Are you looking to jump into the Podcasting 2.0 Value 4 Value Model but don't understand a damn thing anyone is talking about when it comes to all this satoshi, nodes, sphinx, etc?
So are we!
Join us on the bleeding edge of streaming satoshis for podcasters as we examine the value for value business model.
Picture this: we're diving into the wild world of HLS, or HTTP Live Streaming, because apparently, podcasting needed a fancy new acronym to spice up the already chaotic mix of audio and video content. This isn’t just any tech talk, though; we’re questioning if we’re even solving a problem that exists or if we’re just adding more jargon to confuse the masses.
I mean, is anyone really crying out for better video podcasting tech? Or are we just trying to keep up with the YouTube cool kids who’ve already perfected the art of distraction? Spoiler alert: the answer is probably more ironic than you’d think. As we explore how HLS breaks videos into tiny chunks, allowing seamless transitions and dynamic quality adjustments, we also ponder if this is really innovation or just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Are we actually creating a better user experience, or just making it easier for advertisers to track our every move? It's a slippery slope, folks, and we’re here for the ride.
Breaking Down HLSLet’s break it down: HLS could actually save us cash by optimizing bandwidth usage. Remember when we’d watch video podcasts loaded with high-res content that our devices couldn’t even handle? Yeah, that’s about to change. With HLS, we can serve the right quality for the right device, so you can watch that 4K video on your desktop and avoid buffering like a pro. But here’s the kicker: while the tech sounds great, we’re left scratching our heads about the overall cost of hosting and whether this is just another excuse for companies to raise prices.
Sure, we can track how long people are engaging with our content, but let’s be real—are we doing this to enhance the viewer experience or to make advertisers happy? The whole thing feels a bit like we’re trying to sell ice to Eskimos.
Is Video Really The Future? As we wrap things up, we’re reflecting on the absurdity of it all. Is video really the future of podcasting, or are we just following trends because everyone else is? I mean, when was the last time you wished your favorite podcast was a video instead? Yeah, didn’t think so.
We’re bombarded with video content everywhere we turn, yet somehow the charm of an audio podcast remains. So, is HLS the savior of podcasting or just another shiny object to distract us from the real issues? You’ll have to tune in to find out, but one thing’s for sure: the future of podcasting is going to be anything but boring.
Takeaways:* So, like, HLS is totally shaking up the podcasting world, but seriously, are we even solving a problem here? * HTTP Live Streaming, or HLS, is basically the new cool kid on the block, but is it even worth the hype? * We’ve got to think about who benefits from HLS – is it the podcasters or just the advertisers? * Video podcasts are fancy, but if they cost a fortune to host, who’s really gonna bother? * Sure, HLS lets us see how far people listen, but is that really the game changer we’ve been waiting for? * In the end, it’s a wild ride figuring out whether HLS is revolutionary or just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

So, let’s get real about the podcasting scene and this crazy concept of ‘value for value.’ It’s like, when you hear it, you might think, ‘Oh great, another buzzword,’ but hold your horses! Our hosts, Dave and Daniel, are here to unpack this idea with a good dose of sarcasm and wit.
They start by discussing how many podcasters feel their legitimacy hinges on securing that sweet sponsorship deal. Seriously, why do we still tie our worth to advertisers? It’s like saying your podcast is only good if someone’s paying you to talk about toothpaste. No thanks! They argue that the real value comes from the connection you build with your listeners, which is way more important than any sponsor deal could ever be.
Then, they get into the tech aspect, where things get spicy with the mention of streaming satoshis. Like, what even is that? It’s a way to send tiny payments while you listen, but the hosts get into the nitty-gritty of why that might not be the golden ticket we all hope for. They share a laugh about how certain payment platforms have these ridiculous fees that make micropayments basically non-existent. Can you imagine trying to send your podcaster a couple of cents, only for the platform to gobble it all up? It’s a comedy of errors waiting to happen!
By the end, they’re pondering the future of this ‘value for value’ model and whether it’ll actually pan out or if we’ll just be stuck in the same old cycle of sponsorship and ads. They’re like, ‘What if we could create a world where podcasters are rewarded for the actual value they bring?’ It’s a hopeful, yet ironic look at the absurdity of our current monetization strategies. Yeah, we’re all in for the ride, but let’s hope the destination is worth it!
Takeaways:* The future of podcasting is a wild ride, with the concept of value for value leading the charge, but don't be surprised if it gets bumpy along the way. * Value for value isn't just about cash; it's about the joy you bring to listeners, even if you're not rolling in the dough from sponsors. * Remember, just because your podcast isn't a cash cow doesn't mean it's not valuable; sometimes fun is worth more than money, right? * Streaming payments could revolutionize podcast monetization, but you know, only if the tech doesn't implode on itself first. * Watch out for the 'donate' trap! It could get you in trouble with the tax man, so maybe stick to saying 'give back' instead. * The whole payment landscape for podcasts is changing, and not just because Apple got slapped with a court ruling; it's about making things easy for everyone involved.

