Last season, Baconsale explored the music of specific years in the past. This time, we’ve decided to put a cinematic spin on that idea and discuss the films we love, the movies we hate, and the flicks we’ve completely forgotten about from 1985. Joel, Kent, and Zack will start off sharing their Mount Rushmore of movies made 40 years ago, and then we’ll give answers for such categories as Better Left in the Past, Guilty Pleasure, Overrated, The Lesser Sequel, and Most Watched. There will be some overlapping choices, and Zack goes full hipster on two 80s babies, but we hope you enjoy the nostalgic vibes and play along as we share synopses first and reminisce about how dark children’s films were back then.

Nothing can stop us now. We’ll tell you how we’re gonna be ranking Disneyland rides again. Ka-chow! This time, Joel, Kent, Zack, and our guest Josh will be talking about Disney California Adventure and ranking the newer attractions in both parks. We have 26 rides to tier, so we’ll start things rocking with Astro Orbitor in 1998 and we’ll finish up with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. And during this adventure/voyage/jamboree, we’ll share our personal experiences with waiting in lines, riding with kids, shooting game injuries, Winnie the Puh, and terrifying water sprinkles. It’s a web-slinging, astro-blasting, Millenium Falcon smuggling, emotional whirlwind on this episode of Baconsale!

Since this is the second episode of a Baconsale season, you can probably predict what we’re going to do. However, you won’t be able to guess what will be said during our pop culture forecast for 2025. Joel and Kent will try to turn each prophecy into a pitch show, whereas Zack attempts to estimate actual events. We’ll chat about celebrities, expound on movies we’re excited about, and hold space for soup. We also added a new category to our sports section, and we definitely know what we’re talking about this time. But is Joelstradomus dead? Do Kent’s conspiracy theories hold merit? And how many times will Zack offer an apology? Listen to find out.

What should we do for dinner? That’s the simple question that spawned a spontaneous adventure for Joel, Kent, and Zack during their recent trip to California. And on this BaconBit, we’re going to share our experience going to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament for the first time. We’ll talk about how a day of canceled plans turned into a magical & memorable evening that included an unexpected crowd, some sad horses, eating food with our bare hands, enthusiastic cheering for the color yellow, being served by a very nice wench, and a few embarrassing moments.
Join us, lords & ladies, for a look into how a ridiculous idea became a Baconsale reality.

Baconsale is back and ready to rank our favorite and least favorite movies from the previous year! Zack has decided to only opine during this first episode of our eleventh season, but Kent & Joel have each brought their top five and bottom five films to the table. After some quick cinematic stats, we’ll begin with the bad as fulfill our childhood dream of dancing with Post Malone and Satan. For the record, some of these terrible movies have good soundtracks. Then, after discussions about stabbing, misleading posters, and how jelly works, we’ll jump into the realm of good and talk about Glen Powell’s face, dark & disturbing mainstream picks, and appreciating movies even if you don’t like them.

Doesn’t seem to matter what we do, it’s time to say adieu. And as Joel, Kent Daddy, and Zack wrap up season 10 of Baconsale, we’re taking a look back at the episodes we’ve done this year. We’ll throw out some seasonal stats first, then we’ll begin patting ourselves on the back as we talk (in parentheses) about our favorite intros, outros, images, blurbs, moments, running gags, and more. We’ll reminisce about converting to Arby’s or cream cheese, we’ll offer episode numbers right off the tops of our heads, we’ll steal each other’s jokes, and we’ll even start planning for the future as we discuss the past.

What a bright time, it’s the right time, for Baconsale to discuss Christmas music again. It seems that every classic holiday song has been covered hundreds of times, but on this episode, Joel, Kent, and Zack have whittled that down to three popular versions of 25 iconic songs, including “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Let It Snow,” “O Holy Night,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and “Winter Wonderland.” We’re going to debate each tree-o of tunes and decide which one should be the default on your smart speaker. We’ll also talk in parentheses, break some triple ties, and bare some bias about Bing and Bublé.

Baconsale has talked about Hallmark Christmas movies before, but on this episode, we’re creating our own holiday-themed rom-com by making a list, checking it twice, and using the childhood game of M.A.S.H. to find out whose films are naughty and nice. Joel, Kent, and Zack will each star in their own movies while a random number generator will pick things like their job, their love interest, their tragic backstory, and their reason for going back to their hometown. Then they’ll have to tie everything together in a magically festive way. After we’re done, it’s up to you, the listener, to decide which clichéd Christmas flick you would choose to watch this winter.

You know, 2004 doesn’t seem that long ago. . .until you start discussing the songs that came out back then. And that’s precisely what we’re doing on this episode of Baconsale. Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to relive their college and teenage years through music. We’re picking our favorite and least favorite tunes for categories such as There’s No Way It’s 20 Years Old, Iconic Angsty Student/Teen Song, It’s Grown on Me, I Hate It Still, and more. There will be some repeated answers, more than a few honorable mentions, and plenty of references to Hoobastank, but you can rest assured that most of these artists are still alive.

Are we not merciful that we decided to do another BaconBit for you, our listener? Are you not entertained that Ridley Scott decided to do a sequel to his own Oscar-winning film over 20 years later? Joel hasn’t seen the movie yet, but Kent and Zack watched Gladiator II and they’re ready to give their review. The first part will be spoiler-free, except for a few plot points they already gave away in the trailer. After that, Joel will exit the arena so that Zack and Kent may unleash the full force of their GladIIator thoughts.

The Hot Light is on, which means it’s time for Baconsale to discuss Krispy Kreme doughnuts! Or are they donuts? Regardless, Joel, Sprinkles, and Zack have tried over 20 different flavors of yeast-raised, fried, filled, and glazed treats and they’re ready to rank them, top to bottom. We’ll start with a discussion about the seasonal and limited-time offerings before moving along the icing-caked conveyor belt to our ratings for a baker’s dozen of core confections. We may unleash some kontroversies as we chat about the history of the Krispy Kreme chain and offer our opinions, but don’t worry, we’ll do our best to keep things sweet, light, and fluffy.

Let’s Get Loud, because it’s time for Baconsale to discuss divas. It doesn’t matter Whenever, Wherever these powerful female vocalists come from, we’ve put 32 of them on a bracket to determine which diva is The Best. And there might be One Moment in Time when you’ll Roar because we came in like a Wrecking Ball and knocked your favorite singer out after a Shallow argument, but you must Believe that No One thinks these decisions are easy. Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to attempt to keep their Emotions in check, try not to be Toxic, give the proper amount of Respect to each artist, Shake it Off when we lose, and Work to balance recency bias and legacy bias.

