Hi, gang! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
Yeah, I know, it’s the day _after Christmas. No excuses, no lies. I am late with this.
In this issue, we’re proud to present our first recorded adventure using Hobomancer, a game from the amazing folks at Hex Games which I hold very close to my heart. I just love everything about this game—the setting, the different tones the game can take (Many times within the same story!), the quirky characters, the pulpy premise … and of course, the use of QAGS!
But lest my fingers keep babbling, I urge you to click the above link…
…and enjoy!

Hi, gang!
I realize this Halloween one-shot is a couple days late, but only one of those days is my fault. The rest has to do with technical issues that needed to be resolved before the podcast could be uploaded. But rest assured, everything’s up and on course again, as is no doubt ob virus by the fact that you’re now reading this.
A quick word: one of those technical issues which wasn’t[t resolved to my liking but which is unfortunately stuck in its current form is the trailer at the beginning of this issue. I’m not sure why, but upon saving the finished podcast, the trailer—and so far as I can tell, only the trailer!—turned into a loud, obnoxiously distorted mess. I tried to fix it, but in doing so, I accidentally saved the trailer file in its distorted form, so what’cha get is what we got. As proud of the trailer as I am, feel free to skip it. Your ears will thank you. Thankfully, the game itself appears to be at a decent volume level. Sorry about this, folks.
As I said, this issue is our Halloween one-shot. We’re playing The Monsters Are Our Heroes, a nifty little game brought to you by Bloat Games. I don’t know if “pulpy” is the tone Eric Bloat had in mind when he concocted this game about heroic characters based on the Universal classic monsters, but what can I say? If there’s one thing I’m reasonably sure of when it comes to identifying my GMing style, it’s that almost everything I touch turns to pulp. And I, for one, am totally okay with that!
So go forth, click that above link…
…and enjoy!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!

Hey, ev’rybody! WE’RE BAAAA-AAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole hiatus was unintentional. To make up for it, these next few issues will be bare-bones, in order to get them posted to you as quickly as possible. Thanks so much for sticking around through this unexpected absence.
As promised long ago, this issue brings to a close our Star Wars: Rebel Breakout run-through, from 2018.
I have a whole lotta love for this particular version of the original Star Wars Roleplaying Game—the true _original version. Not only do I love it for the simplicity of its system, which I think got more bloated and unnecessarily complex with each edition, but also the simplicity of the setting at the time. Don’t get me wrong; I love the Star Wars of today. It’s just that as more material is produced, there are fewer and fewer gaps to fill, and mysteries to address. This isn’t unique to Star Wars; any large franchise encounters this problem sooner or later. I just love how this game takes Star Wars back to its roots, since … well … that’s all there was at the time. I bring this up because I hold this First Edition close to my heart, and I don’t feel I did it justice as a GM during these sessions, particularly this one. It’s obvious I didn’t do a thorough read-through of the rules before we started, and this led to misunderstandings of initiative rules (or the lack thereof), and how to handle certain situations involving Force Points, etc. Sorry, Josh. I should’ve had you ignore that Stun result, or given you back the Force Point. Chris, I’m pretty sure there’s something we could’ve done to regain your character’s consciousness—even if I had to make it up. “Rulings, not rules”, and all that. My goal for revisiting this blast from the past was to encourage a rediscovery of the joy this game can provide; although we had fun, I feel like the Force just wasn’t with me. Still, there’s much to enjoy here, and I hope you do just that. And maybe someday, I’ll revisit this game with my (if I may say so myself) improved skills as a GM, and give it the cinematic celebration it so richly deserves.
Enjoy!
Hi, everybody!
Welcome to another Monkey Monday, whereupon you can expect an all-new issue of Monkeys Took My Jetpack! (Of course it’s all-new. We rarely do clip shows here!)
In this issue, we bring you the fourth session of our “Troubleshooters” game, as Directed by our own Xofour! (Yeah, I know, it’s almost time for our NEXT holiday season, but if it’s any consolation, the date of this session was February 16, 2023, so even in live-play, we were way past our holiday goal! It’s just how the bananas fall from the bushel sometimes.)
At any rate, enjoy the issue! As the title indicates, we had quite a ball!
Hiya, folks. Time kinda-sorta got away from me, and for that, I apologize. I knew it had been a while [&hellip
Ho ho ho! What, out of season, you say? Nonsense! It’s my podcast, and I am a Christmas junkie!!! Besides, [&hellip
Hello there!
Okay, I didn’t get this out _on Star Wars Day, but I did get it out by Revenge of the Sixth. So I suppose that works almost as well.
This issue brings you a Jetpack Flashback, wherein Josh, Moondog, Trilobite and I sat down over Skype—yes, remember Skype?—to play the original West End Games classic, Star Wars: The Role-playing Game! This game holds an extremely special place in my heart, along with the Ghostbusters game which came before it. These two games are what I cut my Going teeth on. I had hoped this first adventure would turn into a long-running Star Wars campaign of some sort, but sadly, that just wasn’t to be. Still, I’m always up for the task. Any excuse to play Star Wars D6, as it’s come to be called, and I’m _so there! As a player, or a GM—the Force is definitely strong with this one!
Enjoy!
We’ll get back on a consistent schedule soon, folks, I swear we will. At any rate, we’re back now, with our next session of Troubleshooters, wherein the plot begins to thicken. I’d say ore, but truthfully, the more time I spend writing this, the longer it’ll be before you can actually listen to this issue—so enough from me!

Hey, gang!
Don’t ever think we’ve pod-faded. We just zipped out for a quick byte to eat or something.
In this case, I just got overwhelmed by life. Okay, the truth is, I got a brand-spanking-new Sonos home-theater setup, and I’ve been spending more time than I should have watching movies in glorious sound and picture (Okay, for me it’s just sound, but hey… it’s still eargasmic!), and haven’t spent nearly enough time editing. Before I knew it, it became March!
But here we are at last. With the holiday offering that should’ve dropped three months ago!
What is this holiday offering, you ask? It’s an adventure from the game Troubleshooters, brought to us by Xofour himself. It’s action and adventure in the 1960s! I only speak for myself here when I say some of us weren’t super-familiar with the material which inspired this TTRPG, but we did our best, and we all had fun. We hope you do, too.
