Pandemic 1918 vs Pandemic 2020

We can learn from the Pandemic of 1918, but we clearly didn't get it back then and we seemed to not have learned well from those lessons. The Pandemic of 1918 lasted 3 years. Looks like Pandemic of 2020 appears to last up to 2021 despite the advances in medicine and technology. There was mask controversy then as well as now. There were those who thought it was a hoax as well as now. But the numbers speak for themselves, 675,000 dead in the United States. The Pandemic of 2020 365,000 deaths and climbing. When will we learn?
