If I were a website, introversion.com would be me. If I were a podcast, well… you’re listening to it right now.
Bold, irreverent, and chock-full of special sauce... the Introversion podcast is an introverted designer's perspective on the human experience. Creativity, relationships, aspirations, fears, priorities, non-sequiturs, psychology, philosophy, lifestyle, tech, health, education, art, pop culture, society, politics, religion, the sun, and everything under the sun... let's get into it.
Happy new year?! Okay it's perhaps a little too late for that, but oh well... it's been a happy new year for me thus far, and I hope for you as well.
Today I am finally back with the Introversion podcast, although kind of putting this baby to rest... as I share my realization as to what this podcast IS... and ISN'T. As much as I may have had some lofty aspirations for it in the past, I've realized that this podcast, at the end of the day, is really just for me... a place to vent, to pontificate, to get ideas out of my head and out there into the ether, where I can reflect on experiences and explore ideas, etc. I've realized that there really is no "target audience" for this podcast, hence... it only makes sense that this would never explode / go viral, etc... doing long form rambling about what's on my mind while living amongst a Tik Tok generation of 10-second attention spans. Yeah... this was never really gonna "work". Although, depends how you define "work". If it's worked for me (and me alone), well... that's something at least. It helped me retain some level of sanity throughout 2020, but hey... we're well beyond that point now. It's 2023. I need to let go and move on... and this is what today's episode is all about.
For any of you who have read this far and care about this podcast, I hope you've enjoyed it on some level this past 3 years, but alas... this will now be a total sideshow for me... just a place where I can occasionally post some thoughts about life, society, etc... but I cannot afford to put more time into this, when there are OTHER things I really should be prioritizing. Speaking of which...
As I've started 2023, I've decided to focus 100% on my Jay Kaslo personal brand, which is going to be 100% about CREATIVITY and PRODUCTIVITY. Those are my deep passions in life (above most all of my other passions), and I want to see what happens when I devote myself FULLY to ONE thing... as opposed to spreading myself out so thin across Introversion, Confusianity, Popkatsu, Palpatini, Yeah Pretty Much, Embiggen, FMAO, and all the other brands I've started and tried to maintain over the years. So yeah, I'm optimistic... let's see what happens. I hope you'll join me in this new, focused journey... head over and subscribe to my Jay Kaslo YouTube channel here... https://youtube.com/@jaykaslo
Once I get going, I will be posting weekly videos... tutorials, reviews, tips & tricks, inspo, essays... all about enhancing & enjoying your life via creativity & productivity. Hope to see you over there... Yours truly, Jay Kaslo

My final guest interview of 2022... of course had to be my boy Tommy Danger. Listen in as we discuss how we conceived FMAO (For Mature Audiences Only) and then aborted it a few months later. Was a fun ride, lessons learned, but as they say... fail fast. That being said, perhaps we'll resurrect it some day when we're old and gray, when time & money no longer matter... and we can just b*tch and moan to our grumpy hearts' content.

A lot has transpired in Irina's life since last we spoke on the Introversion podcast a year+ ago. Today she gives us an update...

I've been infected by World Cup Fever this past couple weeks... hence I've fallen behind on pretty much EVERY aspect of my life. Been enjoying the games, but... with my black pill heart, it's not like the good old days.

Today I continue the new BLACK PILL series (in MUCH greater depth than in Part 1). Moving right along... I explain the progression from blue pill to red pill... and the subsequent black pill malaise that often results.
Ultimately I intend to make the case for why being black-pilled is actually not all that bad... essentially making the best of the worst case scenario that is modern society.

LOVE IS BLIND (SEASON 3) is a wrap! So now I can go full throttle on the show I love to hate (and I hate myself for loving). So bad, it's... actually good?
Was I actually rooting for any couple this season? Who will emerge as my most despised person? Who did the women all gang up on as "the bad guy" this time around? Whose side(s) did I take? What are the grand takeaways from the show, as we reflect on our own lives and the current sad state of (love) affairs in 2022? Let's get into all that, and more... here we go!

Today I kick off a new series... all about the BLACK PILL. In a world gone wrong, what are you to do about it? Is it possible to "unplug" from a corrupt, broken world and yet actually be "happy"? Just a short starter episode today, let's get this exploration off and running.

