Wilde About Woo is a podcast for spiritual seekers and those who want to deepen their connection with the Divine.
Each week, we explore what it means to live a life of meaning and purpose by talking spirituality, wellbeing, relationships, neuroscience and more! Whether you're just beginning your journey or have been on an inner quest for years - this podcast has something for everyone.
As we continue our tour de force through the classical elements, we’re diving (!) into the WATER element…
I’m a water sign (Scorpio), so this one resonates a lot for me.
I’ve been called all the type al ‘too water-y’ things….
“Too serious…”
“Too deep…”
“Too intimate…”
“Too trusting…”
“Too emotional…”
Basically, all the “toos”!!! 🤣
I’m sure that resonates with you too!
In today’s podcast episode, I’m sharing all the GOSS on how to rebalance your water side…
How to increase the water element, if you’re lacking… (maybe you’re the type who stubbornly refuses to go deeper than discussing the WEATHER…)
And how to balance it, if it feels out of control…. (maybe you forgive and forgive and forgive, when it’s time to abandon a toxic friendship… 🙋🏻♀️)
Water is an incredibly powerful element - as long as you allow it to flow through you in the right way…
One of the most destructive forces in the world is also one we cannot live without.
The fire element represents passion, drive, and ambition.
It's a symbol of life force, energy, power, and creativity.
We depend on warmth, cooked food, light - all fire-based!
BUT…
At the same time, it’s destructive and can be deadly…
It’s easy to only associate fire with its negative aspects.
This is especially easy now that we (mostly) don’t see the flames that heat us, or cook our food.
Even the ‘fiery language’ we use is negative…
“Flaming” for bullying…
“Getting burned” when we are scammed…
The fire element is a powerful force in the natural world.
In today’s podcast, we explore all aspects of the fire element: what it means symbolically, how you use it in your everyday life, and some tips for increasing the fire element in your spiritual life!

The air element is the most common of all natural elements. It surrounds us, we breathe it to survive.
We use it to regulate temperature by either heating or cooling the air around us.
Life giving and life preserving.
It is omnipresent, and yet for a long time I didn’t realise how much Air infuses (pun intended 🤣) our deepest soul and inner knowing.
Air is not just the life-giver, it is the SOUL-giver.
Ancient wisdom tells us the Air is the element of TRANSFORMATION…
And who doesn’t want to transform at least something in their life, right?!
In today’s podcast episode, I’m sharing some AWESOME AIRINESS!
💫 An overview of what the air element is, and what woo / ancient wisdom tells us about….
😳 What it looks like to have TOO MUCH air (Geminis, Librans, Aquarians - I’m talking to YOU!)….
🧘🏼♀️ How to increase air in your life - and we finish up with a beautiful meditation / visualisation exercise…

In the western world, we live in a culture that is deeply rooted with our five natural elements. The earth element is one of these and it has been present for all of human history.
We stand on the ground which provides us with stability and support.
We create structures out of concrete, brick or wood to protect ourselves from the weather outside while also providing us shelter and comfort inside.
In essence, this episode will explore how the earth element shows up in our lives, and ways we can increase it.
If you're an earth sign, you might think you've heard all this before - BUT you need to listen, as maybe you've become TOO earth-bound in your behaviour. Find out the symptoms of that in today's episode!

Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.
The four elements have been a part of human understanding for centuries.
And we use every single one of them every day of our lives.
Just this morning, I’ve stood on earth, breathed in air, benefitted from the warmth of fire, and hydrated with water.
The Ancient Greeks believed all things came from one of the four elements, and that they were eternal and unchanging. The Sumerians, the Maya, the Babylonians, and many other cultures and religions believed the same.
You are made up of these elements, and they surround you.
But what happens if they’re out of balance?
When they get out of balance in the world at large, we see Mass Extinction Events, sudden and dramatic events that caused the death of many different species at one point in time. Looking through the history of these, they are all related to one of the elements getting out of sync with the others.
Destructive fires.
Deluges and floods (mentioned some 500 times in historical texts!).
Earthquakes.
Asteroid collisions.
It's not a secret that ancient civilizations worshipped the elements and gods that represented them. After all, if these elements were what could kill you, why would you not?!
People also realised that we are made up of these four elements, and the more we incorporate all four into our own lives, the better we will feel.
We’ve now got out of touch with the elements, and that’s why my podcast today is all about their history. I’ll be sharing the plan for this series of episodes, where we’ll deep dive into each element in a dedicated episode.
If you ever feel out of balance, you don’t want to miss out on listening!

Wilde About Wellbeing is now Wilde About Woo!
I'm excited to introduce you to my new name, and share with you the reasons I've made this change.
In this podcast I cover: What woo-woo means, why it's important for me to make a name change, and what you can expect from me in the future. [Spoiler alert - Not much different!]
In this episode, I'm also talking about animal Medicine, particularly spiders and hyenas!
I focus on two animals in particular, the Spider and the Hyena. Spiders represent patience and persistence to me - they're always there waiting for you to get caught in their web, but is that for your own good? They also teach us how to spin our own webs and create situations that will benefit us. Hyenas have similar qualities as well - they too are focussed on creativity, but in a fun-seeking, laugh-a-minute way!

