We realize some of you may have short attention spans. But when we've got something to say, we say it. Even if it takes an hour and a half to do it. That's just how the world works sometimes.
This week's episode of the podcast, however, is shorter, but still manages to pack in all kids of stuff. Some of the stuff include the recent Joss Whedon and Gina Carano controversies, more WandaVision including Chris' new theory on what it's all about, continuing discussion of how show business works, how most plots of TV series are derived from OG Star Trek episodes and the career of Nicholas Cage.
Speaking of Mr. Cage, Chris's pick this week is a recent movie, starring the man himself, called Willy's Wonderland. In it Cage players a drifter who must survive the night by doing battle with animatronic creatures at a Chuck-e-Cheese-like establishment. It's pretty crazy.

Welcome back to a brand new episode of The Flickcast. Episode 423: Here Comes the Juice!
This week Chris and Joe dive right back into it. First up is WandaVision where they provide insight and analysis of episode 5 of the Marvel/Disney+, where the show might go from here and that very interesting character who popped in at the end. They've got some pretty wild theories, but they just might turn out the be correct. We'll know soon enough.
Then, the boys shift gears to talk about the last two episodes of Amazon Prime's amazing series The Expanse. Some of the discussion focuses on the penultimate episode of the season with the rest all about the season finale. They also talk about the direction, writing, cinematography and effects of the show, some of the standout acting performances during the season as well as the departure of a series regular and the death of a major character in the season finale (Spoilers).
And yeah, with the actor leaving The Expanse, Chris and Joe do get into some of the reasons why he might have been let go, other examples around the industry and, yes, a bit about "cancel culture." Sorry, it had to be done.

This week's episode is another Deep Dive where we go, well, deep into the body of work and life of a particular creator. This week's subject is Director and Producer Ridley Scott. whose career has been quite interesting, to say the least.
His somewhat eclectic roster of films including Alien, Blade Runner, Legend, Back Hawk Down, Thelma and Louise, Gladiator and The Martian demonstrate his keen sense of style and storytelling prowess. His films have been lauded as groundbreaking and stylistically influential to a generation of filmmakers that followed. He's also won numbers awards, including the Academy Award for Best Picture for Gladiator. In short, he's pretty badass.
As with our previous Deep Dive, this episode was recorded and released first for our Patrons, but now we want all of you to hear it too. It's just that good.
