Stacy Robinson is one of the greatest basketball players to ever come out of Washington DC. He was a Parade All-American in 1975 and Digger Phelps says he's the best high school player he'd ever seen. Stacy has been a staple of the DC hoops scene for 50 years. He joined me to talk about everything from his high school days to some of his favorite players to come out of the district. Like, share, subscribe.

We did things a little different on this episode. I was joined by DJ Impulse (Instagram: @djimpulse), Baltimore native, photographer, nationally known DJ and sneaker connoisseur, and Christia, also a Baltimore native and firmly in denial about her sneaker head status (we will get her to accept this throughout the pod) to talk all things sneakers. We got into each other's sneaker origin stories, got a crazy story about one of Impulse's most coveted sneakers and had a "spirited" discussion about Air Force Ones. This was definitely a fun episode. Make sure you tap in.

This was a very special episode. A random question turned into an entire podcast episode. I was joined by one of my closest friends, Donte Johnson, and we literally just got in the booth and pressed record. We spoke about the disappointing situation around the set up for the NCAA Women's March Madness tournament and just had a organic conversation about the uphill battle female athletes face in general. Just two guys shooting from the hip about an extremely important topic. As always you can follow me on all my social media platforms: Instagram: @hoops_realist, Twitter: @hoopsrealist, Facebook: Lyons Den Sports, YouTube: Raymond Lyons - Lyons Den Sports. And also check out what Donte has going on. He is the General Manager of Hotel Revival - Baltimore and they are spearheading some amazing things in that community. Join me for another episode of Hoops Unfiltered. I touched on a few topics around the NBA world. Of course, recapped the All Star festivities. Touched on the ongoing "Change the logo" conversation. I dove into the recent debacles in Atlanta and Minnesota regarding their respective coaching situations and addressed the lack of black faces in leadership roles across the league. And finished things off with some insight about the second half of the season. Go ahead and subscribe if you enjoy the podcast. Better yet, just subscribe anyway. The conversation about what is the best basketball city in the country is usually a battle between New York, LA and Chicago. But when you look at the talent, overall historical impact on the game and the culture, DC reigns supreme as the greatest basketball city in the country. I understand this is hard to accept but I'm willing to put D.C.'s hoops resume up against any other city you can name. Music by Trakklacer (Instagram: @Trakklacer).
