss of his title to Shawn Porter. He will face Adrian Granados at a site to be determined; Fox will televise the bout. Granados wasn't able to make Tuesday's event because he was sick, but Fox rolled footage of a video he sent in talking trash to Garcia. Garcia responded by saying Granados should stay in bed; otherwise, Garcia will send him back there.

What I was originally informed of by Brent Johnson of "One Entertainment" was that this was to be an exhibition put on for a small group of wealthy spectators for a very large fee. This exhibition was previously arranged as a "Special Bout" purely for entertainment purposes with no intentions of being represented as an official fight card nor televised worldwide. Once I arrived to the press conference, my team and I were completely derailed by the new direction this event was going and we should have put a stop to it immediately. I want to sincerely apologize to my fans for the very misleading information that was announced during this press conference and I can assure you that I too was completely blindsided by the arrangements that were being made without my consent nor approval. For the sake of the several fans and attendees that flew in from all parts of the world to attend this past press conference, I was hesitant to create a huge disturbance by combating what was being said and for that I am truly sorry. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has made his New Year's Eve plans official.
Mayweather will exit retirement once again and fight 20-year-old Japanese kickboxing phenom Tenshin Nasukawa on Dec. 31 at the 37,000-seat Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, about a half-hour drive outside of Tokyo.
Mayweather and Nasukawa appeared at a news conference in Tokyo on Monday (Sunday night United States time) that was streamed worldwide on YouTube to announce the fight with officials from the Rizin Fighting Federation, a Japanese promotional company founded in 2015 that puts on MMA and kickboxing events.
Although the fight was announced, several key details were not, including the specific rules of the bout, the number of rounds, the weight limit, how the fight broadcast would be distributed and what type of gloves they would wear. Earlier in the day, Mayweather posted a photo of himself on social media wearing Rizin MMA gloves.
Before the announcement, Mayweather posted a photo on Instagram of himself wearing Rizin gloves with the caption "December 31st 2018 #Tokyo."

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 20, 2018) — Rob Brant came into the ring a heavy underdog. He left it a champion. Brant, from St. Paul, Minn., toppled Ryota Murata by unanimous decision to win the WBA middleweight title in front of 2,782 fans at the MGM’s Park Theater in Las Vegas.
Brant threw an astounding 1,262 punches, landing 356. Murata, meanwhile, landed 180 of 774 punches.
It was the second title defense for Murata (14-2, 11 KOs), a 2012 Olympic gold medalist for his native Japan. Brant (24-1, 16 KOs) remains unbeaten when fighting as a middleweight.
"This is one of the best moments of my life," Brant said. "I wasn't thinking about punch output. I was thinking about winning,
“This was a great middleweight championship fight,” said Top Rank CEO Bob Arum. “Both fighters showed tremendous heart. Congratulations to the new champion. He deserved the win.”
Dadashev Survives DeMarco
Maxim “Mad Max” Dadashev had never seen anything like Antonio DeMarco before. A former lightweight world champion, DeMarco stunned Dadashev on multiple occasions, but Dadashev had enough left in the tank, closing strong down the stretch to win a unanimous decision (96-94, 97-93, 98-92) and retain his NABF super lightweight title.
Dadashev (12-0, 10 KOs) swept the last three rounds on all three judges scorecards to secure the win against DeMarco (33-7-1, 24 KOs), who saw his two-fight winning streak come to an end.
“This was a great learning experience for me,” Dadashev said. “DeMarco is a true champion, and he fought with great heart and determination.”
Conlan Scores TKO in Vegas Debut
Michael “Mick” Conlan’s Las Vegas debut went according to plan. The two-time Olympian from Belfast, Ireland, broke down Nicola Cipolletta and knocked him out with an accumulation of blows in the seventh round.
Conlan (9-0, 6 KOs) pushed the pace against the defensive-minded Cipolletta (14-7-2, 4 KOs), who was making his American debut. Cipolletta, who was content to back up for much of the fight, succumbed from Conlan's vicious body attach.
“When you fight a guy who is negative and trying to survive, those guys are the hardest guys to look good against,” Conlan said. “He was just negative. Now, I want real opponents. I want top 10, top 15 opponents. These are the guys who are going to make me look good. These are the guys who are going to bring out the best of my technical ability. When you see guys trying to survive, it’s a lot easier to survive than fight it out.”
Conlan is scheduled to close out his 2018 campaign on Dec. 22 in Manchester, England.

Tekashi69 was kidnapped, pistol whipped and robbed and is now in the hospital ... TMZ has learned.
Sources close to Tekashi tell us, the rapper was working on a music video in Brooklyn early Sunday morning and at around 4AM he wrapped for the night and drove home. We're told when he got there another car pulled up and blocked his driveway.
Our sources say that's when 3 hooded gunmen got out of the other car, grabbed Tekashi and pistol whipped him ... knocking him unconscious.
We're told the next thing Tekashi knew, he was in the back seat of the car as the gunmen were driving around, telling him if they didn't get what they wanted from him -- jewelry and money -- they would kill him.
Our sources say a short time later, the gunmen pulled up to Tekashi's home and 2 of them made their way inside as the third guarded 69 inside the vehicle.
We're told the gunmen took around $750k in jewelry and between $15k and $20k in cash. While all this was happening, Tekashi's baby mama and daughter were inside the house but not hurt.
That wasn't the end of it. We're told the gunmen then drove away with Tekashi still in the back seat. At some point 69 was able to open the back door and jumped out. One of the gunmen began chasing him but got scared and retreated because he was afraid he'd be ID'd.
Our sources say Tekashi jumped in the passenger seat of a stranger's vehicle and pleaded for help. The stranger called 911 and then asked 69 to get out of the car at an intersection.
An ambulance came and Tekashi was taken to a hospital, where he remains. Doctors are performing various tests, including a CT scan.
