For the final episode of this season, I share an unforgettable experience with a remarkable 96-year-old who is a living testament to the power of the human spirit.

Recently, I was privileged to walk in the footsteps of the Windemere Children, in the stunning landscape of the Lake District. Their story provides proof that we can find our way out of despair - and that there is hope for today's children and teens who are struggling with their mental health.

The life-affirming story of the Windemere Children - who survived the Holocaust and came back to life in the Lake District - is a beacon of light.

It can empower us to heal from our past and move forward with our life. It shows us that, whatever we have endured, we are not broken: we can start again.

Ultimately, this is a universal blueprint for hope and resilience.

Did you know that simply chatting to a stranger improves our wellbeing (and the state of humanity)?

In this life-affirming, re-released conversation, I chat with veteran journalist Joe Keohane, author of "The Power of Strangers: The Benefits of Connecting in a Suspicious World".

At a time when we are increasingly isolated on our screens and “othering” is on the rise, this conversation is a timely reminder of the power of human connection.

You'll hear Joe explaining what we have to gain by starting up a conversation with a stranger - and practical, joyful, simple ways to connect with others.

I hope this episode inspires you to seek out conversations with strangers - and start to reap the benefits.

In this moving and inspiring episode, I chat to a wise, gentle mid-lifer called Karen Villet. Karen is a cancer survivor, mother and (since we recorded this conversation) now a functional medicine health coach.

You'll hear about:

  • The importance of releasing self-criticism to make space for self-compassion and growth.
  • The difference between surviving and thriving.
  • Chronic disease as a teacher (and then inviting it to leave).
  • Why health information (and even a life-threatening illness) isn’t always enough to help us stick to healthy habits

Please note: this conversation is in NO WAY intended as medical advice or expert advice on cancer treatment.

48-year-old Karen lives in Cape Town, South Africa, and started out as an occupational therapist. Following her own health journey, she's now beginning her next chapter as a functional medicine health coach - inspiring others to live their healthiest, most thriving selves. She's also a busy mum of one teen, one tween and two lively hounds.

This is a soulful, thought-provoking conversation with Georgie Stewart, an award-winning illustrator artist who I had the privilege of coaching recently.

Georgie went from being totally overwhelmed by work (and a sugar addiction) to feeling radiant, joyful and fulfilled.

We explore:

  • How it feels to treat your body like a machine that exists to work.
  • Why many of us use overwork as a distraction from uncomfortable feelings.
  • How reconnecting with your inner child is key to thriving.
  • The power of creativity in restoring your energy and balance.

This episode is a reminder that your inner glow isn’t lost: it's waiting for you to tune back into it.

Georgie's work has been featured in British Vogue and she's collaborated with Apple, HarperCollins and Penguin Random House. She also hosts the Creative Rituals podcast.

In this episode, I’m sharing something profoundly life-changing.

It's the simple daily practice that helps me build my resilience, boost my mood and shift into a mindset of abundance — even in life’s hardest moments.

Yes, we’re talking about gratitude.

Tune in to hear me share:

  • Why a daily gratitude practice is the ultimate way to shift out of a negative, scarcity mindset and increase your level of happiness
  • The reason why so many people who buy a gratitude journal don't actually write in it.
  • How to get over the "gratitude gap": that gulf between your intention to practise gratitude...and actually doing it!

On the 5th anniversary of this podcast, I'm revisiting my eye-opening conversation with functional medicine expert, Dr Sarah Davies.

You'll hear me share what my younger son suffered as a little boy. Year after year, he was put on increasing amounts of medication that didn't cure him. That's because the experts in charge of his care had no understanding of the role of gut health. His story now drives me to help other families who are feeling helpless.

You'll hear us discuss:

  • The body's innate wisdom and ability to heal itself.
  • Why our current medical system is failing patients by not treating the root cause of chronic conditions.
  • How a functional medicine approach is reversing conditions that are deemed to be untreatable.

You can hear the full story of what happened to my son in episode 59 of this podcast, "The Medicine of Miracles", with Dr. Mark Hyman. Find it here.

Dr Sarah Davies is founder of Functional Nexus and is a passionate educator of both patients and practitioners. You can learn more about her practice here.

Welcome to episode 100 of this podcast!

On this milestone episode, it felt right to share the absolute bedrock of my wellbeing: the weekly Jewish Sabbath.

I lift the lid on what the Sabbath means to me - and how you can create your own sanctuary in time (you don't need to be Jewish to have a regular day of rest!).

In our unpredictable, chaotic, stressful, tech-filled world, a weekly respite is more important than ever. Too much choice is leaving us feeling paralysed, distracted, exhausted, overwhelmed, unfocused and unable to prioritise. The antidote is simple and available to everyone.

You'll learn:

  • How limiting our choices for one day a week not only reduces our stress but also increases our clarity and productivity.
  • Why we need a predictable rhythm in order to thrive, with firm boundaries and respite baked into our week.
  • The importance of creating regular rituals that foster close connection with your loved ones.

I'd love to know if this episode inspires you to instigate your own day of rest.

Talking to others is a crucial part of our wellbeing: particularly if we're struggling with something and need a compassionate, listening ear.

But our tongue can cause us - and others - significant harm.

If we use our power of speech to gossip, complain or put ourselves down, that has a negative impact on our own wellbeing - not to mention the effect is has on other people.

In this episode, I help you to become more aware of what is coming out of your mouth - and how that might be attracting negative energy into your life.

In this episode, I spill the beans on what I learnt during my many years working in PR for the food industry. I thought I'd re-share this, following my recent appearance on the BBC film "Irresistible: Why We Can't Stop Eating".

During those years in PR, I gained a first-hand insight into how we're being manipulated into eating foods that gradually destroy our health.

This is information that we ALL need to know if we want to protect our health - and the health of our family.

It sounds far-fetched to go from feeling toxic and self-hating - to feeling calm and positive...within 6 weeks (without any drugs or expensive interventions).

That was precisely the experience of Abbe Meek, a 52-year-old mum of two who hit menopause and fell to pieces. Abbe tweaked her morning routine - and was astonished to discover that it transformed her life and her relationship with her family.

Have a listen to my chat with Abbe to hear the tiny, gentle change she made to get back to feeling like herself.

In this (the final episode in this season of Midlife Illuminated) I share something that every woman needs. Particularly in midlife, when we are overwhelmed by the needs of others.

It's the need to return to ourselves. In the classic book Women Who Run With The Wolves, this is described as "homing".