It all comes down to this. Joel, Kent Daddy, and Margot Kidder (Zack) are finally concluding their trilogy talk with this third Baconsale episode. You know, unless we decide there’s another batch of worthy film trilogies to discuss and release a fourth installment. But this time we’re rating famous movie franchises such as Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, Star Wars (Sequels), Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park, Blade, Cars, Pitch Perfect, The Hangover, and The Lord of the Rings. It’s alive! Baconsale’s episode all about Frankenstein is alive! And before you say it, yes, we know that Frankenstein is the name of the doctor, not his monster. However, Mary Shelley’s creation has become so integrated into pop culture that it’s hard to tell which ideas actually came from her novel and which were brought to life by Hollywood. That’s where we come in. Joel, Kent, and Zack have donned their lab coats to discuss the differences between the book and the movies. Then, we’ll share our findings about real-life experiments by mad scientists which WARNING gets a little gruesome. And finally, we’ll wrap things up by letting you know which Frankenstein films are Baconsale-approved.

Like a cursed frogurt, Baconsale is back to haunt you with another spooky discussion for October. Joel, Kent, Zack, Kang, and Kodos have watched every Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode and we’re ready to share our favorite and least favorite segments with you. Some (Kent and Zack) may say that the episodes have sharply declined in quality over the years and have nothing to do with Halloween anymore, whereas others (Joel) may be a little too positive and end up being a hype man for average parodies. We want to play a game. During this episode of Baconsale, Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to try and determine how much of a “final girl” they really are. Therefore, we’ve created a list of horror movie villains, from A to Xenomorph, and will decide in each round if we’d defeat these monsters, if we’d barely survive the attack, or if we’d die a cowardly death. Along the way, there may be some humorous, though semi-graphic descriptions of how we (or they) would meet our (or their) demise, so listener discretion is advised. Don’t be afraid, listener, it’s just Baconsale. And we’re kicking off this October with an episode about frightful feelings. We’ll begin with a discussion about the most common fears in the world and confess which of us are afraid of the mainstream. Then we’ll let Zack pronounce some bizarre phobias while Joel and Kent explain what each term means. And finally, we asked you for your most irrational fears, and we’re going to list them (with some semblance of anonymity), judge them, and then rank them from the most rational to the most absurd. Ahoy, listener! Welcome aboard this episode of Baconsale, where Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to be discussing the smooth sounds of yacht rock with our friend, Scott. If you’re not familiar with this style of music, don’t worry, we’ll explain (as best we can) which songs & artists are considered part of it. Then we’ll present our choices for such categories as Best Love Song, Smoothest Saxophone, Would Make Me Jump Off the Yacht, Favorite Solo Artist, and Best Song Featuring Michael McDonald That Isn’t from The Doobie Brothers. In honor of the 20th anniversary of Oceanic Flight 815’s crash, we’ve opened our eyes and are ready to talk about the TV series Lost. We’ll start off on the spoiler-free side of the island, giving some general background about this iconic ABC drama and flashing back to our personal experiences with the show. Then, after some time has passed, we’ll climb down the spoiler hatch to discuss specific plot points and rank our favorite characters, moments, and episodes. Joel, Kent & Zack, won’t answer every question you may still have about Lost, but we’ll attempt to clear some black smoke away from the bigger mysteries. Yip yip! M. Night Shyamalan’s film The Last Airbender has been derided as one of the worst films ever made since it was released in 2010—perhaps rightly so, since it offended fans of the original animated TV series and bewildered newcomers to the story. However, on this episode of Baconsale, it’s up to Joel, Kent, and Zack to defend this attempt at a live-action adaptation and keep things positive. Why? Because you told us to. We’ll justify odd pronunciations, we’ll present our favorite scenes, we’ll make Taco Bell comparisons, and we’ll give ourselves the occasional rant break, so we don’t bend fire from our eyes or lose control and angrily enter the Avatar State (Ahvahtar Stahte?).

Therefore, on this episode of Baconsale, we’ve got a list of popular mall eateries including Orange Julius, Sbarro, Hot Dog on a Stick, Wetzel’s Pretzels, Panda Express & Mrs. Fields, and we’re going to take turns picking restaurants one by one. In the end, it’s up to you, the listener, to decide which of our food courts you would frequent. Baconsale has already taken a look at the music of 30 years ago this season, so why not roll back the clock another decade and pick some tunes from 1984? Well, because trying to decide which songs to include is like choosing a favorite child. There are so many good options from that year, even for Zack, who wasn’t even born yet! Nevertheless, we are going to press forward with this episode and select answers for such categories as Feels Older than 40, Overrated, Best Love Song, Favorite One-Hit Wonder, and more. We’ll begin by unleashing our Venom on five films we’re hoping will flop and throw them to the Wolfs. Then we’ll Transformers One topic into another and Speak No Evil against the five movies we’re wanting to watch. And while things may get a little cuckoo on this episode, we are going to finish the bracket and declare which mascot packs the biggest vitamin-packed punch. Do you believe in magic? Because that’s going to come into play a few times, as well as some Bible stories. Our logic may be difficult to follow, but just follow your nose and you’ll be fine.

On this episode, Joel, Kent, and Zack have randomly placed 64 popular brand mascots on a bracket to discover who can take a bite out of crime (and their opponent). And as these colorful commercial characters and animated anthropomorphic animals do battle with one another, things get sour, then sweet, then just plain weird.

We have a limited number of maximum-, medium-, and minimum-security cells at the prison, so we have to make sure we put the most formidable fictional foes in the right spots. We know some of you have a Burning Love for the King of Rock and Roll, but we also know that others think he’s just a Hound Dog whose songs belong In the Ghetto. Nevertheless, Joel, Kent & Zack listened to all of Elvis’s studio albums and they Can’t Help Falling in Love with his music and stage presence. There’s a first time for everything, and some movie directors hit the ground running when it came to their first feature film. Other initial cinematic efforts, however, were less than stellar. So, on this episode of Baconsale, Joel & Kent have each brought their top 7 & bottom 7 directorial debuts to share with you, the listener, and with Zack. Kent is covering some of the biggest filmmakers to come out of Hollywood (post-1980, of course), whereas Joel mostly seems to pick movies he likes (pre-2000, of course). We’ve talked trilogies on Baconsale before, but now it’s time for us to tier them. We’ve created a large list of popular movie franchises and Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to rank the first batch of them. To be honest, we’re a little loose with the term “trilogy,” so there are some asterisks next to the names of certain film series, but they all at least include an original and two sequels. This time around we’ll be discussing such trilogies as Back to the Future, How to Train Your Dragon, Indiana Jones, Kingsman, Madagascar, Star Wars (Prequels), The Hobbit, and Three Flavours Cornetto.

Sam & Chad have joined our team and they’re ready to discuss the storytelling, the animation style, the surprising lack of Wolverine and, of course, civil rights. The first part of this review is spoiler-free, but after Joel leaves, the conversation will mutate into spoilers. Don’t worry. We’ll warn you before that happens, Chere.

