Mountain fever has hit Walnut Grove. Edwards blames himself for infecting his first wife and daughter and is afraid he's done the same to Grace and Alicia. The Ingalls aren't immune as Laura seemingly comes down with it too after taking some raspberries to Alicia. Can Edwards nurse Alicia and Laura back to health without succumbing to exhaustion? Can Charles get to Doc Baker in time to get him back to Walnut Grove? Find out in Quarentine.
John Edwards gets an offer to attend university after they read his poetry. It's the offer of a lifetime. Mary and Isaiah are torn though. Mary has dreams of marriage and house on a farm and Isaiah has dreams of working the land and teaching John everything he knows about farming. Will they keep John close to home or will they set him free and hope that he returns to them after his schooling?
The town of Walnut Grove is battered by a blizzard. That would normally be bad enough except for the fact that Ms. Beadle let the kids out of school early and now they're caught in the storm. Can Charles, Edwards and crew find the kids before it's too late? Plus we recap a rare date night and discuss the benefits of sea moss as touted by Dr. Lopez.
When we left off Charles had been shot and Laura was looking for help. Her only hope is the visually impaired Sam. Can they find help? Can they find it in time? Plus Meg and I ramble quite a bit in this one so apologies ahead of time.
Laura has been begging Charles to take her hunting for quite some time. Finally Charles gives in and they're on their way. It's not long though before a tragic accident puts Charles' life in danger. Can Laura remember how to get back to some trapper's house for help? Can she get there in time? Listen and find out.
The Galender boys are new to Walnut Grove and it doesn't take long before they start taking advantage of the town folk. They swindle the Olesons, Hanson, and even get handsy with Caroline. Then there's the youngest Galender who's just as bad and even punches Mary in the face. Naturally Nellie is drawn to that type of behavior. In the end it's the righteous Rev Alden that has to lay the smack down and run the Galender punks out of town. Plus Matt gets emotional about teeter totters.
Laura ends up trading some work for a last of it's kind goat. Laura loves Fred but the rest of Walnut Grove not so much. Can Laura get the people of WG to see the good in Fred or will Fred be run out of town or worse yet become dinner for Mr. Edwards?
It's Halloween night and some weird things are happening in Walnut Grove. Laura thinks she sees Nels chop Harriet's head off. Nels doesn't help things by acting super creepy and things deteriorate from there. Plus we recap our chat with Patrick Labyorteaux aka Andy from Little House. Plus plus Meg has a new "cheesecake" recipe.
Carrie falls into a well after accompanying her sisters on a butterfly catching trip. The whole town pitches in to help but its ultimately a man with a troubled past that is able to bring Carrie back to her family.
In the exciting conclusion to Bunny, Laura and Nellie square off in a race to determine equine supremacy. Naturally Laura has to work extra hard while Nellie expects everything to be handed to her. Harriett is up to her old ways and it ends up biting her in the butt. Plus Meg and Matt recap the last few weeks and Meg drops a surprise(even for Matt) announcement.
This is the one that spawned a thousand memes. Nellie hurts herself falling off her horse. She's a little banged up but otherwise ok. Never the one to let the truth get in the way of opportunity though, Nellie fakes being paralyzed in order to gain the sympathy of everyone in Walnut Grove. Her plan works for a while but ultimately Laura finds out and gets her revenge in one of the all time classic Little House scenes.
Johnny Cash! Need we say more? Ok. Johnny and June play Caleb and Mattie, a couple down on their luck. Caleb thinks their prayers have been answered when they take in Rev Alden after an accident. Caleb passes himself off as a reverend friend of Alden's. His plan is to collect money from the people of Walnut Grove to help a neighboring town that had just been wiped out by fire and keep it all for himself and Mattie. Things don't go exactly according to plan, as this is Walnut Grove, and Caleb is so moved by the towns generosity that he gives up on his plan and leaves the town with considerable donations for the town in need.