With thanks to Clarissa Pinkola Estes - author of Women Who Run With The Wolves - for enlightening me on the need for homing.

I hope this episode gives you the permission you need to do your own homing.

I'm now starting a quiet time of no podcasting and no social media posting. To find out how transformative this was last year, listen to episode 68 of this podcast ("I saw the light! Here's how.") You can find it here:

Women have always been conditioned to put their own wellbeing last. Research shows that their pets get better care than they do. Pets are wonderful companions: they need and deserve our care. But don't we deserve some care too?

Research has also shown that this "me-last" conditioning leads to serious consequences when it comes to our health outcomes.

For our sakes AND the sake of our loved ones, let's rip up this script and begin a new one. I hope this episode gives you the inspiration to rethink your priorities and discover what lights YOU up.

It's not news to most women that their bodies can be ruled by their hormones!

But what is less well known is that food can help balance out our hormones and keep us on an even keel.

My guest on this episode, Charlotte Hunter, has been a registered and qualified Nutritional Therapist since 2010. Since then, she has helped many men, women and children to eat well and be healthy. Her firm belief is that food can be healthy and delicious, and can support a number of medical conditions and issues.

Having gone through an early (surgical) menopause herself, her focus now is helping women to navigate the menopause.

As I'm in the perimenopause myself, I'm keen to be armed with as much knowledge as possible to help my body stay balanced through this time of my life. I loved chatting to Charlotte for her unstinting honesty and her lovely way of explaining hormones in a way people can understand!

In this conversation, we chat through ways in which women can help themselves. We also talk about weight gain - and why I (even as a healthy eating health coach!) gained over a stone in weight in 2020.

Our levels of collagen (which is essential to keep our skin, bones and joints healthy) plummet in menopause. The collagen I take daily is Known's Advanced Collagen Supplement, which has a 98% absorption rate, due to its leading-edge formulation that includes liposomal Vitamin C. It also tastes delicious! This is a big, big subject...and one which affects ALL of us.

As you'll hear Gwyneth Moss explain, we all picked up limiting beliefs when we were very young children. These limiting beliefs (also known as "false truths") are often what are sabotaging us as adults.

In this exceptionally eye-opening conversation, you'll learn how false truths dictate our thoughts, behaviours and life choices...without us even being aware of them.

I can wholeheartedly say that this conversation might just change your life.

I've been fortunate to have trained in EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) with Gwyneth and am excited to share her straight-talking wisdom with you for a second time on this podcast.

Gwyneth teaches people how to use tapping to help themselves, to help others, to help children and even to help animals. EFT tapping has opened up an endless journey of curiosity for her, to which she brings her Cambridge degree in physics, her Northern common sense - and a lifetime of exploring the world and its people.

Gwyneth is currently training an NHS mental health team in EFT.

This is a gorgeous, sparkling conversation with someone who really does radiate vitality and joy. It's all about the fascinating topic of colour. Have you ever stopped to think that colour has the power to heal us and to affect our behaviour?

Dr Deanna Minich is someone who has devoted much of her career to studying this phenomenon. She is a nutrition researcher, educator and functional medicine-trained clinician. She has a unique approach to nutrition: one that combines physiology and psychology.

I loved chatting to her and really think this conversation will encourage you to think differently about colour - and what it can bring to your life.

Whether it's through our clothes, our foods or our surroundings, Dr Minich explains that we are affected by different colours in subtle but profound ways. She shares simple ways that we can start to use colour to benefit from more "life-force". And I think we're all up for more of that!

Dr Minich has served on the Institute of Functional Medicine’s Nutrition Advisory Board and curriculum committee, in addition to being a faculty member. Her academic background is in nutritional science, including a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences (Nutrition) from the University of Groningen in The Netherlands. She is a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition and a Certified Nutrition Specialist.

Dr. Minich has more than forty published scientific articles in journals such as Nutrients, Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism, and Nutrition Reviews. She is the author of six books on nutrition, wellness, and psychology, and is passionate about helping others to live well using therapeutic lifestyle changes.

I found this conversation so deeply thought-provoking that I've been playing Lucy Barnwell's words in my head to remind myself of what's important in life.

Lucy is someone who truly lives by what she believes.

And yet, Lucy is no wellness "guru". In fact, until recently, she dismissed everything to do with wellbeing as "a load of hooey" (if you're not familiar with the word, it means nonsense!).

Lucy is simply a normal person who came to a crossroads in life. Following an illness, she decided to do something radical. While still pursuing a rewarding working life, she's decided to stop sacrificing her physical and mental health for her career. Having watched her health suffer through work stress, she's now opted to live her life to the full by putting her own wellbeing first.

I'm someone who has previously sacrificed her wellbeing for work - and Lucy's words really hit me in the heart.

I love the realness and honesty of sharing conversations with "normal", non-expert people. I believe it's what makes them so relatable. If they can make changes to get more out of their life, so can the rest of us!

I really hope you find this conversation as inspiring as I did.

This episode is a total joy. It's a conversation with my dear friend Debbie Hilton and it's all about something which comes naturally to all of us - but which most of us don't often do as adults. Dancing!

It's beyond question that dancing is medicine. And it's medicine that we all have a right to benefit from.

I feel truly privileged to be able to experience the joy of dancing in Debbie's classes. As I'm not a natural dancer and even struggle with my left/right, I'd feel really intimidated going to most classes - but Debbie is really passionate about making dance accessible to EVERYBODY. I've seen for myself what a simple one/two step to music can do for people's wellbeing on every level. It's no overstatement to describe it as magic.

You'll hear us chat about:

  • The astonishing health benefits of moving to music, including preventing and even reversing dementia.
  • The huge boost to our mood and mental resilience that we get from moving our body to music.
  • Dance as a moving meditation which helps us to get in the moment and gain perspective on the challenges we're facing in our life .
  • How dancing increases our self-confidence and helps us to love the body we're in.
  • Why we need to keep nurturing our child-like spark of creativity
  • Simple ways to benefit from the magic of dance from your home - whatever age, shape or size you are.

Debbie is pure inspiration and I promise that you'll feel differently about your relationship to dance after listening to her.

Debbie is an actress and performing arts teacher. She trained in ballet and modern dance at The Northern Ballet school and then studied musical theatre at Guildford School of Acting. As well as working as a performer, it has been her privilege to coach many people ( aged 5-80 ) in performing arts.