If you’re looking for information about a fast-food sandwich shop that has sold over five billion classic roast beef sandwiches, we have the deets! On this episode of Baconsale, Joel, Kent, and Zack are discussing their latest quest: eating everything on the menu at Arby’s. Yes, we finally convinced Kent to conquer this restaurant, but has he become a Curly Fries convert? After giving a brief history of Arby’s, we’ll discuss our experiences as we ate each breakfast item, sandwich, Market Fresh option, side, and dessert. Then we’ll slice off some meaty facts about the app, expose our differing taste buds, share some saucy tidbits about red ranch, spell some things backwards, tell the tale of the Meat Mountain, and hold the cheddar.

Every listener come and play! Throw every last care away! Let’s go to the mall today on this episode of Baconsale. Remember malls? Joel, Kent, and Zack do, and it’s up to them to revitalize the industry by creating the perfect shopping center using the classic ‘90s game of M.A.S.H. We’re picking from stores you love, shops you hate, and retailers you may have completely forgotten about. Plus, we’ve added a lemon in each category to make things interesting. We’ll do our best to build the most satisfying & nostalgic shopping mall experience possible, and then it’s up to you to choose where you’d like to shop.

If you’ve been Kraven to know which movies are coming out this summer, the Bad Boys of Baconsale are here to help. Joel, Kent, and Zack have explored the Borderlands of upcoming releases and they’re ready to tell you which ones they’re excited to see. And, in a plot twist of plot Twisters, we’re also going to turn things Inside Out and inform you about the movies we want to bomb. But there’s no need to get Furiosa and hire a Hit Man IF we, The Watchers of summer movie trailers, say something you disagree with. Don’t fall into that Trap. Just know that we’re not going to pick anything that comes out in The Fall, Guy.

Are you ready to walk the floor with Baconsale, listener? Our friend Kyler has a VIP pass, so he’s joining Joel, Kent, and Zack as a panelist on this episode to discuss conventions. There’s a con for everyone, no matter what your interests are, so we’re going to give you some general tips & tricks on how to have the most enjoyable experience possible. We’ll also be sharing some personal stories and suggesting rules of etiquette for everyone in attendance. And remember, if you have further questions about conventions after listening, the answer is always, “it depends on the con.”

We’ve crowned a new Listener for the new year during our 446th episode, and now it’s time for Scott, Taylor, and Aleesha to combine forces against the pop culture powerhouse of Team JK. Joel & Kent may not know how to high-five each other, but their brains are full of useless trivia and their buzzer fingers are primed and ready. Will Team JK run away with it? Will Team Listener give Joel and Kent a run for their money? What are our feelings on water crackers? Why aren’t we allowed to consult with one another? Listen and find out.

Not every podcast celebrates their 446th episode, but we here at Baconsale do things differently. Since Chad has served two terms as The Listener, it’s time for him to peacefully step down and allow someone else to fill that vital role. Our contestants, Aleesha, Scott, and Taylor, have all proved they have what it takes during our pre-quiz, and now we’re going to test them on such pop culture topics as The Beatles, Baconsale brackets, movie cars, and late-night talk show hosts. We’ll spill a little tea (and soda), take on some tricky math, get judged by the peanut gallery and, of course, play the game of Baconsale.
Who will be our Listener for the next year? How many buzzer rounds will we do? Which question categories were inspired by Kent? Press play to find out!

We talk about movies & music all the time on Baconsale, so why not combine the two? Joel and Kent struggled while trying to decide which of their favorite music videos they should pick for categories such as Best Choreography, Favorite One-Hit Wonder Video, Most Inventive, and Made You Like the Song Less, whereas Zack is just trying to make the few music videos he’s seen in his life fit into each category. Nevertheless, we all decided that this episode is brought to you by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and we’ve also limited how many OK Go videos we can pick.

Listener, we mustache you a question. What are your thoughts on the mouth brow? On this episode of Baconsale, we’re facing the facts about facial hair, and rating some of the most famous lip rugs from pop culture. First, we’ll give you a quick history of mustaches (moustaches?). Then we’ll share our combined list of the top 20 flavor savors and the bottom five face caterpillars, which we ranked according to fullness, shape, uniqueness, iconic-ness, and face completion…ness. And remember, we’re not judging the character of the person, we’re just pondering the power of their nose neighbor.

All right listener, rise and shine! And don’t forget your brackets because we’re going to finish our film of movies tournament! But how do you solve a problem like choosing between two great films? Well, if history has taught us anything, it’s that Joel, Kent, and Zack can kill any movie. And once an idea has taken hold of their brains, it’s almost impossible to eradicate. However, after each painful decision, we got to put our behind in our past, use the force, and show a little backbone. At times you may question how we can be so obtuse, or our picks may put you in the pit of despair or cause mass hysteria, however life finds a way and, we promise you, the dawn is coming.

And here we go! Last season, Baconsale did tournaments for action, comedy, drama, thriller & family films and now, oh yeah, it’s all coming together. With your help, we’ve narrowed it down to 64 of the previously discussed movies, and we’ve let the cold, cruel hand of random fate decide where they go on this bracket. And that’s all we have to say about that. Now it’s up to Joel, Kent, and Zack to choose wisely when it comes to which precious movies we must say “so long, farewell,” and which ones we deem to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. It’s not easy for us to decide, as if what we do in this episode echoes in eternity, and some of our decisions may unleash the ten plagues of Egypt upon us, but this is the business we’ve chosen, and we hope you’re able to free your mind and enjoy a whole new world as we begin this journey.

The Oscars started an hour earlier this year to help boost viewership, but it seems that only enticed Zack to watch them. Therefore, he’s going to give Joel & Kent (He’s Just Kent!) a brief recap of what happened at the 96th Academy Awards. Then we’ll quickly review who we picked, who you picked, and reveal the winner of our Baconsale ballot contest. Our eyes may see Oppenheimer, but we hope John Cena won’t awkwardly walk into the Baconcave wearing nothing more than an envelope. But at least we can look forward to a random (yet hilarious) plot summary for Field of Dreams.

Keep smilin’, keep shinin’, knowing you can always count on TV, for sure, to let you know what friends are for. On this episode of Baconsale, we’re going to be picking our favorite fictional friendships on television including childhood pals, school classmates, partners in crime, and work proximity associates. Joel, Zack, and that third guy over there are joined by our friend Steven to pick an answer for each one of the categories. We’re going to buddy match on a few choices, we’re going to allow a lot of honorable mentions, and we hope that you feel a closeness to us as you listen to our discussion.

It’s time, once again, for Baconsale to try and guess the mind of Academy voters. Joel, Kent, and Zack have done their research on the 96th Academy Awards, and they’re ready to pass that information along to you, the listener, so you can sound really smart at any Oscar parties you may be attending this year. We’ll let you know which films we like (and which ones we liiiiike) as we play Vegas odds, share some terrible puns, and memorialize the things we lost last year.

