We are starting a project with teenagers and will watch as they imagine what their lives would have been in the 1800s in County Tipperary, Ireland. The cover art is the Old Guard in the middle of the town of Clonmel.

We had some adventures whe inboxing Christmas gifts. I learned I must do better when logging my Moleskine items. The family learned old tech like Chromecast works well with the new UHD TV. My daughter learned fake nails and greasy hands can hurt an iPhone's screen. And I am very satisfied with our new slow cooker, a too-sharp Wunsthof knife, and some entertaining induction lights. I work with a lot of creative people on the Clonmel Digital Campus and know they have high autonomy needs. I've also figured out some of their best innovation is a collective result. My students need a little consideration from the Irish government so they might be able to earn more than 4500 euro a year without losing their education grant. Some of my students work behind the bar on weekends. Other students who are based in Dublin are baristas in the coffee culture of Ireland. Some analysts believe Irish coffee shops have reached a saturation point. Nearly all of the Sunday papers in Ireland covered the law suit Brenda Romera has launched against the University of Limerick, alleging UL damaged her reputation concerning her running (or not running) UL's Masters programme in game design. Another creative woman, Sinead Gleeson, has released a collection of essays called Constellations: Reflections from Life. I'm reading it at the moment and highly recommend it. I'm starting to eat less red meat, even though I feel less patriotic making that change in my diet. The kids really enjoy fine cuts from our local butcher but they also hear the United Nations saying the single biggest thing people can do to limit harm to the environment.

Thinking about many of my favourite walks in Ireland. Up Croagh Patrick in the fog. Along the eroded cliffs from Greystones to Bray. Shuffling miles after work from the DART. Getting my first hiking boots for treks up the Sugarloaf Mountains. Enjoying the colour purple in the Knockmealdown Mountains. Seeing topless Germans on Achill Island. Smelling lovely aromas at night in centre city Dublin. Lifted by the smell of hops in Kilkenny's laneways. Sucking on raspberries along the boreens of County Tipperary. Walking through Burgagery Lands in Clonmel on the way to work. And marveling at long boats in the River Suir while walking the Blueway.

Bernie experiments at @omaniblog's request by using iOS11 to hear both audio and video content before repurposing that content as MP3 uploads to Anchor. No Waves were harmed during this experimentation with Limor, Anchor, Converter+ and Voice Record Pro (in cover art).
I've been listening on Anchor since its first release on iOS and I miss the social audio dimension that attracted me to the Anchor platform. So nowadays, I'm spending most of my time on Spreaker (where I'm topgoldie) and on http://limor.ie (where I'm http://twitter.com/topgold). I remember Anchor's heyday, with daily content from @askavie and @ileane and although their voices can still be found online, they come to my ears via my podcatchers. We shared several country homes with our four American cousins. The four kids insisted upon having swimming pools so http://maryborough.com obliged right away. Brilliant sunshine greeted us during our four hours among the wildlife at http://fota.ie but a high point of the trip for the kids had to be meeting their cousins, seeing our two rehomed cats, and hanging out in our attic. The kids enjoyed crawling around historic places like Cahir Castle in the cover art. A significant part of our good times happened because of homes we found on http://airbnb.ie and self-catering easily cut seven hundred euro off the cost of this week-long Irish holiday. But no matter what, if we're hosting friends in Ireland, we're recommending the Cork International Hotel as their point of departure. We've always had a top class experience with the staff and the child-friendly facilities there.
Mia (10) has created a small Moleskine notebook full of numbers and letters related to Ireland. The little book is designed to help Mia's cousin navigate numbers and letters that might be different than what Star sees in her native Oregon.

My personal experience is that fewer people are listening on Anchor since v3 dropped onto their handsets.

Avoiding meat and dairy is the single biggest way to reduce my impact on Earth. Research published in the journal Science shows even the very lowest impact meat and dairy products still cause much more environmental harm than the least sustainable vegetable and cereal growing. "A vegan diet is probably the single biggest way to reduce your impact on planet Earth, not just greenhouse gases, but global acidification, eutrophication, land use, and water use", says Joseph Poore, at the University of Oxford, UK.

From the Air Safety Aircraft Accident Report: The Cessna 208B aircraft took off from runway 27 at Clonbullogue Airfield (EICL), Ireland, at approximately 14:13 hours local time. At departure, the occupants on board were the pilot, who was seated in the left-hand cockpit seat, a passenger (a young child), who was seated in the right-hand cockpit seat, and 16 parachutists, who occupied two bench seats in the main cabin. The aircraft was operating the fifth parachuting flight that day and had been operating each weekend at the airfield since 21 April 2018. The aircraft climbed to FL130 and permission for the drop was received from Dublin ATC. The pilot reported to ATC at 14:34 hrs advising that the drop was complete and the aircraft was in the descent. The pilot made contact with the Clonbullogue Airfield to advise that the aircraft was on left base. No further transmissions were received from the aircraft, and when it did not arrive as expected, the airfield personnel attempted to establish radio contact, but were unsuccessful.
The aircraft had impacted nose-down in boggy ground located in a forested area, approximately 2.5 NM to the north-west of the departure airfield. The impact site was compact, with minimal damage to the surrounding trees. The impact was such that the front section of the aircraft, forward of the main wheels, was buried in bog. There was a significant quantity of aircraft fuel in evidence at the site.

Thinking about the Starbucks Story while listening to Howard Schultz tell it and Eirc Conger narrate it. This inspirational story fit inside one of my 150 mile journeys along the back roads of Ireland so I'm glad the audio book is an abridged version of the real text. I discovered Starbucks in Europe because I had left the States before Starbucks became the third place for many of my friends. I'm glad Howard Schultz took the leap into making a company I now use to pour my brew when I'm meeting up with creatives. Although I can often find better coffee poured in smaller cafes, I keep coming back to the baristas I've met who are good enough to wear the green apron. I like the sense of teamwork I feel when inside Starbucks. After hearing how Howard Schultz cultivated this brand experience, I'm comfortable as I continue using my Starbucks Loyalty Card.

Since the late 90s, I've shared music, poetry, audible books, and the sound track of my life. I've also taken down things when requested. But I've never been threatened with a DMCA take down or had my ISP pull the plug on my URL.
Unless global warming has its say, at least 10 years will roll by before Ireland gets another three day snow holiday.

There are 15 billion devices wired up to one giant circuit that already exceeds our brains in complexity, and it's doubling every few years. Its total storage is about 600 exabytes. Each time we click a link we train the global mind.
Look at a satellite photograph of the earth at night. This embryonic very large thing has been running continuously for at least three decades. What will it create in the next 30 years?
