200 episodes! When we started this podcast to bring light to the darkness brought on by the pandemic, we never thought we would be doing it years later and have 200 episodes. We so appreciate our listeners!! And I also want to thank my two co-hosts over the years, Amy and Colleen, for their HUGE contributions to the podcast. This episode is a bit different, it has a theme. All of the stories are about fighting cancer with hope and some amazing things that people are doing to help bring that hope to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their families. I promise, it is not a downer even though it does deal with cancer. This is dedicated to all of those who have fought the battle against cancer! Come get inspired.

Stop reading. Just dive in blind. The stories this week are pretty amazing, so just go for it. Okay, if you are still reading you obviously are not the fun-loving spontaneous person I though you were, but okay. Here come the spoilers. We have a story about a sanitation worker who has kept some trophies over the years, enough to make a mini museum with a message. Then we will talk elephants and the amazing things that Dr. Paula Kahumbu is doing to save these African giants. Then we will talk about some neuroscience discoveries that may make a big difference in how we look at reforming prisoners. Now that you read this, I hop you will finally just go listen. You know you want to.

Another week, and another episode chock full of inspiration! This episode does contain some adult subjects (not explicit), so it may not be the best episode to listen to if you have younger ears about. The first story is about some unsung heroes who did amazing things but almost nobody knows about them. Then we talk about the brave and bold Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, who has saved thousands of young women from a life as slaves during a brutal conflict in Africa. Finally, we talk about a young man who turned a shark attack into a mission. Come bask in the inspiration.

Hey look at that-- we got two in a row now. We are going to try to get back to our every Wednesday releases. This is a fun episode, even though it has a couple discussions about mental illness. The first story is about Aurikatariina, the self-proclaimed "best cleaner in the world", who uses cleaning houses to improve mental health. Then there is the amazing Nellie Bly, who practically invented investigative journalism, improved mental health care, traveled around the world and well, did not fit the mold of the women of the late 1800s. You will become a fan of Nellie Bly. Finally, got a couple of quick stories about marathons, that may just inspire you to run. Come have a listen and find something to inspire you.

Life is still crazy, but we need inspiration more now than ever and we want to share it with you. This episode is lots of fun and is full of inspiration. First, there is the story of how some Africans are making a difference while learning to live with nature. Next, the unbelievable true story of a man who made a beer run to Vietnam, during the war, to remind his friends that they are cared about. It is a crazy story, but definitely one you won't want to miss. Finally, there are the Nine Nanas who covertly helped their neighbors for more than 30 years. You will love this episode!

Welcome to episode 170. We have a little bit of everything in this episode, baseball, parenting, the Olympics and mental health. Just a quick warning, while not at all explicit, there are some more adult issues dealing with mental health in this episode, so parental discretion is advised. We talk about Drew Robison trading tragedy for hope. Then a bit more mental health discussing the funny, smart, and pretty dang wise Kristina Kuzmic, a new hero of mine. Then we finish up with some Olympic highlights. There is definitely some inspiration to be found.

Arrrrgh. We were all set to get this podcast out on time, and then our dumb cat escaped and led us on a merry chase through the neighborhood. Anyways, this is a great episode. Lots of inspiration to be found. We start with a woman who is ensuring that Black children get the same opportunities to learn to the life saving ability to swim. Then we get into Bob Moore, who with his wife Charlee, created an international company out of an old mill and showed their employees that people were more important than profits. We finish up with a pastor who feeds souls and the bellies of his flock by ministering through a neighborhood garden in an area with serious food scarcity. Have a listen and get your inspiration fed.

Colleen talks about a rapper who runs a daycare and how Jeopardy fame is helping fight pancreatic cancer. What is awesome? Three very inspirational stories this week. First Colleen talks about how Lego MRI machines are making hospital visits less scary. Teresa talks about Diana Nyad, the first person to swim from Cuba to the Florida Keys, through shark-infested water, without a shark cage, at 64. Her never give-up attitude is contagious. And Colleen finishes with a story about Source America, an agency that helps disabled people find jobs. Join us and find your inspiration!