Video is the hot topic, isn't it? Everyone’s buzzing about how video is creeping into the world of podcasting, and honestly, it’s hard to ignore.
Both Dave and Daniel look into this chaotic whirlpool of video versus audio, dissecting what it means for podcasters today.
They explore the undeniable truth that video isn’t just a fad; it’s here to stay, and it’s reshaping how we perceive and consume content. The discussion flits around the implications of integrating video into podcasts, from the logistical hurdles to the creative opportunities it presents.
What does a video strategy for podcasts even look like?
How do we balance the audio-first approach with the visual demands of platforms like YouTube?
They don’t shy away from the absurdity of the situation, pointing out that our beloved audio-only formats are now competing in a world where thumbnails and visual aesthetics are king.
It’s an engaging conversation that highlights the need for podcasters to rethink their content delivery methods, embracing the reality of video while still cherishing the art of audio storytelling.

Do we even need to bother creating podcast websites anymore? That’s the million-dollar question we’re tackling today. We dive deep into the future of podcasting and whether those little corner spots on the internet are still relevant or just relics of a bygone era. With tools like WordPress getting easier and new platforms popping up, we explore the bizarre landscape of website creation for podcasters—because who doesn't love a good debate about whether to stick with the old-school methods or jump on the latest trends? Spoiler alert: we might not have all the answers, but we sure have a lot of sarcastic opinions on the absurdity of keeping a website in a TikTok world. So grab your headphones and let's figure out if your podcast needs a home or if it’s time to just float in the digital ether like a lost episode.
Alright, folks, let’s dive into the chaotic whirlwind that is podcasting websites! Picture this: we’re sitting around, sipping our overpriced lattes, and the million-dollar question pops up – do we even need to create podcast websites anymore? Spoiler alert: it’s a mess! We’ve got the old-timers clinging to their WordPress themes like it’s a lifebuoy on the sinking ship of the internet, while the new kids are all about the cool, shiny app platforms. Remember when a website was your podcast’s home base? Now it feels like we’re just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. Sure, we’ve got tools like PodPage making life easier, but does anyone actually visit websites anymore? We’ve got TikTok stars telling us to build our empires on their platforms, but what happens when the next big thing comes along and wipes them off the map? It’s a digital Wild West out there, and we’re all just trying to stake our claim.
In this episode, we explore the evolution of podcasting websites and the tools we’ve used over the years, from the dreaded Dreamweaver to the clunky WordPress plugins. And let’s not forget the nightmare of SEO – is it even worth it? With the rise of AI and social media platforms, we’re questioning if a website is still relevant or just an overpriced digital business card. We’ve seen the stats; most folks discover podcasts through word of mouth, so why not just focus on making killer content and let the algorithms do the rest? But hey, if you’re not sending your listeners to your own site, where are they going? We’re all just a click away from being lost in the abyss of the internet, and that’s a sobering thought.