The first step to transformation is SELF AWARENESS…
I was CONVINCED that I knew myself.
I would’ve told you that I was 100% certain I was FULLY aware of every story I had.
That was such RUBBISH.
I had managed to deceive myself into believing I knew myself.
It wasn’t until I developed my skills at self awareness that I was able to TRANSFORM.
In this episode, I’m sharing the top FIVE things I did to begin my transformational process.
They’re all easy things you can start to slip into everyday life.
Before you know it, you’ll be well on your way to transforming yourself and your life!!

Would you like a MAGIC WAND?
It’s called TRANSFORMATION…
What if, just like a magic spell, you could cast dreams with your wand…
And have them come true?
What would be YOUR transformational spell?
In today’s podcast, I’m talking about exactly what transformation is.
I share with you how we get to the point where we NEED to transform our lives…
And why transformation is more necessary than ever in our current world.
Full disclosure… I DO dig into telling you about how I can coach YOU, BUT that’s a small part of the episode.
This episode isn’t about what I can do for you, but about what YOU can do for YOURSELF!
There’s plenty of meat there to get going with on your own - I’m excited you get to hear this info!!

Do you worry that being grateful for what you have NOW is complacency? I used to…
I mean, it makes some logical sense, right?
I say ‘thank you’ for, say, 1lb of weight release.
My subconscious / the Universe thinks, “Oh right, you’re happy with a 1lb?”
I never lose more than 1lb.
But that’s simply NOT TRUE.
My experience is more like this…
“Wow, subconscious, universe, body, thank you for the 1lb of weight release. You RAAAAAWK!!”
“Yay, so glad you’re pleased! Now we know how much you like weigh release, we’ll give you more!”
“Gee, 2lb released this week!? Thanks so much! I’m like a weight release MAGNET!”
In today’s podcast episode, I’m talking about how we can be grateful WITHOUT blocking ‘more, more, more’!!
You’re wishing and hoping in the WRONG DIRECTION.
“I hope I pass the exam!”
“I wish I could visit Aruba!”
“I hope I become a millionaire!”
“I wish… I hope… I wish!”
Hoping for something entails DOUBT.
If I HOPE for a certain outcome, I’m acknowledging that an alternative is possible.
“I hope I pass the exam” is NOT the same as “I will pass the exam!”
The hoping implies there’s a possibility of not passing.
The energy we put out when we hope for something is DOUBTFUL.
You’re not telling the Universe what you want to happen, love, if you’re giving the option of not passing that exam!
I now commit to the “I will pass this exam” comment…
But I know this might be hard for you, love - it was a leap for me to get to the point of disallowing doubt!
So in today’s podcast episode, I talk about the FIRST STEP to moving away from hope to reality!
That is being grateful for what you currently have.
That was the first secret, for me, to stopping the doubt that pervaded my thoughts.
If I could become grateful, I was telling the universe what I wanted more of.
I was indirectly informing the universe of what I knew (based on previous experience) could happen.
Gratitude over hope. You will not regret it.
What are you putting off - and why?
I HATED phone calls…
I’m still not someone who is on the phone regularly.
I would procrastinate about every call I had to make.
Or I would delegate it to someone else.
Having to handle accounting queries at work did MAKE me confront the fear of phones.
I was being called multiple times a day.
It was only by analysing the stories in my life that I saw where this fear of the phone came from.
My dad was an incredibly hard working vet.
In the early years of my life, he was on call most nights.
I came to associate the phone ringing with him and my mum having to leave for a veterinary emergency.
Dinners interrupted.
Film nights cut short.
Board games folded away early.
I associated the phone with an end to ‘playtime’.
BOOM!
There was the reason I didn’t like the phone.
There was the reason I put off phone calls.
Only by acknowledging this story was I able to see how unhelpful it was to me.
In today’s podcast, I share how to get over the stories from your past - AND four other tips for confronting your to do list!
Let’s stop putting things off for good!
My reptilian brain isn’t my best friend. It’s not yours either.
Unless you’re being chased by a leopard, in which case it’s gonna save your life.
The most primal part of the brain is designed for 4 vital functions… feeding, fleeing, fighting, and… reproduction!
It has always been vital to our survival (it’s also fundamental for things like breathing and heart rate), BUT…⠀
⠀
The reptilian brain is not as useful in everyday situations as it was thousands of years ago. ⠀
⠀
Just imagine: you’re a scantily clad early human. ⠀
You’re part of a tribe, made up of multiple ‘families’.⠀
In terms of protection, you have rudimentary weapons - and, most importantly, the protection of your fellow tribe members.⠀
⠀
The primal brain would ensure that you emerged unscathed from hunting for food. ⠀
It would ensure that you remained part of your tribe (since separation from them could spell death). ⠀
⠀
It was essentially a DEATH warrant, if the primal brain didn’t kick in when it needed to. ⠀
⠀
But now, what’s your wild boar hunt threat equivalent, love?⠀
Sitting at a boardroom table, arguing with your boss?!
Putting off opening that email from your mother?!
Working out how to tell your BFF you want a cosy night in front of Netflix, rather than an evening out?!
⠀
NONE of those are life or death threats, right?⠀
It doesn’t matter if your boss agrees with you…⠀
That email from your mother is not going to kill you…⠀
It’s pretty unlikely your girlfriend is going to disown you for turning her down…⠀
⠀
That’s the problem with the reptilian part of the brain - we don’t know how to manage it.⠀
Once we work on managing the situations that trigger it, we can live our lives with more HAPPINESS and less FIGHT OR FLIGHT. ⠀
⠀
In today’s podcast episode, I’m talking about CONFRONTATION….⠀
Not necessarily with people, but maybe…⠀
More about the reasons we avoid things on our to do lists…⠀
The reasons why we procrastinate, instead of action…⠀
⠀
And, of course, the reasons why confronting your fears is the best way to live your life. ⠀

