In this month’s real estate market update, I'm talking about the growth we’ve seen in the DFW metroplex, including the fact we are home to two of the fastest-growing counties in the nation, and what this means for our local market.

I'll hit on the current hot topic of real estate commissions. (And also give an interesting little history lesson on how buyers agents came to be.)

Then, as always, I’ll hit on the real estate market performance for DFW.

In this episode I give my answer to the big question Realtors, buyers, and sellers are asking: Will the Dallas Housing Market be better in 2024 than it was in 2023?

I’ll explain why we’ve seen rates go up when everyone predicted they’d go down, (along with when we might see them go down again).

I’ll tell you about Fannie Mae’s surprising interest rate prediction along with a look at how Dallas-Fort Worth compares to the nation when it comes to affordability.

As always, I will give you the market update on what happened for real estate in December as we closed out 2023.

Here’s what we’re talking about in this month's Dallas Housing Market Update for October 2023:We’re talking about Fannie Mae's National Housing Survey saying the majority of consumers now cite mortgage rates as the reason they think it’s a bad time to buy a home, not the home price. So I’ll let you in on three ways people are able to get below-market interest rates right now.Second, we’re going to talk about the luxury real estate market that is showing some interesting numbers. And, of course, we’ll hit on the monthly market numbers for DFW.In this video I reference a list of home sellers who are offering some sort of an interest rate buydown. If you want to get a copy of that exclusive list, go to crazyrealestatemarket.com and you’ll see a bright yellow box with a form to let us know where to send that list. And if you tell us a little about the house you’re looking for and the areas where you’re looking to buy, we can tailor the list to fit your search criteria. If you have any real estate plans for the next 12-24 months, let’s schedule a no-obligation strategy session to explore the opportunities of buying or selling in today’s market. You might be surprised at some of the opportunities available.Simply go to CrazyRealEstateMarket.com or you can reach me by phone or text at 214-803-4444 or start with an email to jshannon@kw.com.

It’s a new year and a new Dallas housing market. The big speculation is that we’re going to have a recession in 2023.  Maybe we will. Maybe we won’t.  So what will happen to the Dallas Housing Market if we do go into a recession? And on the other hand, what will happen to the real estate market if we don’t.   Now those are some great questions that I will answer in this podcast.

And, as always, I will give you the market update on what actually happened for real estate in the month of December as we closed out 2022.

For this Dallas Housing Market Update November 2022 we're talking about the latest headlines about the housing market.

Headlines like, “Collapse in Dallas-Fort Worth home sales worse than Great Recession,” or this one that the “average new home price in Dallas-Fort Worth down by $10,000.”  They’re headlines to get you to click and it’s working.

This month I’m looking at the actual numbers and not the headlines so you can see what’s really happening in our local market right now and I’m going to compare these stats to our pre-covid era market so you can see if this price drop is or isn’t typical.
