John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
When we read this verse it starts out as bad news but if we continue to read we reach the "Good News." Jesus say’s He has come that we might have life, but not only that but we might have life more abundantly! That’s “Good News.” Many people live their lives always looking at the bad news, but if we turn that bad news coin over we will find the "Good News." Which side of the coin are you looking at? If you live your life with a defeated attitude you will live a defeated life. But if you live your life expecting to receive good things from God you will receive all the blessings that God wants to give you. I know this is hard for some people to imagine, but you must come to the realization that God is so much bigger than anything you will ever face. We are children of the most high God, we are blessed and highly favored, we have royalty in our DNA we are children of the King. So why would you not live your life expecting Him to give you victory? God intends for you to be a champion, not a defeated person. If you claim victory and expect victory, you will get it along with a greater sense of power and peace! God wants you to live abundantly, so learn to expect His abundance.
Every time Satan throws a stumbling block at you just ask the Lord to turn it into a stepping stone. God wants to raise us up higher than we ever thought possible and He will use every stumbling block that is thrown at us as stepping stones, if we stay in faith and allow Him to work in our life.
No matter what has been taken away from you, no matter what you’ve lost or experienced in the past, if you give it over to God, He will return to you more than you could ask or imagine. He’ll make things right and give you more than what was lost or stolen. God wants to multiply your joy, peace, wisdom, health, finances. I'm praying for a double portion of His favor in every area of your life! The first step in moving forward into this fresh future is forgetting the disappointments of yesterday. It’s time shake it off, to turn loose those disappointments of your past and reach out in faith to God’s abundant future. No matter how painful the blows or distressing the situation may seem if we shake it off and put it under our feet we can use the adversities of life to raise us up to new levels. What seems like is going to bury us many times God uses to bless us. Stay positive and remember Romans 16:20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
Take the 30 day challenge, and for the next 30 days wake up in the morning saying “I am blessed and highly favored” and every time someone ask you how you’re doing? Just say, “I’m Blessed and Highly Favored” no matter what kind of day you’ re having. You will find out that you truly are Blessed & Highly Favored!

Luke 23: 39-43 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Here is a story I heard once and you can find this story on the internet, I published this in one of our Newsletters last year.
Long time ago there was a man traveling across country and he stopped in a small diner for lunch. He walked in the diner and sat down and ordered his lunch. As he sat there waiting, a picture across the room caught his eye. You see this man was the chess champion of the world and was on his way to defend his title in the city. The painting was of the devil and a young man setting at a table playing chess. The devil had a gleeful look of victory on his face and the young man had a dreadful look of terror. Sweat rolling off his face and tears in his eyes. The painting was of a chess game and the caption read Checkmate. The chess champion stood there studying the chess board. 15 minutes passed then 30 minutes and then 1 hour had passed. Everybody was watching and wondering what was going on when suddenly the chess champion started yelling at the painting! Don’t give up! Don’t give up! There’s one more move! There’s one more move! Victory is yours, you’re just one move away from victory young man, don’t give up! The chess champion had found that there was one more move and many people out there right now feel like there is no hope, but there is one more move! Just like the thief on the cross Jesus is waiting for us to make a move toward him and then He will rescue us out of whatever dilemma we find ourselves in. As we read the scripture we have to decide which side of the cross are we on?
Remember this friends, Jesus Loves you and we do too, and this is Chaplain Gary Rayburn and we will talk at you later!

God Winks
Acts 17:30(KJV) And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent:
Has God ever winked at you in a time of your ignorance? When I read this verse recently my mind immediately went back to a time right after I got saved in 1995 that I heard my first sermon on tithing. I remember talking to the Lord about it and telling Him it just isn’t fair God, I had all these debts before I got saved and now I can’t afford to give 10% so I will just have to give what I can till I get my bills caught up. Then I will start tithing 10% after I get everything caught up. It was as if God winked at me and said “Ok son you can try it your way.
I went along trying it my way for a long time and it may have been about a year later, I was driving across I-74 going through Danville Il. One day minding my own business when I heard the Lord speak to me and say, “ how are you doing on getting your bills caught up? I said, “well Lord not to good, as a matter of fact I think I’m farther behind than I ever was. Then the Lord said to me, “why not try it my way now?” So I said “Yes Lord, I will start tithing. Slowly but surely I started getting all my bills caught up and today I am better off financially than I have ever been.
My good friend Monty Desch had the best testimony I ever heard about tithing. He said, “ When I was lost the devil he always took my whole paycheck each week. He said, “I would spend my whole paycheck on booze and drugs, but after I got saved God only wanted 10% of my paycheck! What a deal!
The devil wants it all! The devil came to kill, steal, & destroy, But Jesus came to give us life and live more abundantly!
So many times we want to do it our way and not God’s way and it always gets us in trouble. What is it that God is winking at you about? What is it that you need to bring to Jesus and leave at the foot of the tree, at the foot of the cross? Christ is the answer for whatever burden you’re carrying, trust Him to take care of it today!
And I know this much for sure friends, Jesus loves you and we do too! And this is Chaplain Gary Rayburn and we will talk at you later!