So where does that leave us? Are we website advocates or just holding onto a relic of the past? With sarcasm dripping from our voices, we ponder whether it’s time to toss the website out entirely or double down and make it the best digital hangout spot for our loyal listeners. Because at the end of the day, we want them to find us and hit play, right? If not, we might as well just record our musings into the void and hope someone stumbles upon them while scrolling through TikTok.
As we tumble down this rabbit hole, let’s discuss the absurdity of our reliance on platforms that could vanish tomorrow. We’ve got folks building massive followings on TikTok, but what’s the plan when that platform decides to pull the rug out from under us? In this episode, we dive into the absurdity of the podcasting ecosystem where it seems like the only constant is change. With the rise of AI, we’re seeing more creators turning to tech to enhance their craft, but we can’t help but roll our eyes at the irony – here we are, creators, relying on algorithms to get our art out there. It’s like trying to catch fish with a net full of holes.
We take a hard look at the tools of the trade, from the shiny new website builders to the age-old debate over whether to stick with WordPress or jump ship to something less complicated. And let’s throw in a few laughs about our nostalgic memories of Microsoft Front Page and the dark days of HTML coding. We’ve come a long way, baby! But with convenience comes a trade-off; are we sacrificing quality for ease? It’s a tug-of-war between the need for a digital presence and the reality that our audience may never actually visit our websites.
In the end, it’s not just about having a website; it’s about creating a space where our audience feels connected and engaged. We’re all just trying to navigate this wild west of podcasting, and whether we decide to keep our websites or not, one thing’s for sure – we’re in for one heck of a ride!
Let’s wrap this up with a delightful existential crisis, shall we? As we dissect the current landscape of podcasting websites, we can’t help but wonder: are we all just shouting into the void? In this episode, we tackle the sobering reality that while creating a website may seem essential, it may not be the be-all and end-all for podcasters anymore. With platforms like TikTok and YouTube stealing the spotlight, we’re left pondering whether our websites are just digital ghosts of our past.
We dig into the absurdity of relying on AI and social media algorithms to get our voices heard, only to discover that the very tools we thought would elevate our podcasts could also box us into obscurity. Sure, we’ve got the tools and the tech to build beautiful websites, but how many people actually click through to listen? And what’s the point of all that effort if no one ever gets to our content? We grapple with the irony that our success might hinge more on our presence on social media than on our carefully crafted websites.
In this chaotic discussion, we explore the value of having a website as your podcasting home base, while acknowledging the reality that our digital footprints might be more like breadcrumbs leading to nowhere. We challenge ourselves to rethink our strategy: should we focus on creating shareable content that drives traffic to our sites, or should we just embrace the platforms that are currently thriving? As we wrap up this existential journey, we’re left with one burning question: what’s the future of podcasting, and do we still need a website to thrive in it?

From AI editing that makes your audio sound like a million bucks to devices that could practically do it all for you with just a push of a button, we’re basically living in a sci-fi movie. They’re reminiscing about the good ol’ days of hacking together gear like mad scientists to now, where we can just click a button and boom—content! So, if you’re ready to get your mind blown about the future of podcasting, buckle up because it’s gonna be a wild ride.

