Leap Castle is allegedly the most haunted castle in Ireland. Originally inhabited by the O'Carroll clan, this historic site has seen more than its fair share of murder, betrayal and tragedy. Join me on my first unscripted episode as I narrate this two-part special.
Every culture has some character who represents Death, like the Grim Reaper. Both parts of this episode are focused around the Irish legend of the Dullahan, known in other cultures as the Headless Horseman.
Welcome to episode 1 of Chilling Irish Ghost Stories. In the first half of each episode, I will narrate a true ghost story set in Ireland. In the second half, I will tell a ghost story of my own creation. It's impossible to imagine that the idyllic grounds of Ardgillan Castle, Co. Dublin, would be marred by a tale of suffering. The Lady of the Stairs contains all the classic markers of an ill-fated love story: a terrible accident, a desolate widower, and a wife who refuses to move on.
