First time in the history, a private entity SpaceX was able to send NASA astronauts into orbit. The Crew Dragon capsule was sent to Earth’s orbit on the Falcon 9 rocket. The capsule docked with the International Space Station, 19 hours after its launch on 30th 2020
Here in India, in Gujarat, in Ahmedabad to be specific, a computer Engineer named Mr. Adhir Saiyadh was on a video call with his student regarding International Space Station. Where his student asked him if they could connect with, he ISS. And Mr. Saiyadh decided to give a try. He tried connecting the ISS while being on a video call. And co-incidentally, he got connected on their frequency and received a reply from the capsule and experienced a video call type connection. Now that made Mr. Saiyadh proud, as he felt that, he was too a part of the history that the Team NASA and SpaceX made.
Now let us talk about the HAM radio. What is it ?
Ham Radio, also known as Amateur radio, is the use of Radio frequency spectrum for the purpose of non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, private recreation, radiosport, contesting, and emergency communication. This is meant totally for personal aim.
Radio amateurs are limited to the use of small frequency bands, allocated throughout the radio spectrum, but within these bands are allowed to transmit on any frequency using a variety of voice, text, image, and data communications modes. This enables communication across a city, region, country, continent, the world, or even into space.
