The guests join our hosts Charles Horton, Christian Shaw, MD, PhD, Jessica Chandler & Denise Mahaffey and as we discuss Four More States Could Still Legalize Marijuana This Year After New Mexico, New York And Virginia.

He quickly grew that with his expertise in design and marketing and increased his production/executive staff to move into a 4000 sq/ft facility in Zion, Illinois. Pivoting to CBD a few years ago and hand sanitizer to get through the pandemic, Warrender has always been able to adapt and stay ahead of the curve—he had been instrumenting R&D on Delta-8 months prior to our first-to-market launch in July of 2020. He has recently moved his company into a 15000+ sq/ft facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin that increases capacity immensely. With rapid development, Urb's Finest Flowers flagship brand under Lifted Made has captured and grown market share greatly as a nationally recognized brand and is actively moving to take over the Cannabis space.

On this week’s episode of The Budding Report, we are joined by Lisa Tollner & Ari Raptis. The guests join our hosts Charles Horton, Melissa Nasits, Christian Shaw, MD, PhD, and Chris Perri as we discuss Case Report: Cannabidiol in the Management of Acute Opioid Withdrawal.
Lisa Tollner, Sensi Signature Products Co-Founder and CMO • 30+ years in global branding and new product development • Fortune 500 marketing expertise • Strategy, brand development, and marketing for healthcare, medical devices, and pharmaceutical products • Focus on start-ups and go-to-market strategy Sensi Signature Products History Lisa co-founded Sensi with her husband in 2012. They began their journey into the world of cannabis in an effort to help her mother with debilitating pain from 35 years as a CCU/ICU nurse. Through 2 years of research, experimentation, and networking with early cannabis pioneers, they realized the incredible potential cannabis had to help people suffering from a range of conditions, and as an alternative to traditional pharmaceuticals. The research convinced them to develop a product, Sensi Chews, which now encompasses a family of 9 cannabis infused edibles. Using their backgrounds in high tech manufacturing and engineering, as well as brand strategy, they launched in Northern California collectives in 2013. Sensi was the first edible to voluntarily lab test for potency and purity, and provide accurate dosing. In 2016 Sensi launched Sensi Caps CBD-Rich Soft gels, and in 2020 they launched the first healthy vegan, low-sugar, Omega 3infused Sensi Gummies. Today, Sensi Signature Products are in 300collectives across the State and is considered one of the top edible brands. Advancing Cannabis Research Believing in the value of research Lisa began different research channels. In February 2017, they launched a Stanford approved study conducted by IROC(Institute for Research of Cannabis) that tracked1400 patients to better understand how cannabis effects their quality of life and the conditions they are hoping to treat. Sensi is continually gathering consumer insights for insomnia and pain using online studies delivered through their website (https://sensichew.typeform.com/to/Izl2SJ)and work with PhDs to analyze the data to provide meaningful insights into consumer attitudes and usage. Sensi Signature Products is the only edible manufacturer dedicated to ongoing cannabis and edibles research. Customer Education and Accessibility, She is a strong believer in the importance of education and has created in-depth case studies that address specific health conditions and how cannabis can help. Medical experts, reports, and studies are combined to give consumers valuable information on the effects of cannabis. No other edible company produces case studies of this quality and selection. Others just offer education on general edible use. Each Sensi Chew includes an insert with detailed usage instructions to ensure that new users have a smooth and safe experience. No other edible brand provides comprehensive instructions. Lisa had a vision that cannabis companies should act like any other company and be accessible to their consumers. She implemented a customer support hot line so staff can speak directly with consumers and learn first-hand what they are experiencing and provide guidance. In addition, Sensi uses this direct customer interaction to educate them on Sensi’s products, but also general cannabis questions and topics. Sensi is one of the few edible companies to provide a Support Call Center for consumers.

On this week’s episode of The Budding Report, we are joined by Daniel Hayden.
The guests join our hosts Charles Horton, Melissa Nasits, Christian Shaw, MD, PhD, and Chris Perri as we discuss Women Increasingly Turn to CBD, With or Without Doc's Blessing.
Daniel Maida Hayden, Ph.D. received his B.S. in Biotechnology from Rochester Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Physiology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His dissertation focused on the molecular mechanisms of tropical plant senescence and aging.
For the past 10 years, Dr. Hayden has worked exclusively on Cannabis oleoresin extractions, specifically involving cured resin. He invented High Terpene Full Spectrum Extracts, or “HTFSE”, in 2016. Dr. Hayden developed the extraction technique that led to the creation of HTFSE: “Cosolvent Technique.” The technique uses CO2 as a Cosolvent-like-buffer to protect the oleoresin during hydrocarbon extraction, resulting in a wonderful experience of flavor and effervescence in the final product.
One hundred percent of all the products are derived from CURED RESIN
and cannot be replicated or reproduced with living resins. The Cosolvent technique is capable of high- throughput at 100s of pounds processed a day, but also small-batch. As little as 1 lb. of cured trim is capable of generating profitable cured cannabis retail products that truly resemble the unique identities of the cultivators and strains from which they are derived.
Dr. Hayden has worked in academic, government, and private laboratories as a molecular engineer specializing in merging biology with technology to study ongoing molecular and metabolic processes that lead to phenotypic results. These pursuits mostly focused on plant secondary metabolism, plant tissue culture and transformation, and transcriptome analysis of developing oilseeds and endosperms. He possesses declared competency by fire code officials and is a leading subject matter expert on plant biochemistry involving the composition and creation of secondary metabolites in the trichomes of cannabis plants.
Dr. Hayden’s core expertise involves environmental health and safety, clinical lab experience, solvent handling, and process management which ensure the ultimate safety of his employees and all legal and compliant retail products manufactured by Extractioneering.