Let Your Light Shine!
Chaplain Gary Rayburn
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- 1 Peter 2:9
People don’t want to hear about Jesus Christ, they want to see Jesus Christ. People are looking for someone who is real about their faith. Christians have been given the most powerful force in the universe, the Holy Spirit comes to live in each one of us when we are saved. The power of the Holy Spirit empowers us to communicate, to be God’s light in someone’s dark world. We as Christians may be the only bible some people ever read. Each one of us can be Jesus to someone without hope. We may not be able to reach everyone, but we sure can make a difference in the one’s we do reach.
Peculiar is a peculiar way for God to want us to be... The word itself means to be unusual, eccentric, and odd. But being peculiar also has another meaning; belonging distinctively, exclusively to one person- being special and unique.
When we are saved we become a peculiar people. That doesn’t mean we have to be weird or crazy, but it does mean we are to be sold out to one person, and that one person is Jesus. We are special and unique and Jesus has a purpose and plan for our lives.
Matthew 5 14-16 reads “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
We are to be a light, shining the light of the Gospel message everywhere we go. It doesn’t matter if we are at Church, school, home, or work. We are to be witnesses to whosoever, whenever and wherever. Hide it under a bushel, NO! Let your light so shine, pointing OTHERS to Jesus!
And remember Jesus loves you and we do too! This is Chaplain Gary Rayburn and we will talk at you later....
I Think Myself Happy! Chaplain Gary Rayburn
Acts 26: 2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews,
You ever had a bad day when nothing seems to go right! Of course we all have right, well what can we do about it when it seems to be out of our hands? In Acts Chapter 26 Paul was in prison and had been there for a couple years when he finally got his audience with King Agrippa and he told the King “I Think Myself Happy!” Then Paul went on to share his own personal testimony with the King.
King David in the Old Testament the Bible refers to him as a man after God’s own heart in 1 Samuel Chapter 30 was in a time in his life when nothing was going right and his own men were talking about stoning him to death. David was greatly distressed and the Bible says but David encouraged himself in the Lord! Sometimes that is exactly what we need to do as Christian people we need to encourage ourselves in the Lord, we need to think ourselves happy! How do we do that? We go back to the day that Jesus saved us and changed us and set our feet upon the solid Rock. We may need to share our testimony or at least relive it in our minds and think ourselves happy! We need to remind ourselves just how good God is and all the good things He has done for us since that day we got saved. We may even need to remember just how miserable we was before we asked Jesus into our hearts!
David was able to encourage himself in the Lord or excite himself in the Lord because he had a personal relationship with the Lord. Too many people know about God, but don’t know God. They don’t have that close personal relationship with God. They have forgotten just why they go to Church every Sunday.
We need to encourage ourselves we need to think ourselves Happy we need to remember who we are in Christ and we need to be contagious Christians splashing Jesus on everyone we come in contact with. We can be everything God has called us to be, but it is our choice, choose to be blessed and highly favored today and you will be, and it will rub off on all those you come in contact with.
And I know this much for sure Jesus Loves you and we do too! And this is Chaplain Gary Rayburn and we will talk at you later!

Psalm 46: 10a “Be still and know that I am God”
A long time ago before people had refrigerators, in parts of the world where the weather was very cold in winter, people built houses to store ice in which it would last right into the summer - they used these icehouse to store their food - to stop it from going bad. These icehouses had very thick walls and no windows plus a door which fitted very well. In winter, when lakes and rivers froze over with thick ice, people would cut big blocks and haul them back to the ice house on sleds. They covered the ice with sawdust which helped it take longer to melt.
One day a man lost his watch while he was working in an icehouse. He and some helpers searched for it amongst the sawdust but couldn’t find it anywhere. A small boy who heard about the lost watch slipped into the icehouse while the workers were having their lunch. He soon came out with the watch to the amazement of the adults. “How did you do it?” They asked him. “Well”, the boy replied, “I just laid down in the sawdust, and kept very still and quiet - and I heard the watch ticking. It was easy to find it then.” The only way that the boy was able to hear the watch ticking was by being
very quiet and still - by having patience. When Jesus left his friends and disciples he promised that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came, but he didn’t say when that would happen. So they all went to a room together and they stayed there and they must have had patience because they prayed for days on end for Jesus promise to be fulfilled. There must also have been times when they were quiet and still, just like the boy in the icehouse and I’m sure that when they were, that’s when they were able to hear God speak words of encouragement to them to keep going because their prayers would be answered in time. There are times when we need to be quiet and still to listen for God’s voice speaking to us.