Let’s face it, listener, some condiments just don’t cut the mustard. Therefore, it’s time for Baconsale to relish in our opportunity to tier 24 popular table sauces. First, Joel, Kent & Zack are going to try to come to a consensus of what a condiment is, and then we’re going to say what we think about salsa, rank ranch dressing, debate about Dijon, and more. We’re going to throw a lot of hot (sauce) takes your way on this episode, but we’re sure you’ll ketchup.

With the WGA and the SAG-AFTRA both on strike, it’s uncertain if any movies will actually be coming out this fall or winter. Nevertheless, Baconsale must press on. Joel, Kent, and Zack are ready to let you know what might be hitting theaters and coming to streaming soon as we approach the end of 2023. Listen as we discuss long-awaited sequels, much-lamented prequels, and the death rattles of dying universes. We also give way too much attention to some of the joke answers and had to add in some editor’s notes for the films that already had their release dates pushed back after we recorded this episode.

Oi there, listener! On this episode of Baconsale, we’ve decided to continue the course of Commonwealth pop culture by discussing jolly old England. Things aren’t looking good for the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now. Phase Four wasn’t very well received and Phase Five isn’t off to a great start. It’s been a very slow road getting here, but the fastest man alive has finally arrived on the big screen. But is The Flash worth the wait? On this BaconBit, Kent and Joel are ready to quickly review the speedster’s solo movie. Kent may be a little bitter about the path the DC Extended Universe […]

A few years ago, Baconsale confessed our pop culture blind spots to you, the listener. You accepted us, despite our shortcomings, and so we decided to do it again. First of all, Joel, Kent, and Zack follow-up on the films we talked about last time and see how much progress we’ve made. Then we’ll take a look at the gaps in our knowledge about popular bands, books, TV series, and video games. Plus, we have a miscellaneous category where we can confess anything else we know nothing about. Along the way, we’ll approve each other’s answers, support each other in their endeavors, and plan some very strange sleepovers.

Our words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup, and they slither wildly as we review Spider-Man: Across the Universe. Kent & Joel are ready to share their thoughts on this highly anticipated animated sequel, while Zack is going to web sling out of the Baconcave when we enter the BaconBit spoiler-verse because he hasn’t seen this movie yet. But does this film live up to the hype? Or is animation vomit? Will Miles Morales go the distance? And does it all fit into Spider-Man canon

Don’t bother us, we’re eating. Okay, we’re done eating now, so it’s time for Baconsale to talk about our latest menu quest: Carl’s Jr. We ate everything on the menu and are ready to give you all the hand-scooped details! As we chat about the history of this fast-food chain, Joel, Kent, and Zack will reveal the Hardee’s connection, ponder the disappearance of Green Burrito, and try to ignore most of the restaurant’s ads from the 2000s. Then we’ll share our favorite burgers, the worst breakfast menu items, our go-to orders, the biggest surprises we encountered, and more. Along the way, we’ll discover the difference between the Apple and Android apps, discuss the hierarchy of chicken nugget shapes, debate about the Famous Star, and compare almost everything to Cinnabon Maverik.

Baconsale admits that in the past we’ve been a nasty about live-action Disney remakes. You weren’t kidding when you called us, well, cynics. However, nowadays, perhaps we’ve mended all our ways, repented, seen the light, and made a switch. True? Maybe. On this BaconBit, we’re going to review the live-action film adaptation of The Little Mermaid. So is this latest cash grab a poor, unfortunate, soulless remake? Or will we accept this movie as part of our world? You’ll have to listen to find out. And even though there’s not much to spoil about the story, we’ll still keep any major changes under the sea until the end.

We’re going to rank fifteen popular TV hosts, including Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall, Jon Stewart, Conan O’Brien, Stephen Colbert, and the Jimmys. We’ll talk about the history of this type of television programming and discuss why it seems to be in decline lately. We’ll also reminisce about some of our favorite sketches, characters, and jokes from the past. Joel, Kent, and Zack may match answers more than they’d like to, but we hope you’ll stick around to hear the musical act at the end of tonight’s show.

Are you Enchanted by Amy Adams? Our guest Jonathan is, which is why he had no Doubt as to what he wanted to discuss on this episode of Baconsale. Not only does he think that Amy is Drop Dead Gorgeous, but Her movies are his Vice. However, do Amy’s acting chops, red hair, and Big Eyes impress Joel, Kent, and Zack? Do they think this Underdog’s career is Standing Still? Or do they see her as The Fighter Jonathan does, who is On the Road to even more acting success? Listen to the Arrival of our answers to categories such as Most Adorable Performance, She Was Miscast, and Underrated Role as we do our best to not confuse Amy Adams with Isla Fisher.

It only took 400 episodes, but Baconsale is finally doing an episode all about The Beatles! Joel is riding on a Beatles high (NOT the kind that involves greener grass or fungus) and would happily talk Eight Days a Week about The Fab Four. Zack is Across the Universe on the opposite side of Beatlemania and was yelling “Help!” as he had to listen to all of their albums. Kent is Something in the middle, and prefers the darker, experimental side of John, Paul, George, and Ringo. However, despite our differences, We Can Work It Out as we take The Long and Winding Road of discussing the history of the band. Then we’ll Come Together to reveal our bottom five and top five songs from the best-selling music act of all time.

It’s time for Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 to face the music. Joel and Kent saw this delayed conclusion to the GotG trilogy and they’re ready to review it and talk about their feelings for Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket, Nebula, Mantis, and James Gunn. We’ll start off with our spoiler-free thoughts, and then we’ll warn you before we enter the spoiler quadrant. Since this film is darker and heavier than the previous two, will that make Kent like it more, since he, too, dwells in darkness? Will Joel be completely turned off by this MCU movie’s “accomplishment”? Can this franchise stand on its own? And how’s the soundtrack?

Even though the weather might not agree, it seems that the summer season is upon us, and Baconsale is ready to guide you through the cinematic forecast. Joel and Kent have looked forward at Hollywood’s upcoming offerings and will let you know five movies they want to avoid followed by five films they would like to see. Although, to be honest, Kent is only really excited for three of his five picks. And while Joel hopes his choices will fail, Kent definitively knows his films are going to flop. Join us as we unleash our inner-dad hype and speak about sequels, rant about remakes, and babble about Barbie.
Now that release dates are somewhat reliable again (with the exception of the DCEU), it’s time for you press play!

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your podcast speaking. We’d like to thank you for joining Baconsale on this journey through the sometimes-friendly skies. Kent, Joel, and Zack are prepared to discuss proper behavior when arriving at the airport, waiting for your flight, boarding the plane, magically flying through the sky, and eventually deplaning. As we present both our proposed rules and the listener’s suggestions, we’ll decide whether they’re cleared for takeoff, experiencing some turbulence, or if they’re grounded. And as we set the ground rules for the air travel, we’ll reveal some shocking truths about ourselves, including the little-known fact that Kent is tall.