I may have underestimated the power & significance of introversion (being introverted), as well as underestimated the lack of knowledge that extroverts have about us introverts. Now that I've been "going out" a lot more this past few weeks, it's dawning on me just how very super introverted I (still) am, despite having developed all my social skills and confidence and "I don't give a f*ck" attitude this past few years.
It's not just that I want time to myself, it's that I fundamentally need time to myself. I reckon this is the case for most all introverts, and it's something extroverts need to understand & respect.

Sucks to be ghosted... especially by a BFF. How do you (best) carry on when you've invested so much of yourself in a person, or two, or three, and then all the sudden they're no longer in your life?
Although it may have worked for a time, I'm starting to realize that spreading my metaphorical water out across many many small cups may not be the best way for me to move forward today. Perhaps it's time to consolidate most or all of my water into one cup. Question is, what should that one cup be?

I finally popped my cherry... performed stand-up comedy at my first ever open mic this past Saturday in NYC! In this episode I share about that experience + talk about the struggle (especially for us introverts) with continually reaching out to people. It's exhausting, and often not rewarding, but what is the alternative... more social isolation and reclusive lifestyles?

Picking up where I left off with "Easy Come, Easy Go"... it's been grey days here in Philadelphia this past week, and yet some positive social developments and a couple things on the horizon (other than women & dating) to give me reason to remain steadfast & disciplined.

Was a rather interesting week as I matched with 3 actually attractive girls on the dating apps. Immediate potential with one of them in particular, but well... you see the title of the episode: "Easy Come, Easy Go". Here's how things went down...
As mentioned in this episode... Human's livestream, talking largely about ditching the dating apps... https://introversion.com/no-wonder-people-avoid-dating/