ARE YOU MAKING YOUR JOURNEY CHOPPIER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE?
I was ADDICTED to the struggle of swimming against my intuition.
I lived on ‘shoulds’ - always based on what I believed that others wanted for/from me.
Then I’d MOAN…
“Oh, poor me, life is so HARD.”
“Why do others have it easier than me?”
“The world hates me.”
Are any of those feelings familiar, love?
They began to feel comfortable for me…
They were what I used as an excuse to keep FIGHTING against listening to my INNER VOICE.
Don’t get me wrong, even now, life can feel choppy!
And it’s then that I have to ask myself two super important questions…
You see, the Universe sends us obstacles and difficulties to overcome so that we GROW.
Life is not about avoiding choppiness entirely.
Life is about recognising WHO / WHAT is causing that choppiness…
If it’s your ego, then all you’re achieving is yet more pain / annoyance.
If it’s the universe, then you’re experiencing profound growth.
In today’s podcast episode, I discuss this, and four other things to think about when trying to fall into FLOW.
Alignment with your goals means you travel faster - can you afford to miss these five tips to get what you want quicker?!

HOW IS YOUR FLOW? YOUR ALIGNMENT?
And I’m not talking yoga here….
When I feel in flow, I am floating along the river of the universe, trusting I am where I am supposed to be.
When I stray out of this alignment, I feel like I’m FIGHTING against everything. Life feels difficult.
I know that when I am out of alignment, I’m letting my EGO row the boat…
That’s ALWAYS a bad idea, since my ego wants to push against the tide.
It looks at what OTHERS think is right for me…
It holds me back from being in the flow of doing what I want to do.
When I choose to be in flow, life feels EASY.
I feel like I am seeing progress.
If our growth is summed up by experiences, imagine how far you travel when in flow…
Versus swimming AGAINST the current.
The only experience in a state of resistance is one of not getting anywhere.
You cannot grow, unless you allow yourself to float, to be in alignment, to FLOW.

Ayni, ubuntu and karma are not just about helping others - they’re about your SELF-LOVE too…
Mind-blowing, right? Hear me out…
When I go for a run, or a cycle, or do one of my MMA workouts, there are two words I use.
“Thank you.”
And I say them to my body…
🦶🏻 to the feet that carry my weight…
🍑 to the bum that hates a hard cycle seat, but bears it anyway…
👊🏻 to the hands that clench when I’m punching…
And when I’m grateful for those body parts’ work, what happens?
They continue to work hard for me.
They continue to help me achieve my physical goals.
My body gives back in karma its own thanks for my gratitude.
It may sound crazy that we subject OURSELVES to the law of reciprocity, but we do.
Doing things for others will result in goodness boomeranging back to us…
And that boomerang works within us too - the more I love myself, the more my body will love me back…
I share more on this as one of the ways to practise the concept of ayni in today’s episode, as well as 4 other tips for cultivating more of it in your life.

Ayni… Ubuntu… Karma… They’re all more or less the same thing, with the same route: The Law of Reciprocity.
Whatever joy / help / love I give to others, I will receive gifts that I need (not always what I WANT, ha!) in return.
Everything is connected by ENERGY - I am connected to you, and we are all connected to the world’s community, the Earth herself, and all the dimensions beyond this one…
It is a privilege that we get to support each other, and ourselves through the law of reciprocity.
Individual acts of giving literally change the world’s energy, in a butterfly effect.
Karma is a beautiful thing - and should be a way of life for all of us.
I talk more about this in the podcast episode today because it’s really important in my own life.
Every action that I perform in this world can be one that embraces the concept of ayni.
I choose to live a lifestyle of generosity to result in a life of reciprocal abundance.

I KEPT MYSELF FEELING STUCK BY USING REALLLLLY UNHELPFUL LANGUAGE!
I know we’ve all heard the stuff about ‘self talk’ - and, if you’re anything like me, love, you probably shrug your shoulders..
Like that could help you, right?
Wrong.
You see, I was always using language that kept me POWERLESS.
“I don’t have enough [time / money / knowledge / strength / understanding / etc / etc / etc]”
“I’m not the right person for this.”
“I’ll never succeed at reaching my [goal weight / ideal salary / vision board ambitions / etc / etc / etc]”
Even when I write podcast notes and Instagram posts, I can go to one of those “not enough” type thoughts.
“Maybe they don’t want to hear from me.”
“There’ll be other people out there to voice this more eloquently than ME.”
But now I know that language is what HOLDS ME BACK.
I am, literally, telling the Universe that my focus is on failure / no success / not being able to get anywhere
I’m NOT a victim of my circumstances, and nor are you.
Once we realise this, we can stop feeling ‘STUCK’.
This language tip is just one of those I share in today’s podcast!!

YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN STUCK.
We’ve all said it, right, love?
“I’m STUCK!”
“I can’t do ANYTHING about XYZ!”
“It’s so unfair!”
That used to be me ALL. THE. TIME.
The reason you FEEL stuck is simple: it’s down to your PERSPECTIVE.
You get to CHOOSE how to approach any situation.
You get to CHOOSE whether to see yourself as INCAPABLE.
You get to CHOOSE the steps to take to MOVE away from your current situation.
You are IN CONTROL.
In today’s podcast, I share my thoughts on this idea of ‘STUCKNESS’.
I get how it feels - because I’ve been there, and share lots of examples from my own life.
I started ALLOWING myself to feel FREEDOM to be who I want to.
I stopped LETTING MYSELF get caught up in feelings that I couldn’t move forward.
I started TAKING choices that made me GROW.
I was never stuck, or nor were / are you.

I also talk about baths and using them as ‘treatment’ for body and soul….

WATER IS POWERFUL.
A few days ago, I pulled the Animal Medicine Oracle Card of FROG.
It represents, amongst other things, a need to cleanse, with the obvious connection to washing / bathing in water.
In this podcast episode, I share all sorts of ways in which we use water in everyday life and in our spirituality.
Do you find water hypnotic, love?
I do. Staring at a waterfall, or listening to the rain.
It’s also a playful substance - when did you last jump in the puddles of a rainy day?!?
I felt called to share my musings on water with you…
Perhaps it’s a call for you, like the frog, to cleanse…
Or hop between puddles…
Or allow the grounding water of the shower to generate creative ideas…

I’VE STRUGGLED A LOT WITH BEING AN EMPATH WITH BOUNDARIES!
I’ve even been told by others that my boundaries mean I’m NOT an empath.
What rubbish!!
Just because you are an empath, love, it doesn’t mean that you have to condone everything others do.
You get to have BOUNDARIES!
You get to say, “I love you, but that’s not an acceptable behaviour.”
I’ve done this with a few people recently.
It feels GOOD.
If someone doesn’t wish to turn up as their best self, that’s on THEM…
But I don’t have to put up with it.
I get to be an empath AND value myself.
In today’s podcast, I’m talking about how we get to be both empathetic and people who condemn things like The Capitol insurrection…

HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE CAPITOL RIOTERS’ ACTIONS, WHILST CONDEMNING THEM.
I’ve found it hard to reconcile my feelings about the insurrection at The Capitol.
I see each and every one of those rioters as gaslit, misled by a desperate man out of his depth.
When any of us are lied to, we become VICTIMS of those lies.
If we act heinously on those lies, do we remain victims?
This was the question I kept asking myself.
I believe that the rioters were victims of Trump’s hate speech and lies… HOWEVER…
The violent acts they committed - the theft, the bloodshed, the murder, those cannot be condoned.
We each have FREE WILL.
Whilst we can be manipulated to believe lies, we still get to CHOOSE our reactions.
Those rioters may have believed VP Pence could overturn Biden becoming president (he couldn’t)…
They may have believed in the ‘election fraud’ (of which there’s no evidence)…
Those things would understandably piss them off.
But they chose to take their anger and turn it into violence.
I have to remind myself that being an empath is about understanding, not condoning.
I understand why those rioters felt the need to commit violent acts.
But I DO NOT condone it.
I get to understand people, but also have boundaries around acceptable behaviour.
This is what I’m discussing on today’s podcast - maybe it’s controversial, but it’s important!

HATE IS NEVER WARRANTED - NO MATTER WHO IT’S FOR.⠀
⠀
Today’s pod and blog offer you five ways you can begin to create HARMONY in your relationships, and the WORLD at large, love.⠀
⠀
The primary thing you need to know is that hate only begets hate.⠀
Every time you say you hate someone, the energy you create is just that of more hatred. ⠀
⠀
We can dislike people’s opinions and their actions. ⠀
⠀
BUT… we can STILL empathise with them. ⠀
⠀
Empathy isn’t about condoning, it’s about UNDERSTANDING.⠀
⠀
So I understand where the Capitol rioters desires for violence came from. ⠀
I do not condone them.⠀
I condemn their actions, but I don’t write them off as humans.⠀
⠀
It is UNACCEPTABLE behaviour, but that doesn’t mean the person is so totally irredeemable that we should hate them. ⠀
After all, that only plays into their hands - their “us and them” viewpoint.⠀
⠀
Hate is not the way forward. From ANY of us. ⠀⠀

FREE SPEECH IS WAY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN WE MIGHT THINK.⠀
⠀
In today’s podcast, I’m talking about the PAIN of freedom of speech.⠀
⠀
With Donald Trump’s very public banning from Twitter, many questions are coming up.⠀
⠀
Where does freedom of speech stop, and hate speech start?⠀
Are we even ALLOWED to hate anymore?⠀
⠀
What’s my DUTY as a poster?⠀
What’s my DUTY as a reader?⠀
Where does the user’s role stop, and the social media companies’ role start?⠀
⠀
So. Many. Questions.⠀
So. Many. Grey. Areas.⠀
⠀
I also, perhaps controversially look at HYPOCRITICAL behaviour…
Those who say, “I hate Trump because of his attitude towards [insert any minority ever here]” are as bad as Trump himself. ⠀
⠀
Hatred of ANYONE is never going to foster harmony… or is it?!⠀

Are you struggling to get started in the new year?
I am, and that's why I'm putting out an episode all about goals for 2021.
I KNOW that when I have a goal in mind, it's easier to motivate myself to DO stuff... rather than sit and eat leftover mince pies and chocolate (doing that too!).
When you know the steps you can take (always break goals down!), there's ALWAYS something you can do towards your ambitions and dreams.