We hope everyone had a great Halloween last night. Now that the spooky is over, we can focus on inspiring stories. Sadly, we lost Matthew Perry over the weekend, so Teresa has a bit of a memorial for this very funny Friend, who did more than make people laugh. Then Colleen talks about the tragic start for AMBER Alerts, and how it these alerts are making a difference and saving lives, as well as the other alerts inspired by AMBER alerts. Then Teresa wraps it up with a story about three brothers who have made a dramatic difference in the environment of their home in Indonesia. These are some really great stories. Join us!

It's starting to get dark out early. As winter settles in, there is just more darkness. But if you look for it, you can find the light. Whether it is a nice cozy fire or a friend's smile, there is light to find. We are bringing the light with three stories this week. First, Colleen tells a tale of community and friendship, as a town takes care of their own. Teresa then talks about Ana's Story, a book by Jenna Bush, that shows that even in some of the darkest of circumstances, holding onto hope can eventually bring you to the light. Finally, Colleen talks about the importance of friendship and gives some tips on how making time for your friends can dramatically improve your life.

Wow! 150 episodes. It has gone by so fast. This is a wonderful episode. Colleen talks about the civilian astronauts of Space X's Inspiration 4 mission and how that mission raised millions for St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. You will love this story! It has all the good feels to it! Teresa tells the tale of how tragedy sometimes leads to good things with a story that starts with an act of evil and turns into a positive and uplifting program, and then talks about two amazing stories coming out of Yosemite National Park. Get ready to be inspired!

What a great week for inspiration! Teresa brings you the amazing story of Jann Mardenborough, a video gamer who was so skilled at racing games, he actually became a successful racecar driver. The movie currently in theaters, Gran Turismo, is about this amazing young man. Colleen has two awesome stories. One is a heartwarming story about some college folks who paid back an older co-worker for all the love and support she has provided them. The other is about José M. Hernández, who went from a migrant farm worker to a NASA astronaut. These are some great stories that will put a smile on your face and inspiration in your heart.

This episode is all kinds of inspirational. First, you have Colleen talking about one of my favorite stories, Musa Motha, an incredible one-legged dancer. If you haven't seen him dance, watch the YouTube video link below. You will be in awe! Colleen also talks about a special camp that is set up to help kids with missing or different limbs learn to cope with their differences in a positive way. Teresa then talks about Peace Pilgrim. Yep, that's her name and you can kind of guess she is a little different with a name like that. But her story is inspiring as she advocated peace while walking across the United States SEVEN times and for 28 years. Talk about a mission. You have to hear the story.

And don't forget to check out Musa Motha.

Loving the summer weather here in the Pacific Northwest. Beautiful skies, not too hot, and of course, our home state of Oregon is beautiful. Something about all that blue sky puts a smile on my face and makes a little more room to be inspired. This week, Teresa talks about Tina Welling and how she helped prisoners learn about themselves through journaling, and how it helped her find herself. Colleen talks about a cool program that uses restoring cars as a way to keep kids off the streets while teaching valuable skills. And finally, Teresa gives an update on 4Oceans (previously discussed in episode 19), and a little bit about a new type of challenge that may change how you look at plastics in your life. Fantastic stories await. Come get inspired.

We are back from a little rest and ready to inspire once again!  Colleen is going to talk about her trip to Arlington, Virginia, and her visit to the historic Torpedo Factory.  It is 100% not what you are thinking.  It's so cool!  She also talks about an Instagram and YouTube project that gives voices and comfort to differently-abled people, that started with a classroom project and now is huge.  Teresa is going to tell an amazing story of strength and compassion, where a woman who seemed to be getting battered by life found the strength to help people that go largely unseen and unheard.  It's a truly incredible story that you have to hear.

Need an inspiration break?  Here it is.  Three great stories to inspire you and to remember the good in the world.  Colleen shares a story about a grumpy cat that inspired her owner to help elderly pet owners and the author of the Mitford series, who against the odds became a New York Times Best Selling Author, and created the charming people of Mitford.  Teresa talks about Clara Hale, who took in babies nobody wanted, reunited families, and pioneered a new way to deal with drug-addicted mothers and their babies.  Truly a heroic person and an inspiration.  Great stories this week, we would love for you to join us.

