We apologize for the poor audio quality. We pulled the sound from the Livestream feed, because of technical recording problems. We believe this is a Word from the Lord, and wncourage you to listen even though the sound is bad. Be blessed!
Our audio recording was not found, but we pulled the audio from the livestream video recording. The sound is a bit rough, but we thought it was still good enough to be publsihed. Enjoy!
Obedience is not the final stage of our maturity in Christ… it’s our training for a life of partnership with Him. It’s the beginning. There is more than complying with the Word of the Lord. There is more than acquiescing to the command of the Lord. Much more! The joy comes from a place of surrender to the will of the Lord, but a surrender so complete that we are swept into the momentum of saying yes. It’s a surrender so deep that we are partners in the thoughts and will of God.
There is more for us than obedience. And yet, there is not less. Obedience is the teacher that leads us into true joy. We were made to worship the Lord. We were created to bring Him pleasure. There is a partnership with Jesus that to describe is nothing short of miraculous. God will grant to us the honor of moving His heart… of hastening His day. This is lofty indeed!
We have been commanded by Jesus to know the signs of His return. As sure as the heavens and the earth will stand, the prophetic Word of Jesus will come to pass just as He said it would. As we study the end-times, it is imperative to let scripture interpret scripture. This takes time. But rather than dissect half of a verse, we should see the Word of the Lord directing us from the beginning. Every story is His story.
I. FALSE CHRISTS
Matthew 24
3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then many will fall away [1] and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 7
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
1 Corinthians 2
2:1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, [1] did not come proclaiming to you the testimony [2] of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
II. FALSE TEACHERS
2 Peter 2
2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
C. A false teacher is marked with three primary things: Denying Jesus, sensuality, and greed.
Philippians 3
18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
D. The false messenger has their mind set on earthly things. This is the root of the problem.
10and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones,
E. Though these false messengers claim to have authority, they in fact despise authority. They do not tremble. What a statement! They do not tremble. They stand as ambassadors of another reality and yet they do not tremble. This alone is the height of presumption and arrogance.
James 3
3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.
13...They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. 14 They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! 15 Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, 16 but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet's madness.
F. Unsteady souls are drawn into their ways. Here’s a good marker for the spirituality of the teacher/ minister... are those around them maturing? Are those around them humble? Are those around them trembling with the fear of the Lord? This is the true condition of the leader/teacher.
17 These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. 18 For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.
G. They will get darkness because they loved their darkness more than light. This is what they desired. They promise what they cannot deliver.
Matthew 12
33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.
H. Considering the warning, and whom it comes from, we should be careful to inspect the fruit. Signs can be deceiving. What is the fruit of the life? This is godly. This is right. And this is our job as the church. There is nothing wrong with looking at the manner of life. Does it line with scripture? With meekness? With trembling and weakness?
2 Thess 3
7 For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you,
III. FALSE PROPHETS
Jeremiah 23
15 for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
Romans 8
19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
2. The land is subjected to bondage because the sons have not been revealed.
16 Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. 17 They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, ‘It shall be well with you’; and to everyone who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say, ‘No disaster shall come upon you.’”
C. Thereissomuchatstakeforplayingatthis...notonlyourownsoul,butalsoourfamily...ourentire generation. This passage seems to be timeless. And why, because it is truly the Word of the Lord! He speaks out of time. He speaks to every generation. Every culture. To think that we have conferences designed around the ridiculous question of how to make God relevant. This is a statement of our falseness. This is a statement of our falseness. God is relevant!
18 For who among them has stood in the council of the Lord to see and to hear his word, or who has paid attention to his word and listened? 19 Behold, the storm of the Lord! Wrath has gone forth, a whirling tempest; it will burst upon the head of the wicked. 20 The anger of the Lord will not turn back until he has executed and accomplished the intents of his heart. In the latter days you will understand it clearly.