2020's been hard as NAILS. I know that, you know that, we all know that.
Spending time apart from our loved ones has been painful.

2021 can only get better, one must hope, right?!

December is an important time. Many religions have December festivals of some kind, but I think even if you're not religious or your religion isn't one that is celebrating in December, it’s a month when we all tend to come together.
2020 has obviously thrown a curveball in terms of celebrations this year, but that doesn’t detract from this time of year. The trees are still up, the menorahs still lit, only this year’s reminder feels like one of reflection, rather than fun.
None of this means that the holidays feel any less stressful, though – we still care about showing up in the right way for relatives. This year, arguably, it’s more stressful than ever, having to make decisions about who we see and how we protect them. And that’s on top of the usual Christmas stresses.
I’m resharing last year's holiday episode because the content is still relevant, even in the midst of a global pandemic. Just because we’ve all realised how we usually take spending time with others for granted, it doesn’t mean that the holidays will be a walk in the park.
Holidays stress is a real thing, every year. Many people simply don't like Christmas - and that's perfectly okay. No one should judge you for that.

ONE POTATO, TWO POTATO, THREE POTATO, FOUR. I SAT COUNTING THE CALORIES IN MY HEAD.
I didn’t notice the pretty table centres, the scent of pine needles on the air, or the crackling of the log fire.
All I noticed was what was on my plate.
That’s how previous Christmas meals have often looked for me.
I was judging myself from the second I sat down to eat, intensely focussed on each roast potato, every carrot, every bite of turkey.
In today’s blog and podcast, I’m sharing FIVE super important things I’ve learned in my self love journey.
I realised that I needed to stop the judgment, to let my body dictate what she wants to eat, and to love her regardless of her weight.
My weight does not define me.
My [outer] body does not define me.
I define myself by who I am, not what I am!

I SHAMED WOMEN IN THE BODY POSITIVITY MOVEMENT. This is my most confessional / vulnerable / emotional blog and pod yet!
I wasn’t one of those people who trolled their threads, love.
My opinions were in my own head.
But I was still a BODY SHAMER.
I didn’t understand what body positivity was.
I believed that women involved in the movement were condoning the extremes of obesity and anorexia.
I thought it was promotion of the most unhealthy type.
Then I realised that these women weren’t judging their WEIGHT.
To them, they were appreciative of their bodies, accepting themselves whatever the number of the scale.
They were showing that a body was about a LOT more than just weight.
In my own weight release journey, I’ve come to realise that without body positivity, I simply don’t release weight.
If someone was bullying me, then asked for a favour, I’d tell them to eff off.
I was doing that by asking my body to release weight, while berating her for being too big / ugly etc.
Hit up the link in my bio to understand more about the journey I’ve been on with accepting my body.
Gratitude for this body I’m in has made a world of difference to me.

I CAN BE THE WORST KIND OF ADVICE GIVER.
What bugs you about advice givers most of all, love?
I bet your first answer will be: the givers of UNSOLICITED advice.
No matter how well-meaning that advice is.
GUILTY. As. Charged.
I realised the other day that I often give unsolicited advice.
It’s resulted in me getting it thrown back in my face A LOT.
And it SUCKS when people hate your advice, right?!
Now I’ve noticed, I’ve adopted two new advice-giving methods:
Blog or pod it instead of offering advice directly - who KNOWS how many more people I’ll help doing that?! Drop. The. Mic. [or pen, I guess, for a blog… or keyboard key…]
I OFFER advice [I know, mind-blowing, right?!] - “wanna hear the advice I’ve got on this, let me know!!”
In today’s BLOG AND POD, I share 5 top tips for advice-giving… It’s not easy, eh, love?!
I’m sharing my experience and… oh… yeah…. ADVICE!!!

If you get upset when someone rejects your help / advice, you need to listen!
You are CHOOSING to get upset, love.
You are CHOOSING to feel frustrated.
You are CHOOSING to give meaning to someone else’s opinion.
Nothing means anything except the meaning you give to it.
And I do all of those things too, but now I see that there are ways to avoid the PAIN.
I was letting myself feel discomfort when my advice didn’t HIT HOME…
Then I realised two important things:
We are all on a different journey - some of us take longer than others to be ready to accept advice…
I have ZERO CONTROL over how others receive the GIFT of my advice..
I KNOW my stuff. I have faith in myself to help others.
I am AWESOME at coaching others, if they’re ready and willing to accept the help.
The GIFT of my help - bc that’s exactly what it is.
I have a gift from the universe - to be able to assimilate all my experience and knowledge with my strong intuition and empathy.
That gift is one I pass on to others.
It’s not my job to judge how the gift is received.
My purpose is simply to put the information out into the world.
I share it, not knowing who will receive it, or how.
SHARING is my job, controlling the response of others is not.