We were lucky enough to be able to interview Jon Slifka.  You probably haven't heard of him, but you will, and for good reason.  Jon is an amazing advocate for the disabled community in Connecticut and elsewhere.  In a wheelchair himself, Jon has used his experience to help improve access and quality of life for other people with disabilities.  And the part we love best about Jon is his amazing attitude.  He has made his disability a strength and is using it to help others.  An up-and-coming inspirational speaker, you are going to get to hear Jon before he becomes a household name.  We are so thrilled to be able to share this interview with you and are so inspired by Jon Slifka.  Enjoy!

In a world where there is so much just negative and trashy stuff, it's nice to find some kindness, decency, and wholesomeness. We found some and we are willing to share it with you. Starting off, Jerry Seinfeld's wife, Jessica Seinfeld, is not only a superstar in the kitchen, with a lot of great cookbooks, but she is also helping young families in need in New York City. Some of our younger listeners may not be familiar with Charlie Brown and Snoopy, but our older listeners no doubt have some found memories of Charles Schulz's group in Peanuts. For 50 years, Charles Schulz brought wholesome humor to newspapers and television. Everyone should learn more about as well as learn from, Charles Schulz. Finally, hear about a barber in Cincinnati who is giving his time to help special needs children look their best. Lots of great stuff. It's like a purifying cleanse of decency washing over you. Give it a try, you will feel better.

Theodore Roosevelt- President, Rough Rider, Soldier and . . . nature lover? Of all the US Presidents, Theodore Roosevelt may have the most macho image, but he was also thinking about preserving the beauty and resources of the United States for future generations. This guy is really very interesting. We also have a story about a cat, reunited across the globe, with the little girl who had to leave him behind when the Russians invaded Ukraine. The number of people who made the effort to ensure this reunion will amaze and inspire you. Finally, a simple story about a kid who loves to make Easter Baskets for the less fortunate and how he is turbo-charging this project to help bring a smile to as many kids' faces as he can. Alright. I admit it. That is not a great title. But I am super tired and it's late. So it is what it is. That does not mean that the stories aren't first-rate and inspiring. Colleen talks about the Home Edit ladies, which is not just a story about being organized, but a story about some pretty amazing strength. And speaking of strength, Teresa talks about elderly athletes, some over 100 years old, that are still making most of us look like wimps. Hard not to be inspired by these amazing folks that are not letting age stop them from being awe-inspiring. And Teresa talks about some amazing NASCAR drivers who are making a huge difference for people off the track. Honestly, these are really good stories, despite the title. I just need to get to bed. Enjoy!

It's really Spring- everything is in bloom and allergies abound!! We love this time of year, nature is waking up and the sun is shining a bit more. A great time to go outside, take a deep breath, and listen to some inspiring stories. While you check out those new blooms, think about the honeybees, and how they need our help. Teresa will talk about a way to help the bees using some science and easier methods as well. Colleen talks about her teen idol, the amazing Olivia Newton John, who besides having such a huge impact on entertainment, also made an impact on the fight against cancer. And then Teresa will talk about the little-known, but absolutely fearless Kitty O'Neil, a deaf woman who broke the rules and the world records. Something for everybody in this episode!

Spring is in the air and so is inspiration! Teresa starts off with the amazing story of Birute Galidakas, who lived in the jungles of Borneo for years studying and helping to protect the wild orangutans. Then there is the magic of the Landfill Harmonic, a group of children from Paraguay, who use instruments made out of landfill garbage, to play incredible music around the world. And Colleen talks about the wonder and comfort of the Danish tradition of Hygee (sounds like HOO-GA). You will feel cozy, just learning about it. Grab a blanket and a cup of tea and have a listen.

Ha ha.  LOL.  LMAO.  🤣.  However you say it, everyone loves to laugh.  This week we cover the health benefits of laughter and Carol Burnett, who is one funny lady, and one of the first Queens of Comedy.  Carol's humor, compassion, and love make her one of our favorite people!  And laughter is not the only way to feel good- you can dance your pants off too.  Although I can pretty much guarantee that you can't dance as well as the incredibly talented Misty Copeland,  who is changing the face of ballet!  You are going to love this episode.  Thanks for joining us!