Code For Live Item
Alby
Why is it called the Live Item? The term "Live Item Tag" in the podcasting world, also known as "lit," represents an innovation that aims to integrate the live experience from platforms like YouTube into podcast apps. This feature allows listeners to seamlessly tap and jump to listen or watch live content while a podcast is being recorded, effectively bringing the live experience directly to the podcast app.
What It Does The Live Item Tag replaces the traditional "item" tag in an RSS feed and utilizes attributes such as "pending," "live," or "ended" to notify podcast apps of the live status of an episode. Essentially, it bridges the gap between live streaming platforms and podcast apps, enabling a smoother and more integrated experience for both podcasters and listeners. Status Options When using the Live Item Tag, podcasters can update the status of their episodes as "pending," "live," or "ended," providing real-time information to listeners about the live status of a particular episode. This functionality enhances engagement and allows for a more dynamic and interactive podcast experience within the app.
Do We Need To Worry About This? Considering the future progression of podcasting technology, integrating live streaming experiences into podcast apps seems to be a natural evolution. While the current implementation may have its complexities, future tools and platforms are expected to simplify the process, making it more accessible to podcasters.
Coding 2.0 In Libsyn 4 You can add code in Libsyn Four. If you don't know what you're doing, we do not recommend this. Show or Episode Level The use of the Live Item Tag can be implemented at both the show and episode levels, providing flexibility for podcasters to enhance their content with live streaming. This granularity enables precise control over which episodes are presented as live, offering a tailored approach to audience engagement. What Apps Support This? Several podcast apps, including True Fans, Podverse, and Podcast Guru, are embracing the Live Item Tag feature, acknowledging its potential to transform the podcast listening experience. This reflects a growing interest and demand for integrating live streaming functionalities within podcast platforms. See www.modernpodcastapps.com
Streaming Radio Radiolize The mention of streaming radio, particularly its popularity in Europe and the use of online tools for online DJing, showcases the broader landscape of live audio experiences. This acknowledgment underscores the potential for integrating diverse live content into podcasts, catering to varied listener preferences and interests. See Radiolize.com
Content Link The addition of the "podcast:content link" tag further expands the possibilities for linking live content, such as streaming URLs from platforms that provide those links (Mixlr? Radiolize?). This tag acts as a fallback for non-podcast app streaming, diversifying the avenues through which listeners can access live experiences. The Tricky Part? While the Live Item Tag presents a forward-looking solution, its implementation may require careful consideration and technical acumen, especially when dealing with platforms that have yet to fully adopt this technology. However, as the podcasting ecosystem evolves, the tools and processes surrounding the Live Item Tag are expected to become more user-friendly. I Think I Understand It Now Understanding the Live Item Tag involves recognizing its role in seamlessly blending live streaming experiences with traditional podcast episodes within podcast apps. This realization positions podcasters and content creators to deliver more engaging and dynamic content, catering to the evolving preferences of listeners.
Still Pretty Cutting Edge at This Time It's important to acknowledge that the Live Item Tag is currently at the cutting edge of podcasting technology. Its emerging status highlights the ongoing evolution and exploration of new avenues for enhancing the podcasting experience, as well as the potential for further advancements in this space. You Can Have More Than One The flexibility to incorporate multiple content links with different text descriptions or purposes accentuates the versatility of the Live Item Tag. This capability enables podcasters to curate and present diverse live-streaming experiences, catering to their specific content and audience engagement strategies. Alby is Invite Only For Now The mention of Alby, an invite-only platform, underlines the exclusive and progressive nature of the Live Item Tag landscape. This exclusivity hints at the exploration and experimental nature of this feature, as well as its potential to shape the future podcasting ecosystem. BOOSTS! The concept of receiving "streams" and "boostagrams" from listeners highlights the reciprocal and interactive nature of podcasting, indicating a community-driven approach to content creation. This interactivity aligns with the essence of the Live Item Tag, which seeks to foster real-time engagement and connections between podcasters and their audience. In conclusion, the Live Item Tag represents a significant advancement in the integration of live streaming experiences within podcast apps. While it currently stands at the forefront of podcasting technology, its potential to reshape the podcasting landscape and elevate audience engagement is evident. As this innovative feature continues to evolve, podcasters and content creators can anticipate a more seamlessly integrated live podcasting experience, redefining the future of podcasting.

Today we tackle what is an alternate enclosure and when you could possibly use one.
Podcasting doesn't have to be a choice between audio or video. Thanks to alternate enclosures, creators can offer both formats to cater to different preferences. The ability to provide a seamless experience across various media types is a game-changer for podcasters aiming to reach a wider audience.
The question of whether the average podcaster cares about alternate enclosures is a valid one. While not every podcaster may have the resources or desire to produce different media formats, it's essential to acknowledge the diverse needs of listeners. As podcasters, it's our responsibility to stay informed about emerging trends and technologies to better serve our audiences.

