"We just talk about boy band Jesus." Nick Freitas breaks down what biblical masculinity actually is and the five pillars every Christian man is called to build: spiritual, emotional, physical, intellectual, and professional.

Host Jeremy Stalnecker sits down with Nick Freitas, author of THE MAN BOOK, host of Making the Argument, husband of 27 years and father of three, for a conversation about why men quietly walked away from the church, and what it takes to bring them back.

Nick doesn't blame the culture and he doesn't hand out a 12-step program. He goes to scripture: what does God actually require of a man? Out of that comes the five-pillar framework he teaches, spiritual, emotional, physical, intellectual, professional, with the receipts for each one. Along the way: why "touchy-feely" church drove him off before special forces brought him back, why hyper-masculinity is the same error in the opposite direction, why he tells young men to get a "violent hobby" (and the caveats that go with it), what it means to be the patriarch of a multi-generational family, and why every phase of a man's life has a job attached to it, including the last one.

"Please don't ever make me bury a friend." For 24 years, police chaplain Chuck Price has shown up for cops on the worst days of their lives and 95% of the job is just sitting in a car with them, long before the worst day ever comes.

In this episode, host Jeremy Stalnecker sits down with Chuck Price, police chaplain, FBI-experienced, and executive director of Wixom Ministries, to explain what a first-responder chaplain actually does. It's not invocations and benedictions.

It's a "ministry of presence": riding along, earning trust one shift at a time, so that when the line-of-duty death or the worst call comes, you're already someone the officer trusts. Chuck unpacks why he "can't carry their burden" (only walk with them), how he shares faith without ever pushing it, why patient presence beats forced evangelism ("If I'd pushed Jesus on you 15 years ago, would we even be here?"), and how to spot, or become, a chaplain who shows up for the right reasons.

If you're a first responder, a police family, or someone who wants to serve the men and women who serve us, this one's for you.

"I spent my whole life fighting. I never learned how to suffer." Former pro fighter and SWAT officer Sean Kennard on a biblical view of pain and suffering and what a year of debilitating illness has taught him about God.

In this episode, host Jeremy Stalnecker sits down with Sean Kennard, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, professional fighter, and former SWAT officer, who got severely ill a year ago (likely an antibiotic injury), lost nearly 50 pounds, and can no longer eat without his body turning food into "poison." A man who built his life on being a fighter is learning, for the first time, how to suffer well.

Sean and Jeremy work through what Scripture actually says about pain and suffering: why suffering is promised, not optional (John 16:33); the lament Psalms that never resolve (39 & 88); Job's honest anger; Romans 5, how suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope; and the God who is BOTH sovereign AND suffering, a high priest who has been there (Hebrews 4). You'll hear why God cares more about your sanctification than your comfort, why you can't "earn" your healing, and why hope, not the absence of pain, is the line between being crushed and enduring.

If you're in a long season of suffering that isn't turning the corner, illness, grief, a marriage, a wayward kid, a life that didn't go how you planned, this conversation is for you.

"If you can't control your mind, when you get to the end of this, you will not be the same person." - Dr. Scott Peterson's father-in-law, a physician, told him that on the day he started chemo. Scott would later survive stage 3 colorectal cancer AND a stroke that hit him at 30,000 feet on a Delta flight to Atlanta and learn that real Christian resilience is built BEFORE the crisis hits, not during it.

In this episode of The March or Die Show, host Jeremy Stalnecker sits down with Dr. Scott A. Peterson, pastor at St. Luke's Methodist (Oklahoma City), former chaplain, former VP of Development at One World Health, and author of Choose Your Best, to break down his 4-Stage Resilience Model: Mindset, Intentional Actions, Community, and Discipline.

Scott shares the moment a blood clot in his carotid artery shut his body down on the exit row of a Delta flight, the three warnings his physician father-in-law gave him before chemo, the prayer that radically changed his life in a San Diego bedroom at age 40, and why most Christians get resilience wrong by leaning on "thoughts and prayers" instead of pre-deciding who they'll be when the crisis comes.

If you're a Christian man trying to build real mental toughness, not motivational fluff, but the kind that holds up when your body is failing, this conversation will change how you train your mind.

A thousand times a year, someone sits across the table from Jeremy Stalnecker and says: "I've tried everything. If this doesn't work, I'm not going to make it." How is a gentle and lowly Jesus the answer to that?

Dane Ortlund, pastor of Naperville Presbyterian and author of the runaway evangelical bestseller Gentle and Lowly, sits down with Jeremy to break down the Jesus most Christian men have never been taught. The Jesus who, as Spurgeon noted, only once told us what was in his own heart. The Jesus whose default is mercy and whose anger always requires provocation. The Jesus with nail-scarred arms who, according to 1 Corinthians 12, feels your trauma more acutely than you do.

This is one of the most theologically rich conversations on the channel - anchored in Matthew 11:28-30, with stops in Hebrews 1, John 14, Exodus 34, and 1 Corinthians 12. If you've ever pictured Jesus as a watered-down, decaffeinated, domesticated version of God, this conversation will reset that picture.

Ryan Ackerman did three combat tours with 1st Battalion 5th Marines, the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the first push into Fallujah in 2004, and a return to Ramadi. Then he came home.

"It was a roller coaster ride without a seatbelt."

In this conversation, Ryan tells Jeremy Stalnecker, his brother from the same battalion, what it took to come back from absolute rock bottom. The lying to himself. The running. The career on paper that was hiding everything underneath.