Debbie is deeply passionate about performing arts as a tool for improving health and wellbeing. She believes that, by tapping into and using our innate creative spark, we can gain more vitality and joy in life - and stay young!

As we launch ourselves into spring, it felt the perfect time to share an uplifting conversation about the role of nature's cycles in our life.

My guest is Sadie Pickering - truly someone who is in harmony with nature and who has been a personal inspiration to me for several years. I've learnt so many life-enhancing self-care rituals from Sadie and it's a real pleasure to share them with you too.

Sadie is the founder of Soul Beauty Rituals, which is a unique combination of healing modalities (body/emotional/energy/soul work) that centre around cycles of nature and our own cycles.

I loved chatting to Sadie about how to harness the special energy of spring to achieve the life we wish for; what the moon’s cycles have to do with our wellbeing; how to clean our homes of negative energy and allow space for new, positive things to enter our life; how creativity and confidence are our birthright; and so much more.

Sadie has a background in the creative industries: she was a professional actress for over 20 years, working in television, film and theatre. She is also an accomplished singer/songwriter and crowdfunded to produce her first album ‘Left Over Dust’. She’s always been passionate about the healing arts as well as the creative arts. Through her work now, she helps people to come home to themselves as cyclical beings, to discover their own unique gifts and to live a soul-fulfilled life.

In the first part of this episode, I share a deeply personal and very emotional story.

It's the story of my younger son, Louis, and what happened to him as a small child when he was put on medication following a (wrong) diagnosis of a chronic bowel condition. He suffered for years because of a misguided attempt to fix a symptom whilst ignoring the cause. It’s a story of not only physical suffering but also of emotional trauma - and it very much drives my mission now as a Functional Medicine Health Coach.

The second part of the episode is an extract from a conversation I was privileged to have with a visionary, pioneering doctor. Dr Mark Hyman is the person who first inspired me to take up the role I have now - and who continues to inspire me.

Dr Hyman explains the radical difference between functional medicine and conventional medicine. Rather than focusing on symptoms, functional medicine tackles the root cause of a condition and is remarkably effective at curing "incurable/life-long" conditions that conventional medicine gives up on.

As Dr Hyman explains, using a functional medicine approach to reverse complex, chronic conditions may sound like a miracle. But, as he spells out, it’s not a miracle. It's science.

For just one of countless life-transforming examples, here's how functional medicine reversed a young woman's multiple sclerosis (as featured very recently on NBC's Today Programme).

https://www.today.com/video/what-is-functional-medicine-inside-the-growing-health-trend-135040581616

We also talk about the fundamental role that food plays in health; how the food industry has actively manipulated people away from real food; and the importance of supporting people to make (and sustain) the vital lifestyle changes they need to recover.

Dr Hyman is a practicing family physician and an internationally recognized leader, speaker, educator and advocate in the field of Functional Medicine. He is the founder and director of The UltraWellness Center, Senior Advisor for the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, a fourteentime New York Times best-selling author and Board President for Clinical Affairs for The Institute for Functional Medicine. He is the host of one of the leading health podcasts, The Doctor’s Farmacy. Dr. Hyman is a regular medical contributor to several television shows and networks, including CBS, This Morning, Today, Good Morning America, The View and CNN. He is also an advisor and guest co-host on The Dr. Oz Show.

I feel that this conversation is one of the most important I've had so far on the podcast. As my guest Susan Hyatt lays bare, diet culture is trapping girls and women in a cycle of suffering. (And I know from my work as a health coach that men are affected in exactly the same way).

It horrifies me that children are being caught in this toxic culture and led down the route to eating disorders. Susan shares how she first started dieting at the age of 11, and how yo-yo dieting affected her life for decades.

We talk about the self-loathing that diet culture leads to; the wasted effort/energy/headspace devoted to counting calories; and how to develop a positive relationship with food and with yourself.

Susan Hyatt has 15 years' experience as a Master Certified Life and Business Coach. She wrote the bestselling book BARE that has inspired women all over the world to stop shrinking their bodies and start expanding their lives.

She delivered a speech to a sold-out audience at the country’s largest TEDx conference about why women need to stop obsessing about their weight. She has been featured in magazines such as O: The Oprah Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen and Woman’s World.

If I could persuade everyone to adopt just one habit, it would be a daily gratitude practice. It's no exaggeration to say that this is a practice that transform's people lives on every level.

This week's episode is a deeply uplifting conversation with the inspirational Holly Bertone. Holly lives and breathes gratitude. She discovered its power after she was hit by a double whammy of chronic diseases which took her from over-achieving high-performer to bed-ridden and unable to function.

Whatever challenges you are currently facing in life, this conversation will empower you to start reaping the remarkable benefits of gratitude. The research is unequivocal: gratitude transforms our emotional health, helps us to recover from past traumas, builds our resilience and improves our physical health too.

Holly's approach is gentle and kind: she shows you how to start to build gratitude into your life, no matter how difficult that might seem. We share lots of very personal, real-life anecdotes - and also discuss how gratitude helps children to thrive and boost their self-esteem.

Holly is a best-selling author, sought-after speaker and gratitude coach. As a breast cancer and autoimmune survivor, she helps women to view their chronic illness as a gift and to unwrap their resilience.

Holly spent 25 years rising through the ranks of consulting and federal government service before her failing health shattered her corporate dreams. Since then, she has leaned into her path of true purpose and fulfillment, as the President and CEO of Pink Fortitude and founder of Fortitude.Academy.

Holly is a Project Management Professional and holds a Masters Degree from Johns Hopkins University. She is also a Certified Natural Health Professional.

This episode will come as a real shock to people who know me – because I’ve always been staunchly against drugs.

So what persuaded me to change my mind and volunteer for my first ever experience of a psychedelic drug?

You may have read about new research showing the remarkable effects of magic mushrooms in treating a host of mental disorders, such as depression, addictions and PTSD.

There's a lot of hype around this ground-breaking area of “plant medicine” and - after careful thought - I decided that I would experience this for myself and then share an honest, first-person account with you. So I recently travelled to Amsterdam to take magic mushrooms in a safe, legal, supported setting with a skilled therapist. As you’ll hear, the experience wasn’t quite what I expected!

This is one of the most fascinating and timely conversations I’ve shared so far. It also brings a much-needed dose of nuance, honesty and realism to the subject of magic mushrooms.

