Copperopolis (guitar study) – Khem One/Kim Cascone
Kim’s new work as Khem One focuses on the electric guitar as a spiritual conduit, a sort of divining rod used to find hidden veins of gold underground.
"The guitar piece on this seven inch record is a study for a larger work in progress titled “Copperopolis” and was composed and recorded in my studio while writing a modal piece for his Khem One performance at the Drone Cinema Film Festival in Seattle in April of this year.
The larger work “Copperopolis” is currently taking form as slabs of half-speed guitars pumped through stacked fuzz boxes pumped into a row of glowing vacuum tubes, mixed with recordings of the ghostly metallic clanging of sunken ships, slathered with malfunctioning synthesizers and varnished with anodized sheets of feedback and static."

"Copperopolis (guitar study)" is one sided limited edition 7 inch mono lathe cut, that was cut in an edition of 10 with only 7 being made available to the general public.
