Summary - Jesus had over 100 names of God, to choose from when talking about his and our relationship with God. But instead, he chose Abba Father.

The passage can be found in Luke 19, with the action taking place just days before Jesus' arrest. So what is it about this wee man and his large but that means Jesus goes out of his way to help him. What if you met Jesus face-to-face and he knew not just everything about you, but everything you could be as well? Well, that's exactly what happens to Nathanael! In this talk Paul walks us through this amazing moment captured in John chapter 1. The question is, how much do you want to invest?
What we give our lives to can seem a waste to others. But we know that for what we love, we pour out our lives over, anointing what we value the most. Why would someone value Jesus and waste their lives to anoint him?

In Jesus' third resurrection appearance we have the miracle of no fish, the amazing 153 fish, the strange instructions of Jesus. And yet none of this is that important. Listen as Pete unpacks John 21 to find out what really is important.
The resurrection of Jesus changes everything. It is something for us to experience and take part in, but how do we do that?

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.” (Romans 6:5) – What does it mean, really, in practice, for a follower of Jesus to “die” – and why would I want to???
Chapter 19 of John's gospel focuses on the crucifixion. Pete in this sermon draws out 6 different meanings of the cross from John's Gospel. If we were trying to be clever we could say this sermon is about the theological significance of the Cross.
What is God doing at this moment in history with those who believe in him? He is inviting us to return our first love. For it is only in his love for us and ours for him, that we experience all he has for us.
Are you one of his disciples?" - the heat is on as the narrative in John moves on from arrest to trial - "Who is on the Lord's side, who will serve the King, who will be his helpers, other lives to bring?
Today Laraine talked about Jesus: Who is our First love? She dwelt on ideas about Jesus being fully God and fully man, and how Jesus went to cross in the faith that God would raise him. So just like Jesus we have faith in the one who loves us, and in faith say all the yeses to Him.
Hannah Miles speaks on Psalm 139 and how it can be a love letter from us to God and God to us. We explore how He knows us so deeply and, through Jesus, we can know Him too.
The Greatest Prayer – As we move into John Chapter 17 we arrive at the largest most vivid example of what Jesus actually did in His own prayer life; we witness a moment of intimacy between Son and Father – What will He ask for? And what will be the result?
"First, Love: Do you Believe?". Sam continues our series "First Love" looking at the Gospel of John. In John 16 vs 25 - 33 we get the big reveal and Jesus tells the disciples what is available to them and us all. He asks the question, "now do you believe?".
When Jesus explains what’s coming, the disciples are slow to understand; if they’re the ‘A-Team’ it stands not for awesome but average, the point being that Jesus calls ordinary people like you to share in the adventure of bringing His Kingdom on earth. We can step forward in faith knowing He can use ‘even me’ because He is faithful to His promises.
What stops us from receiving the presence of God. We find out in John 16, and how the Lord wants us to have more of his Spirit and life in our lives.
Even in the midst of a weary world, there is always the possibility for joy.
Being vulnerable, and grateful, we can enter into all the Lord has for us and be replete with joy.
Are you wandering away from Jesus as Truth and leader of your life? Or is your heart set on rescuing those who are? Jesus’ heart is set on rescue for all people.
Pete asks us to be more like the Brownlee brothers as opposed to Victor Meldrew in our penultimate study in the book of James.
Paul takes a look at what James has to say about patience and suffering, how when things go south we need to wrestle with what's going on, and we need to stick with Jesus.

Laraine talks about faith being a window through which others can see Christ. It is our faith that leads to action, doing what God calls us to because we love Jesus.
Pete talks about DHAL. He also talks about the risk of judging people based on what is on the outside. Instead, we need to look at our own insides and see if that mirrors the love and mercy we have been been given by our Father in heaven.

We were created to be comforted, fed and watered by God. But often we drink and eat from things that are bad for us? How do we discover and experience what provision and experience God has for us?
What if this moment in history was a gift from the Lord, to become the Christian you always wanted to be? David in Psalm 23, tells us three key things to access who we could be in relationship with God. Psalm 23:1.
David has real people after him, and they have real swords. He has every reason to fear. But for some reason, he isn't afraid. The question is why? It's not because he believes that if he runs into the tabernacle, somehow if the baddies come in after him, an Indiana Jones-style kind of scene will unfold, where the ark of the covenant will zap all the bad guys. That’s not what he is thinking. Listen to Pete unpack Psalm 27 to find out why David isn't afraid.
When life does not go as we planned or wanted we can easily think something is wrong. But what if that was not the case and instead such moments were an opportunity to learn that things need to end so that the Lord can bring us new beginnings.
Laraine speaks on Psalm 18 about God’s wisdom, justice and love, and how he leads us through life’s challenges.
Out of all the questions that we might ask each other, there is one that is the most important. It is a question the Lord asks of us to be able to help us the most. With Psalm 62 we discover what the question is.

In this talk, continuing our Psalms ‘Reset’ series, Brian Durrant searches scripture to open a window to see afresh the depth of love and compassion our Heavenly Father has for each of His children.
So many of us live life on the surface, pre-occupied by what is happening to us and around us. We think changing our circumstances will make us feel better and then allow us to be closer to God. We see from Psalm 73 that God wants to work from the inside out. By changing who we are, he can then move into our circumstances with the power and transformation we long for.
Psalm 62 says "I stand silently to listen for the one I love" (Passion Translation). However, why is it so hard to be silent and how do we do it? Guest speaker Mollie Paterson talks about a particular type of silence and why we spend much of our waking moments trapped in the outer circumference of our lives rather than entering into the inner richness of the inner life.
Psalm 136 is the Groundhog Day Psalm, but I wonder by the end of Pete's talk will you know what it is all about?
Laraine shares about how to reset what you believe about yourself by thinking about Who God is, what He has done and who He has created. Are we willing to say “yes, Lord”, and take time to wait for Him? Can we believe in His strength to uphold us in our weakness? And do we accept our worth as His children who are made only a little lower than Himself?
COVID19 has for many brought months of struggle, not least with our own sense of well-being and mental health. Laraine Sztypuljak explores John 12 where Mary anoints Jesus’ feet with perfume in our series on the book of John. What were the sources of motivation for the characters who were present in the story - Judas, the Chief Priests, Martha and Mary?
Recognising that where we look for hope is actually resulting in motivation fatigue, Laraine explains how surely we should trade these sources in for the one true hope, in Jesus.