My guest on this episode is Jonathan de Potter, Founder & CEO of Behold Retreats - a bespoke wellness service that facilitates journeys of self-discovery and transformation, supported by the scientifically proven benefits of plant medicine therapy. He’s passionate about raising awareness of the benefits of plant medicine therapy, and its potential to improve wellbeing and mental health outcomes. This led him to launch Behold Retreats in 2020, providing curated programs which incorporate a memorable plant medicine retreat in a safe, legal and highly supported setting.

[Warning: this episode contains an account of a violent attack.]

It has long been known that forgiveness is the path to inner peace and happiness. And there are further, immense benefits from being able to let go of resentment and anger towards those who have wronged us: forgiveness has been shown to lead to remarkable physical healing from all sorts of long-term conditions.

It was my huge privilege to sit down with someone who genuinely epitomizes the quality of forgiveness. Dr Nasser Kurdy is an orthopedic surgeon who, in 2017, was stabbed in the neck while entering the grounds of his local mosque.

You'll hear how his act of his forgiveness towards his attacker has transformed his life and continues to energize him to this day.

This is a deeply inspiring conversation that I think will leave you with a lasting sense of hope and optimism.

Dr Kurdy shares his profound reflections on what happened to him in his new book: A Reply to Hate: Forgiving My Attacker.

If you would like to find more inspiration to reach forgiveness in your own life, I also recommend this book: Forgiveness: The Greatest Healer of All by Gerald Jampolsky.

Here is the forgiveness meditation I mention in this episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPKzgdO-VfY

Many people assume that I've always been an upbeat health coach with a picture-perfect, healthy lifestyle. But that is very, very far from the truth and I really feel it's important for my listeners to know that I have previously sunk very low.

In this special, end-of-year episode, I swop roles and am interviewed by my friend Kate Moryoussef. Kate first met me when I was an overstretched mother of two very young children and was managing a small PR consultancy which somehow grew into a very large, all-consuming business.

In our deeply frank conversation, I share what state I was in 10 years ago and 20 years ago - two extremely challenging points in my life. I am brutally honest in this episode and share some things I haven't previously talked about in public.

You'll hear me talk about spending a year in a toxic work environment that left me ill, underweight and traumatised; my guilt at not being there for my children when they needed me; my PTSD following 9/11; my spiralling grief when my Dad passed away; and making a radical decision that transformed not only my health but the whole course of my life.

You can also find a video version of this conversation here:

This episode cuts right to the heart of what healthcare can (and should!) look like. It's so much more than simply treating disease - it's about helping people to live their fullest life.

Dr Kristi Hughes is one of the truly visionary doctors I was privileged to learn from as part of my studies to become a functional medicine health coach. I know that you will be as inspired by Kristi as I was: it's impossible not to be positively affected by her enthusiasm.

In this episode, you'll learn how past events may have impacted on the current state of your health; how changing your lifestyle factors can transform every aspect of your existence; and how you can move forward to a fulfilling, meaningful life of vibrant health.

Kristi talks very openly about her own personal battles and how she has reinvented her own life over the past few years.

(Warning: Kristi speaks very movingly about the suicide of her brother. )

Dr Kristi Hughes has dedicated her life and professional path to the study and practice of root-cause medicine. She graduated from the National College of Natural Medicine in Oregon and launched the Center of Natural Healing Arts in Minnesota in 1997.

Over the past twenty years, her participation in medical education has taken Kristi around the world. She served as a Director of Medical Education at the Institute for Functional Medicine for a decade.

She became a Functional Medicine Health Coach (after years on the Functional Medicine Health Coaching Academy advisory board) to further her skills in the coach approach to transforming lifestyle behaviours.

She now owns and operates DocereVita, the private practice where she offers personalized naturopathic and functional medicine healthcare consultations.

We all want vibrant health, glowing skin, a healthy immune system and to feel emotionally well...but did you know that your lymphatic system is key to all of that? And that you can give yourself a simple self-massage to transform your wellbeing?

I feel very privileged to have had my eyes opened to the remarkable role of our lymphatic system – and how we can actively care for it. And that is all thanks to the amazingly passionate Lisa Levitt Gainsley, who is my guest on this episode of Wellness Unwrapped.

Lisa is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Manual Lymphatic Drainage practitioner, author of The Book of Lymph, educator and speaker. She holds a double certification in Lymphedema Therapy and is a member of the Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN) and National Lymphedema Network (NLN).

Lisa has pioneered the field of lymphatic self-massage and founded The Lymphatic Message to educate and build awareness of the importance of the lymphatic system in maintaining immunity. She counts Selma Blair and Freida Pinto among her dedicated clientele at her private practice in Los Angeles.

You can watch Lisa demonstrate a simple facial message at 31.57 - 33.41 minutes of this video version of our conversation:

We've always been told to beware of strangers...but it turns out that talking to strangers is a proven way to make us happier and healthier.

In this life-affirming conversation, I chat with veteran journalist Joe Keohane, author of the brilliant new book "The Power of Strangers: The Benefits of Connecting in a Suspicious World".

At a time when many of us are retreating into our phone screens and human beings are becoming more detached from each other, Joe's message is more important than ever. Loneliness has been described as "one of the greatest public health challenges of our time" (in the words of Tracey Crouch, the first UK government-appointed minister for loneliness).

You'll hear Joe explaining what we have to gain by starting up a conversation with a stranger - and practical, joyful, simple ways to connect with others. Even if you don't feel confident of your social skills, this conversation will leave you empowered to connect with others in a way that makes you feel good about yourself.

This conversation is very powerful and may cause you to feel better about humanity and the world we live in. Let me know what you think!

I learnt so much about what it means to be a woman in this conversation with Sally Beaton. I just wish I'd learnt this when I was 15 rather than 50!

Have a listen to Sally's wisdom on the meaning and power of the monthly cycles in a woman's life; why we are programmed to have regular rest; why we are NOT hormonal messes; why we are our own best doctors...and so much more. I promise that you'll think very differently about your right to everyday pleasures after listening to this!

This really is one of the most life-changing conversations I've had and I regularly replay Sally's words in my head.

Sally is the founder of Women With Sparkle. She's a women’s holistic nutritionist, a coach, a speaker and the author of ‘Get Your Sparkle Back’.

Sally coaches women all over the world to reach their full potential. She believes that every woman deserves to live with health, confidence, passion and purpose. Sally works with women struggling with their hormones, health or happiness and helps them to get back their inner and outer sparkle so they can truly shine in business and in life.

Welcome to a brand new season of Wellness Unwrapped!

