Season 1, Episode 8 Port of Kimberling

The Port of Kimberling Marina and Resort has been a family-owned and operated marina since 1978. Ralph and Mary Swanson acquired about 100 wet slips in the Schooner Creek area, then referred to as “Kimberling Marina”, where we now store many of the larger boats. Three years after purchasing Kimberling Marina, the Swanson family purchased “Highway 13 Boat Dock” on the other side of the finger, where we have smaller wet slips and the dry stack facilities. In 1988, the Port leased the eastern portion of the campground, containing approximately 190 acres, from the United States Army Corps of Engineers. That area was expanded by another 190 acres after the Corps turned over the rest of the campground, creating the lease area we have today. In 1994, Randy and Kelly Swanson purchased the gas dock from Ralph and Mary to help share the work of running the marina. The Swanson family continued to run and grow the marina to over 750 wet slips and 240 dry stack spaces. In 2004, Randy and Kelly Swanson acquired all of Port of Kimberling Marina and spent the next 14 years expanding the offerings and amenities available to include more than 1300 slips (wet slips and dry stack), a 39-room hotel, 9 cabins, park areas, ski boat, pontoon, and WaveRunner rentals, and boat sales.

In 2019, Kelly and Randy’s son, Ryan, and his wife purchased the Marina and Resort. Along with fantastic partners who sublease areas within the Resort, including houseboat rentals, water sports rentals and sales, Sea Tow, and a floating restaurant, Port of Kimberling Marina and Resort offers the largest selection of activities and amenities on Table Rock Lake. The family’s love for facilitating great memory-making at the Lake fuels their drive to deliver awesome customer experiences.