This episode covers a lot of great inspiration!  It starts off with Colleen talking about the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drumond, who used her life being turned upside down to start a blog that turned into something much bigger (and more delicious).  Then Teresa and Colleen discuss the absolutely brilliant and brave women behind the Hidden Figures book and movie, and a few other "human computers" that made the early NASA programs possible.  These women were truly trailblazers for women of color!  And finally, Teresa has a few dog related stories that really are about humans treating others with kindness.  There is something for everybody in this episode.  You will be inspired!

Happy February!  So, a little different this week, instead of two shorts and a long story, we have two longer stories.  In celebration of Black History Month, we have a story about the first Black Supreme Court Justice and a true hero of the Civil Rights Movement, Thurgood Marshall.  Then, we have the story of three brave women who challenged their role in war and made significant contributions to their side.  Wars are not won by soldiers alone and these women were as brave as any soldier.  These are some great stories and you are going to feel inspired!

Inspiration.  That is what you will find in this episode, plain and simple.  Teresa continues her deep dive with Part 2 on the indomitable Coretta Scott King.  Everybody should know about this woman and her major role in the Civil Rights Movement.  There are also some great stories of people opening up their homes and businesses to help out people (and animals) left in the cold.  And learn about Myrtilla Miner who opened up one of the first schools for Black girls in the years leading up to the American Civil War.  Take approximately 28 minutes from your day and drink in the inspiration!

Here in the States, we just celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This amazing civil rights leader is well-known around the world. What is not as well known is the story of Coretta Scott King, MLK's wife. This woman is so inspiring and played a huge role in Martin Luther King's success and the civil rights movement. This is a story that needs to be told and celebrated right alongside Martin Luther King's story, because his story is intertwined with her story. So many things to talk about, Coretta's story will take two episodes. We also have a heartwarming story of some kids in Minnesota looking out for their classmates with disabilities and a Native American runner who is building a community across the country with other indigenous people. This is a must-listen to episode!

It's a crazy world we live in and so many things going on right now. Sometimes you need to just slow down, turn off the noise, and focus on yourself. Give yourself a little time to recharge and get inspired to go out and do battle again. Here is some fuel for you this week to get you ready to fight the good fight! Amy starts off with an inspirational story of a woman paying it back and using her own past to fight for the future of other women who can use a little help. Teresa then tells the story of A Journal for Jordan, which is a different kind of love story about two parents and their love for each other and their child. Caution, it's a bit of a tear-jerker, but still an amazing story. And Teresa wraps it up with a story about some country musicians and songwriters who are using their talents to help veterans and other people with PTSD make something beautiful from tragedy.

This week, Teresa starts off with two stories about indigenous American women doing some great things and inspiring so many people with their stories. Then Amy does a deep dive on Florence Nightingale, who while famous for being a nurse, used evidence and statistics to change medicine and exercise some serious Girl Power! Amy brings it home with a spin off story from Florence with Alexis Soyer, a chef, and humanitarian who was using food to heal way ahead of his time. So like much of the world, we are suffering through a heatwave this week. Every year it is just getting hotter and hotter. Our planet is on fire (in some places literally). We need to muster all the positive energy we can so we must seek out the good and the light. This week, we bring you stories to help nurture that positive energy so you can let it build and then release it out into the world. First up are more stories of hope and perseverance from Ukraine, this time featuring actor and WWE Wrestler John Cena. John has fulfilled more Make a Wish Foundation Wishes than any other person and he does not disappoint a huge fan in Ukraine. Then Teresa focuses on David Egan, an advocate and public speaker promoting treating the disabled with respect and dignity while looking at them for what they can do, not what they can't do. David, who has Down's Syndrome has not let it stop him one bit, and there is a lot to learn from this man. Amy wraps up with two stories out of Oregon about how people are making the outdoors more accessible for those with wheelchairs or limited mobility. Find a spot near a pool or a lake, or find a beach with a breeze, kick back and have a listen. Let's refill out positive energy and then release it into the world.

