Lisa is a dedicated creative professional committed to helping individuals uncover their soul purpose through therapeutic art practices. With a keen interest in the transformative power of color, she utilizes creative wellness to guide clients on their unique life paths. As an accomplished artist, Lisa passionately engages with her community, fostering connections that inspire creativity and personal growth. She studied wellness counseling at Cornell University in 2021. In the fall of 2024, she presented her Color Affirmation Method to educators in Minnesota at their fall conference, MNSAA (Minnesota Nonpublic School Accreditation Association) speaking on the impact of SEL through creativity. Her recent book, the Color Affirmation Workbook and Journal is the perfect partner to her Color Affirmation Deck, which reflects her expertise and enthusiasm in this field. Kindle has been asked to teach two classes at the Sea Cliff Arts Council in June of 2025 in Long Island, NY. She will also be co-hosting a women’s retreat where she will be teaching her method and leading a guided labyrinth event also in Long Island.
I wrote the book, the Color Affirmation Workbook (2024) and Journal and have published an inspirational product, the Color Affirmation Deck that combines color and affirmations to promote well-being and spark creativity.

Sandra Schnakenburg is a dual American/Australian citizen. Sandy earned a BS in finance and international business at Arizona State University and an MBA specializing in finance and accounting at the University of Southern California. She left a career in corporate finance in 2010 to study creative nonfiction. She has completed writing courses at Rice University, Writespace, and The Writers University in Houston. When not writing, you will find Sandra enjoying her family, nature, hiking, skiing, biking, cooking, yoga and walking her dogs. She and her husband, Karl, currently split their time between Houston, Texas and Park City, Utah.

Over the course of his writing and producing career, Alan Katz has written movies and TV shows like HBO’s iconic Tales From The Crypt. Entertainment Weekly called the first season of his “The How NOT To Make A Movie Podcast” the “Best Film Podcast of 2022”. Constance “Ahuva Batya” Scharff, PhD is an internationally recognized speaker and author on the topics of addiction and trauma recovery, the psychological impacts of climate change, and women’s mental health. She is the founder of and principal investigator for the Institute for Complementary and Indigenous Mental Health Research. Dr. Scharff is a passionate advocate for decolonizing mental healthcare and incorporating indigenous practices and ontologies into healthcare services, as well as radical social transformation to lessen the impacts of climate change. Dr. Scharff is a recent recipient of St. Lawrence University’s Sol Feinstone Humanitarian Award, honoring her service to and advocacy for those suffering from mental illness, trauma, and addiction. MDIV graduate, I am a panentheist, but also author (my books were recently acquired by George R.R. Martin’s bookstore in Santa Fe), Screenwriter, Producer & Podcaster. A believer in humanity, I use my words in diverse ways to encourage us to be better in this world, but am especially drawn to defending our shared environments.
Having grown up overseas (in both Guyana, South America as well as Lahore, Pakistan) it was only later that I understood that my childhood has dramatically shaped me in ways that I did not expect. They even have a Wiki entry for kids like me, “Third Culture Kids” and let me tell you, I fit it to a “T!” My childhood was informed by the Islamic call to prayer and my education at the American School had me playing with kids from all over the world of every color, creed and religion.
When one grows up like this, is it any wonder that the world becomes enchanted? That other humans become enchanted? I am endlessly thrilled with meeting other people and getting to know who they are and what makes them tick. I find that developing relationships and building respectful community, as well as joy-filled community is essential to my being happy.
I live an enchanted life and besides for being a “creative” and author, I also have an animated series on YouTube called “Murder of 2,” about two crows who sit on a line and observe humanity, as well as multiple other projects I’m working on right now.
I am a panentheist, who believes that Spirit or Energy or God/Goddess exists in all I can see and not see, and that magic and miracles are real and potent. This is the gist of my podcast, Byte Sized Blessings, where I interview people of all kinds asking them about powerful moments in their lives, ones that changed them forever.
I walked the Camino in 2013 and that is a story in itself…I believe in adventure, in joy, in feeding my heart with belief in other people and that eventually we will create the communities and spaces that will heal and include everyone. (at least everyone that wants to be included, because, boundaries!)

Chris didn’t look like an Aboriginal adolescent as he set off from Belfast on his café racing Moto Guzzi. But it was the same motivation that drove him to set off on a journey of self-discovery. But when the Iranian revolution stopped the planned 10,000-mile motorcycle road trip to Australia, he ends high in the Andes, 50-odd thousand miles later, before returning to Belfast.