To kick off season 3, I'm sharing some reflections I've had while on a break from the podcast and social media over the summer. In this solo episode, I share my thoughts on my time with someone who - having faced her own mortality - lives by a mantra that I'm also trying to adopt.

This conversation is one which is engraved on my heart. It's with 92-year-old Eva Neumann, known to everyone as Bobby.

Bobby is a survivor of Auschwitz. Her story is one you'll never forget. It's impossible not to be moved and inspired by her remarkable resilience, humour and lack of bitterness.

Bobby was sent to Auschwitz as a 15-year-old. Her parents and two younger brothers were selected for the gas chambers, while she was put to work.

In this episode, you'll hear the miraculous story of how she came to survive the Holocaust, having been abandoned in a pile of dead bodies - and why she ultimately decided to make the most of the life she had. You'll also hear why Bobby's testimony is needed now more than ever.

This is an emotive episode and please be aware that it contains disturbing content.

Here is a link to a video where you can watch Bobby share her full story (including how she gave a German soldier a diamond in exchange for a packet of salt.). You can also watch her return to Auschwitz with her family.

I've included below translations of a few Hebrew words that Bobby uses, together with the timings of where they appear in the conversation:

18.00 mins: Shul = synagogue

25.28 mins: Levaya = funeral

31.34 mins: Shabbos = the Jewish sabbath

33.56 mins: Chollant = a slow-cooked dish traditionally eaten on the Sabbath lunch.

Finally, here's a link to the National Holocaust Centre and Museum that I mention: https://www.holocaust.org.uk/

Thank you so much for listening.

As many of us find ourselves buckling under the weight of our responsibilities and struggling to keep up with the pace, I thought I'd share a bitesized episode to help us find our balance.

Have a listen to a nugget of wisdom from my conversation with Terri Creeden. I chatted to Terri on episode 32 of Wellness Unwrapped which was called "Why we need to put ourselves first". Since then, I've reminded myself many times of her wise insight into juggling our many responsibilities.

Terri is a certified executive coach, trainer and facilitator. Her most passionate work is in the areas of personal presence, self-worth and authenticity. She believes in embracing slowness in our lives and living and leading with courage.

Brace yourself for a thoroughly eye-opening conversation!!

My chat with Julie Ryan has really transformed my view on many things. I found her explanation of what happens to us as we die to be particularly comforting. It has totally altered how I felt about people I knew who died of Covid in hospital, with nobody from their family with them.

Julie is a psychic and medical intuitive. She can sense what medical conditions and illnesses a person has and facilitate energetic healings. She can communicate with spirits and can scan animals. She can access people’s past lives - and lots more besides.

She’s author of “Angelic Attendants: What Really Happens As We Transition From This Life Into The Next” as well as books for children. She’s also a businesswoman, an inventor, a podcaster and a serial entrepreneur.

Julie has kindly offered to send listeners of Wellness Unwrapped a free copy of her books. Just email her at the website below and mention Wellness Unwrapped in your note:

After many years of thinking about it, I've finally taken steps to sort my home's energy out!

I was recently privileged to have Elizabeth Wells visit my house for a Feng Shui consultation. Elizabeth is an internationally accredited practitioner of the Feng Shui Society and an advanced practitioner of the Feng Shui Academy, having practised in the UK, France and the US.

I'm so excited to bring you this conversation with her because, as you'll hear, the whole experience has been very eye-opening for me!

I love Elizabeth's straight-talking honesty. She pointed out many things to me that I really needed to hear as I was struggling to know where to start in getting on top of clearing my home.

Amongst many things, you'll hear us discussing the effect of trapped negative energy on our wellbeing; dealing with clutter (a big problem for me personally!); the electro-magnetic fields that surround us; and how our environment can help us find our meaning in life.

Elizabeth shares practical, achievable tips on how you can start to make your home a place of positive energy so that you feel your best under your own roof.

Introducing Wellness Unwrapped bitesized! I'm always so happy to receive feedback about the podcast and have been asked by listeners to release mini-clips from guests on previous episodes. So here goes!

As the world starts to open up to us again, I thought this was the perfect time to revisit a small slice of wisdom from Gillian Elizabeth.

Gillian urges us to ditch our to-do-lists and our inhibitions...and allow ourselves to experience joy. Her words have been going around my head ever since I recorded this chat with her in February 2020 - and I can honestly say that I really needed to hear them. I think they'll strike a deep chord with you too.

If you'd like to hear more from Gillian, you can find our full conversation in episode 4 of Wellness Unwrapped:

https://pod.co/wellness-unwrapped/why-we-need-more-joy-and-how-to-get-it

If you enjoy this mini format and would like to hear any more of them in the future, please let me know. Thank you!

I loved this very intimate chat with Dr Lucy Loveday, who's a true inspiration to me. You can't help but catch her infectious enthusiasm for being immersed in nature.

In this conversation, we talk honestly about our spiritual relationship with nature - and Lucy gives you practical, simple ways that you can start to connect with nature and feel better.

Lucy is particularly interested in the benefits of nature-based activity for mental health and wellbeing. It's something we dive deep into during this conversation, where Lucy shares how her father's mental health crisis when she was 11 has shaped her life's mission.

Lucy is founder of Movement & The Mind® which showcases the latest research on the benefits of physical activity for mental health and brain development.

A qualified GP and experienced medical educationalist, she is Regional Director for The British Society of Lifestyle Medicine.

One of Lucy's many groundbreaking projects has involved her teaming up with The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall to develop a nature-based wellbeing programme.

The Movement & The Mind virtual conference will take place on 18th June. Find out more details and book your place here: www.movementandthemind.co.uk

I honestly can't imagine what I'd do without essential oils. I use them throughout the house and in so many different ways - from inhaling them before I get out of bed in the morning, to the facial oil I use last thing at night.

In this episode, I chat to Renée Hughes, a qualified aromatherapist and certified holistic health consultant. Renée helps people with issues ranging from anxiety to poor sleep, by empowering them to use essential oils, coupled with breath work and tapping.

In this conversation, she shares how essential oils improve our physical, mental and emotional health and how they help with so many different conditions - from children with attention deficit issues to patients battling cancer.

She also gives practical, easy tips on how you can start to benefit from these magical oils in your own day to day life.

One thing I've learnt as a health coach is that being kind to ourselves works a whole lot better than beating ourselves up.

In this episode, I chat to someone who brings this concept to life. Lynne Gill is a wise, funny and refreshingly straight-talking 69-year-old grandmother.