Profit From Your Podcast: Proven Strategies To Turn Your Listeners Into a Livelihood
Keep Boosting - Keep Podcasting!
Deplatforming has become a buzzword that often sparks debates about censorship. The recent case of Glenn Beck, a popular conservative radio and podcast host, being removed from Apple Podcasts raised questions about the extent of free speech and the role of centralized platforms. However "deplatforming" incidents are not always rooted in censorship. In this episode, we delve into the complexities behind podcast removals, exploring the Glenn Beck Program case, communication issues with Apple Podcasts, and the need for improved strategies within the podcasting community.
The Glenn Beck Program Removed from Apple Podcasts:
Glenn Beck's removal from Apple Podcasts garnered significant attention due to its knee-jerk association with censorship concerns. However, it is important to differentiate between removal due to potential violations and outright censorship. While the details of the violation were not uncovered until later, it highlights the complexity surrounding podcast removals and the need to respect trademark and copyright laws.
Was it a Technical Issue?
Initially, it was speculated that the removal of the Glenn Beck Program was a technical glitch because there were certainly technical problems with his podcast RSS feed. These included the size (11.5 MB, which led to stability issues), redundant data, and a large cover art file size. We were surprised it actually wasn't a technical issue after all and that his show even worked before this takedown!
A Trademark Violation was to Blame
In the case of the Glenn Beck Program, it was the trademark rights holder who complained to Apple (after not getting the demanded action from Glenn Beck's team), prompting the removal. While this action can be seen as an appropriate response to a trademark violation, it also raises questions about whether podcast hosting providers should be the central point for addressing trademark issues rather than relying solely on the platforms, like Apple Podcasts.
Apple Doesn't Always Communicate Well
One recurring issue surrounding podcast removals, in general, is the lack of effective communication from Apple Podcasts. The lack of specific details regarding technical issues or policy violations has led to confusion and panic within the podcasting community. Improved communication channels and transparency would be beneficial in addressing concerns and avoiding the spread of fear, accusations, and misunderstandings.
Deplatforming: Centralized versus Decentralized
The Beck incident highlights the debate between centralized and decentralized podcasting platforms. While centralized platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify offer the benefit of potential notifications for issues, they also hold the power to remove content without clear guidelines or explanations. This raises concerns about potential censorship when the content is the least bit controversial (no matter which political direction it leans). On the other hand, decentralized catalogs like Podcast Index offer more freedom and less likelihood of corporate- or government-driven censorship.
Podcast-Hosting Providers Need to Handle Problems Better
To mitigate the risks of sudden removals, podcast-hosting providers should play a more proactive role in addressing issues. They should be monitoring feeds for potential problems or even disallowing problematic stuff to be uploaded in the first place, such as large images or invalid HTML or RSS. Any of these, and more technical errors, can lead to removals or performance problems on major podcast apps and directories. Additionally, hosting providers should take the lead in resolving trademark or copyright concerns and ensure ample communication with podcasters to avoid unnecessary panic.
Make Yourself Easy to Contact!
Podcasters need to be easily reachable when issues arise. Including contact information within podcast feeds and ensuring that email addresses are not removed can facilitate communication with hosting providers and mitigate the risk of immediate removal without proper dialogue. But removing email addresses from feeds helps protect podcasters' privacy. So no matter what, have a clearly labeled contact page on your website!
Ensure Your Feed Is Working!
Technical issues lead to most podcast removals. We advise podcasters to maintain separate feeds for their podcasts, especially if they use the same publishing tool for blogging. This practice can help mitigate the risk of feed issues, including offline feeds or missing episodes.
An Environment of Oversensitivity
This incident also reflects a growing climate of oversensitivity, where legal concerns or even technical issues are misinterpreted as censorship. While there are legitimate cases of censorship, it is crucial to separate these instances from other challenges podcasters face.
Never Let a Good Catastrophe Go to Waste:
The podcasting community can learn valuable lessons from incidents like the Glenn Beck removal. Along with other negative events like a DDOS attack, a negative review, or something else, even deplatforming can provide opportunities for stronger calls to action in other areas.

