I know this sounds boring, however if you have a website, you're marketers should have been coming after you to get an SSL certificate, which means that your website is secure, about half of the sites on the internet right now are not secure and Google has been threatening for a couple of years that they are going to start popping up warnings if you don't have this taken care of.

If your business is not being found, who's is? The answer to that is, all of your competitors. There's a finite amount of people out there looking for your services, and you need to get out there and compete.
The internet feels scary to many business owners, its sort of like back in the day when you were buying radio ads; you didn't know how the radio works and that puts a little bit of extra pressure on, you just have to buy anyway. Also, it's not just the ads, but also understanding and knowing how to track whether or not those are working. That's an art form in itself. I don't know how to put this politely, but if you have a business and you're not online, at this point it's absolutely ridiculous.
We will share tips to help business owners get their business on the internet and the first start is Google My Business. https://www.google.com/business/

The internet has uprooted everything small businesses used to know about marketing, sales - you name it! I'm here to make sense of this chaos. I want small businesses to feel confident in what they are doing and why they are doing it, just like they did 15-20 years ago. To be confident, businesses have to know what has changed, what has stayed the same, and what they can do about it. Everything a business owner should know.
Chauncey: Yeah, I can. First of all, outbound links are links that link away from your website to somewhere else. Their main question is, do they make a positive impact?
Joe: As a business owner, I would wonder this, and I answer this question to my clients often. I don't want people to leave my website; I want to stay on my website and buy from me. So is it helpful to link them away from my website somewhere else?
Chauncey: And at the risk of sounding rude, ultimately, as a business owner, the little things that you want are irrelevant. What you want is success.
The answer is it does help you. You have a primary goal and that is for your customers to give you their money either by purchasing your goods or buying your services. Having a primary goal implies that there is a secondary one. The secondary goal of businesses is for your visitors to go about their merry way across the internet. They used you as part of the highway.

We're going to launch Project Hometown soon so we can start working on these projects for local businesses. There are around 17,000 registered businesses in Shasta County. The goal is to get all 17,000 online the way their customers want to buy. I looked online, and I can say only about a thousand Shasta County businesses online. That means around 16000 businesses aren't online. The 1000 local business websites I found were not easy to find and were not set up to succeed, and we want to change that.
In this segment, Joe talks about utilizing Facebook ads to reach customers and the ABC's of small and local businesses to become more successful.

Joe and the web team introduce "Being Found" marketing - A revenue growth strategy companies employ to increase sales and decrease wasted opportunity – by removing roadblocks in the buyer’s process. Being-found marketers identify the buyer’s decision points, as opposed to an abstract rigid sales funnel. They make sure they meet the buyer’s expectations at each point, making it more likely buyers will complete their purchases. This method requires companies to understand their buyers’ decision points and the areas customers find important, and then move swiftly to make adjustments.