Now that Chad has The Listener victory trophy securely in his hands, it’s time for him, Taylor, and Briggs to see if they can go toe-to-toe with Baconsale’s Team JK, who are still undefeated (at a board game called Time’s Up). And since Joel and Kent weren’t able to answer any questions during the recent anniversary show episode, they’re itching to hit their buzzers as quickly as possible. However, for reasons only known to them, they have to hold a finger boop to give their official responses.

Look, if we would have waited for the 400th episode to do our anniversary show, it would have been pushed into mid-May, and we want to keep this annual event near Baconsale’s birthday in April. So we’re celebrating our beginnings on our 397th episode with a pop culture trivia contest that pits three contestants against each other: Chad, the returning Listener; Taylor, who tinkers with tools; and our youngest voluntary listener, Briggs. Zack will host this quirky quiz show and question our guests about casual dining menu items, boy bands, sporting team names, horror film franchises, and, of course, Gilmore Girls. Kent will do his best not to give away answers to our guests, Joel just keeps gasping at everything, and we hope you have a good time listening to this ridiculous competition.

Have you ever watched a TV series or movie where they celebrated a fictional holiday and you wanted to join in on the fun? That’s what we’re talking about on this episode of Baconsale. Joel, Kent, and Zack are taking a look at holidays made up by screenwriters such as Festivus, Galentine’s Day, Purge Night, Life Day, Chrismukkah, Robanukah & Yak Shaving Day and deciding whether or not they should be celebrated in real life. We’ll also discuss their origins, some traditions, and how best to observe these imaginary celebrations.

Okay, here’s the situation: Zack just got a fancy Aston Martin and he’s getting ready to go on a road trip to the SPAM Museum in Austin, Minnesota (obviously). However, he’s only got room for one passenger in his car, so one of the other two Baconsale hosts will have to stay behind. And Zack is going to make his decision on who he’s taking with him based solely on the snacks they’re providing for the journey. We asked you, the listener, for suggestions of the worst road trip food out there, and now it’s up to Joel and Kent to pick the best of the bad and see if they can persuade Zack to let them ride shotgun.

Don’t touch that dial, listener, because Baconsale is ready to repeatedly hit the nostalgia button for everyone who was born before Zack was. Our friend Casey is joining us to talk about television series from the 1980s, and pick answers for such categories as Best Cartoon, Biggest Crush, Most Annoying Character, and Family You’d Want to Be In. Considering how many TV shows aired at least 50% of their episodes in the 80s, you’d think that we’d have little to no overlap, but we’re all a little surprised by how much we match each other.

We’ve debated about songs with similar titles before on Baconsale, but what about tunes with the exact same lyrics? On this episode, Joel, Kent & Zack are comparing popular cover songs to the original versions and deciding which one is better. These matchups will include such hits as “I Will Always Love You,” “Live and Let Die,” “I’m A Believer,” “Hurt,” “Always on My Mind,” and “Landslide.” There are also some triple-twin rounds where we’ll be choosing between three different artists. Yes, our decisions are very subjective, and our arguments vary from round to round, but hey, that’s Baconsale.

The 95th Academy Awards did their best to avoid any drama this year, and therefore the ratings surged to make it the third-lowest viewed broadcast in the ceremony’s history! Zack watched the whole bland thing, Kent struggled to find a place to stream it, and Joel just looked up the winners on Twitter. On this BaconBit, we’ll be discussing the swanky gift bags, inconsiderate dresses, what made Zack cry, stripped down performances, suspenderography and, of course, the winners of each category. We’ll also see who did best on their ballot and announce the winner of our Oscars contest!

Our name is Baconsale. Our world is fire and blood. Which is why we’ve decided to create a bracket to see which action/adventure movie is the greatest of them all. You submitted the adrenaline-fueled films for this tournament, and now it’s up to us to cut your heart out with a spoon as we say “Hasta la vista” to most of your favorite flicks. But Joel, Kent & Zack ain’t got time to bleed. They must go faster as they try to complete this competition in one shot. And even though we know some of our decisions will make you want to have your vengeance, in this life or the next, just know that there’s some good in this episode, listener, and it’s worth fighting for.

Well, it’s Oscar season…again. The Academy is trying really hard to get people interested this year by nominating some huge box office successes, but do popcorn flicks & comedies really have a chance of winning? We’re going to speculate on that while making predictions for each of the 23 award categories on this episode of Baconsale. And with Golden Corral on the line for the winner of these golden statue forecasts, the stakes have never been higher. Zack plays the odds again, Joel tries to keep us sad (and not mad), Kent has fun with puns, and Angela Basset does the thing.
Will Elvis be king of the 95th Academy Awards? Will The Banshees of Inisherin make a lot of noise? Will it be All Quiet on the Western Front for epic war remakes? Will Everything Everywhere All At Once take it all? Press play to roll out the red carpet to your ears and find out.

We’re keeping things positive on this episode as we revisit a well from five years ago and, once again, discuss underrated things. Some of the categories mirror our last overrated episode (e.g., condiment & sitcom character), some are Baconsale staples (movie villain &video game hero), and other ones are completely random (doughnut & over-the-counter drug). Joel, Kent, and Zack have a little difficulty distinguishing underrated from dated, we’ve got some hot takes to offer, and we’ll do our best to keep things entertaining as we question and sometimes mock each other’s undervalued answers.

To all who listen to this happy episode; welcome. Baconsale is your podcast. How do you do? Say it when you’re meetin’ Joel, Kent, and Zack. They’re going to tier 24 rides at Disneyland, going chronologically from opening day in 1955 to Indiana Jones in 1995. And it’s a small world after all, because these foolish mortals are joined by our friend Josh, a self-proclaimed Disneynerd. We’ve got a lot of magical memories comin’ down the track as we discuss our personal experiences with each ride at the park. We’ll also offer a peek at the backside of water as we share some interesting trivia about the attractions, expose Disney World snobbery, and showcase amazing Donald Duck impersonations.

Now that the third installment of Ant-Man is beginning the fifth phase of the MCU, we’re going to review it during our second BaconBit of the ninth season of Baconsale. Zack isn’t here, unfortunately, but Kent & Joel are ready to share their thoughts about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Kent has been a little bitter about Ant-Man since Edgar Wright left the project, and this series hasn’t been one of Joel’s favorites, either, but will they be the tiniest bit impressed by the Quantum Realm? Listen to find out. And don’t worry, the first part of this review is free of spoilers.

Will they? Won’t they? Yes, it looks like Baconsale is going to do an episode about love triangles. We’ve taken 14 of the most popular romances from film & TV to discuss whether the characters made the right decisions, if they should have chosen the one that got away, or if they should have ended up alone. There are going to be a few spoilers as we talk about older television shows and movies, but we hope you enjoy our arguments about age differences, our sentiments about stalkers, and our reactions to relationships. Prepare yourself for a lot of emotional gear shifting as we go from silly romantic comedies to dark dramas to sitcoms, but remember that the one constant in all this madness is love.

