Awareness raising is vital. Providing clear and accurate messaging helps stop the spread of #Ebola and tackles widespread discrimination toward those infected. Steven Kaindaneh, Policy and Programme Manager for Christian Aid Sierra Leone, speaks about the challenges faced by Ebola survivors once cleared of infection. Survivors often return home to the destruction of their belongings. They are stigmatised by friends and family, often roaming the streets, unable to get a job. Our partners are working to spread life-saving messages to people in Sierra Leone, so far reaching 1.2 million through radio messages.

After a record breaking 700,000 people took to the streets around the world demanding action to stop climate change, world leaders met at the UN Climate Summit in New York. Christian Aid's Joe Ware sums up what was achieved and what is coming up in a crucial 14 months for the climate.
This sit-rep comes from Amy Merone, Christian Aid's Communications Officer for the Middle East, who is currently visiting our partners in Gaza. Upon arriving in Gaza, Amy told us: ‘I walked past homes that look like dolls houses with their fronts ripped off, exposing the remains of people’s homes.’ It was estimated that over 108,000 Palestinians were made homeless as a result of the conflict.

Christian Aid's country manager, Ted Bonpin, reports from Philippines on the current situation in the country after Typhoon Washi. The typhoon swept through the country over the weekend of 17-18 December, and our partners are on the ground assessing the situation and meeting the needs of affected communities.
The final push: after travelling through 10 countries, 150 African climate activists march on the seat of power in Pretoria to deliver their calls for climate justice in Durban. Shouts of "Don't kill kyoto" and "Climate justice now!" rang out over the heads of the farmers, musicians, women's rights campaigners, artists and scouts who have put their heart and soul into two weeks of gruelling campaigning to call African leaders to support demands for climate justice.