And the moment he finally stopped.

This is a conversation about what every man avoids until he can't anymore: the truth about who he is when the uniform comes off, the title fades, or the season of life ends. And why the only way back is through.

"I would have died without them." - Sean Kennard

Sean Kennard has been the strong guy his whole life, professional MMA fighter, SWAT Officer, "the most dangerous man in the room." Then a serious illness flipped the script in the past six months, and the man who'd spent 36 years being the one who carried other people's mats found himself on the mat needing his community to carry him.

In this conversation with Pastor Eriek Hulseman of Church Project, Sean opens up about being on the receiving end of the brotherhood he used to provide and Hulseman, who oversees 60+ house churches and has spent 15 years building decentralized Christian community, lays out why men who try to do life alone don't make it.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
• Why "lone-wolf Christianity" fails every man eventually, and the biblical pattern from Genesis to Acts
• The "roof breakers" story (Mark 2 / Luke 5) and why it's the model for masculine friendship
• Eric's gut-punch question to Sean: "Were you the mat-carrying guy because you didn't want to be ON the mat?"
• Why proximity matters more than depth and why you can't be a real friend from 35 minutes away
• Marks of healthy Christian community what real biblical brotherhood looks like in practice
• The decline of manhood in the modern church and how the house-church model recovers it
• The three eras of a man's life (and why your 60s, 70s, and 80s might be your best decades)
• Practical first steps: how to find (or build) a house church in any city

FEATURED:
Pastor Eriek Hulseman, Church Project, Texas. 15-year house church pastor, oversees 60+ house churches, 23-year marriage to Laura, four kids.

What happens when the uniform comes off and the identity you built underneath it goes with it?

Marine Scout Sniper Dagan Van Oosten sat down with Jeremy Stalnecker, his platoon commander from the 2003 push into Iraq, and opened up about the moment a counselor asked him a question that hit "like a bolt of lightning"

"If you died tomorrow, what would your tombstone say?"

In this episode of The March or Die Show, Dagan walks through his journey as a Marine sniper in 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, three-plus years instructing at Quantico Sniper School, 14 years in federal contracting, training the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team, and the painful realization that the institution he'd given everything to was never going to love him back the way he loved it.

He gets honest about the marriage he almost wrecked chasing the mission, the brother-in-law (Justice Bartelt) the family lost in Afghanistan, the fear of leaving the uniform behind, and what it took to reset his identity around three words: husband, father, friend.

Whether you're an active-duty service member, a first responder, a veteran in transition, or anyone whose job has become their identity, this conversation will give you a roadmap for the chapter after the chapter you can't imagine ending.

"When you can't give clear, concise communication, sometimes it's on purpose. It's because I don't want to be held accountable for what I say." - Justin Atherton

Bestselling author and retired law enforcement veteran Justin Atherton returns to the March or Die Show to make the case that politeness is one of the most dangerous habits in modern leadership. Drawing on 20 years as a detective, SWAT trainer, and training lieutenant, and the statement-analysis training he used in interrogations. Justin walks Sean Kennard through the WAVE method from his book How to Get to the Damn Point: a framework for stripping the hedges, equivocations, and stop-action verbs out of your communication so the people who depend on you can actually trust your word.

The conversation gets pointed: why "I'll try to be faithful" lands the way it does with a spouse, why your team can hear when you're protecting yourself instead of leading them, and the daughter story (and the seven-hour command staff meeting) that finally pushed Justin to write the book.

Justin Atherton is a 20-year law enforcement veteran, detective, SWAT operator, and training lieutenant, turned leadership communication consultant, public speaker, and TED talk presenter. His book "How to Get to the Damn Point" is a #1 bestseller on Amazon.

The world feels more chaotic than ever, wars, political division, broken communities, and an endless firehose of social media noise. So how do you lead your family, your team, or your community without drowning in that anxiety yourself?

In this episode of March or Die, Jeremy Stalnecker walks through a biblical framework for leading well during times of global anxiety. Whether you're a parent, a business owner, a pastor, or simply someone others look to for direction, this episode gives you practical, grounded principles you can apply today.

Why leading small in light of the big is the most important thing you can do right now

Key Scripture referenced: Matthew 24:6, Isaiah 26:3, Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Thessalonians 4:11, John 16:33

Can you be a Christian and kill the enemy in combat? Black Hawk Down Army Ranger Jeff Struecker has been asked this question a lot and in this episode of March or Die, he gives his answer to Jeremy

Jeff Struecker survived the 18-hour Battle of Mogadishu, outnumbered 100 to 1 with no air support, no armor, and no way out. He was 100% certain he would die that night. But instead of fear, he had supernatural peace. When the battle was over, hardened Rangers were waiting to ask him about Jesus.

Jeff went from elite Army Ranger and special operations operator to military chaplain, and now serves as a senior pastor. In this conversation, we unpack his faith journey that started at 13, the battle that changed everything, the Christ-and-combat question he's answered thousands of times, and what it looks like to march when everything in you wants to quit.

Every man is one choice away from stupid. Jim Ramos, bestselling author and host of the #1 Christian men's podcast Men in the Arena, sits down with Jeremy Stalnecker to talk about the guardrails every man needs to protect his marriage, why Gen Z men are filling churches in record numbers, and what it looks like when Christian leaders fall.