“What will it take for you to trust yourself?”
I’m in a transformation programme (TCP by @iamjimfortin ) right now, and one of the coaches asked me that question.
I get stuck in not trusting myself and the universe. When I don’t trust, I not only feel bad, I also feel STUCK.
I can SEE that, and yet I still struggle with self-trust.
Today, I’m admitting that this podcast is as much (more?!) for me as you, love.
And it is FASCINATING some of the benefits that having self-trust can give us (altruistic volunteering, anyone?!)

Why don’t you have a bucket list? It’s not as if you’re not dying…
We’re all dying.
You, me, and everyone we’re surrounded by.
Death is the ultimate fact of life.
In today’s pod, I’m outlining how to go about drawing up a living bucket list.
They’re SUPER speedy to read / listen to, and will give you lots of ideas for the FIVE key areas I think need to be considered for your bucket list!
Given that we’re all dying, why don’t we compile our bucket list NOW?

If You Die Tomorrow, Will You Have Regrets?
So it’s a macabre question, I know, but will you?
I’m pretty sure your answer will be “yes”. Mine was too, love.
You see, we get so busy with LIVING that we let ourselves FORGET that we’re dying.
And what happens then? We stop prioritising things - we let our lives fill with busy-ness that doesn’t serve us.
Think about terminally ill people who compile a bucket list.
The only reason they NEED a bucket list is because they didn’t remember they were dying, until someone told them.
If they had remembered they were dying every day of their lives, they’d have had no regrets.
There would be no bucket list because they’d have fulfilled all those dreams and wishes.
I know it’s SCARY to look death in the face.
But it is the greatest TEACHER we could ever ask for.
The guillotine is falling as soon as we’re CONCEIVED, before we’re even born.
And yet we refuse to talk about death, like we’re somehow going to outrun it by doing so.
When my mother-in-law was terminal, no one would talk with her about her death, her funeral.
Except me.
I was seen as macabre for this, but it was important to her - and me.
I’ve seen many people close to me die around 70. Yes, that’s ‘too young’.
But it’s made me realise that we never know when will be our last day.
So now what am I doing?
I’m trying to make every day count.
I am dying, and so are you.
It’s time to realise that death is what makes life worth living to the max.

I WAS CLUELESS ABOUT WHAT MY HABITS EVEN WERE…. HOW COULD I CHANGE THE ‘BAD’ ONES, IF I DIDN’T EVEN SEE THEM?!
In today’s podcast, I’m sharing 5 steps to change your habits.
The first step, to me, was the MOST IMPORTANT.
I had to go through an exercise that highlighted what habits I had.
It sounds stupid to say I didn’t know my habits.
Of course, I knew some of them, but until I undertook the activity I describe in step one of this process, I didn’t know exactly what they were.
It’s not stupid to not know all your habits, love.
Unless we’re really diligent, it’s REALLY easy to miss them…
That’s why I had to put together the guidance in today’s pod and blog about exactly how to go about CHANGING YOUR HABITS!
Can’t wait to hear how you get on with this, love!!

NO ONE EVER PICKED UP A DRINK THINKING “I’M GOING TO GET ADDICTED TO THIS.”
We don’t always make our decisions about our habits consciously.
The ones that end up not serving us are, indeed, the most unlikely to been stepped into knowingly.
Maybe you took a drink to steel your nerves for a first date, love?
Or found that you were ‘lucky’ when you won a bet?
Perhaps you were feeling lonely in your relationship, and porn filled the intimacy gap?
The problem is that EVERY HABIT is on a SEESAW.
It starts out serving you - you’re less shy; you feel lucky; you don’t feel so lonely, etc.
Gradually you move towards the seesaw’s pivot point, and that’s where the trouble starts.
After the pivot, comes the ‘downhill’.
The habit has become UNSERVING.
The drinks mean you’re at work with a hangover.
The bets mean you’re scared to look at your bank account.
The porn means you feel constant shame.
YOU DIDN’T KNOW THAT WOULD HAPPEN.
People say BS like “Oh alcohol is always a slippery slope - (s)he must’ve known that.”
Why MUST you have known that, love?
Especially for yourself…
You see, our habits can be MANIPULATIVE - they make us believe that we’ll be in the vast majority of the world…
That vast majority that don’t let drinking, gambling, porn become unserving to them.
NEVER BEAT YOURSELF UP FOR THE 1ST OR 101ST TIME YOU PICKED UP.
YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST.
But you CAN change the future.
In today’s pod, I’m talking all sorts of habits - not just addiction.
I believe in you, love.
Have you ever started tracking something, then stopped? Why?
I’m pretty sure your answer will be something to do with it not offering you enough information. You might say you got bored, or you forgot, but would you have felt that way, if the data you were getting from it was useful?
I started – and stopped – tracking many things, many times until I found a five-step process. I have not stopped tracking anything, except when I’ve hit a goal, since I came up with this method.
I hope that the principles I’m sharing in today’s pod and blog will give you everything you need to reach your goals!

