We’ve all heard that Knowledge is power. I believe knowledge has the potential to be powerful, but it’s what we do with it that really matters. Welcome to the Knowledge Alchemy podcast, I’m your host, Jamal Abilmona. I speak with knowledge alchemists from various fields of thought and influence, who are turning their knowledge into power, and using it to empower others. Join me as we explore the magic that is knowledge alchemy.
What do you think of when you hear the word creativity? Do you imagine an artist, a painter, or an eccentric person with particular talents? Well, the dictionary definition of creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new or valuable is formed. We all do this every day, whether it be putting together a new recipe in the kitchen, building and maintaining relationships, resolving conflicts, to birthing a new idea - big or small. But what if we really focused on developing and harnessing our creative skill sets? How many new and valuable things would we be able to form to improve our lives, relationships, our work and the world?
My guest on this episode is thought leader, author, educator, speaker, and trained actor, Christopher Sellers. Christopher is an expert on creativity and founder of the Six Creative Skill Sets.
Over the last 15 years, he has consulted for a kaleidoscope of industries, working with leaders invested in optimal creative practice, cultures conducive to creativity and leading ideas.
Christopher's original model of APPLIED CREATIVITY and the Six Creative Skill Sets, clarify creative thinking and provide practical tools to enhance decision making, innovation, and strategy.
Christopher has spent over a decade designing specialist needs-based assessments, including 'escape rooms' for spies, scaling start-ups nationally with zero cost strategy, and re-training doctors to empathetically connect.
As a trained Actor, Christopher wrote, produced and performed much of his own work, from feature films to fringe shows before successfully optioning concepts to Netflix and the BBC.
Christopher is here to share how we can practically apply creativity to enhance how we think, feel, work and lead.

We all have something unique and great inside of us - that inner light that, when we find it, acknowledge it, and let it shine, can make a positive impact on the world around us, leaving a trail of light as we walk through the world. We all have it, some of us have trouble articulating it. How can you articulate the culmination of your all knowledge and experience that makes you, you in a way that defines you and positions you as a leader that makes a unique contribution to the world?
In comes Kath Clarke, my guest on today’s episode. Kath is not a personal development coach, an influencer, brand strategist, or even a business or career coach.
In her 12-year career, Kath has done a little bit of all those roles, and it was in that overlap that she unearthed her own unique contribution.
Kath spent years in the digital marketing space, but she stopped promoting the THING her clients were asking for and developed the two solutions they actually needed.
At the start of 2020, Kath launched Leadership Alchemy and the Courage Generator. It took 3 years of contemplative work, strengthening her intuition and awareness to find her readiness for big change.
Through 2021 Kath facilitated over 30 emerging leaders, quietly harnessing their genius zone. Kath has coached over 3000 people in workshops and programs that spanned Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, and she’s spoken on stages in Portugal, London, New Zealand and Sydney. She has been an Optus and MyBusiness Awards Judge for three consecutive years, and has been featured on TickerNews, Channel 9, ABC, and a variety of Podcasts.

Many of us over the last two years have asked ourselves these questions, “do I need to be bound to one place?” “How can I truly make an impact on this world?” “How can I better connect with others in a time of increasing disconnection?” “How can I better care for my mental health?”
My guest on this episode of the Knowledge Alchemy podcast is Amanda Bender. Amanda is the Co-founder and CEO of Kilo – a mental fitness app for men. She has a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and over 20 years of working in psychology, neuroscience, and technology.
Amanda spent much of her time working at The Green Lab, part of the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences as the supervising recruiter for patients with psychotic and mood disorders. She also taught undergraduate psychology courses and led skills training groups for randomized clinical trials that improved social cognition.
Currently living on the volcanic Lake Atitlán in Guatemala, Amanda blends her love of beauty and nature with her commitment to making a positive impact on people’s mental health. She is a down-to-earth delight on a mission to break the paradigm and bring more love into the world.

We live in a culture that values youth and shuns age. Terms so deeply ingrained in our cultural lexicon like ‘mid-life crisis’ and ‘over the hill’ reinforce our cultural view that midlife and beyond are life stages to be dreaded rather than embraced. What if, instead of fearing irrelevance, we truly honoured the wisdom that life experience brings, and the humility of understanding and acceptance?
Today I am honoured to be joined by self-professed Modern Elder, Chip Conley. A disruptor in the hospitality industry, Chip founded of Joi de Vivre Hospitality, the second-largest boutique hotel brand in the United States. After running it for 24 years, Chip then went on to help the founders of Airbnb transform their small tech start-up into the world’s leading hospitality brand. He served as Airbnb’s Head of Global Hospitality and Strategy, and today acts as the company’s Strategic Advisor for Hospitality and Leadership.
Chip is the New York Times best-selling author of five books, and more recently, has co-founded The Modern Elder Academy, the world’s first “midlife wisdom school” helping people navigate the transitions of midlife.