On this episode of Future of Podcasting, hosts Daniel J. Lewis and Dave Jackson discuss the new podcast recommendation feature called Podroll. While there are concerns of overwhelming users with too many options, the speakers also discuss its potential benefits for personal curation of recommendations.
Theyalso discuss the simplicity and ease of implementing the Podcasting 2.0 ecosystem tag format while advocating for extensibility. Additionally, we explore the potential for podcasters to sponsor and advertise their own podcasts through Podroll partnerships.
Lastly, they discuss the slow process of integrating the new tool but anticipate exciting user feedback.

A successful podcaster (who we suspect is John Lee Dumas of EoFire fame) is looking to sell his show for 15.5 Million. Switching hosts and selling shows is something that will be more normal as the early adopters of podcasting look to retire from the microphone. How does value for value tie into this?
We also talk about the importance of your episode titles (and the two type of podcast apps). Also, there is no shame in podfading. Eventually we will all retire.

I watched a video featuring the creators of Toy Story reflecting on the movie ten years later. They had a set of rules to not do any of the cliche things you saw in animation. This meant:
And Disney brought in someone who said all of the above were missing and they should add the missing elements. By ignoring the notes from Disney, they not only created a great movie, but created a franchise.
The film placed first in the weekend's box office with $29.1 million[3] and maintained the number-one position at the domestic box office for the next two weekends. Toy Story went on to become the highest-grossing domestic film of 1995.
In this instance, I feel like Disney. In my last episode, I stated I look for the following in a podcast app:
In a nutshell, Fountain.fm doesn't do many of the things I'm looking for. Does this mean it's a bad app? No. It means it's a bad app for me.
Who Is This App For?
The Fountain app is for the listener who fully embraces the streaming satoshi part of the Podcasting 2.0 feature set. Here are the satoshi-related products from their front page

How to Use Tags To Organize Your Episodes/Shows in Fountain.fm
Click on podcasts at the bottom.
Click on Shows
Click on the show and click on the tag icon.
Click on the "+" and enter a tag.
Then click on the tag. Now every new episode will have this tag
Now when you click on Podcasts at the bottom and click on the episodes or shows tab and you will see the tag.
The bad news is fountain stops playing after the first episode in your tagged list is over. This is awful for people in the shower or out riding their bike.
Filling Your Wallet
I am excited that you can fill your wallet from within the app using a service called Moonpay. That is the good news. The hurdle you will need to overcome is your bank may flag this as suspicious. The first time I attempted to put $30 in my wallet, my bank stopped it and sent me a text asking me if I wanted to do that. I said I did, waited about a minute and tried again, and it worked.
Support the Show Use My Fountain Referral Code
How do I redeem a code? Go to the main menu in the app and press Refer to Earn. Press Redeem Code at the bottom of the page then paste in the code ( davejackson-86b66cd69c ) and press Redeem. You can also get my code HERE

In this episode, I share my opinion on what I look for in a New Podcast App. There are a ton of new features being designed, and I share what and why I look forward to using these features.
I started using Apple Podcasts App back in 2005 until it broke (and stayed broken for about a week). Then I switched to Overcast, and if Marco (the developer) added streaming sats to the app, I wouldn't be talking about testing other apps.
In the past, I've tried fountain and Podverse, but that was a while ago. Both had their pros and cons.
I'm currently using Castamatic. Why? Because it acts and feels just like Overcast.
My Wish List
Playlists that automatically update when an episode from a specific show download. So I can have a playlist where I add show A, Show B, and Show C, and as soon as any of those shows publish an episode, it's in a specific playlist (Health, Money, Podcasting, Friends). I will also need to sort these by date.
Playback Settings
Playback speed Silence trimming Satoshi streaming (setting a level per minute for each show. Some are more valuable than others) Starting and ending points (cause some shows to take forever to get to the good stuff and/or take too long to say goodbye. Keep X amount of episodes. Delete after listening. Respect anything labeled as serial Sorting oldest to newest
While we Are At It
If I could get a search function that works.
A functional web-based version that is synchronized so I can pick up right where I left off when I pick up my phone.
The ability to upload a file and have it downloaded into the app.
I would love it if it worked with Alexa from Amazon.
Be sure to charge me, so you stay in business.
Full list at website.