Lynne has been married to her husband Jim for 50 years and had a long career in nursing (including as a paediatric nurse and health visitor) before retiring.

She adores making all sorts of creative, colourful things; listening to and playing music; singing (especially along with a crowd in the pub); and dancing.

When she contacted me six months ago, she wasn't doing any of those things. She was stuck in feelings of hopelessness, low mood and self-recrimination - beating herself up about her weight, her Type 2 diabetes, her ADD, her sedentary lifestyle - and, most of all, the fact that she couldn't get herself motivated to make the changes she knew she needed to make.

Six months on, Lynne has got her mojo back. She's passionately engaged in all her hobbies and is enjoying looking after her own health, including meditating and moving every day.

In this insightful, warm-hearted conversation, Lynne and I chat about self-compassion, self-acceptance, the therapeutic power of music and colour in getting healthy - and lots more. I know you'll love listening to Lynne as much as I did. She really is a one-off.

I hope this conversation encourages you to shift your view of getting healthy - and inspires you to choose compassionate self-talk over self-critisism. I hope it also encourages you to see gentle, creative activities as a wonderful, effective way to get yourself on the path to feeling vibrant, calm and healthy.

This episode is a very meaty conversation with an inspirational woman who unashamedly uses her gifts to the full and pursues her dreams - and who encourages others to do the same.

Caroline Britton is an intuitive and transformational coach and an expert in helping people to fulfil their potential.

In this conversation, we go deep into manifesting what we truly want in life - and how to use the simple act of writing down our thoughts as a means to transform our lives.

We also talk about our attitudes to wealth and the self-limiting blocks that so often get in the way of our flourishing financially and in every other area of our life.

I really loved this conversation and have listened to it several times since recording it as Caroline ended up giving me personal advice on it!

Caroline spent 14 years at a global consultancy and now uses her incredibly strong intuition for helping people - and her ability to be able to feel what they feel.

She's mother to two small children, the owner of a successful, multiple-six-figure business and she runs numerous business and life-changing programs. She's been published in The Telegraph, Red Magazine and Forbes.

As I've just turned 50, I thought I'd take the opportunity to pause and reflect on some of the big lessons that now shape my life.

In this very personal episode, I share thoughts on what I've learnt - and what has allowed me to go from burnt-out and floundering at 40 to (mostly!) calm, positive and fulfilled at 50. I really hope my experiences and reflections strike a chord with you.

Having suffered the effects of workplace stress, one of my big missions is to empower other people to self-calm and manage their own stress and anxiety.

I'm holding a free masterclass called "How to Unlock Your Inner Calm" on 17th March, where I'll be sharing the simple but powerful practices that I do every day to ground myself and increase my emotional resilience.

This episode marks the first anniversary of the Wellness Unwrapped podcast – and I’m so grateful to have you joining me as a listener.

My guest for my anniversary episode is not a famous doctor or an author. Alice Hendy is someone who you won’t have heard of - but who I think deserves to be heard the world over.

The topic of this episode is very different from what you may have come to expect from this podcast. Though it’s not something that I’d ever planned on tackling, I honestly believe it’s the most important and urgent conversation that I’ve shared to date.

Alice throws a spotlight on something that is tearing more and more families apart: suicide.

As you’ll hear, internet searches for how to kill yourself are soaring during this pandemic – and our young people are particularly at risk. It's something I'm acutely conscious of, following a spate of suicides amongst my son's fellow students at university.

Alice’s brother, Josh took his own life on 25th November 2020. He was 21 years old.

Following Josh’s death, Alice has made it her mission to ensure that more support is given to individuals in mental health crisis who are searching for harmful content online.

She has leveraged her expertise in IT and cyber security to create Ripple Suicide Prevention. Through Ripple, someone in the depths of despair will be urged to seek the mental health support that they deserve and need, in a way that works best for them.

Although this conversation is deeply moving, you'll hear that Alice is also sharing an inspiring message of hope that lives can be spared.

You can find out more about Alice's work here, plus how to contact her and how to help with crowdfunding.

My conversation this week is a very deep dive with one of the wisest people I’m privileged to know. Ruthie Portnoy is a Couples Therapist, EFT Practitioner and Life Coach. She’s also mother to nine kids!

Ruthie's dream is to empower individuals and couples to find their best selves and to enjoy a more loving, rich and meaningful life.

She is the person I turn to whenever I have a struggle that I need help with. She’s the person who helped me when I got very stuck in grief when my Dad passed away. She is a teacher, a guide and an inspiration to me - and to countless others. I hope you’ll be as inspired by her as I am.

Have you ever thought of yourself as a leader? Well, this super-juicy chat with Terri Creeden will make you think differently!

Terri is exceptionally wise - and also unsparingly honest about how she recently "cracked" when she neglected her own self-care.

She explains how - although we may not see ourselves as having a leadership role - we are actually all leaders in our own homes. She shares how essential it is that we engage in self-care so that we have the capacity to help our family members to fulfill their own potential in life.

Terri is a certified executive coach, trainer and facilitator. Her most passionate work is in the areas of personal presence, self-worth and authenticity. She believes in embracing slowness in our lives and living and leading with courage.

She co-founded Grounded Parents Group with Sanela Lukanovic as an act of rebellion, after seeing how difficult it is for parents to find a space for their own self-development.

Their approach is less about knowing the latest tricks and tips of how to parent, and much more about self-awareness and developing confidence and connection to our own inner wisdom and strength. They lead transformational online programmes based on the powerful research of Dr. Brené Brown - to help you be the parent you always wanted to be.

I loved this chat so much and I think you will too. Let me know what you think!

Such a privilege to have Janey Lee Grace as my guest this week.

15 years ago, it was Janey's book "Imperfectly Natural Woman" which first opened my eyes to how to care for myself and my family.

In this episode, Janey shares how to look great without overloading our body with toxic chemicals.

We also chat through keeping our homes clean - cheaply and effectively - without resorting to chemical nasties that make us unwell.

Plus, Janey shares a very candid account of why she knew she needed to change her relationship with another toxin - alcohol.

I love Janey's "imperfect" approach to living more naturally - it's accessible, practical, fun and full of humour too.

Here's a bit more about her:

Janey Lee Grace is a presenter on BBC Radio 2 and an Amazon number one best-selling author. She runs the hugely successful health and wellbeing website www.imperfectlynatural.com.