Jim shares a story about the time the Holy Spirit quoted John Wayne to him in the middle of a counseling session and the lesson that came out of it changed the way he approaches every relationship in his life. He also reveals what's happening on college football fields across the country: 90 athletes praying in the end zone before games, teammates baptizing each other on the 15-yard line, and a generation of young men who are hungry for something real.

Jim's new book "Guardrails: 10 Boundaries for an Unbreakable Marriage" releases April 7. https://a.co/d/082Q1M7V

Spiritual warfare is real and the armor of God is how you fight back. Most people see the battles in their life — marriage, finances, health, addiction — but they never recognize the spiritual battle behind it all. In this episode of the March or Die Podcast, host Sean Kennard sits down with Pastor Dave Edwards to explain what the Bible says about spiritual warfare, why your suffering is NOT coming from God, and how to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6) to fight the enemy you can't see.

Dave Edwards has spent 25+ years as a traveling Bible teacher, authored 35 books, and now leads Church Project as a pastor. Together, Sean and Dave break down the spiritual warfare scriptures — Ephesians 6, Matthew 12, Daniel 10, and the book of Job — to reveal how the kingdom of light is at war with the kingdom of darkness, and your role in the spiritual battle. If you've been praying and wondering why God allows suffering, this episode will change the way you pray, fight, and believe.

Whether you're a first responder, veteran, or believer going through a spiritual attack — this conversation will shift your perspective from fighting FOR victory to fighting FROM victory.

🔥 IN THIS EPISODE:
- What does the Bible say about spiritual warfare? It's real, not metaphorical
- Why does God allow suffering? He doesn't. Jesus came to oppose it
- Is this spiritual warfare or just my own bad decisions? How to tell the difference
- The armor of God explained Ephesians 6 broken down piece by piece
- How to pray spiritual warfare prayers with authority (not "if it be your will")
- Spiritual attack: How the kingdom of darkness is organized against you
- Jesus vs. the enemy 4 rounds (Desert → Ministry → Cross → Resurrection)
- The book of Job explained what it ACTUALLY means (and what it doesn't)
- Daniel 10:13 Why your prayers aren't answered immediately
- The power of community, brotherhood, and deliverance prayer
- Fighting FROM victory, not FOR victory

📖 KEY SCRIPTURES:
- Ephesians 6:12-18 (Armor of God / Spiritual Warfare)
- Matthew 12:25-29 (Kingdom of Light vs. Kingdom of Darkness)
- Daniel 10:13 (Why Prayers Get Delayed)
- Colossians 2:15 (Jesus Defeated the Enemy on the Cross)
- 1 John 3:8 (Jesus Came to Destroy the Works of the Devil)

When war dominates the headlines, parents are left asking an important question: How do we talk to our kids about it? In this episode of March or Die, Jeremy Stalnecker shares practical and biblical principles for guiding young people through confusing and frightening global events.

Drawing from his experience as a Marine who lived through the wars following 9/11, Jeremy explains why moments of global conflict can become powerful opportunities for parents to teach their children about courage, faith, and moral clarity. Rather than avoiding difficult conversations, parents can use them to help their kids understand fear, the reality of evil in the world, and the responsibility we have to stand for what is right.

This conversation explores how parents can alleviate fear, explain why conflict exists, and demonstrate a faith-filled response when the world seems chaotic. Jeremy also discusses the importance of teaching children the difference between necessary and unnecessary violence, why standing against evil matters, and how faith in God provides stability even in uncertain times.

Ultimately, the goal is not just to help kids understand today’s headlines, but to prepare them for the battles they will face in their own lives. If you are raising the next generation in a confusing world, this episode will help you equip them with truth, courage, and faith.

What happens when the war goes on without you?

Retired Army Master Sergeant Marcus McClain shares his journey from rural Indiana to multiple combat deployments, being wounded in Afghanistan, and facing the unexpected identity crisis that followed leaving the military. For nearly twenty years, he was “Sergeant Mac.” His purpose was clear. His mission mattered. His tempo was relentless. But when he found himself in a hospital bed in Germany realizing the war was continuing without him, something shifted.

In this conversation, Marcus opens up about the dangerous trap of tying your identity to a title, rank, or profession. He shares the struggle of transitioning out of the Army at 38 years old and discovering he didn’t know who he was outside of the uniform. Success and drive masked deeper issues. Anger, restlessness, and burnout began to surface. Eventually, he had to confront a hard truth: maybe the problem wasn’t everyone else. Maybe it was him.

We talk about faith, humility, and the two words that have reshaped his life: grace and rest. For a high performer who has always led from the front, learning to slow down and let God lead has been one of the hardest battles yet. Marcus also explains how rucking became more than fitness it became a tool for mental clarity, spiritual focus, and intentional space to hear from God without distraction.

Whether you’re a veteran navigating transition, a leader in the corporate world, or someone who feels lost when the mission changes, this episode will challenge you to separate who you are from what you do. Your job may be important, but it is not your identity.

What does it really mean to be a sheepdog in a world that feels increasingly unstable?

In this powerful episode of March or Die, Jeremy Stalnecker sits down with Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, author of On Killing, On Combat, and co-author of On Spiritual Combat, to discuss the psychology of combat, the spiritual battle facing our nation, and the responsibility of men and women to stand as protectors in their homes and communities.