Summer is going full blast! Well at least here in the Pacific Northwest, and apparently the UK- weird. Well anyway, it's hot. But we do have some fantastic inspiring tales this week. Teresa starts off with the story of a father that gave his son a gift that was 10 years in the making, and helped a lot of other people along the way. Amy introduces us to New York Times columnist, Suleika Jaouad, who documented her battle with cancer in a weekly column and then went on a road trip to meet some of the people who she interacted with during her recovery. It's a really moving story and you are going to become a fan of this woman! Amy finishes up with a story about an Oregon charity that provides books to inmates in our state and federal penitentiaries. It's inspired us to do our own book drive to provide literature to those who are incarcerated. Take a "you" break, recharge your inspiration batteries, and go shine like a light in the darkness.

The war in Ukraine still wages on, with countless people dying from the Russian invasion. Whenever we can, we like to highlight the bright spots in this tragic war. We have touched on Chef José Andrés before, but this guy deserves a lot more attention. Amy does a deep dive on this Chef who travels the world to feed those in need under the direst circumstances. You have to hear about this guy. But first, Teresa starts off with two short stories about generational torches being passed in communities with groups that make a difference. Amy finishes the episode off with a story about an amazing charity that is changing lives around the world with a rugged line of bicycles. These bicycles are changing how people live in some of the poorest countries in the world. This is a great episode. Pour yourself a nice glass of ice tea, find a patch of shade, and have a listen.

So many dark things taking up everyone's attention. It is too easy to be swallowed up in the darkness, so we must seek the light and the hope. Things can get better and change will come, but we got to make it through to the other side. Here are some stories that will help shine a light. Amy starts off with three short stories about women fostering literacy in creative ways. Teresa takes on Part 2 of Jackie Robinson, focusing on his role as an activist pushing for equal rights for Blacks in America, even before the Civil Rights Movement took off. Then Teresa finishes off with an Instagram movement for Dad Gang, where Black fathers celebrate their role in their children's lives and support each other. These dads are bringing it!

It is going to be dark for a while. Find the lights that guide your way. Now, more than ever, is the time to be the change you want to see in the world!

Our first 2 part episode! Not only was Jackie Robinson a superstar baseball player and the first Black major league player, but he was also an important civil rights activist. There is just too much inspiration to contain in one episode so we are doing it in two. Amy starts off with a fantastic story about a farm that is helping homeless and at-risk youth, right here in our own backyard. Teresa then dives into Part I of Jackie Robinson, about breaking the color barrier in sports and his phenomenal career. Then Teresa wraps it up with a happy ending to a story that made national news for bigotry and how birdwatching pays off big time. There is a lot to unpack in this episode, but all of it is inspiring.

Ok- so we did Bob Goff in episode 14, but we find him so inspiring we are doing it again.  And this one we are doing it a little differently.  We are tag-teaming this episode as we discuss Bob's latest book Undistracted.  This book is all about love and being in the moment with those you love, and we love it!  Teresa also hits a few quick stories about fathers that are going above and beyond for their children, just in time for Father's Day!  Have a listen.  Get inspired.

So we had a slight COVID-induced break, but we will be back on schedule soon. The downtime was just an opportunity to find more and more inspiring people and stories. This week, Teresa starts us off with Kechi Okwuchi, the Nigerian-American singer who made it as a finalist on America's Got Talent despite having been horribly burned in a plane crash. She refuses to let her scars define her and has gone on to be a music powerhouse and author. Amy deep dives on Jon Batiste whose New Orleans-influenced jazz will get you out of your seat and dancing- but also it's a sweet, sweet love story. You are going to love this guy! Amy wraps it up with a Royal Recap where Princess Diana's sons continue their mother's mission to make a difference to others in this world. We are back! And we have got some inspiring to do!

2022 is going by so fast- we are already closing out May! And while there is so much negativity in the news right now- so much pain and death, we need to search for the bright spots. It is too easy to fixate on the bad of this world and miss all the beauty. Here is just our little ray of sunshine to help you through the shadows. Amy shares the story of a modern take on an older Mexican folk art tradition being used to help raise money for a children's hospital. Then she deep dives into Mandisa, the Christian singer whose journey of faith is tested over and over, and yet she always finds the light. And bringing up the rear, Teresa shares two stories of people making a difference for those less fortunate, here in the United States and abroad. Everyone can use a dose of inspiration right now- come innoculate yourself against the darkness!