She also hosts the podcast Alcohol Free Life. In 2019, she gave a TEDx talk "Sobriety Rocks - Who Knew!".

Janey runs a community focused on holistic health and wellbeing www.thesoberclub.com, which advocates an alcohol-free lifestyle.

Janey's brand new book is called "Happy, Healthy Sober".

I'd love to know what you take away from this conversation, so do get in touch.

It's my privilege to bring you my conversation with a doctor who has been an inspiration to me ever since I met him at his New York practice a few years back: Dr Frank Lipman.

In this eye-opening conversation, Dr Lipman shares his refreshingly holistic, accessible view of how we can all feel better.

I love the fact that he fuses ancient wisdom with cutting-edge science - and that his approach to health has been coloured by cultures across the world.

Dr Lipman is recognised the world over as a pioneer of integrative medicine and functional medicine (or what he calls "good medicine"). He's also the best-selling author of six books - his latest book is The New Rules of Aging Well: A Simple Program for Immune Resilience, Strength and Vitality.

I gained so much from chatting to Dr Lipman - and I think you will too.

As someone who has always classed herself as "rubbish at art" and "not very creative", it's been a revelation to me to witness the transformative effects of getting involved with creative activities.

Not only can getting creative help to massively boost your self-esteem and self-image...it can even stop you bingeing on chocolate!

I met my guest, Paul Pickford, when I pushed myself way, way outside my comfort zone by attending a life drawing class last year. Paul was the teacher at that class - and he's been an inspiration to me ever since.

Paul is an award-winning illustrator and animator based in Salford. As well as contributing artwork for books, comics and magazines, he has devised and led visual arts workshops - including working with young people, families, adult and community groups.

Paul has worked with wellbeing charity Start Improving Lives and as part of Greater Manchester Mental Health Services Recovery Pathways team.

Check out this fantastic video which shows how creative activities can transform the lives of people who are struggling with their mental health.

Ever feel like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? Or that you're just too, too busy to stop and take some time out for self-care? This episode is for you!

Have a listen to me chat with my yoga teacher, Karen Goldman, who's managed to help herself to slow down from her go-go-go corporate job - and helped me to slow down too.

Karen is passionate about bringing the powerful benefits of self-care and simple yoga practices to the whole world - rather than just Instagram-worthy "yoga types" who tie themselves in knots (most definitely not me!).

As someone who is stubbornly unbendy, I love Karen's refreshingly warm, down-to-earth, compassionate and laughter-filled approach.

Whether you've ever tried yoga or not, this episode will give you simple, practical techniques that you can try today (from home) to feel calmer and more peaceful. No equipment, flexibility or experience needed!

Whether you're suffering from anxiety, insomnia, back problems or just an overload of stress, these techniques can make a real difference to your life.

Welcome to Season 2 of Wellness Unwrapped! In this introductory solo episode, I share a lightning bolt moment that hit me while journalling by a Scottish loch over the summer.

It’s no exaggeration to say that this has been the single most life-changing insight I’ve had this year - and it has already lowered my stress levels considerably. I’m really hoping that me taking the decision to do less and put my own wellbeing first will inspire you to do the same!

If it does, do get in touch to let me know. I'd love to hear from you.

The last episode in the first series of Wellness Unwrapped is a golden, heart-warming (and often hilarious) chat with one of the most straight-talking women I’ve ever met – the fabulously relatable Lynda Sackett.

Lynda lays bare her struggles with her husband after his heart attack; her battle with depression and anxiety; and her reliance on alcohol to numb feelings she didn’t want to feel.

Her story of “getting her mojo back” is utterly inspiring - and a testament to the healing power of being part of a compassionate, non-judgemental group, where we feel heard and understood and can be completely ourselves.

The transformation to our health that flows from being in a supportive community is astonishing. I challenge anyone to listen to this conversation and not come away feeling that empowering people to get healthy in groups is the quickest and most effective way for us to recover our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. As Lynda says: “Something magic happened in the group.”

Here’s the video I made with Dr Aseem Malhotra, author of The Pioppi Diet, on Lynda saving her husband, Mike, after his heart attack:

Most of us know that junk food is bad for our health. So why do we still fall victim to eating it? In this week’s episode of Wellness Unwrapped, Dr Austin Perlmutter blows the lid off the way insidious marketing and other factors in our modern environment push us to make decisions that eat away at our physical, emotional and mental health. It's essential for us to be wise to this if we’re to have any chance of swimming against the tide of chronic ill health.

Dr Austin Perlmutter is a board-certified internal medicine physician and New York Times bestselling author. His focus is on helping others to improve their decision-making and their quality of life. He is the co-author of Brain Wash and writes for Psychology Today on his blog, The Modern Brain.

You probably have a first aid box for cuts, grazes and burns. But wouldn’t it be great to have a first aid tool for stress? Well, now you can have a tool like that - and you can draw on it any time you need it, for free.

In this week’s episode, Gwyneth Moss shares an incredibly simple, quick and effective way for you to find your way back to calm. It's called Traffic Lights Tapping and it's very easy for you to learn.

I’ve been fortunate to have trained with Gwyneth over the past few years in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and I couldn’t imagine living without it. Tapping is a huge part of my self-care tool box and, after listening to this episode, you’ll have it in your tool box too!

Gwyneth teaches people how to use tapping to help themselves, to help others, to help children and even to help animals. Tapping has opened up an endless journey of curiosity for her to which she brings her degree in physics, northern common sense and a lifetime of exploring the world and its people.

Gwyneth's demonstration of Traffic Lights Tapping starts 21.50 minutes into this episode. You might want to download Gwyneth's how-to guide before then so that you can follow along as she taps (it helps to see where she's tapping) - or you can watch this section on the Youtube video if you prefer.

You can find out more about Gwyneth’s work and contact her here:

You can find full instructions on how to do the Traffic Lights Tapping here:

Even before "lockdown lethargy" became a thing, most of us were suffering from an epidemic of low energy.

In this episode, I share two, super-simple ways that you can transform your energy levels - from this week.

I also spill the beans on what happened earlier this year when I got hit by fatigue when out on a date (with myself!)...and how my mood took a dive when I tried to mask my tiredness with a sugary coffee.

How often do you dwell on what’s “wrong” with you? If you’re like most of us, it’s probably pretty often.

Research shows that if we take the opposite approach – ie focusing on our strengths – we become happier, more resilient and more successful.