From his experience as an Army Ranger and West Point psychology professor to his pioneering work in “killology,” Grossman unpacks:

  • Why preparation, realistic preparation, determines survival
  • The difference between PTSD and post-traumatic growth
  • The hidden epidemic of sleep deprivation and its connection to suicide
  • Why fasting builds spiritual and mental resilience
  • What it truly means to be a “sheepdog”
  • Why prayer is the ultimate weapon in spiritual warfare

This conversation bridges combat psychology, spiritual discipline, and practical leadership for men who refuse to drift and choose instead to march.

If you’ve ever worn the uniform, or carry the responsibility of leading a family, this episode is for you.

What happens when you finally achieve everything you worked for only to realize it didn’t give you peace or purpose of life?

Former Navy SEAL Chad Williams opens up about the moment he reached the pinnacle of success and found himself more empty than ever. In this conversation, Chad shares how becoming a Navy SEAL, his version of “gaining the whole world”, left him spiritually broken, searching for meaning, and ultimately led him to a life-changing encounter with faith.

From the loss of his mentor Scott Helvenston, to the brutal realities of combat, to the internal war between revenge and redemption, this episode dives deep into purpose, masculinity, suffering, and what it really means to live for something bigger than yourself.

This is not a motivational talk. This is a hard, honest conversation about identity, faith, legacy, and why achievement alone will never satisfy the soul.

What happens when a professional athlete, police officer, and MMA fighter is suddenly forced to "crawl" forward? For the last several months, Sean Kennard has been fighting a battle with no name. Losing nearly 50lbs to a mystery illness while doctors offer no answers.

In this raw and honest episode of the March or Die show, Jeremy Stalnecker and Sean Kennard pull back the curtain on the "sacred space" of suffering that most of our culture tries to avoid at all costs.

The hardest truth? A faith that has not been tested is a faith that cannot be trusted. We often believe God is only good when He answers our earthly pleas, but true intimacy is found when everything else is stripped away and all you have left is the ability to cry out to the Lord. If you are currently in a season of uncertainty, learn why clarity is not required for faith and why the lack of it might be exactly what you need to please God.

“The design is that men would be protectors, leaders, providers” yet our culture seems determined to erase that calling through a war on masculinity.

In this March or Die episode, Jeremy Stalnecker and Sean Kennard expose the spiritual and cultural war on masculinity, trace its roots back to Genesis, and show why fatherless homes, rising violence, and confusion about gender roles are no accident.

More than analysis, they deliver a roadmap: accept God-given responsibility, lead with sacrificial humility, surround yourself with brothers who sharpen you, and start right where you are imperfect but present.

Whether you’re a husband, dad, single man, or a woman who cares about the men in her life, you’ll find truth, encouragement, and practical steps to stand in the gap. Watch, share, and join the movement to build men who march forward instead of staying where they are and dying.

Unfortunately, we don't all handle these transitions well. My guest on today's episode of the March or Die show is Army Veteran and author Greg Drobney who has spent his post military life helping transitioning service members understand life on the other side of military service. This is an extremely helpful and insightful episode. Even if you have not served in the military, the principles and strategies shared will help you throughout your own life transitions.

It is a privilege to have as my guest on The March or Die Show, Stand Up Comedian Jeff Allen! I have enjoyed Jeff's comedy over the years (he has a great special on Dry Bar Comedy), but have only recently heard his personal story of addiction, a marriage headed for divorce, and the incredible power of a relationship with Jesus. This is an interview that provides hope for those who are struggling and a wonderful picture of what God can do when we yield our lives to him. We have been told that the two topics we should never discuss are politics and religion. But is that true? Of course not! Despite the fact that the loudest voices in society tell us to keep our thoughts and opinions to ourselves, we need to learn how to have meaningful, important discussions without hating those with whom we disagree. Today and The March or Die Show I have the privilege of interviewing Corey Nathan who is the host of the "Talkin' Politics and Religion" podcast about the best way to have important conversations. This interview was both practical and helpful and one that you can put to use today. Don't be afraid to have the hard conversations-just have them in a way that allows everyone involved to benefit.

What does it really mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Those that have been around church for any length of time, have undoubtedly heard the term or even been a part of the process called "discipleship". But what does it really mean to be a disciple and how does that apply to our lives today?

My guest on The March or Die Show today is Dennis Allen. Dennis has a diverse background having served as six-time Chief Executive Officer specializing in “turnarounds” for Wall Street-backed corporations. Dennis works and speaks with businesses, universities, churches, and conferences focusing on leadership and discipleship. Dennis serves today on boards, in business and charity leadership roles. As well as his efforts in churches of all sizes – megas, mids, and startups – as an elder, deacon, and teacher. A combat-rated Air Force F-15 fighter pilot, and an alumnus of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.

Throughout his career Dennis has been involved in a number of churches and has noticed a disturbing trend: Many Christians and regular church attendees are either unable or unwilling to share their faith outside of the walls of their church! This has led to an alarming percentage of young people walking away from the faith that was a part of their growing up lives. These observations along with a mountain of research supporting these findings led Dennis to write the book, "The Disciple Dilemma."

This is an extremely important conversation for every follower of Christ and for anyone seeking to understand how we can TRULY impact the world around us with the Hope of a relationship with God.

All of us, to one degree or another, have experienced the often crippling emotions of fear and anxiety. Togher these can not only prevent us from moving forward, but can steal our ability to live the life God created us to live. Even knowing that, though, we don't always know how to address them and continue to make progress in our lives and relationships. My guest on today's episode of The March or Die Show, Dr. Roger Hall, helps us to understand the important role that mental discipline plays in addressing negative thoughts and emotions. This is an EXTREMELY helpful conversation that you will want to share with others.

