3/3/19 - The very knowledgeable Charlie Yin, of the 88 Restaurant Management Group family, teaches us all about Sake at Hiro 88. We started with a generic well sake and worked our way in to premium and dessert sake. All of us were completely surprised and the difference in flavors and aromas among the different types. Episode 65 - Recorded 7/8/18 - Hosts Brian & Britt are joined by Jake, a local bar owner, to review a new brewery. While they drink Blueberry Moon and Peach Kombucha from Nebraska's first kombucha brewery, Fisheye Kombucha, they discuss the health benefits of drinking this beverage made from fermented black tea. They also discuss how to obtain a healthier lifestyle from an alkaline diet and a balanced way of eating. To end the program, they decided to also review Peach Vodka, from Lonely Oak Distillery, mixed with lemonade.
Episode 64 - 7/8/2018 - Hosts Brian & Britt go on location to Lonely Oak Distillery in Earling, Iowa to interview owner Pat Hoffman. They talk about how he got started, what it mean to be a "Seed to Spirit" distillery, pitfalls, whats to come, and many other topics. They get to sample their Steeple Ridge Bourbon (due out July 2018) in various forms: un-aged, half-aged, and fully matured. They also get to sample their North 40 Vodka along side another popular brand. And they finished off with a refreshing glass of their Peach Vodka in lemonade. Yumm!