It's not only people who can inspire- our furry friends can be a fabulous source of comfort, companionship, love, and yes, inspiration. We have got some great animal stories in this episode, but first, Teresa kicks it off with two stories about ordinary people doing some extraordinary things to help the people of Ukraine. Then there is the story of Molly, a doggie pet detective, who helps find lost pets with her human assistant. Amy wraps it up with an amazing story about a "dog grandma" whose life changes as a result of a very special canine guest. This week may be a little on the fluffier (or maybe the furry) side of things, but right now, everybody could use a little fluff.

Spring has sprung.  Flowers are in bloom.  And lawns are overgrown.  But inspiration is also blossoming.  Teresa starts off with some quick-hit stories about celebrities who are making a difference for others.  Then Teresa deep dives into the remarkable Jane Goodall, famous for living with the chimps, but has done so much more for the natural world.  It is a story you have to hear.  And then Amy brings it home with a story about how the old-fashioned tradition of mending clothes is making a comeback as a cost-saving and ecologically friendly alternative to fast fashion.  Mow that lawn and then take a well-deserved break and have a listen.

It's already the last week of April- and hopefully, all of the showers we have had will bring lots of flowers next month. We are serving up some incredible stories that will fill you with inspiration. First, Teresa brings you the bitter-sweet story of a man, who despite having ALS that has paralyzed him and taken away his ability to speak, has found an even louder voice in his fight to help improve healthcare for the sick and elderly. Amy then takes us to Spain, where an architect, Antoni Gaudi, designed and built things that were way before their time and has one amazing building that has continued his vision for almost 100 years after his death. Then Amy tells us a story of how a note in a bottle connected people on different continents. This is the burst of inspiration you need this week!

We start off with the mother of an autistic child who is reaching out to other parents about raising children on the spectrum and informing others how they can be an autism ally. Then Teresa takes on Dr. Fauci who not only has taken on Covid, but Aids, Ebola, and SARS as America's chief immunologist. Dr. Fauci has sacrificed protecting America under seven Presidents and there is way more to this man than what you see on tv. Finally, the tragic but inspiring story of Starsky and Hutch actor, Paul Michael Glaser, and how AIDS impacted his family and spurned a movement to help provide for children afflicted with AIDS all around the world. So we are having a very weird week, with snow in April. Hasn't happened in Portland since 1934. So, while we huddle in for the Spring sleet and snow, we bring gifts of inspiration. Amy tells about a construction company that not only employs people who need a second chance, they also provide temporary lodging to help them get back up on their feet and these incredible temporary homes are popping up all around the country. Teresa takes on the incredible Audrey Hepburn, who may be most famous for her acting career, but made a far more lasting impact after retiring from acting and taking on being an ambassador and advocate for Unicef. She spent her life feeding children all over the world. Finally, despite all of the horrors going on in Ukraine, there are some more amazing stories coming out about ordinary people doing extraordinary things in Ukraine. We need to look for the light in the darkness. Let's all strive to be points of light.

Ok- we have been away for a couple of weeks. Some technical issues on top of Covid has put us a bit behind, but we have so many inspiring stories to get out so we will be playing catch-up. One of the unfortunate sides of Covid is that we are doing the podcast remotely, so sorry that the audio quality is a little off. We are working on trying to improve it. Anyways, still some fantastic stories this week. Teresa starts off with the story of a motel owner who is using his motel to help the less fortunate. Amy talks about a beloved children's author, Beverly Cleary, who wrote fantastic stories for children, all centered around Portland. And then Amy finishes with the story of an 8-year-old graphic novelist who got his start in an unusual and creative way. Have a listen, hear some great stories, and find something to inspire you!

Inspiration is in the air.  Amy gives us some quick updates on some of the subjects of prior episodes.  Teresa then goes through the life and passions of the Amazing Betty White, who we lost just a few days ago.  Everyone loves Betty White, and you will love her and be inspired by her even more after you hear this podcast.  Finally, we love animals just like Betty White, and so we have two animal stories that might tug on your heartstrings a bit.  Have a listen, take some deep breaths and let the inspiration flow into you!