It is a bold new day (well for Introversion at least), as we enter into Autumn 2022. I have been cranking on a fresh new visual format for the podcast... and today it's on full display. From here on out you'll be able to WATCH these episodes on both YouTube ( https://youtube.com/iamintroversion ) AND on Spotify. Or if you prefer just listening on another podcast platform, well... go right ahead. But I do highly recommend the visual experience (on YouTube and Spotify), as I am putting a lot of love into crafting these video episodes.
*Also, when you next visit introversion.com, you may notice an update to the site's design & features as well. I've streamlined the experience (and especially the refreshed homepage), so it's quicker & easier to access all the many daily entries. In addition to podcast episodes, I will be posting all kinds of content (mostly video) on a near daily basis, so be sure to bookmark the site and check back often.
As for TODAY'S podcast episode... I was at the gym a couple days ago and felt moved by the lyrics of "Silenced" by Marshmello & Khalid, specifically "I'd rather be a lover than a fighter, cuz all my life I've been fighting. Never felt a feeling of comfort, and all this time I've been hiding... and I never had someone to call my own, oh nah I'm so used to sharing. Love only left me alone, but I'm at one with the silence." Brace yourself for some red-pill MGTOW thoughts here, although really... there's nothing misogynist about it at all (in my opinion). As a man, just sharing my thoughts & experiences... are we allowed to do that?
Yeah it's been a minute, but I'm BACK... and with added CLARITY about where I'm taking the Introversion podcast. I'm foreseeing a nice balance of confidence & vulnerability between Introversion and FMAO. And not just with juggling podcasts, but I explore the notions of confidence & vulnerability with regard to dating & relationships... the upsides & downsides of being vulnerable.
Also in this episode... I answer a set of really great questions posed by a YouTube listener. **If YOU would ever like to ask me to address certain topics or if you have any questions you'd like to throw my way, just email me at podcast@introversion.com or reach out on Twitter... I've become a bit more active there lately... https://twitter.com/iamintroversion.
And hey, I've mentioned it before, but will continue to mention it... if you're a fan of Introversion, you'll probably love FMAO, so... go subscribe on YouTube! https://youtube.fmaoshow.com
Yet another experiment of sorts... my first UNSCRIPTED solo video episode. I hit record and started sharing why I was away in June, what I've been up to this past few weeks, the NEW podcast I've started with Tommy Danger called FMAO, and my ever-evolving thoughts about moving forward with the Introversion project.
It's a special one today, the first of its kind... my first solo video episode, shot with my new Sony A7C. I don't even bother with opening pleasantries and chit chat about why I've disappeared this past month, nope... just got straight into it with this scripted episode... short, sweet, and to the point (yes it is officially the shortest Introversion podcast ever, clocking in at under 14 minutes!)... discussing the value (or lack thereof) in honesty and the pursuit of objective Truth. Are we (or at least, am I) better off manufacturing and absorbing a subjective truth that works well for you, regardless of how objectively true it is? Let's discuss...
*Also a first today... it's the first Introversion podcast VIDEO episode available on SPOTIFY!
Something happened earlier this week. Yes, I know a LOT is happening in the world this week (and EVERY week!), but I want to talk about this Facebook altercation I got into Sunday night. With the staggering differences and level of high-octane emotionality in people [on the Left especially], can we even talk any more? Should we even try any more? Are we just destined for a dual society in America... red vs blue, everyone in their own echo chamber silos? I hope not, but... seems like we're headed there faster than ever. Let's talk about it...
Not the episode I was planning on making/posting this week, but what can I say? I had a few drinks last night...
The first of perhaps many impromptu podcast episodes... just jumped on a call with my good friend J.R. and we got to talking... about crime & (post-?) pandemic life in NYC and Philly. Sounds like right about now he'd prefer his NYC subway shootings to my Philly mask mandates.
What indeed is the fate of introversion? Change is definitely afoot. Let's get into it...
EPISODE 59 - DAYLIGHT SAVED! No, this isn't a nearly hour episode talking about daylight savings time. Although, it is a lot about TIME in various ways (allocation of attention & resources, priorities, juggling multiple projects you care about, being realistic about goals and expectations, short-term vs long-term dating, etc.) Listen in...
I've been drowning in client work this past month, but am finally coming up for air. And now, back to podcasting...
I've developed an all-encompassing life system! It's called R.E.A.C.H. P.E.A.K.S. A highly aspirational, yet entirely practical modus operandi for 2022 and beyond...
"Happy new year"? Okay well "happy" is not the word for me, but let's just say... I'm ready to let go of 2021 and move forward into the (potentially blissful?) abyss of 2022. Let's get into it.
An episode I didn't really want to make, but... I felt the need to do so... as I mourn the loss of our family's black Labrador Retriever, Sharpie.
Tommy Danger... back on the Introversion podcast for the THIRD time this year! I just can't get enough, can you? In a futile attempt to keep this one short and sweet, we cut it short... just under 4 hours. If you're easily offended by anything and everything, may want to skip this one, but otherwise... enjoy!