Listen, listener, it’s too difficult to decide what our top five favorite albums are, and a top 10 would just take too long. Therefore, on this episode of Baconsale, we’re each picking seven albums that we love. These aren’t songs that we put on shuffle, we enjoy these musical collections track by track, in the order they were intended to play. Kent is ready to showcase his hipster side, but he’s including some self-proclaimed bangers. Meanwhile, Zack & Joel are largely giving stage crew picks—Zack’s are in chronological order, and Joel’s are largely influenced by his sister. We hope you enjoy hearing our memories of music as much as we enjoyed sharing them.
Press play to hear our sneaky honorable mentions.

Get those noses high in the air, listener, because we’re talking Sundance again. Our friend, Emily, is joining us to talk about the record number of movies she and Kent watched this year. And guess what? Almost 30% of them were good this season! Listen to Kent & Emily’s hive-mind thoughts as they talk to you about Talk to Me, relate the story of Flora and Son, reminisce about Past Lives, condemn Bad Behavior, and civilly discuss Polite Society.

It’s been a few years since we last asked What Would Baconsale Do? However, we’ve decided to enter the realm of random mental insights again, this time with Zack at the helm. He’s going to ask Kent & Joel a series of questions about genies, aliens, shopping carts, and more. Zack is also going to present some serious moral quandaries, some of which were generated by artificial intelligence. We hope you enjoy this bizarre episode as we discuss Return of Jafar, the destruction of Portland, purring when we’re happy, losing fingers, knives & duct tape, and a handful of positive affirmations.

It’s not every day that we unleash our powers of prognostication on our listener, it’s just usually on the second show of every season. So on this episode of Baconsale, we’re looking at the upcoming year and getting a little catty. We’ll be making predictions about celebrity comebacks & break-ups, pop culture drama, sports forecasts, the rule of threes, movies releasing this year, and more. Since we’ve been doing this type of show for a while now, we occasionally will copy each other’s former answers (as well as our own). But we hope you enjoy hearing us giggle at sports names, berate those who go back to the well, and switch places in our opinions.
Watch out for Ezra Miller in 2023, and press play to hear silent agreement.

As our ninth season of Baconsale begins, we realize very quickly that it’s a good thing we’re pop culture podcasters and not math teachers. We’re looking back at the movies we watched this past year and ranking our five least favorite films, followed by our five favorites. Joel is going after cult classics this time, and it’s his own fault he chose the truly rotten ones. Kent keeps his choices to limited to movies released in 2022, and manages to find a few golden hipster nuggets amidst the cape flicks and wasteland that was last year in cinema. And Zack is there to judge each of our picks along the way.

Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to do another category show all about Baconsale because the season has come to an end. Things start off with a thousand voices & a single dream, followed by a discussion of our favorite moments, strange topics, what surprised us, our biggest accomplishments, and more. Kent cheats a little on his categories this year, while Joel forgot that he could do that. And Zack gives a not-so-subtle hint about what kind of show he’d like to do in the future.
Yes, this episode involves a lot of back-patting (which makes us feel a little awkward at times), but it’s an entertaining walk down memory lane, along with slight mockery and a few guilt trips.

Marley was dead: to begin with. Dead as a door-nail. This must be distinctly understood, or nothing wonderful can come of the Baconsale episode we are going to relate. Joel, Kent, and Zack have watched every film adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novella, A Christmas Carol, and we’re going to build our own version of Ebenezer Scrooge’s story using the tried-and-true method of M.A.S.H. As we do so, we’ll also share our thoughts on the acting, the storytelling, the sets, the costumes, the visual effects, and the music of each version we saw. And we’ll pick our favorite and least favorite movies. Will the Christmas spirits be kind to us? Or will we wear the chains we formed in life, link by link, and yard by yard?

On the first show of December, our podcast gave to you, a random holiday-themed ranking episode. We’ve decided to take a Baconsale-style look at the presents given during The Twelve Days of Christmas and see if they’re something that anyone would actually want. After we discuss the history of the song and how much these gifts would cost, we’ll then tier each present according to what we’d cherish forever, what we might enjoy once, and what we’d regift or just throw away. Joel gets a little greedy for gold, people never stop dancing at Kent’s apartment in New York, and watch out for the Zack Attack at the end! It’s a killer!

Hey, Soul Sister! We’re over the (My) Humps and finishing our terrible song tournament on this episode of Baconsale. Joel, Kent, and Zack may not be Happy with the awful tunes they must move forward, because they have to Play It Again, and there are Blurred Lines with some of their reasoning, but the urge […]
Last Christmas (or rather last March), Baconsale picked the ultimate Song of Songs. And now, even though No One was really asking for it, we’re beginning our quest to find the least Perfect song. We asked our listener (including all the Single Ladies), to submit their terrible tunes, and we’ve put those disagreeable ditties in […]
It’s been four years since the first standalone Black Panther movie. A lot of events within the Marvel Cinematic Universe have occurred since then, as well as the tragic, real-life passing of Chadwick Boseman, but is this sequel a fitting finish to Phase Four? Or is this two-hour-and-forty-one-minute movie going to be a drain on […]
Lights! Camera! Silence! On this episode of Baconsale, Joel is showing his age. He’s brought a selection of silent films to the table in hopes that Zack and Kent have (finally) watched them and are ready to review all ten. Some of these movies are over 100 years old, yet Joel feels they still have […]
Once again, we handed the keys to the asylum over to the patients and let you, the listener, take over this Baconsale Halloween episode. We asked for more of your terrifying true stories as well as frightening fictional tales, and you certainly delivered. Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to take turns reading your spooky […]
Since we talked about haunted places last year, Baconsale has decided to round out the ghostly nouns on this episode and talk about haunted things & people. We’ll be discussing diabolic dolls, chatting about cursed canvases, and babbling about blighted bunk beds. Despite the darker subject material, Joel, Kent, and Zack are going to do […]
It’s finally here! The movie that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been promoting for the past decade or so! Black Adam has Shazam-ed into theaters, and Baconsale is ready to review it. Kent, the DC-loving cynic, has been a little down on the Extended Universe lately, but will this Warner Bros. Picture light the spark […]
In the summer of 1957, a young boy named Jason Voorhees drowned at Camp Crystal Lake in New Jersey. Since that tragic event, a string of murders has occurred in or around the campground, causing some to wonder if the area is cursed or even haunted by a masked, vengeful ghoul. This is the true […]
Paranormal investigator Beaker is back on Baconsale! Once again, he’s brought a list of 13 alarming areas & petrifying places from around the world, and it’s up to us to decide if we’d be willing to spend the night there by ourselves. Will we laugh at the ha-ha walls surrounding the Aradale Mental Hospital in […]
Oh, look. Another glorious BaconBit! Thirty years (minus one year) ago, a Disney movie about witches received mixed reviews from critics and didn’t do that well at the box office. However, since that time, it has become a beloved cult classic for many, leading to the long-delayed legasequel: Hocus Pocus 2. But do the Sanderson […]
We see a Bad Moon Rising, which must mean it’s finally October! And Heads Will Roll as Baconsale carefully crafts the perfect playlist for any Monster Mash. Joel, Kent, and Zack have done some Weird Science to select 31 spooky songs that they hope will turn a dance floor Ghost Town into a Thriller of […]
I scream, you scream, we all scream when Baconsale does a food challenge. We’ll first give the history of the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty stores […]
It’s a dangerous business, listener, discussing The Lord of the Rings. You step into this subject and, if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to. Autumn is approaching, which means it’s time for Baconsale to look toward the near cinematic future and let you know which films are coming out before the end of the year. Our leap-year host Dan is back, since Zack is on paternity leave, and he’s going to join Joel & Kent in giving five upcoming […]