D. The awakened church will be prophetic. After all, what have they been awakened to but the Word of the Lord? Is it possible that Joel 2/ Acts 2 have to so with this passage? All flesh. The wicked will connect with the Spirit of the Lord on all flesh, but what does that look like?
E. It seems that God’s wrath is directed to the false prophetic movement. When we think of the wicked, is the first thing that comes to mind the false prophetic movement or the pimp?
21 “I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.
1 Corinthians 2
2:1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, [1] did not come proclaiming to you the testimony [2] of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 7. If we have not understood this then we have not begun to hear the Word of the Lord. If there is no fear, no comprehension of weakness, no trembling...then it is not a Word from the Lord. We have asked for the power of God, but have we said yes to weakness, fear and trembling.
2 Corinthians 4
7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.
8. If we would only say yes to the trembling...the responsibility of the Word, not just the momentary high of delivering the thing... the elation of being used by God, then we would surely tremble. Because whatever we are given we will be held accountable for. This is weighty.
22 But if they had stood in my council, then they would have proclaimed my words to my people, and they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their deeds.
I. This promise is so sure and so simple. We have only one need...to hear the Word of the Lord.
23 “Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? 24 Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord. 25 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ 26 How long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart, 27 who think to make my people forget my name by their dreams that they tell one another, even as their fathers forgot my name for Baal? 28 Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord. 29 Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
J. The Word of the Lord is a fire. It cannot be handled. It cannot be touched. It cannot be manipulated. It is a fire. The Word of the Lord is like a hammer. When the Word of the Lord has been released the landscape of our hearts is altered. The lofty places are brought to nothing. Our good ideas are laid flat.
2 Corinthians 10
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.
We spend a good amount of time considering what we get out of the Gospel. In other words, “what’s in it for us.” And I suppose this is normal, but it certainly isn’t complete. It’s not just about us... it’s about Him. What does He get out of it? What’s in it for Jesus, the Father and the Spirit? Have we considered the Gospel from His point of view? Why did He come for us and why does He stay, and why is He coming again? This is an invitation into the glorious heart of God. Brace yourself for unbridled love! It’s going to be unbearably good!
I’m reading this book by C.S. Lewis, called Out of the Silent Planet. It’s part of his Space Trilogy, and it’s rocking me. It’s a little weird, and there are some parts about light and darkness that are profound. I encourage you to read it. In fact, can I give you some advice? You really need to read more! Our minds are endlessly being dulled to the glory of the Gospel. We are being continually numbed, and we need time to meditate on the loftiness of reality. Read more! You are God-men. You’re more than dust. You’re life will go on and on forever. And eternity starts now. Turn the TV off, and let God fascinate you.
John 17
3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
Eternal life is a person. It’s found in relation...in relating to the Father and His son. It’s found in conversing, in the dialogue. It’s the sole purpose for the House of Prayer. It’s why we’ve come together. It’s for the conversation! Eternal life is now.
How much of your time do you spend in dialogue with the Lord? Church, prayer, reading your Bible are all good... and necessary, but they are only life-giving if we are doing these things with the Lord. Reading the word with The Word. Coming together as the body to join with the Head. Praying to engage into the Heavenly dialogue and not the dusty monologue. The disposition of the heart means everything.
I. YOU ARE HIS INHERITANCE
Ephesians 1
15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
A. I know it’s most common to consider what we get out of the deal. Most of our sermons are centered around what benefit we derive from God. But my thoughts this week have led me to ponder what inheritance He has within us.
Psalm 2
7 I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.
D. If I could only get you to spend an entire day meditating on this one thing...You are the inheritance of the Lord. Whom has He on earth but you?
Psalm 73
25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
E. I know there is a glorious inheritance in us! There are treasures within. There is glory within. You are the object of the Lord’s affections!! Let’s come into the
II. LOVE MUST HAVE A RECIPIENT
A. It’s not enough to be loving. Love must find a recipient. Love is a river not a pond. It’s not stagnant. It was for love that the Word came, “Let there be light.” Love is a creative force. Love is not passive.