David Hern was born in New York City on June 20, 1958. An actor virtually since birth, David first appeared onstage at age 5 as the ringmaster of a Kindergarten Circus. He studied theatre, rehearsed, and appeared in plays all through high school and college, followed by numerous community and professional stage productions in Northern California.
Fresh out of high school, he won a full scholarship to attend San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre’s training program where he was fortunate enough to study under Vincent Price and Peter Donat. In the early 1980s he moved to Hollywood where he appeared on the late-night spook show Freddy’s Nightmares, and continued his scene work under the tutelage of character actors Bruce Glover and Allen Garfield.
Relocating back to Northern California a decade later, he appeared in the films Bee Season, Twisted, and Paradise Club, as well as in stage productions at Center Repertory and Playhouse West. He was also cast as the host of Rider McDowell’s Nighty Night San Francisco, a send-up of late-night talk shows featured on Evening Magazine with former child star Johnny Whitaker.
As a writer, David’s play What Loving People Do was performed as a staged reading at Playhouse West in 2008. Another, In the Birdcage, at both the Nosotros Playhouse in Los Angeles (1987) and the San Francisco Playwrights Center (1992).
David’s late father, Bernie Hern was also an actor and stand-up comedian, appearing on the Robert Q. Lewis radio show in 1950. He is also known for his appearance in the classic Rob Reiner film, When Harry met Sally, as well as in his recurring TV role as Judge Sidney Schroeder on Steven Bochco’s L. A. Law in the 1980s.
David is now an author with the release of How Not to Make it in Hollywood—a twisted comic memoir of his decade there.

Ray Hartjen is a writer and musician who lives in Pleasanton, California, where he and his wife, Lori, raised their adult children, Olivia and Raymond.
In a professional career that has spanned parts of five decades, Ray has pivoted on many occasions, from investment banking to pharmaceuticals, from consumer electronics to SaaS software. One constant throughout his career path, however, has been storytelling.
In the past, Ray has been a frequent source for quotes from the national media on both the consumer electronics and retail industries. Additionally, as a contributor to a number of online outlets and platforms, including his rayhartjen.com site, he has spun his fair share of yarn on topics as far ranging as sports — primarily football, hockey and auto racing — and business, particularly revenue team functions like sales and marketing. Ray’s previous work includes being the coauthor of Immaculate: How the Steelers Saved Pittsburgh, published in 2022 by Morgan James Publishing and available at all major booksellers.
Diagnosed with multiple myeloma in March of 2019, Ray is a cancer fighter every day of the week that ends in a ‘y.’ And, with the soundtrack of life playing continuously in his head, Ray also performs and records with his two-piece acoustic band, the Chronic Padres.
A native of Texas, Ray holds an undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University and an MBA from the University of Washington.

Judith Starkston has spent too much time reading about and exploring the remains of the ancient world. Early on she went so far as to get degrees in Classics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and Cornell. She writes historical fantasy set in the Bronze Age of the Greeks and Hittites. Born into a family of artists, she became a painter and poet and also developed a career as a psychologist. For 30 years, Karen helped people find images and words to express unconscious feelings and memories, and then work with these images to heal their wounds and build their lives.

I entered the Army in 1994 and spent 20 years in the military. During the 20 years I spent 68 months in deployment/combat tours. 9 months was in Bosnia and the rest was in Iraq and Afghanistan. After the Military I opened up my own company in the trucking industry. I closed it shortly after covid. Since than I have started a podcast called Spirits and Stories with Donald Dunn to highlight the struggles and the success of our veteran community and I am building a nonprofit called Heroes Voices Media Foundation to help Veterans reach their dreams while getting therapy doing it.

Hello, I’m Karen. When I was old enough to climb the stairs into the attic of the colonial house I grew up in, I’d sit in front of the fanlight window and compose poems about the mysteries of the night—the moon, stars, and unseen planets. I still love all things mystical, magical, and provocative. My most inspired moments are still those spent in pondering and sharing ways to help individuals embrace and live their authentic selves regardless of their age or past history.
My love of language, coupled with my identity as an androgenous gay woman manifested an aspiration to delve into academic studies that married my innate passions. I’m a published author and hold a Ph.D. in comparative literature, within the context of women’s meditations regarding gender identity, sexuality, and the gendered body. (I also write queer erotica under Author Annie Moon and I have 800+ followers.)
When I’m not gazing at the night sky, writing or reading, I can be found meditating, cooking Italian specialties, or walking Rachel and Jasper, my two lab-mixed breed companions.