I WAS CONVINCED I WAS A WEIGHT LOSS SCIENTIFIC ANOMALY. I wasn’t.
And you’re probably not either, love: you’re just UNIQUE.
How often do people tell you to do this to release weight, or do that, or do the other?
How often have you see things touting GUARANTEES?!
Yup, a lot, right?!
And nothing’s working for you either, love?
Well. Here’s what worked for me. TRACKING.
It sounds boring, doesn’t it?
Calories in.
Calories out.
Weight.
Full disclosure: I also track my macros and hours in keto (through intermittent fasting).
You learn what to track - calories in vs calories out didn’t work for me, so then I started tracking macros (carbs, protein, fat).
That was the breakthrough for me.
Every habit is a SCIENCE.
Figure out what makes it better, and do more of that.
Figure out what makes it worse, and do less of that. ⛔️
This latest podcast is all about how tracking has worked for me - and some of the pitfalls to avoid!

HELLO, I’M KELLER AND I’M AN ALTER EGO… ⠀
I’ve worked for a long time at manifesting material things into my life - cars, houses, investment value increases, and so on…⠀
BUT I’ve never really worked on manifesting an IDENTITY that fits with how I want my life to look.
That’s where my ALTER EGO comes in… Keller… She’s pretty badass and 100 times more awesome than my old identity!⠀
When I’m stuck, I remind myself of my future identity, and ask one important question:⠀
“What would Keller do?”
The answers aren’t always cut and dried, but they are useful…
Talking of answers, wanna know how I came up with her name, love?⠀
Well, overthinker that I am [most people just pick any name], I decided to ask my subconscious.⠀
I asked before bed, and then had a dream in which the name Keller came to me.⠀
I laughed as the only thing I knew Keller to mean was “cellar” in German - I giggled that even my subconscious had noticed I like a glass of wine!⠀
I don’t know why, but a few days later, I felt drawn to hit up name meanings on Google.
And, lo and behold, there was the name.⠀
In Gaelic, Keller means ‘LITTLE CHAMPION’….⠀
The universe speaks to us in mysterious ways - and she has a sense of humour, clearly!!⠀
I’m even more delighted with my alter ego now I know she has such an empowering name!⠀
In today’s pod and blog, I’m sharing Keller’s whole biography, as an example for you to find your own!⠀
And the 11 POWERFUL questions I asked myself to dream up my alter ego.

YOU NEED AN ALTER EGO - here's why!
Do you remember as a kid you aspired to be the popstar of the moment? The way we'd copy exactly what they did.
Alter egos in adult life are kinda similar.
You see, if you don't have what you want already, love, you're not going to get it unless you start thinking about your identity.
For example, if you see yourself as "overweight person" (this is a biggie, pun intended, for me), you can't be normal weight.
Your identity matters. It's how you see yourself, and what you believe - in your subconscious - that you're capable of.
How many people do you know who flip between overweight and slim? I know plenty - myself included. Why do you think they can't keep up the weight loss?
It's all about their identity. They have the "fat person" belief.
The people who release weight and keep it off? They've changed their internal identity. They now believe in themselves as "slim person".
Changing your identity is HARD. That's why I'm sharing a little technique to help you on your way: the alter ego.
It's amazing how you can look at the traits that are aligned with what you want and turn the volume up on them. Then you'll instantly start attracting everything you want in life...
Sustained weight...
Consistent bank account...
Growing abundance...
Stable relationships...
AND MORE!

EVEN JOYOUS EVENTS CAN TEACH US SOMETHING!
How often do you experience something AMAZING, scream about it on social media and then….⠀
FORGET about it?
Yup, me too!
Have you heard the quote that “Success always leaves footprints” (Booker T Washington), love?⠀
If you’re anything like me, you let the footprints of negative events stay imprinted on your fragile heart FOREVER.
You let them pain you whenever you think about them, and assume they’ll always be there, right?
But the footprints from successful experiences?
Maybe like me, they pass as quickly as those made in sand once the tide comes in…
I’ve heard LOTS about how we should always look for the positive in negative situations…⠀
And I’ve always tried to do that: find the learning points, so that it doesn’t happen again.⠀
Yet, I’ve heard very few people talking about learning from the experiences that we ADORE! ⠀
It’s the same, though, right? ⠀
Just instead of looking for the learning to teach us to avoid these things in future, we want to know how to get MORE of them.
In today’s BLOG and PODCAST, I’m sharing a FIVE STEP PROCESS that works for both enjoyable and painful experiences! ⠀
I want you to get All. The. Learning, love… good and bad…