One area that we do not focus on enough is the mental health challenges of those working in the First Responder community. Dealing daily with traumatic and potentially dangerous situations, years of shift work and mandatory overtime all contribute to high levels of anxiety, depression, often suicide among those who keep us safe. Thankfully, these challenges, as well as resources and solutions, are finally being recognized and increasingly prioritized by police and fire departments. I am thankful to be able to have that conversation on todays episode of The March or Die Show with my good friend Danny Coon.

Danny is a retired Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy who has turned his focus to the many challenges facing our First Responders. Through his blog, new book, and regular media appearances he is not only raising awareness, but pointing to solutions for those who are struggling. How do we move from a place of Guilt and Shame to a place of Freedom and Redemption? And what does Ultra Running have to do with it? And, more importantly, do I have to be an Ultra Runner to experience Freedom and Redemption? Obviously we do not experience redemption through running, but there are lessons that can be learned about overcoming Guilt and Shame when we commit to doing hard things. Redemption comes through a relationship with Christ, and continuing in that freedom requires a commitment to continual forward movement regardless of the obstacles in front of or the traumas behind us.

Such a great conversation with todays guest Kyle Kraeft. Kyle is a top level Ultra Runner with an incredible personal story of struggle and redemption. This episode, and his testimony, will challenge and encourage you while pointing to a hope found in Christ.

How do you move forward when it would be easier to stay where you are and die? This is the question that I ask, and attempt to answer, every week on The March or Die Show as we discuss principles for moving forward when it feels like your world is falling apart. That is why I am excited to share this week's interview and guest with you. Today I am honored to interview Author, Texas State Representative, and Business owner Ron Simmons. While Christianity was once respected in our culture, even among those who did not claim to be Christians, we are now living at a time in history where Christianity is viewed negatively at worst and with suspicion at best! To tell someone that you are a regular part of a local church may very well cause that person to think less of you than if you had said nothing at all. In his book, "Life in the Negative World", my guest, author Aaron Renn, talks about this new period in the history of believers and helps us to understand how we can move forward in spite of living in an increasingly anti-Christian culture. While it is important to understand how we got here, and we do talk about that in this interview, Aaron provides a hopeful path forward as we learn how to navigate an ever-changing world. This is a great conversation that you do not want to miss!

How do you move forward when the Prayers That You've Prayed Go Unanswered? We know that when we are struggling in life we are supposed to go to God in prayer. I believe that one of the reasons so many people struggle to move forward in their lives is because of a lack of forgiveness. We have all been hurt. That, unfortunately, is a part of being human. We cannot avoid being hurt, but when we learn how to forgive those that have done the hurting we are able to move forward into the life that God has created us to live. There is a freedom that comes from forgiveness and yet so many, hanging on to what was done to them, live in a bondage of their own creation. How Do I Forgive? One of the big lessons that I have been learning over the last few weeks is that comparing myself to others is an empty exercise. When I see what others are doing it can, if I am not careful, make me feel as though I am not doing enough. Marching forward requires an understanding of the direction that God wants us to go. I believe that we often get stuck because we just aren't sure what step we are supposed to take next. It's not that we don't want to move forward-it's just that we are not sure that we are moving in the right direction!

The key, if we are going to March Forward in a meaningful way, is to spend time with God so that we understand the direction He wants us to go. But how do we do that? How do we "Spend Time With God?" This week on the "March or Die Show", we talk about the "What", "Why", and "How" of spending time with God. My hope is that this episode will help to equip you to know and follow God.

We all have a story to tell! Unfortunately, most of us want to keep the darkest, and most helpful, parts to ourselves. While this is understandable, there is something helpful to our healing as well as the healing of others when we are able to talk about the difficult things that we have experienced while pointing to the hope on the other side.

My guest today, Jason Sautel, has both lived and modeled this. A retired Oakland Firefighter, Jason has taken the darker parts of his life and used them as a way to challenge and encourage others. Through books, podcasts, and now an upcoming movie, he continues to help others understand that, "Jesus is all You need." This conversation was helpful to me, and I know it will be a help to you as well.

What do Revival, Prayer, and Ultra Marathons all have in common? Until we are willing to do HARD WORK that matters, we will never fully understand who we are or experience the work of God in our lives and Nation. We understand that prayer is a crying out to God and Revival is a work that He alone can do, but we have been called to do the hard work of praying fervently and standing up for those things that matter to Him! And Ultra Marathons? How many of us have never pushed ourselves physically and therefore cannot conceive of pushing ourselves spiritually in a difficult culture?

Today's guest on The March or Die Show is Dr. Malachi O'Brien. Dr. O'Brien is a Pastor, Evangelist, National Speaker and holds the current world record for most consecutive marathons! We often talk about how to RECOVER when our world falls apart and how to deal with the obstacles once they present themselves. But what should be in place in our lives to PREVENT our world from falling apart? I am grateful for God's grace and for the fact that the failures of our lives do not need to be final. There is always hope even after the darkest moments of life. What I have learned in my life though, is that it is better to stay out of the darkness by putting the right pillars in place before things get out of control.

Today, I am honored to have as my guest John Davis. John is a former Army Soldier, retired Police Officer, and currently works with The Mighty Oaks Foundation. The story of John's life is a true testimony to the truth that God will work in any life that is willing to surrender to him. I always appreciate hearing John talk about how he has gotten to where he is today, and in this conversation he dives deep into lessons about resiliency that he has learned looking back over the course of his life. Whether you are doing well and want to continue to move forward or struggling to see the hope, this episode is for you.