Just a quick note to let you know I'm changing the name of the show from Leading the Bleeding to "The Suture of Podcasting" which will still focus on the Value for Value business model, podcasting 2.0 and more.
I just feel this is a more obvious name
I struggle sometimes to explain Podcasting 2.0 (where they are enhancing the RSS Spec), and then I remembered HD Radio. When I had a new car, the radio in the car picked up additional advertising-free stations that were good. One dear vs. car crash later, and my car doesn't have HD radio.
Many of you may not even know about HD radio. For a while, radio stations were promoting it trying to get people to listen, but aside from cars, I'm not sure how many people are buying new radios today (I had to order one off of Amazon to listen to Football games that weren't shown on TV).
HD Radio Video Demo
In the same way that HD is cool (from what I remember, a better "Deep cut" selection of music, actual DJs talking about the music, and zero ads), many of the new features being added to Podcasting are amazing. One feature called the Live Item Tag will alert you when your favorite podcasts go live to record. Currently, only Podverse has this feature enabled, but others will add it soon.
Currently, the "Mainstream / Legacy" Apps like Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon do not support any new features. Amazon has mentioned adding transcripts, but instead of using the ALREADY CREATED tag for transcripts, they are going to make their own.
If you want to see apps that use some of these new features, go to New Podcast Apps
WE WANT A DIFFERENT TYPE OF HISTORY
While HD Radio has been around since 2002. I know many stations announced it, but nobody was talking about it. There was almost zero word of mouth where I live. None of my friends rushed out and bought HD radios.
There is no "radio community" to pester Sony and other companies to "Make an HD radio receiver for my house." Are you listening to the radio in your house? If I'm listening, it is to a podcast.
So this show is to keep you informed and to alert you that one day you will hear the call to "Rally the troops" and make an organized and concerted effort to approach apps, and media hosts to adopt these new features.
NEW NAME ON THE WAY
I put this show together in somewhat of a hurry. I skipped one of my own rules. If you need to explain your show's name, you picked a bad name. Consequently, I want to talk about the new features coming into Podcasting 2.0 along with other non-crypto, super technical subjects around the future of podcasting. So, for now, I'm leaning toward calling the show "The Future of Podcasting." This will also give me room to step outside the Podcasting 2.0 space.
I'm not sure what the schedule will be (or if it will be on an "I record when I find something" schedule).
So don't freak out when you see the artwork change or the name change. I love this space and want to be more involved (without having to build a server for the helipad software).
Stay tuned...
SATOSHI UPDATE
As I record this $5 USD = 29,735 Satoshis
Get your calendars out as we are meeting on November 18th at 9 PM ET for our second mastermind. While it will be open-ended to share notes, ask questions, etc we did have a listener ask, "What is in it for the listener?"(so we might start there)
What I Learned Today
If you discovered a resource, some new knowledge, we can also have a time-shifted mastermind by having you share "what I learned today." This was inspired by hearing James Cridland talk about some credit cards that you could add money to, and then buy things in bitcoin. Don't be shy. You can go to www.leadingthebleeding.com and use the microphone in the bottom right-hand corner to leave your message.

On September 2nd, 2021 about 15-20 podcasters got together to talk about the value for value model where podcasters can receive bitcoin from their audience using apps from newpodcastapps.com
At this point, it is very VERY early in the process, and there are some speed bumps along the way.