Morgan McCarver was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Her work is inspired by her female mentors of past and present, as well as her connection to Victorian corsetry through her scoliosis journey. She received an art degree with a ceramics concentration and a double minor in art history and business in 2019 from Anderson University in Anderson, SC. McCarver had the honor of receiving the 2019 Outstanding Art Major Ceramics Award her senior year. As a 2020 701 Center for Contemporary Art prize finalist, she had the honor of being the youngest artist to ever make it that far. She is a multi-award-winning artist who recently received an Artist Support Grant to attend a national ceramics conference. She has had the honor of displaying her work in 2 solo exhibitions, “FemininiTEA” 2020 and “The Strength of a Wildflower” 2022. She recently completed a residency at Edgewood Cottage in Blowing Rock Summer 2023 and participated 2022 as well. McCarver has studios in Asheville, NC and Spartanburg, SC. Her art can be found in various galleries around the Carolinas and Tennessee. Her first book, “God the Artist: Revealing God’s Creative Side Through Pottery,” was released with Morgan James Publishing January 9, 2024.

She grew up in the Pacific Northwest but has lived in Southern Arizona for over 28 years moving there after a three month trip circumnavigating the globe.

As a lifetime reader and evolving writer, I have always enjoyed fiction that left me wishing there was more to read, made me long for a sequel, or kept me thinking about its intricacies long after I turned the last page. My purpose in writing is to provide for an audience who appreciates plot twists, intrigue, and smart dialogue, which I have crafted to carry them to a surprising and satisfying final chapter.
I have been an educator and library director for over 30 years, but I have been a plot junkie my entire life. I value any medium that keeps me guessing and/or thinking throughout any novel, short story, piece of poetry, movie, and the like. I believe this sentiment accurately describes my style of writing.
I live in Saint Charles, Illinois, with my husband, Kyle, and dogs, Hendrix and Janis. Together, we have two grown children: Mitchell (25) and Madelynn (21).

Rita Gau’s review: Recently, I finished reading a book titled, The Space Between Time, by my friend, Lucinda Sage-Midgorden. It was the best book I’ve read in a long time. It kept me captivated, which I have not experienced from any other book for the past couple of years. I loved all the little gems of meaningful and what I call spiritual statements throughout the book. You know, those words that make you pause and think, and sometimes have an “aha” from or a deeper awareness about something. And it was entertaining and informational about some of the history in the 1800’s and yet, contemporary. It also reminded me of the importance of “living in community” and how important it is to help one another and be engaged in your community. I never really enjoyed writing as a kid. In school, it always felt like work. But after several post-college jobs required me to write, I (ironically) slowly grew to enjoy it. My first unpublished draft came about after doing a team-building exercise for my co-workers that involved writing a story together.
After that, I realized how much I enjoyed writing fiction, and my first novel ever, Imitation Murder, was born! I really hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them, but if you don’t, that’s okay, too.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy: hanging out in the garden; walking the dogs; taking care of my fish; reading mysteries, sci-fi, & YA dystopian novels; and painting. Anything creative, really!

After being medically retired from the Army in 2015, Maccabee’s life has been a rollercoaster of a journey down a road most refuse to travel. Before deciding to become a voice actor, Maccabee was just like everyone else; working to survive and take care of his family. And when God decided to use D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) to inspire him to give acting another chance, he’s never looked back. This journey has given him the chance to record character voices for a short animated film that continues to earn international awards, narrate a television series that has been requested more episodes even before it’s aired, and helped give a voice to small businesses nationwide. This also led him to create his own podcast, Beyond the Pen, to give unknown and newly published authors an international platform to tell people about themselves, their book, and the story behind the story. But most of all it’s allowed him to get back to the basics of storytelling by helping authors and creatives a like develop fully fleshed-out characters, backstories, and world events for their fictional worlds.

Adopted at birth, Edward Di Gangi was born and raised in New York City. Although he knew for most of his life that he was adopted, it wasn’t until he approached his seventieth birthday that he began to search for the identity of his birth mother. His journey and the many surprising discoveries he made as he searched are recounted in his memoir, The Gift Best Given.