All of us know what it is like to be overwhelmed with life. Maybe they are the unforeseen obstacles or overwhelming trials or even the traumas of our past-these things and more can push us to the point that we conclude it would be easier to simply stay where we are and die. But how do we move forward when we find ourselves in these times of life? How do we put one foot in front of the other when it seems like the best we can do is simply hang on?

This week on The March or Die Show I want to talk about the reason we March and the power of the decision to move forward. Whether you are a long-time listener to the show or this is your very first time, my goal is that this episode will challenge and equip you to KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

When we consider successful people I think that we could all acknowledge that no two are exactly alike. Some are smart while others are average. Some have huge advantages and others start their lives with very little. There is one common element though that ALL successful people have-The ability to Consistently Show Up!
This is why I so often say that Persistence is a Superpower! So few people have it but for those that do, they will accomplish more than they ever thought possible.

This is what I want to discuss with you today on The March or Die Show. How can we learn to be people that consistently show up, and what makes it so powerful? My goal today is to encourage you and give you hope as we talk about the one superpower that we all have access to.

What is the Gospel and Why Does it Matter? There is so much confusion about what the Gospel is and why it matters practically, from day to day, that I wanted to do a whole show just exploring this question. The reality is that unless you have the right foundation, you will never be able to March forward in a meaningful way. You may do the best that you can do, but that is all that will ever happen. We have to understand the Gospel and then live that out in our daily lives. Whether you are a Christian or not, my hope is that this episode will be a challenge and encouragement in your life!

How can you live a life of balance? Is it even possible? With so many voices screaming for our attention, how can we do everything we are supposed to without sacrificing the things that we really care about? Balance is something that we often talk about but, I believe, do not really understand. Thankfully we have a great example that we can look to and find five key principles for evaluating and adjusting in the most important areas of life. This is a helpful episode of The March or Die Show that you don't want to miss!

How you see yourself, and equally as important what you believe about yourself, impacts every area of your life. You always act out of your belief so it is absolutely essential that you believe the right thing? The problem is this: there are very real lies that we allow ourselves to believe that keep us from living out who we were uniquely created to be.

In his book, "Weapons of Mass Deception", today's guest, Adam F Jones, helps us to understand what some of these "deceptions" are and how a right view of God allows us to defeat them and move forward in a powerful way. Adam is a U.S. Army Veteran, Speaker, Leadership Consultant, Business owner, Author, Husband and Father, and offers great insight into this very important area.

What makes the decisions in your life? Is it FAITH that pushes you forward or is it, as is the case with many, FEAR holding you back? While most of us would say that we want to let faith make the decisions, we know that so often the most important decisions in our lives are driven by a fear of what may or may not happen. What does it look like when we are allowing fear to make the decisions and what can we do to get to the point where that voice moves to the back and we are able to confidently march forward? On this episode of The March or Die Show we look at how the fight to March when it would be easier to Die is really the fight between Faith and Fear.

There are few things as powerful and at the same time misunderstood as prayer. We know that the Bible tells us to pray and even says that we should go boldly before our heavenly father. What we struggle with is understanding WHY we need to pray if God knows all of our needs and WHAT we should expect when we do pray. This week on the March or Die Show I spend a few minutes talking about how we should pray as we look at some great scriptures that give us clear direction in this very important issue. If you are a Christian you have access to God through prayer. Let's look at how we can pray with confidence according to His will.

When we lose someone who has had an impact on our lives, it can be difficult to know how to respond. We may feel a sense of loss, but also a sense of dread and uncertainty about what to do next. It is important to remember that these people who have had an impact on us have made a difference in the world, and it is important to honor them for that. This week on The March or Die Show we will discuss how we can live lives that honor those that have made a difference in ours. Instead of just feeling loss, we need to learn how to turn that loss into the motivation to fill the gap they have left behind.

What is the craziest story in all of the Bible? There are actually quite a few crazy stories in the Bible, but I believe that this one is right near the top. Today on The March or Die Show, we are going to look at the story of a Lady who killed a General with a tent peg (which is enough of a reason to listen), while also learning how to move from an observer to a person of action in our own lives. It is easy to stand back and watch all that is happening in the world, good and bad, but there comes a time in all of our lives when we need to, as author Robert Luis said, "Reject passivity, accept responsibility, and lead courageously." How do we do that? We learn from one of the toughest women in the Bible.

Often when we think about pushing forward, "March or Die", we think that we need to forget the hurt or pain that we may be experiencing. We think that if we just keep going, or grinding, or driving, or whatever term is currently popular in motivational videos, then we can pretend that everything is fine even when it isn't. While I am all for pushing hard and refusing to quit, that is not the same thing as failing to address the very real challenges we all experience. In fact, the only way that we can continue to "March", is by confronting those challenges so that we can keep moving forward. Today on the show I want to spend just a few minutes talking about what this looks like. How do we deal with the obstacles, and in fact learn and grow from them, while also putting one foot in front of the other? Let's look at three words that make this possible.

Why do some people seem to handle the transitions of life so well while others fall apart? Regret can be a powerful emotion that can keep us from moving forward. We all experience regret to some degree in our lives, whether it be regret for something we have done in the past, or for something that was done to us. Regardless of the source, regret can become overwhelming and can have a negative impact on our ability to do what God has called us to do.

