Hey everyone! In this episode we discuss Vancian Magic which is the general term used to describe magic used in Dungeons and Dragons. It is inspired by the Dying Earth series written by Jack Vance. I brought on Jason Connerly to help me discuss this because he claims to be an expert at D&D and tells me all the time how I should be playing the game. Enjoy!

Call-ins from Vance. A recap of my most recent Solar Blades and Cosmic Spells game. The good, the bad, and the missed opportunities.
This episode is inspired by three call-ins from Ray Otus of Plundergrounds. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/m/product/230912 http://plundergrounds.blogspot.com/?m=1 http://www.jellysaw.com/ http://oldskulling.blogspot.com/?m=1
In this episode I discuss some recent mistakes I have made when Game Mastering. Specifically around random table design and choices in game that impede the pulp style action I trying to emulate. #D&D #Dungeons&Dragons #TTRPG
This episode has Jason of the Nerds RPG Variety Cast on to follow up with his call-ins to my previous episode on attributes! #Dungeons&Dragons #D&D #RPG #TTRPG Show Notes: https://www.mathsisfun.com/platonic_solids.html https://anchor.fm/jason376 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arduin
In this episode I discuss Attributes and how I prefer some of the newer systems of play such as roll under or where your attribute is your bonus. This is a departure from classic Dungeons and Dragons and other more old school style system currently being utilized by the TTRPG community. Not saying the old school system is wrong (heck I grew up with it and still enjoy playing it) and just simply stating my own personnel design preferences. Enjoy!
In this episode I tackled the subject of hit points and also highlight a cool creator in the hobby Justin David Russell. #ttrpg #epicwerkesstudio