Kent, Joel, and Zack have each brought 10 secret movies to the table, and the only clues they are allowed to give each other come from the Parents Guide on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb). […]
I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Baconsale is doing another episode where they have to defend something that is generally disliked, and this time it’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Indy’s fourth adventure isn’t looked upon as kindly as the original trilogy, but it’s up to Joel, Kent, and Zack […]
Attention, Listener, this episode about Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305 is ready for departure. We’ll be ranking hamburgers, hot dogs, […]
The owls are silent. That must mean it’s time for Baconsale to take on the transcendental filmmaker, David Lynch. He may be popular among film geeks, but many people might not know the influence he’s had on movies & television. We’re joined on this episode by Andrew, a young Lynchian enthusiast, who asked us to […]
The double suns have set on another Star Wars series, so Kent, Joel, and Zack are ready to discuss Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hello there! It’s been a while since we’ve dedicated an entire episode to Star Wars (blame the sequel series), but our special guest Kyler has given us a new hope. He’s created a “Jar-JarPardy” quiz for Kent, Joel & Zack, and these half-witted scruffy-looking nerf herders are going to battle it out to see with […]

Things are just peachy here in the Baconcave, even though we’re taking on a surprisingly controversial topic: fruit. We’re joined by the apple of Zack’s eye, Babs, and she is helping us from going completely bananas as we rank and tier 24 popular fruits from around the world. Joel has cherry-picked a large crop of […]
We’re revvin’ up our engines so you can listen to our howlin’ review about Top Gun: Maverick. It’s been 36 years since we’ve seen Pete Mitchell take to the skies and the big question is, will this long-anticipated sequel take our breath away? Or does the movie crash and burn into great balls of fire? […]

If you’re out on the road, feeling lonely and so cold, all you have to do is listen to this episode, and your spirits will be lifted, because today we’re talking about Gilmore Girls! Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Baconsale has conquered yet another restaurant: KFC. We’ve eaten every Kentucky Fried item on the menu, and we’re ready to talk turkey …er, chicken. Zack is a recent convert to the Colonel’s secret recipe, while Joel fears the franchise closest to his home, and Kent has tender feelings about thighs. We’ll […]
Hello, Listener! This BaconBit is from another dimension where Kent & Joel are the only hosts of Baconsale. Okay, in reality, Zack hasn’t seen Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness yet, so he left to avoid any spoilers. However, the first 15 minutes of our review is spoiler-free, so he could have stuck around, […]
With a new Listener crowned, it’s time for all three contestants to combine their forces against the undefeated-ish Team JK. Listen as Zack tests who has the quicker buzzer finger and the most correct answers on TV trivia, video game history, literary queries, chess facts, and far too many math questions (according to Joel & […]
Now that we’ve passed Supernatural in number of episodes, it’s time for Baconsale to celebrate our anniversary show! Spencer, the former Listener, has graciously resigned from his position. This left a power vacuum, which is being courageously contended for by three respectable replacements: Valerie, Mark, and Chad. Listen as we quiz our contestants on highest-grossing […]
Summer just gets earlier and earlier in theaters, doesn’t it? On this episode of Baconsale, we’re going to guide you through the next four months or so, and let you know which movies we’re excited for and which movies we want to bomb (and have wanted to bomb for the past couple years). We’ll be […]
We had so much fun putting similarly titled songs head-to-head last time, that we’ve decided to do another 22 rounds of mini musical matchups. And this time, Baconsale is going to prove how hip they are to kids’ music these days, because we’re including such hits as “All I Want,” “Dynamite,” “Somebody to Love,” and […]

The Academy Awards have been hit hard with low ratings lately, which has been quite a blow to Hollywood’s ego. However, this year’s Oscars clapped back and scored the second-lowest viewership ever! They think they deserve a pat on the back (or face), but we’re going to critique how the ceremony went, even when things […]
Don’t Stop Believin’ that this Baconsale episode is going to be a Thriller, because we’re going to finish our quest to find the One song to rule them all. And while some of this music gives us Good Vibrations and makes us want to be a Dancing Queen, other tunes are barely Livin’ on a Prayer and will sink Like a Stone and take the Stairway to Heaven. What a Wonderful World it is, listener, because of the song submissions you gave us. We couldn’t have done this tournament With or Without You.

In order to salvage their continually plummeting ratings, the Academy Awards asked three quasi-famous hosts to help people care about the films that no one has seen and the ceremony no one is watching. Unfortunately, Joel, Kent & Zack were busy recording this episode, so the Oscars will have to settle for less. Nevertheless, we’re going to continue our tradition of making predictions for the Academy Award winners on this episode of Baconsale. Listen as Kent tries to not follow his heart, Joel scours the web to find answers, and Zack plays the odds in Vegas.

Everybody Wants to Rule the World, but Baconsale just wants to determine the best song in the world. Therefore, we looked In Your Eyes and used your musical submissions to see which tunes you thought embody The Spirit of Radio. As Kent, Joel, and Zack make their way through this tournament, some of your picks will be given the Respect that they deserve, whereas others will be quickly given The Kill. Listener, start your engines! We’re gearing up to talk about cars on this episode of Baconsale. Unfortunately, Kent & Joel know as much about cars as they do sports, but Zack is a motorhead, and we are joined by our automotive enthusiast friends, Adam & Rachel. We’ll each be picking answers for such categories as our first vehicles, the best car for a date, the one we’d buy if money were no object, and the vehicle we would want in a zombie apocalypse. It’s a humbling episode, especially as Joel and Kent are trying to understand horsepower, engine liters, and displacement, but we hope you enjoy the ride as much as we did.

Fear is a tool. And it seems that Matt Reeves is utilizing that tool as much as possible with his version of The Batman. But does this film lean too much into the dark & brooding tone? And will Baconsale ever see Robert Pattinson as the World’s Greatest Detective instead of just a sparkling vampire? Listen as we give our review of The Batman and deftly avoid spoilers for the first part of this BaconBit. However, once we descend into spoiler territory, watch out… because we are vengeance!