When we allow regret to keep us in the past, it can be like a chain that pins us down and holds us back. We can become so focused on what happened years ago that we don't look forward and we don't move forward. We can regret the things we have done to others, the decisions we have made, or the trauma we have experienced. We can even regret missed opportunities, such as in relationships, business, or financially. The big question is "How do we overcome Regret"?

Today on the March or Die Show I offer ten steps you can take to overcome and begin moving forward with hope and purpose.

How do you live out your Faith in an environment that is not exactly "faith affirming"? Is it possible to be both a consistent Christian and an effective workplace leader? Even though we often choose to believe that we need to either be good at our job or be an outgoing person of faith, with the right tools and the character to apply them, it is not only possible, but we have BEEN CALLED to do both! Today's guest on The March or Die Show is someone who understands this from a place of life experience. Command Sergeant Major Demetris Pruitt has spent his life leading at a very high level in the United States Army, but has also made a priority of publicly and faithfully living out his faith. And, in order to equip others to be consistent in their faith walk, he has recently written a book that helps to lay the foundation for a consistent Christian life. If you are someone who has struggled to live out your faith in the workplace or simply need to better understand why you believe what you believe, this episode will be a great encouragement. While we can come up with so many reasons to stop moving forward in our lives, the truth is that many of these reasons exist only in our own hearts and minds! We look at our past and conclude that we are too broken or feel that we don't DESERVE to move forward because we consistently make bad decisions. Today on The March or Die Show, we look at a man in the Old Testament who had a past that could have been an episode of Jerry Springer, made a really bad decision even after God decided to use him, but made an impact on his world IN SPITE OF his past and bad decisions. I love looking at many of these Old Testament characters because they give me hope. What I learn is that if I will just keep moving forward I can make an impact as well. From this little known man in the Bible we learn some incredible lessons.  I hope that you will be encouraged to stop making excuses and begin to move forward.

"Life just isn't as it should be!" Have you ever said that to yourself? Maybe you have even said it today! Although we do not always acknowledge that we are in a Spiritual War, most of us do understand that there is something very off in this world. Perhaps, as my guest today explains, we need to realize that we are in a wilderness between the perfection of the Garden of Eden and the perfection of the New Jerusalem. And, as we travel through this wilderness, there is a very real enemy that seeks to destroy all that we hold dear.

My guest today is Dr. Brian Haynes who is an author and speaker and serves as the lead pastor of Bay Area Church in League City Texas. In his new book, "War in the Wilderness:Fight For Your Family When Life Isn't As It Should Be", Brian explains the nature of the spiritual battle that we are in as well as the victory that can be found when we yield our lives to God. Using personal illustration and an examination of scripture, we find hope and purpose when life seems dark and out of control. This is a very helpful episode of The March or Die Show that you will want to share with others in your life.

So often when we think of Success, we think that it will be a straight line. We start in the beginning and if we just keep moving eventually we will get to the top. Whatever the top is. Real success, though, is moving forward through a life that includes ups and downs while focusing on what God has set in front of you today. It can be easy to "miss the trees for the forest" as they say, but we need to be engaged in every moment while continuing to press.

My guest today, "The Voice" Season 18 winner and recording artist Todd Tilghman, embodies the March or Die principles by reflecting a sincere desire to follow God forward through every stage and all of the ups and downs of life. Whether success in family, business or Music, Todd knows what it is to get up and do the hard work. He has described it this way: "It's passion, and closed doors, and excitement, and disappointment, and work. Lots of work."

One of the major reasons we decide to stop moving forward is fear. It may be fear of the unknown or fear of what others will think or even the fear of how difficult moving forward may be. If we are going to continue to March when it would be easier to stay where we are and Die, we need to learn how to push fear aside and move forward courageously. Today on The March or Die Show we learn from a man in the Bible who had to be told by God four times in a row to be courageous, what it takes to move forward with confidence even when we don't feel so confident. How do we Move Forward Courageously? Let's figure it out together on The March or Die Show.

We learn alot about ourselves and about life when we experience the overwhelming. This is why it's so important to put ourselves in difficult situations BEFORE someone or something else does. We need to do hard things so that we can learn how to navigate the inevitable challenges of life and It's always better to learn how to March when it would be easier to Die before those become the only two choices. In this week's episode of The March or Die Show I talk about several of the lessons I learned as I completed a 100 mile Ultra Endurance Race. How do we address the issue of Suicide? We all know what it is in life to struggle. To have darkness come into our lives because of circumstances created by us or others. In our rational moments we can identify this darkness as temporary and find a way to move out of the darkness and into the light. But what do we do when we can't? When the Darkness takes hold and moves us to a point of Despair? What do we do when we think that ending our life is the only way out and the best option for those around us?

Suicide has become a pandemic in our culture that must be addressed. In spite of the FEELINGS of despair there is HOPE and HELP if we know where to look. This week, on the March or Die Show, I take some time to confront this topic in an attempt to put some context around the issue of Suicide while providing some practical steps to those who have considered or are considering self-harm. This episode is not exhaustive but can serve as a starting point for those who are struggling right now.

Please, if you are putting yourself in danger, get help IMMEDIATELY. Call the National Suicide Hotline at 800-273-TALK (8255). For those who have not YET found themselves in a place of physical danger but who allow thoughts of self-harm to pervade their thoughts, use this episode as a place to begin getting the help that you need.