Romans 5
3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
B. Love is like manna. It can’t be stored. It can be received, it can nourish... but it can’t be stored. I think many of us have grown frustrated because the manna has gone bad, and so we’ve questioned the goodness and provision of God for our lives. We’ve misunderstood how love works, and so what was intended to heal us had wounded us. It’s not meant to be stored. We can trust Him. There will be more in the morning!
Exodus 16
In the evening quail came up and covered the camp, and in the morning dew lay around the camp.
14 And when the dew had gone up, there was on the face of the wilderness a fine, flake-like thing, fine as frost on the ground. 15 When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.
16 This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Gather of it, each one of you, as much as he can eat. You shall each take an omer, according to the number of the persons that each of you has in his tent.’”
17 And the people of Israel did so. They gathered, some more, some less. 18 But when they measured it with an omer, whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack. Each of them gathered as much as he could eat. 19 And Moses said to them, “Let no one leave any of it over till the morning.” 20 But they did not listen to Moses. Some left part of it till the morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them. 21 Morning by morning they gathered it, each as much as he could eat; but when the sun grew hot, it melted.
C. It’s not meant to be stored. If you try and hoard it you will stink! You can take what you can, and use up the rest... Don’t hoard!!! Don’t be a love hoarder. Don’t try and contain it...either eat it or give it away!
John 7
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Out of His heart... This is so good!!! We don’t operate from a limited source, but rather we have God’s love pouring through our hearts. We have the ocean on a spigot. You are a river! You have been baptized into unlimited love. This is reality. Think about it, meditate on it until your thoughts are renewed. Stop fretting over yesterday’s manna! There is a fresh move for today.
III. WITH HIM IN PARTNERSHIP
Ephesians 2
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—6 and raisedus up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 3
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
C. He is a river... so you will be a river. He is love, and so you will be love. He is free, and so you are free. He is boundless, and through His Spirit you are boundless!
IV. BE A RIVER
Isaiah 61
1The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
4 They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations;
they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.
A. We are in a wonderful season! It’s a season of partnership. The anointing of God operates only in river form.
I’m anointed ---- to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me ---- to bind up the breokenhearted.
I’m a proclaimer ---- of liberty to those who are captive.
B. This is the season of reconciling the missionaries to the mission fields! This is a season of reconciliation. Be like God. Find a recipient for His love flowing through your heart. Find someone who needs love and pour it out! Find someone who is brokenhearted and be sent! Find the captives and proclaim... Find your field.
This is a new beginning for us! We believe that God is knitting us together as His body! We ask that you listen with the heart set to repsond to His calling on your life.

As we continue through our series, going through each of the 50 commands of Jesus recorded in the Gospels, I continue to learn what I thought I already knew. This wee we will talk about Jesus' command to be born again and ready for His return. You may be surprised at what you hadn't considered.
In this podcast, we cover Jesus' commands to lead by serving, make His house a house of prayer, and pray in faith. It is refreshing to just hear the words of Jesus, but it's invigorating to apply them!
This by far, was the most challenging week in our series. We only cover two commands, but they will convict you. But our prayer is for more than conviction. Our prayer is that you will be set free!
We continue our study of the 50 commands of Jesus. This week we will focus on His commands to come close to Him and take His yoke, honor parents, and deny ourselves. There is peace in submission.
After prayer and meditation, I almost feel disappointed that I don’t have more direction to give you. What I hear the Lord saying is to stay the course. It’s not a new word, it’s a keep going word. And I know this doesn’t make for much excitement. Stay the course isn’t that cool. We want an anointed acronym, like RRRR, this is the year of the Lion’s roar, and the four R’s stand for... We want something, anything to break the monotony and hardship of life. We want a new focus, a new doctrine even. But I hear the Lord telling us to stay the course. The course is the same, the intensity we give ourselves to it needs to increase in this season.
