Today's episode comes from a listener of the podcast. She asked, why is she not victorious as she looks at others' blessings?  There are, unfortunately, many of God’s children who are living defeated lives. They feel have never entered into the experience of the peaceful life, the abundant life from the Lord. The victorious Christian life is the life that is lived, by faith, in a moment-by-moment surrender to God. The victorious Christian life is rooted and grounded in faith. Scripture declares The victorious life is a life of victory over sin,  over self, and over Satan. They are“reconciled to God by the death of His Son”, but a life that is also “saved through His life” (Romans 5: 10).

Enjoy the Black History Fact at the beginning of this podcast. The topic for today is patience in the process. Patiecne is only developed as we are willing to go through the process before us. We all have burdens and cares, but we must learn to go to God and ask Him for guidance. That we must be willing to confess our impatience and shortcomings to Him. Learning that patience is a process, but when we com through what a testimony we have ourselves and others.

Many people beat themselves up about how much they have not invested in their future. Wishing they had a nest-egg. I believe the best thing we can have in looking forwards the future financial planning is having the right attitude. When I say the right attitude I mean in how we spend our financial resources. If we are not where we want to be financially for our future it is not too late to work on it. Today's show addressing three areas. (1) Living below our means, (2) how we subsidize the lives of others, and (3) consider downsizing/paying off that mortgage.

Today Strong Faith comes from thought on Hebrews 11 in the Bible, a powerful chapter. There are examples shown to us on how we can, and should, have faith in God. Faith is believing in what is true. Faith has two elements: 1) being convinced of the truth, being certain of reality, having evidence of unseen things, and 2) believing, hoping in, embracing, seizing the truth. While we cannot see God, we can have faith in Him because of the proof that He has given to us through history, science, nature and His Word. We cannot please God without faith. Faith is a work of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. It is important to see that our faith produces the action and not the other way around. We don’t earn our faith because of good actions; right actions are a result of proper faith.

Social media sites have also grown in numbers by leaps and bounds. In 2014 there were approximately 2 billion users used social networking sites and apps. With the increased use of mobile devices, this number exceeded 2.6 billion marks by 2018 and is steadily increasing. If we go to the Internet there are more than 66 Social Networking Sites. To name a few: Youtube, LinkedIn, Skype, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest and so many more. Daily millions of people stay connected, get a sense of friendship, learn about what others are doing, and draw their strength from them. For many, there are no people in your personal space, no F2F, no hugs, no handshake. All fo this social media has a place, but should not pull us away from our connection with Jesus, the vine. He said " I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him,

the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) He is the true vine, the source of our covenant relationship with God. He is the link by which we are able to stay connected to God and each other. In the words of the old gospel hymn, he is the tie that binds our hearts together in Christian love.

Today's podcast is based on a question from our listeners.  What does the phrase "Doing all things decently and orderly" really mean.  Paul knew that some were zealous to use the gifts and that they would create unnecessary friction and problems if not used Biblically. Paul reminded them that God was not the author of confusion, but of peace within the body of Christ (or local church setting). Wherever believers gathered to share God's truth, fellowship, and worship. Paul was talking about how the gifts that God endowed believers would be used in these settings.

On today's show Dr. West shares on the significance of working. That we need to learn how to stand firm in what God has called us to do for this kingdom building and helping others. That there will be times when we become tired, frustrated when the process does not seem to be working as we would like. However, we must stay true to our craft, our profession, our work, or sharing, or giving to work the process. If we stay in the race the outcomes will be favorable.

As we go through life there will be times when we feel that we will falter. Times when we have unhealthy attitudes, toxic habits and even sin abounds. We are daily exposed to much spiritual contamination.  In these moments, if not careful, we can easily become depressed, have anxiety, be angry, become bitter or discouraged, and so much more.  We have to learn how to support and strengthen ourselves during these times. Through all of all this, we can be like David, in the bible, and learn how to encourage ourselves and be strengthened in the Lord. David's life shows us the ability to strengthen and minister to ourselves is a vital skill that we must learn if we are going to develop the character to fulfill our potential in what God has called us to do.

We welcome this week to the podcast Ann Lindholm. Here book is "Love to Reconcile." She shares on revealing the heart of the Father to His children. Shares on how each person can receive forgiveness from God. Also, how our personal relationship can be healed through reconciliation. Throughout her life, she has been challenged and shares with the reader what victory through reconciliation looks like. She believes that a person has a strained relationship with someone this book will benefit them greatly.