What is Leadership, why does it matter, and who can Lead? With so much talk about leadership it is easy to believe that a Leader must be someone else with skills that only a gifted few possess. When we get a hold of the right definition though, we understand that we were ALL created to lead! This week on The March or Die show we discuss a definition of leadership that can be applied in every area of life whether you have influence over a few or many. Leadership is the need in homes, communities, and countries and, when properly understood, allows us to live out our created purpose.

You are not broken! In spite off what you may have been through, are currently going through, or keep dragging with you from the past, you are not broken. Trauma is a part of the human condition and when you realize that it is the TRAUMA and not YOU that is broken, you can truly begin to move forward. This week on The March or Die show, we take a look at what the Bible has to say about trauma and how we can move forward in victory.

What is Biblical Masculinity and why does it matter? Sadly, even in the Christian community so many get this wrong. Understanding Masculinity from the perspective of Creation equips men to lead their homes, their churches and the culture around them and when they are doing it well, each of those areas is better. This week on The March or Die Show I have the privilege of discussing not only the definition of Masculinity but the impact strong men have on the world with my guest Kyle Thompson.

Kyle is the founder of Undaunted.life. The mission of Undaunted.Life is equipping men to push back darkness. They do this by providing content that leads men to forge spiritual, mental, and physical resilience. Kyle is also the host of Undaunted.Life: A Man's Podcast, which has reached the top 10 and top 15 on the Apple Podcasts and Spotify charts respectively. Check him out at www.Undaunted.life.

We all want to experience momentum in our lives but somehow think that momentum equals speed or is reserved for the fastest and most capable among us. Momentum, whether on a trail, in business, or in relationships, is not about speed. Which is great and means that any of us can, if we are willing to put in the work, begin to develop momentum in our lives. But what do we do if we don't have it and why is it so important? This week on The March or Die Show we discuss The Power of Momentum and how to begin developing it as we move forward.

So often the reason that we decide to stop marching is because we feel alone. We look around and don't see support and in our moment of loneliness we start to believe that even God is no longer with us. I love Isaiah 43 because we are told that God is ALWAYS with us. This week on the March or Die show we talk about the power of the presence of God. Listen and share with someone that needs to know they are not alone!

"What do you do when you don’t know what to do? How do you move forward when you feel stuck or overwhelmed? How do you regain focus when your mind feels like it is spinning a hundred miles an hour?" You may have asked these with the desperation of a person who feels like they just can’t go on! Truthfully, much of life is spent unsure of what to do next. We want to have the right thoughts and take the right actions, but if we are honest, we don’t know how to do either! This week on the March or Die Show, we are going to discuss the importance of Doing the Work when little else seems to make sense. Life can be difficult, but it does not need to be complicated. We live in a social media driven world that tells us, without actually telling us, that we must be perfect! But truthfully, the perfection we see is a facade that hides what's really going on in most people's lives! That's why perfection as a goal is a losing proposition. The only way to experience peace and joy in this world is to focus, not on perfection, but on truly being the person you were created to be. This week I have the honor of sharing the microphone with my wife Susanne as we discuss the danger of pursuing perfection and the goals that carry us forward.

We like to say things like, “discover your purpose”, or “find yourself” while emphasizing the importance of doing only those things that make us happy. Even as Christians we make discovering our purpose about pursuing things that make us feel good which elevates us to the place of both the recipient and source of purpose. But here’s the problem with misunderstanding the true source of purpose: If purpose is only about what makes us happy, or causes us to feel good (a very difficult thing to define), then when the emotion changes, so will our sense of value and purpose. But there is another way. On this week's episode of The March or Die Show, we discuss how to understand God's Purpose for our lives so that we can move forward with confidence knowing that we are living the life we were created to live.

How often have you allowed something in your past to keep you from moving forward? You live as though you do not deserve a relationship with God or His blessing on your life because of decisions that you have made, people you have hurt, or just the simple belief that you are inadequate. The good news is that when we really understand both Grace AND Mercy, we begin to realize that we can move forward. Not because of us but because of God! This is an episode of the March or Die Show that I hope will be both helpful and encouraging.

What impact would men in the United States be able to have on the move to end abortion if they truly understood what it means to be Biblical Men? A lack of Biblical Masculinity has far reaching negative societal consequences and often results in allowing to continue what men who follow Christ should stand against.

In this episode, my guest, Jeff Durbin of Apologia Church and Radio, breaks down what it means to be a Biblical Man, and the impact that men can have on the abortion debate in our country. Jeff has been on the frontlines of the abortion abolition movement for many years and began the national organization, End Abortion Now, from Apologia church. This is an extremely important and helpful conversation.

One question that consistently comes to my mind when looking at the brokenness in so many lives and relationships, and more broadly in our culture, is "Where are the Men?" The Bible does not promise that life will be easy, but it does assign the leadership role for moving through difficult times to men. This also doesn't mean that there aren't very capable women leaders, only that the RESPONSIBILITY for leading in our homes and culture was given by God to men. This week's episode of March or Die is the first of several episodes discussing the impact on the world when men lead well.

In this episode of the March or Die show I am joined by Pastor Rob McCoy to discuss the influence and actions of Christians in secular culture. So often Christians ask the question, "Why don't we have more influence?" Using both a Biblical and historical perspective Pastor McCoy answers this question and then outlines the steps Christians should take moving forward. As the Pastor of Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Thousand Oaks California, Rob has led his church to stand strong against government overreach and provide an example for other churches to follow. This is an episode that you do not want to miss!