Lisa Jensen is a ghostwriter and novelist living in the Northwest with her husband and a furry family that includes a pack of Chihuahuas and a pair of cats.The job description for most of the work she’s done throughout her adult life included writing, editing, and proofreading. It started in radio, where she wrote scripts and ad copy daily, and continued when she started freelancing for lifestyle magazines. It was during that time, when her assignments began centering on showcasing the unique stories of everyday people, that Lisa discovered how much she enjoyed hearing people’s stories and telling them. She loved working with those individuals to tell their stories in an engaging, entertaining way that honored them, and that’s when she shifted her full focus to ghostwriting.
Additionally, after decades of toying with the idea of writing fiction, Lisa wrote and self-published a novel, Cedar Ridge, under the pen name Maris Parker in 2021. The following year, she narrated and published the audiobook version and has started writing the follow-up book with the intention of making it a series.

Maxwell Ivey grew up in a family of carnival owners. He started losing his vision to retinitis pigmentosa at an early age becoming legally blind by junior high school and totally blind by the time he graduated from college. He did graduate from traditional schools, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and worked in the family business until his dad’s death forced the closure of their small show. Needing something new he started helping people sell surplus rides. He had to learn so much including how to hand code html, recruit clients, set fees, build an email list, manage social media, and more. People were inspired by his willingness to take on difficult challenges and encouraged him to share more about being a blind entrepreneur. That led to a second site as the blind blogger, with three books out so far and a fourth due any time. He’s promoted himself through podcast interviews appearing on over 200 shows as well as public speaking where he has shared his inspiring story with local organizations and national conferences. Saving the World One Story at a Time, Course on Ûdemy
The world is in such chaos right now that sometimes we need to get a perspective on what’s happening. I designed this course on Ûdemy for people who are looking for a way to get a better understanding about what it means to be a human being. Stories are one great way to walk in the shoes of the characters, connect with them emotionally and learn from their mistakes. Then taking what you have learned and use it in the real world. My name is Alanna, I’m from the UK, and have just released my first novel, Abolish the Rose, published with Atmosphere Press. As a lifelong reader, long-time writer, and first-time, indie-published author, it’s been a long journey and a rollercoaster of mistakes and lessons learnt!

Abolish the Rose tells the story of Camille Addison, who is recently retired and struggling to come to terms with the idea that her life has been a waste, or that she should have “achieved” something more with her time, after an unexpected tragedy knocked her off course. The title comes from a quote (or indeed my interpretation thereof) from James Russell Lowell: “The question of common sense is always: ‘what is it good for?’ – a question which would abolish the rose and be answered triumphantly by the cabbage.”

Statement:
Since very young, I knew I wanted to be involved in the arts in some capacity. From coloring books, (frustrated I could never stay inside the lines) to sidewalk chalk drawings, to play dough, (myGod, play dough!) I would spend hours on end creating; thinking I was great. At least my mother said I was.
It wasn’t until much later, I found clay; grown-up play dough. I was attracted immediately, especially to hand-building. Unlike wood or stone or plaster, clay is relatively forgiving. Mistakes become stages of evolution. This is not to say clay doesn’t have its own temperament. The properties of clay and the fact it’s an organic substance gives it a personality and is therefore subject to its own dispositions. If the mood ring reads black, it’s best to just back away and find a nice coloring book.
The subjects I choose and the process of raku-firing are aspects of my work that have evolved over time. The animals I select have certain distinctions which lend themselves to my style. Simplicity in design and a touch of personification, brought together with the organic nature of raku brings the creatures to life.
People ask me, “Do you like animals?” Initially my response was, “Who doesn’t?”, but after some thought, I realized I do like animals. But it’s more than that. Respect…Awe…Fear? To say you just “like” animals is to trivialize their stature. I think they deserve more. All I can do is couple these feelings with the animal’s natural splendor to try to create something great. At the very least, my mother will think it is.
I graduated from Trinity College of Vermont with a BA in Craft/Art Entrepreneurship and now live and work in Southeast Arizona .

There was only one choice to make. I had to trust who I was and the decisions I was going to make. Yes, it wasn’t going to be easy and certainly not simple but it can be done once you learn to trust.
My strength lies within, as I rely strongly on my intuition to guide me towards my goals in life. I have learnt to trust this power and teach others to do the same through the tools I have developed over my lifetime. It is time to enjoy your journey and start trusting in yourself.

Lorrie D. Grant is a storyteller with a message. She is always looking for an adventure and always has a story to tell. I went through a rough time in my life and movies were a place of comfort for me from a lot of the trauma I went through. It really is a story of how I overcame trauma and learned to cope. It was never supposed to be a book—but it became one.