In this week’s episode, I share with you a simple way to shift your focus to what’s right with you. Knowing what your top character strengths are will empower you to put your gifts to good use and feel better about yourself.

You can take the free VIA survey here to discover your own unique character strength profile (NB. There’s a version for kids too).

Most of us know about the damage caused to our health by air pollution…but we tend to be less aware of the invisible toxins hiding right under our own roof.

Before lockdown hit, I had the privilege of sitting down with Dr Tom O’Bryan when he was over at the Birmingham Functional Forum as guest speaker. (Thank you to the wonderful Izabella Natrins for setting this up for me).

Dr Tom is an internationally admired speaker and author, focusing on food sensitivities, environmental toxins and the development of autoimmune diseases. He’s considered a ‘Sherlock Holmes’ for chronic disease: he teaches that recognizing and addressing the underlying causes that activate an immune response is the map that shows us the way to better health. His latest book is called You Can Fix Your Brain: Just 1 Hour a Week to the Best Memory, Productivity, and Sleep You've Ever Had.

In this conversation, we talk through the effects of the invisible toxins that are all around us – and, most importantly, how you can take steps to protect yourself and your family.

To get you started, Dr Tom has created three guides to help you detox your home. Each reference guide focuses on a different room in your home. You can download them here: https://thedr.com/demystifyingdetox/

I think we can all agree that the topic of health can get a bit, well, heavy.

Amidst all the advice on diet and exercise, we tend to overlook the role that daily doses of joy play in our health and wellbeing.

That's why I'm delighted to chat to my friend and mentor Gillian Elizabeth. We talk about easy, low-cost and practical ways that we can inject a bit more joy and fun into our daily lives.

Gillian has led a very colourful life...and she considers all the ups and downs as work in progress towards her "PhD in life experiences". She combines this with her nursing, grief and loss counselling, coaching, mentoring, art therapy, reiki and celebrant qualifications.

Gillian has developed her business Emotional Prospects to offer personal development for children, men and families in a very creative way - either on a one-to-one basis, in a family group or in the workplace.

You can contact Gillian at: http://emotionalprospects.co.uk/

You can contact me at: https://peppermintwellness.co.uk/

We talk about creativity in this episode - and a massive inspiration for me in tapping into my own creativity has been In The Moment Magazine, which I also write for regularly. In The Moment Magazine has its own wonderful podcast that I highly recommend (it's just scooped an award for health and wellness podcast of the year!). I've recorded a couple of episodes for them: one is on achieving calm through creativity and the other is on listening to your body. As a health coach, I've learnt that fostering hope is really effective in supporting people to change their lifestyle - much more so than scaring them or hectoring them!

My guest this week is Dr Jen Unwin, a Consultant Clinical Health Psychologist who has spent her professional life interested in the role of hope in chronic disease and how it can be used to bring about behaviour change.

We talk about:

· The power of hope in giving people a greater sense of wellbeing and a longer, healthier and happier life.

· Sugar addiction (Jen is open about her own past struggles with sugar.)

· The amazing transformations we see when we get people together in groups – how finding your tribe is the most effective way to help people to reclaim their health.

Jen is winner of the British Psychological Society Karen Ehlert Lifetime achievement award in clinical health psychology.

Her insights teamed up perfectly with Dr David Unwin’s interests in bringing about drug-free Type 2 diabetes remission. For the past six years, they’ve been running group sessions in primary care to achieve just that. This combination has also worked on-line and 450,000 people have so far completed the low carb program they helped to design for https://www.diabetes.co.uk./

In our crazily busy lives, most of us don’t ever pause to ask ourselves who we really are and what’s important to us. Often, we’re so caught up with trying to please everyone else that we forget completely about asking ourselves what WE want out of life.

That’s why I believe that this conversation is so crucial to share. In today’s episode, I chat to Penelope Silver - an intuitive coach, reiki Master and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner. Her goal is to inspire people to live an intentional, purposeful life on their own terms.

Penelope talks openly about the emotional trauma she experienced after the collapse of her toxic marriage. Among many topics, we touch on people-pleasing, the limiting beliefs we pick up from our parents – and how to follow our own path rather than someone else’s. We also discuss the power of EFT and reiki in helping to heal emotional trauma.

Reiki is increasingly being used in clinical settings, such as hospitals and hospices. You can read more about this here: https://iarp.org/reiki-clinical-setting/

You can start to explore what’s important to you by downloading Penelope’s values and life purpose workbooks which accompany this episode. Download them here:

For my very first episode of Wellness Unwrapped, I’ve chosen a topic that’s very close to my heart: the body’s innate ability to heal itself. This is the podcast I wish I’d had access to 15 years ago when one of my kids was diagnosed with a chronic bowel condition and put on a merry-go-round of medication over several years.

My guest is Dr Sarah Davies, a GP and functional medicine specialist. She’s passionate about empowering her patients to investigate the root causes of their health problems. She works with nutritional therapists and health coaches to create individualised treatment plans to treat chronic health problems which often don’t respond to standard medical therapies. She has a particular interest in treating autoimmunity and chronic fatigue and has used functional medicine to heal her own health problems as well as those of hundreds of her functional medicine patients.

In this conversation, Sarah shares how her eyes were opened to the body’s natural wisdom and how she became fascinated with the body’s ability to fix itself - if we just give it what it needs to thrive. She talks about functional medicine’s emphasis on optimising our health so that we can feel as good as possible – rather than focusing solely on treating disease.

Whether you (or a loved one) has a chronic disease or just want to feel more vibrant, Sarah’s message is one of universal empowerment: that, with a few simple changes to our lifestyle, we can all feel better than we currently do.

Welcome to Wellness Unwrapped! I’m Suzy Glaskie – a health coach, mum of three and former burnt-out PR boss - and this is the trailer for my new podcast, launching end of February 2020.

Every week, I’ll be lifting the lid on the (often bewildering) topic of wellness. I’ll be sharing straight-talking conversations with inspirational people, many of whom have personally helped me to unwrap my own wellness. I’m on a mission to share real-life, accessible ways for even the busiest of people to feel better. This podcast will empower you to unwrap more of your own wellness, so that you can reclaim your energy - and flourish.

But first up, what the heck is “wellness” anyway? We’re bombarded with the word every time we pick up a magazine or look at our social media feeds. Wellness here. Wellness there. Wellness everywhere. But what exactly is wellness? And how do we – as busy, overstretched and over-committed as we are – get ourselves some of it? Have a listen to this trailer and find out what it is we’re aiming for!