Ok. Just to be upfront, this episode includes puppies in bowties. PUPPIES IN BOWTIES! How can you get more adorable than that? By having a young man sew them to help get pets in shelters adopted. Our main story is not quite so light, dealing with overcoming the damaging effects of so-called "gay conversion therapy". Julie Rodgers bravely tells her story of how she went from the face of gay conversion camps to an outspoken activist against the practice that has traumatized far too may young people. Check out her book, Outlove: A Queer Christian Survival Story. Amy then lightens the mood with the heartwarming story of how two nurses are bringing birthday celebrations to kids that might otherwise not have a birthday. These ladies are awesome and doing so much good in the world. This episode has a little bit of everything, plus puppies in bowties. What are you waiting for? Have a listen.

Wow- the last week of 2021! Where has the year gone? We are finishing 2021 with a bang- three great inspiration stories. Teresa starts us off with Verônica Silva Hipólito, the amazing para-athlete who has overcome so many challenges but never gives up. Her story is simply amazing! Then Amy deep dives on the amazing life of Chef Julia Childs. This Chef's love of bringing the joy of cooking to so many people has changed the world and is probably the progenitor of all of the cooking shows we now enjoy. Her passion for food is contagious! Amy continues her streak of crocheting stories, but with a twist. Senior citizens are using crocheting to make a difference for homeless people all around the country while giving themselves purpose. There is one last question and answer session to close out 2021!

Yay! Our first Christmas episode! The holidays can be filled with so much joy, but they can also be a time people struggle. This episode is all about finding hope in the holidays and a reminder that everyone makes a difference. We start off with Amy talking about The Thirteen Gifts, a story of tragedy that leads to hope and kindness for a family and how they pay that forward in love. Then Teresa deep dives into the holiday classic, It's a Wonderful Life, and the story of George Bailey, a man that is given the gift of seeing a world where he never existed and shown how much impact even the little things he did made in the lives of the people around him. It is such a great reminder that everyone makes a difference! Then there is the story of the miraculous Christmas Truce, where for one brief Christmas Day in 1914, there was hope in one of the most grisly fields of combat in World War I. There is a quick-fire question-and-answer session with Amy to top off the holiday theme.

We wish all of our listeners a safe and happy holiday, full of joy and hope! Whatever holiday you celebrate, you make a difference in the world! Find your inspiration and let your light shine!

Just one more week until Thanksgiving. November is moving fast! Time to take a moment to slow down, breathe deep, and find some inspiration. This week, Amy starts off with a contest set up by famous documentary filmmaker, Ken Burns, which celebrates hometown pride. Teresa does a deep dive on Green Beret and football play Nate Boyer who is using football to tell the story of one America and help close the divide between Americans by listening to what we have in common rather than what sets us apart. Finally, Teresa talks about 52 Lives, a group that picks one person or family each week and asks the community to change their lives. Whether it is making a child's last few days magical or helping a student's dream of going to college, communities come together to make something amazing happen. It's a beautiful story, and something we should recreate here in the US. There is a Thanksgiving-themed QandA with Teresa. Wrap up in a warm blanket of inspiration and find a little Zen.

People and restaurants are helping oysters make a come-back in NYC! There is also a quick Q&A with Teresa in the hot seat. You can't miss Episode 50 or you will regret it, probably forever. Our first interview episode! And its with the owner of Peacebunny Island, Caleb Smith, who Amy first discussed in Episode 17. For those not familiar, Peacebunny Island is an actual island, where Caleb Smith raises bunnies to be used for birthday parties, schools, old folks' homes, and even as comfort animals following tragedies like school shootings. Amy hits Calebs 10 key values, which we can all learn from, we have our interview with Caleb. Sorry for the audio quality, we had to change recording methods unexpectantly, but Caleb may very well be one of the most impressive 16 year-olds you ever hear. His attitude and maturity are amazing and what he has accomplished is incredible! It is a must hear interview. Teresa follows up with Robert Kenny, the YouTube star of his popular channel Dad, How do I? This dad teaches kids without a father figure how to do everything from changing a tire to having personal integrity, and he does it with so much kindness. This is a fun episode with lots of inspiration!