It’s a wild night in Gotham City! Twenty-four of Batman’s most notorious foes are on the loose. And every time the Caped Crusader drops them off on the steps of Arkham Asylum, it’s up to the three guards (Joel, Kent & Zack) to decide which level of security each one of these villains needs for their holding cell. Listen as we do our best to keep Kent away from the clutches of Catwoman, try to stop Man-Bat from messing with Zack’s hair, and safely detain the Joker during Joel’s many lunch breaks.

For years, Kent and Joel have downplayed their knowledge of sports and sports-related trivia. But Zack is suspicious that they actually know more than they let on. Therefore, on this episode of Baconsale, Zack is going to quiz the other two on basic sports knowledge, but this time it’s going to be with Joel’s & Kent’s powers combined as Team JK. If they win, they get a sport trophy. However, if they lose, they’ll have to do a choreographed cheer on social media, so the stakes have never been higher.

Some of us at Baconsale haven’t really understood the hype behind the character Boba Fett since he was knocked into the Sarlacc pit by a blind guy with a stick, but will this new Disney Plus series change our minds? Joel, Kent, and Zack have watched all seven episodes and they’re ready to review it for you on this BaconBit. If you haven’t watched it yet, don’t worry, the first part is spoiler free. After a clear warning, we’ll dive into all sorts of spoilers as well as other Star Wars lore like the books and The Clone Wars series.

Baconsale would do anything for love, it seems, because we’re back for a third round of love songs! You’d think that by this point we’d be scraping the bottom of the romantic music barrel, but even we were surprised to discover how many amazing tunes we still hadn’t talked about. Listen as we pick answers for categories such as Most Emotional, How You Feel After That First Kiss, Best Power Ballad, and Favorite Foreign Language Love Song. There is so much love in the room on this episode…that is, until Kent brings the room down with his hipster picks. Nevertheless, you should still check out our playlist below.

After our amazing showing in the Summer Olympics, Baconsale has been invited to participate in the Winter Olympics. We’ll first share a brief history of the Winter Games, then Kent, Joel, and Zack will rank each sport and choose a champion to compete in that event. And since these sports are more dangerous than the summer ones, the stakes have never been higher. Hear Joel’s proposed adjustments to our official Baconsalia uniforms, beware of Kent’s snowboarder bias, and learn how Zack became a human blanket.

Oh no! Zack was invited to two different sleepovers on the same night at the same time. How ever will he choose which one to go to? It’s up to Kent and Joel, who are hosting the separate shindigs, to pick the best possible party video games that will entice Zack to attend their event. And it’s a schoolyard pick, so they’re both choosing from the same list and stealing games (and guests) from one another. Is Super Smash Bros. the ultimate? Will Baconsale start a Dance Dance Revolution? Who is the greatest Guitar Hero? Baby, can you see our Halo?

What is that sound? Those crunching noises pervading the air? Well, it seems as if Baconsale has a few chips left in our bag of bags, and Joel, Kent & Zack are ready to rank! No crackers are allowed this time as we take on Tostitos, meditate on Miss Vickie’s, pick on Pringles, review Ruffles, and debate Doritos. And as we tier 21 of these popular corn & potato snacks, watch out for wooofs of onion, Zack’s impromptu slogans, and salt shaming. Oh, and does anyone want to count how many times we say the word “cheese”?

We didn’t ask for this gift to accurately predict everything that’s going to happen during the upcoming year, but by golly we’re going to share it with others! In what is considered by some to be the tabloid episode of Baconsale, Joel, Kent & Zack are each going to do their best to forecast the pop culture future once again. We’ll uncover chocolate conspiracies, discover demonic celebrity deals, and prognosticate Pete Davidson’s dating life. Plus, we’ll also have expert-level sport genre talk, and we’ll share the films we want to flop, and the movies we’re most excited for in 2022.

It’s the start of a new season here on Baconsale, which means it’s time to talk about which movies made an impression on us. Kent, Joel, and “the Worst” Zack have compiled a list of their favorite and least favorite films from the past year. As usual, Kent sticks to movies made in 2021 and, as usual, Joel allows films that he watched for the first time to make his list. Some of our picks are pretty predictable, but we manage to throw a few curve balls in. Enjoy as we try to pronounce Camila Cabello, throw some shade at horror movies, and explain the joy of suffering.

Well, another season of Baconsale is coming to a close, which means it’s time for Kent, Joel, and Zack to wax nostalgic and take a look back at the past year. On this episode, we’re discussing fun episode intros, surprise hits, strange topics, memorable musical moments, and listener interactions. Plus, we’ll be ranking our top three favorite episodes. We even brought some audio clips this time. There are glimpses behind the scenes of how we make the podcast, a lot of laughing, some screaming, plenty of passion, and more than a few matching answers, but we hope you enjoy this self-indulgent end to season seven of Baconsale.

Here we come a-podcasting among the leaves so green! Christmas is a special time of year, and there are certain treats & sweets we tend to eat during the holiday season that make it feel extra magical. On this episode of Baconsale, Zack, Kent, and Joel are going to tier 24 of the most popular yuletide snacks & drinks, including candy canes, hot chocolate, peanut brittle, wassail, fudge, eggnog, fruitcake, and gingerbread. Kent & Zack seem to have similar tastes, while Joel has some passionate opinions on the combination of citrus and orange. And be warned, this episode might make you hungry/nostalgic.

Once again, Baconsale is rolling the dice and participating in a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-style game and letting someone else take the reins of the episode. Our good friend Mats has spent months preparing an interactive competition for Kent, Joel, and Zack, and he’s now ready to unleash his Hunger Games multiverse on our minds and your ears. Along the way, we’ll race for tridents, get in our first fist fights, try to avoid arrows/killer ducks, sleep on bread, and just try to keep ourselves (and our wives) alive.
Press play to judge if Mats is an impartial Dungeon Master.

If there’s something strange in your rural Oklahoma neighborhood, who you gonna call to review it? Baconsale! On this BaconBit, we’re going to review the first true sequel to the Ghostbusters franchise since 1989. But will Ghostbusters: Afterlife hit all the right nostalgia notes? Or will it stumble trying to pander to the fans? You’ll have to listen to our review to find out. We must warn you, however, that Joel can’t tell the difference between Mckenna Grace and Kiernan Shipka. And even if you haven’t seen Ghostbusters: Afterlife yet, you can still listen to the first part of our review, as it is spoiler-free. We’ll warn you when we’re going to cross the spoiler streams.
Podcast says you should press play.

The World is Not Enough for some, and one show was not enough for Baconsale, so here is our second James Bond episode for Dr. No-vember. Kent, Joel, and Zack are going to tier The Living Daylights out of every modern 007 film from Timothy Dalton to Daniel Craig. We’re leaving our Quantum of Solace this time, and there are more fights, but there’s No Time To Die because we have a lot of information to get through, so some of us will just have to Die Another Day….and become a Spectre.
Okay, enough Bond puns. We don’t want to Jinx this episode. Press play.