Ann wants to share a bit about herself with you. She is the wife of a former US Army Ranger (Her hero) and mother of four children and one son-in-law. She homeschools her three younger children and is a full-time homemaker and a very part-time companion sitter for hospice. Ann also walks in inner healing and deliverance ministry with other ladies and couples. She created a ministry called Damascus Report, where she shares bible lessons and ministry for the broken. She is a devout follower of Jesus Christ and attempts to be led by the Spirit in all that she does. Although she has not arrived, she has learned a great deal through personal life experiences. Ann became an unwed mother at age nineteen. She has experienced some personal trauma in her life that she has had to overcome emotionally and spiritually. She raised her children for twelve years while her husband was deployed or away at training much of the time, faithfully serving our great nation. She grew up Roman Catholic but gave her life completely to Christ at the age of twenty-one. Her salvation experience was dramatic and life-changing. It is from these experiences and her personal relationship and growth with the Lord that she passionately writes and yearns to share the love of Jesus with whoever will listen.

The person may experience all kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions, from shock or anger to disbelief, guilt, and profound sadness. As a leader how do you model joy? Sometimes it can be difficult to find joy in your work when you feel like things are in disarray. There are times when you may feel that you are not being heard by those you lead. As a leader when aligned with Jesus Christ there is an expectation that we will be able to walk forward daily in His joy and be an example that others would willingly follow. Leaders should choose to rejoice because they are in the presence of the Lord. Leaders should consider it a privilege that they have been allowed to lead others. To be part of God's creative work. Learning how to be filled with the Lord's joy satisfies the soul. Leaders need to choose to model joy.

This week we start the new season of Living Holistically Well with Dr. Annette speaking on the topic of 'Do Not Be Listless, Keep Track of Things.' Having a solid routine will create and foster a groove for an energized mind. As our lives become busier and busier, we must be willing to stop and write it down. This will help us to not miss anything that we need to do.  We can look back to the Old Testament with the 10 Commandments, a list of moral obligations for life. We can look in the New Testament to Jesus example of a list with The Beatitudes, a list of 9 attitudes that characterize kingdom citizens. When we are able to inventory our ways, write our thoughts down, itemize our daily and or weekly taskings and then evaluate our priorities we will be more successful each day.   Just know "if we fail to plan, then we plan to fail."

We go through many things, but one thing that can impact our hearts is rejection.  God made each of us with the innate desire to be loved and accepted just as we are.  Regardless of the age rejection can create significant issues for us, mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  We can overcome rejection that simmers at the core of our being. The first step is to know that the words, thoughts and actions of others does not define you.  God defined you before you were born, with a predestined plan for your life. Through it all, He will never leave nor forsake you and you can live in the fullness that He designed when you learn to seek Him for right direction in your life.

The Lord wants us to work hard and do our best, but not at the expense of burnout. Today we look at our daily tasks and ask ourselves are we overdoing it? Are we trying to do our work and others? Are we willing to delegate to others? We are each assigned task, but we will find little if any joy in doing what others are assigned to do. Moses in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New Testament left models for us to follow. If we heed scripture it will help us to flow as God designed.

This week I am speaking from the topic of Knowing Your Spiritual Gifts. This question came from one of the listeners.  When we are in Christ Jesus, we receive at least one gift that is to be used in building up the kingdom of God. When we become Christians the innate talents we have are repurposed in alignment with our gift(s). As we walk with the Lord, the Holy Spirit guides us as to how to use the gift(s). Most importantly after learning one's gift(s) is to use them to serve others and fulfill God's purposes. To edify and build up the kingdom of God. When we use our gifts effectively we: (1) give the church power for the preached word to come forth to the world. (2) equip the church for building up the body of Christ.

This week Dr. Annette West speaks on the importance of taking time to develop better habits. Realizing that there is no fountain of youth, no great secrets to getting healthy. That if we desire to have vitality we have to put in the right energy. Having a strong mind, strengthened body and spiritual relationship is based on what we are willing to put forth each day. We must (1) realize the importance of daily exercise, (2) develop and maintain a healthy, clean diet, (3) getting the needed 7-9 hours rest/sleep each night, (4) eliminating undue stress and (5) daily engagement with the Lord. If we want to have a life that is lived-well, we must be willing to put focus on what we think, what we take into our bodies and the relationship we build daily with the Lord. This will bring the balance for holistic wellness for us.

The stigma towards mental illness often causes people to feel isolated, stereotyped, shameful, or discriminated against, all of which can hinder recovery. By talking openly and showing there is more to someone than their mental illness, people can see that no one has to be defined by that alone.   For those who are not affected by mental illness firsthand, the conversation about mental illness can help inform them about risk factors, symptoms, treatment, and prevention methods, which will allow them to then help the people around them. This can make for a society that is more informed and accepting about mental illness.

If we don't follow His lead we will extend the duration or distress in our trial.  We need the Lord to infuse our attitude with His focus.