Zetti Carnell’s passion for cooking is about as thick as her southern accent, about as deep as a bowl of chicken and dumplings and about as sweet as the iced tea we drink down south. Her love for cooking was inspired by my grandmother, who was an amazing chef and known around Louisiana as the Dumpling Lady. She hails from a creative lineage. Her grandfather was a country-western star on the Louisiana Hayride and played with Johnny Cash, Slim Whitman and Elvis Presley. Her mother followed in his footsteps with music but instead of secular music, she became an ordained worship pastor.
Her family’s blood is steeped in church, music and food. When you grow up in church in the Deep South, you’re always around food. Her grandmother was really the catalyst that introduced me to the “trinity,” as we say in the south. Onions, celery and bell pepper. That mirepoix is as close the father, son and holy ghost you can get in her book.
She’s always loved to cook in her formative years as a teen, and as a young adult. At the time, she just didn’t realize she would want to do it for the rest of her life. She went to seminary school and eventually ended up pastoring in a few small churches in Dallas.
What she loved most besides the music she played, and the people, was as you would guess, the food. She was in charge of basically all the church events and not only did she cater, but she came up with themed designs, tablescapes, decor and more. She loved every minute of it. She got so good at it people were calling the church wanting me to not only design for their weddings, receptions and holidays but also make the food.
Shortly after Zetti left the full-time ministry, she headed to Nashville, Music City USA, where she was signed to an artist development deal. During that time, she was writing, playing, singing, performing but still always found her way back into the kitchen, cooking for guests, friends, family and hosting parties.
Zetti came back to Dallas in 2012 after the new President of the Label decided to drop newly rostered artists and she did her best to build her fan base and continue her music. However, the scene was changing, and she was losing her patience with the music industry. She kept sharpening her chef skills by attending classes, catering parties and events, hosting pop up kitchens and tastings.
In 2019 she finally got it through her thick skull as her “mama” would say and decided to follow her passion for cooking. In 2020 she left her full-time job in IT sales and solutions and moved to LA to become a celebrity private chef.
She was doing amazing cooking for Lady Gaga’s old manager Bob Leone, She revamped a Hollywood production restaurant menu, and met with some people at NBC Universal and cooked for several other songwriters and singers and then COVID happened. Everything shut down on a hard lockdown. She didn’t have her car in LA and feared getting stuck, so she made the decision to return to Dallas and from her home build out a new strategy.
Zetti started a highly successful food delivery service where she delivered meals that she called “quarantine cuisine.” Through that delivery service, she was able to stay afloat, along with her personal chef services and catering. So that is where she is now, building and growing and establishing herself in Dallas as a premier private chef offering private chef services, catering, cooking classes, food delivery, and event planning. If you enjoy southern, creole, and Asian Food, you will enjoy her culinary fusions.

Being a venture capitalist means being the centralized ignition point to connect ideas, people and resources. Creating something where there was nothing is the best way I know how to contribute to our society that has given us so much. Spent 3.5 years playing Jr. Hockey in Canada. Business School at Nichols College in Massachusetts. Cut my teeth at Merrill Lynch in Private Wealth. Executed the syndicate 'buys' for IPOs and secondary issues. I developed a specialty in bringing private equity alternatives into our portfolio. My work in private deals growing up and then again with ML is where I developed a taste for venture capital and began looking for an entry point outside of the constraints of a large firm.
In 2015, Colorado we formed Cliintel Capital Management Group, a venture firm focused on emerging markets and more specifically cannabis. CCMG became the first Qualified Institutional Investment capital firm in Colorado to own THC licensed facilities through a venture fund.
We have acquired, built and growing cannabis companies across the supply chain preparing for biquitous legalization across the globe starting here in the epicenter of the cannabis universe, Colorado.
Warren Bobrow, the Cocktail Whisperer, is the multi-published author of six books.