An episode that is neither here nor there... it's a little bit of this, a little bit of that... sort of a bridge between that last (weird) Orlando soliloquy episode and the next few (guest) episodes lined up.
My (disappointing) last night in Orlando. Thoughts after attending (and leaving) the Tom Woods 2000th episode event.
And now for a late Friday night semi-drunk impromptu episode recorded at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
Honestly, how did you feel about Facebook/Instagram going down? Let's get into it... and then some.
This is my loving tribute to the one, the only... Norm Macdonald. Hilarious? Of course... but today I seek to shed a little light on how inspiring Norm was (to me personally) as a genuine creative soul... someone who remained true to his comedic scruples despite many opposing forces throughout his life.
Today I am rejoined by my good friend J.R. for a brief episode where we follow-up on the prior Henrik episode, further expounding on the vaccine passport issue and other aspects of pandemic life... and we also touch on Nicki Minaj and some other tidbits.
Quite an IN-DEPTH episode today... as I am re-joined by former guest Henrik Mattsson (a Swedish economist living in Canada who’s a COO for an American company). Unlike last time, we're not on the same page any more as he is PRO vaccine passports and I am of course AGAINST them. Listen in as we both make our cases, and decide for yourself... whether you think vaccine passports are ultimately a GOOD or BAD thing for the world.
A change of pace today... as I interview Tyler Burgett... a fellow ex-Christian with a nuanced (and ever-evolving) world view and passion for finding common ground with others. Yes, not all atheists are militant!
Tommy Danger is BACK... and this time, with C0v!d! Let's hear his first-hand account of getting C0v!d... how it all went down, and thoughts/reflections in the aftermath.
Also we discuss the various mandates, "my body my choice", relocation plans, and more.
Today let's discuss the GIVE & TAKE selfless/selfish spectrum. Consider your relationships, job, religion, location, hobbies, education and pretty much every aspect of your life... are you putting more into it than you're getting out of it?
Sometimes I wonder what people think about money. And I wonder whether my views on it are anything like what others’ views are on it. I mean obviously there’s a presupposition that we ALL want MORE money, and yet… mo money, mo problems? And this is what I want to get into today… basically how we evaluate money… what it is, and what it means to us. Also... this whole NFT craze... and how it may shape our society moving forward.
Got emotional watching "Before Sunset" late Wednesday night, so decided to do an impromptu recording with thoughts on the film, but also what led me to want to watch it in the first place. Plus reflections on my romantic history and serious doubts about any romantic future.
Yet another ramble sesh that I entered into with no topic or title in mind, so uhh... let's go with RAMBLIN' MAN. Lord I was born this way... tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can.
Wow, it's an Introversion podcast episode ACTUALLY ABOUT INTROVERSION! Yep, listen in as my guest Irina Chan Rich and I discuss all the nuances of the introverted life.
A bit of an experiment this time around... perhaps the first time I've ever recorded/posted an episode without having a title or specific concept for me to focus on. So brace yourself... this one's a pure tangential ramblefest!
Apparently I only have male Korean guests on my podcast in 2021. 🤷🏽♂️ My friend Brian is back for a 3rd time on the Introversion podcast as we recap 2020 and discuss how we've transitioned into 2021.
It's the first solo episode of 2021! Yep, it's been a while. The follow-up to "2020: Hindsight" is finally here... where I discuss my theme for 2021 (INTENTIONALITY) and what's been going on since December 2020. Although a lot of the same societal garbage from 2020 has carried over into 2021, my approach has been refreshingly different than last year... and it's largely rooted in this idea of being INTENTIONAL with every little thing you do. Let's get into it...
What better way to kick off the return of the Introversion podcast than an interview with my good buddy, fellow podcaster, & recurring guest... Tommy Danger. As usual, we hit a lot of topics.
After a month+ hiatus, the Introversion Podcast is back! Before we move on to 2021 (in our next episode), let's take a look back at 2020. Missions accomplished. Lessons learned. Certain friendships bolstered. Other friendships demoted. Reflections reflected. Self-love and self-reliance paramount. Let's get into it.
Election Day turns into Election WEEK. Would you expect any less of 2020? Well... it's all over now. Or is it?
I've been censored. And I am clearly not the only one. Things are getting worse & worse as we approach Election day. What am I / what are we going to do about it?
Today Lydia and I delve into racism, politics, and a little bit about the pandemic as we rapidly approach Election Day. What is the deal with Donald Trump? Is the media biased? (Rhetorical question.) Is there a conciliatory bridge between Left and Right? Will we always be stuck with a two-party system? Is there reason to be optimistic for America’s future? Let’s get into it…
Today I pose some poignant questions… Is the ship going down? And if so, what are you going to do about it?
Today JR and I discuss his trolling, life in NYC, what COVID is and what it isn’t, hijacked liberalism, the new book burnings, the controversy curve, trickle down cancel culture, are things going to get better or worse?, 2020: comedic tragedy, tax write-offs, election & post-election predictions, and so much more.