No hype...just line upon line study of the command sof Christ. It's the truth that sets us free. There is something so liberating about just setting our hearts to obey what Christ calls us into. There is grace to enter in!
Encountering Jesus changes everything. Just a few moments in His presence is all we need.
Sometimes we think of the Great Commission as the strategy of making converts, but Jesus actually commanded us to make disciples. He asked us to teach His commands, instructing people how to obey Him. Recorded in the four Gospel accounts of Jesus, are 50 commands that He gave us. We are looking at each of these, making sure we are following Him. After all, to make disciples you first have to be a disciple.
Over the last weeks, I've been more and more convinced that we need a revival of the Word of God. We are living in an age where truth has become subjective and the theology of the day rests on feelings. But we have been given an unshakeable Kingdom, and the the foundation of our faith rests on something more timeless than passing emotions. As we continue through our jounrey of the expressed commands of Christ, there is a certain clarity being released, and the good news is that there is grace to respond to it.
This is the most poignent messages I have ever heard. What you won't be able to hear is the church response after the word was released... deep repentance came upon our congregation, and a renewed fear of the Lord. We believe that this message is timeless, and yet demands that we live in the unrgency of the hour today.
Jesus commissioned us to makes disciples, teaching them to obey His teachings. Over the next weeks, we will go through the 50 commands of Christ recorded in the four Gospels. We will enter into the truth of His teachings, and prepareour hearts to intruct others in the Way.
There is a sesne that only perfect people can make disciples. But if you look at the context of The Great Commission, Jesus commanded his disciples to go and teach others wven while they wrestled through their own doubts. If we will set our hearts to obey, even when we don't understand and even when we may not feel like it, we will be fruitful. Part of getting it all together is making the choice to obey!
Most of us have heard of the Great Commission, where Jesus commands us to go to all the nations and make disciples. He explains in Matthew 28, that we are to go and teahc them to obey His teachings. We know what He said to do, we just aren't sure we can do it. In this series, we are going to go through the 50 commands of Jesus that are recorded in the four gospels. We will be challenged to become doers and not just hearers of the Word. This series will reacquaint you with Jesus and the assignment He's given you. You are called to not only be a disciple but you are also called to make disciples. This series will help you do both!
Sometimes we need to be reminded that the Gospel is simple, but it's impact is profound. We sometimes mix this up and the results are disasterous and completely ineffective. The Gospel is glorious and full of power. Remember this, Jesus is perfect theology!
Are you living life to the full? Is there a difference between living and existing? Is there more to life than what you are currently experiencing? Sometimes we are afraid to ask questions, but the Bible is full of real questions like these. And more than that... the scriptures point us to real answers. We will look through the book of Ecclesiastes and see what the scriptures say about the meaning of life.
God wants us to more than remember transitional seasons, He calls us to celebrate them! The Feast of Tabernacles is far from an antiquated or irrelevant holiday, rather it's applicapble to believers today in significant ways. Enjoy your tranistion!
Many times because of stress and discouragment we want to draw back... But quitting is not an option. This message is challenging and encouraging. Keep running your race!
God desires for us to come into His rest. We will look at Psalm 23 together and enter in to the invitation of rest.
The Gospel must be accompanied with signs and wonders. PERIOD. We must stay the course handed down to us by the saints! We must come back to the supernatural roots of our faith. Whatever lofty thought keeps you from believing Jesus, must be cast down. I implore you to cast down every thought that you have embraced about sickness and disease. I beseech you to cast off every lying, demonic spirit that says you cannot be free. We have gathered to contend for the faith, and that we will!
Larry Ramirez shares about personal revival. Unfortunately there was a mic mishap, but if you're patient, the preaching will resume. We apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this may cause.
Continuing our discussion on prayer... God is waiting for our cry, and when He hears it, He will answer. We are learning how to ask specifically and receive specifically. God delights to answer our prayers!