After a tornado wipes out the Ingalls entire crop, Charles decides he's not strong enough to start over again. He starts to wonder if God has forsaken him. Enter Matthew and Anna Sims. The former owners of the Ingalls farm are looking to come home again. In the process of selling Charles realizes Walnut Grove is the best place for the Ingalls, something the Ingalls women had known all along.
Granville Whipple returns home after 12 years. He's a successful musician and war hero but he also carries the weight of addiction. Will his mother and his new friends in Walnut Grove be enough to help him overcome his demons?
The good people of Walnut Grove are planning a Centennial celebration. The town clerk has other ideas. A property tax hike leaves the town reeling and feeling like there is little to celebrate. Enter Yuli, a Russian immigrant. Yuli and his family lose their farm to a tax sale but that doesn't stop Yuli from teaching the people of Walnut Grove a valuable lesson in gratitude and humility.
Charles wants to get some new china for Caroline. Seems innocent enough. In order to keep it a surprise though he has to tell a few lies and that's when things get interesting. Is Caroline worried about nothing or is Charles getting a little too cozy with the widow Thurman? Plus Meg tries to talk Matt into adding to their animal collection and a picturesque town of the week.
After getting next to nothing for their crop, Charles and Edwards take an ultra dangerous job hauling blasting oil. The pay is only exceeded by the danger. Will it be worth it? Will they make it in one piece? Plus Meg comes face to face with a 6 foot raccoon and later straightens Matt's hair and now he looks like Lord Farquaad from Shrek .
Try as she might Ms. Beadle loses control of her class. The schoolboard brings in a gruff disciplinarian to right the ship. However after some bad mouthing courtesy of Harriet Laura finds herself firmly in the new teacher's crosshairs. Charles finally has enough and nearly knocks the jerk out, if not for a promise he made to Caroline to be nice.
Go figure. Laura, Mary, and Carl find themselves on a runaway caboose headed straight for another train! Can Edwards switch the tracks in time? Can Charles catch the other train before it's too late! Plus Matt almost passes out and Meg and Matt may not be meant to be together after all after failing a TikTok test.
Caroline suffers a seemingly innocuous cut that turns out to be life threatening. Will she have to resort to drastic measures to save her life? Plus Meg catches and recovers from Covid and finally strikes it rich at Bath and Body Works.
Mary has been selected to represent Walnut Grove in a statewide math competition. She'll have to overcome the Ingall's financial shortcomings though is she is to make the trip. Laura assumes the role of woman of the house and deals with a case of the jealousies. Plus Matt burns his eyes with a chili pepper and Meg talks some mad b-ball trash, but can she back it up?
Nellie and Laura are in a battle for the ages. They both have their sites set on Jason, the science loving new kid in town. Surprise surprise Nellie isn't playing fair but Laura isn't gonna lay down. Will Nellie's evil ways win out or will true love conquer all?
Edwards and his son John can't seem to get on the same page. Edwards is a lover of the outdoors but John has a passion for writing. Edwards plans a hunting trip to try to connect with John but the trip may cost Edwards his life. Plus Meg is on a mission to find the hottest candle holder on Earth and a small town that is about to welcome a quarter million visitors.
It's Rev Alden's bday. The Sunday school children collect money for a gift. Laura stumbles upon a way her and Mary can double the money so they can buy the Rev an even better gift. Things don't go quite as planned and now Mary and Laura have to answer for what they've done. Plus we discuss the recent Little House reunion live chat and Meg's obsession with Twilight.
Laura and Jonah think they've struck it rich when they find shiny rocks while fishing in the pond. After weeks of hard work and going to extreme lengths to keep their treasure a secret they find out the awful truth about their riches.
The Ingalls are going camping and in the process are going to help Laura and Mary find leaves for their school project. Not one to let her kids be outdone Harriet forces Nels to invite themselves along. Hilarity ensues as Harriet seems almost human before a run-in with some poison ivy. Plus Matt and Meg recap their Florida trip and Meg lays down a challenge for listeners in the Destin area.