There’s TOO MUCH happening out there for me to wrap my head around, and also TOO MUCH happening in my own life. Not necessarily all bad things, but just… well… too much of everything. Sorry if I’m all over the place with this episode, but what can I say… this is the state of affairs these days.
Today I am joined by my best friend from college, Karen… yes, AN ACTUAL PERSON NAMED KAREN. We kick things off by talking about the whole “karen” slur and then graduate to discussing cancel culture, solving (nuanced) problems, strategic naming conventions, the scientific and creative process, intellectual arrogance and “expert culture”, the ramifications of lockdown measures, life in California, future plans, and creativity.
In today’s episode, my long lost friend Ryan Dunn and I discuss fear & vulnerability in interacting with other humans, separating art from the artist, meeting & working with celebrities, the disconnect with your previous life after changing your name, the pandemic, civil war?, and the state of affairs in American politics.
It's EPISODE #23, so of course I had to create "The Last Dance" episode that I've been mentioning this past month. A good listen, even if you're not a Michael Jordan fan or into basketball at all. Let's discuss the power of memories, how achieving greatness (or anything) in life requires sacrifice, the pros and cons of being competitive, the interplay between sports & politics, and what makes life worth living.
In 2019 I started listening to the Online Friend Simulator podcast (run by Francis — AKA The Other Guy). Today I’m stoked to share my recent conversation with Francis. We delved into a lot, including social media toxicity, friendship, zoom weddings, politics, podcasting, and love in the time of coronavirus.
In today’s episode, Christina Weber and I delve into the role of Facebook (and social media) in our lives in 2020… and the love/hate relationship between men & women in recent years.
Danger's back, and man did we get into it... a massive, throbbing 4 HOURS. Toxic masculinity at its finest!
Today I discuss systemic racism, police reform, gentrification, redlining, citizenship, and education & economic opportunity with my friend Obi Onyejekwe. ONLY WHITE PEOPLE CAN BE RACIST? Let’s get into it…
Welcome to part 1 of a 38 part series… on friendship, facebook, and social media in general. Okay not 38 parts, but... there'll certainly be more on this subject. Let's kick things off by discussing true friends, friends, acquaintances, frenemies, enemies, and "unfriends".
Today my guest Christian and I discuss politics and racism. We may not agree on much, but I’m all for civil discourse & debate. Just a short episode as we didn’t have much time to record, so consider this Part 1. Part 2 likely to arrive some time in August-September.
In this solo episode, I discuss how I am uniquely qualified to speak on the subject of racism. Perhaps a “controversial” supposition, but… just listen to my story. Views and opinions are of course always debatable, but one’s lived experience is not.
A bit of an experimental episode today… my friend Brian and I used the “Alt Right: Age of Rage” documentary on Netflix as a springboard for our conversation. In the process we ended up discussing Nazi sympathizers in the U.S., education, Oregon’s racist history, #BlackLivesMatter vs #AllLivesMatter, coronavirus policy making, and more.
What happens when you’ve eliminated all the “fun” things from your life that are no longer worth pursuing? What next?
Today I am joined by the one and only Drew Tarvin. A very special Introversion podcast episode where we discuss the intricacies of "humor" vs "comedy", echo chambers, white privilege and systemic racism, police brutality, media bias and data analysis, salary negotiation, and more.
It’s July 4th, 2020… “Independence Day”. What does that mean to you? What does that mean to me? Let's get into it...
Today I am joined by an old friend from my NYC days, Anne Koller. Just a couple of "multi-artisanal" entrepreneurs catching up and discussing the crazy times we live in.
Today I am joined by the one and only Anna Broadway, a writer and editor who visited 41 countries to research singleness in Christian communities. We discuss that project, as well as diversity in churches (or lack thereof), racism, white privilege, & reparations.
Long overdue for a solo episode. Got a lot on my mind... humor, #cancelculture, news sources, Trump derangement syndrome, the Atlanta incident... let’s get into it.
In today’s episode, my “expert” friend Henrik (a Swedish economist living in Canada who’s a COO for an American company) and I discuss #quarantinelife, Covid-shaming, echo chambers, what is “society”?, nuanced solutions for complex problems, Sweden & “socialism” vs “capitalism”, police brutality, extremists vs the silent majority, and more.
In today’s episode, Thom Pulliam and I discuss UnicornTalent.club, the pandemic, protests & riots, reparations, police brutality, the media & freedom of press, apologizing for the sins of others, _____ lives matter, & more.
Let's take a moment to think about what we do with our emotions (not just in the wake of George Floyd's murder, but always)... how we channel them -- healthily or unhealthily, constructively or destructively, both inwardly and outwardly in society.
Of course my first Introversion podcast guest HAD to be my boy Tommy Danger ( @tommydangerfyi ).
Perfectionism has delayed the Introversion podcast from launching sooner and could’ve delayed it indefinitely, but today’s the day I say: JUST START. Imperfect action beats perfect inaction any day.
Welcome to the Introversion podcast -- a bold, playful, observational, experimental, pure & unadulterated take on the human experience. Whether introvert or extrovert, if you’re interested in more deeply understanding our individual and collective motivations, priorities, and desires as we make our way through this crazy thing called life… you've come to the right podcast.