I’ve spent more than a DECADE feeling upset about my university degree.
I felt like a FAILURE because I didn’t think the grade was good enough.
That grade - to my mind - was too AVERAGE. Actually. BELOW average.
What I did…
-- Took every degree and diploma going to try and make up for it - DIDN’T WORK
-- Became an accountant to prove I was academic AF - DIDN’T WORK
-- Continually reminded myself of it, so that I never did worse than I hoped again - DIDN’T WORK
-- Told myself I was useless and stupid - DIDN’T WORK
It took me nearly THIRTEEN YEARS to realise that those things hadn’t worked - and that I could try to THINK DIFFERENTLY! Mind. Blown. 🤯
I came at it from a different angle: I asked a simple question.
WHAT DID GETTING A 2.2 (like a US GPA 4.0 or so) TEACH ME?
Thus far, it had taught me nothing except berating myself wasn’t helpful.
But I thought harder… And I realised that everything we go through is a learning point.
Not doing as well as I hoped on that degree taught me…
++ Things don’t always go as we want
++ We do not die from things not going as we’d like
++ People still love us, regardless of our degree (I got married to someone I met after I got my 2.2 - imagine that!)
++ A 2.2 degree doesn’t ruin your job chances (no matter how ‘too academic’ the job you eventually get is…!)
I can tell you - it’s FREEING to realise that we get to investigate what we can learn from all the events we go through.
In this podcast, you'll hear all about how you can turn the bad feelings into good ones!
DON’T “MAKE THE BEST OF WHAT YOU HAVE” - that’s doing yourself a disservice!
Here’s why…
Who already has what you want?
Do you think they sat around waiting for it to happen, love?
Or do you think they turned the volume up on their personality traits that would most help them get the things they desired?
I’m pretty confident the characteristics came first.
If you can emulate the characteristics of someone who already has what you want, you are WINNING.
It is this modelling that will help you to call in everything you’ve ever wanted.

I TRIPLED MY PODCAST DOWNLOADS IN 2 MONTHS… Here’s how you can win your dreams too!
My manifestation game is strong.
The universe is always on my side.
So I was kinda surprised at the long-standing nature of one of my manifestation desires.
The desire is to hit 1m podcast downloads - and, no, I’m not there yet… but the months after committing to this didn’t show much growth AT ALL.
I kept asking myself what I’d done wrong - as I KNOW when manifestation isn’t working, it’s because there’s a boo-boo in the process somewhere.
It IS an exact science - it’s as much a universal law as gravity is.
That was when I realised that I didn’t FEEL like a one-million plus podcaster.
I didn’t feel worthy of that honour.
I wasn’t BEING the one-million podcaster BEFORE I got there.
I looked at the personality traits of those who already had what I wanted.
I started to emulate their behaviours, and that’s when my podcast downloads tripled in two months.
The universe finally recognised that I was worthy of being set on the 1m download journey.
In today’s podcast, I’m talking about how we have to STOP ASPIRING and START BEING

I KNOW WHY YOU CAN’T MANIFEST ANYTHING. Yes, I darned well do!!
There are VERY few things in life that I 100% trust myself helping others with, but fixing manifestation?
Hell, YES!
I’m sharing my five QUICK START manifestation tips - these are GOLD DUST.
Do you feel like you can’t get anything you want in life, love?
Or maybe you think you’re doing EVERYTHING to manifest and IT’S. NOT. WORKING?
Or perhaps you love the IDEA of manifestation, but have no clue to start? [Heck, that was me!]

GETTING EVERYTHING YOU WANT IS POSSIBLE - BUT THERE ARE TRAPS TO AVOID!
And I’m here to be your guide to avoid those downfalls!⠀
In today’s podcast episode, I’m excited to share answers to a question I get asked a lot:⠀
“Does manifestation really exist? I’ve tried it a couple times, but it doesn’t work for me.”⠀
Have you ever asked that, love? I have!
I didn’t realise that manifestation was my responsibility, as well as the universe’s. ⠀
I thought that things would “just happen.”
Imagine this…⠀
If as a kid, you’d had that same attitude to learning to walk, you’d still be crawling.
Kids do not give up - they appreciate things are a learning curve. ⠀
They seem to get that while practice may not make perfect, it does make things a hell of a lot easier.⠀
If you’re failing to manifest anything right now, and feel like you’re doing ALL. The. Things, you need to listen to today’s pod.
I PROMISE you that there is no reason why it doesn’t work for you that can’t be solved.⠀
I’m proof that it works.

MY BRAIN IS NOT AS RELIABLE AS I’D LIKE TO THINK
I pretty much trusted my brain for YEARS.
I believed everything it told me.
That was a terrible idea.
I had a Stockholm Syndrome type relationship with my brain.
It had caught me so hard that I no longer believed it was anything other than my friend.
It was not my friend.
You know why?
Because I was not my friend.
I was not my friend.
And I was saying things in passing, wondering maybe whether saying the labels aloud made them fit…
“I’m stupid…”
“I’m ugly…”
“I’m too fat…”
I was just trying them for size the first few times, but my brain was LISTENING.
And that’s how those awful labels ended up in my subconscious.
Lying in wait to trip me up frequently.
As @igntd.me ’s #OnceAnAddict campaign is proving: these labels can alter our lives.
Someone who labels themselves an “addict” is WAY more than that, even if they don’t see it.
But what label do they carry with them? The stigma of the ‘addict’ label…
These negative and judgmental labels are not good for us.
My latest episode has a FIVE STEP PROCESS to shake up your brain!
Start using your brain for good - learn to drop the labels and replace them with healthier ones.

I LABELLED MYSELF AS "FAT AND UGLY".
Do you know what happens when you put a label like that on yourself?
You believe it.
Your brain doesn’t analyse the stuff you’re telling it - it just accepts it.
Then what happens when you’re next making a decision?
Your brain jumps to a conclusion for you, based on all those labels you hold within your identity.
Me: “Hmmm, do I want another cake?”
Subconscious: “I’m fat”
Decision: “Might as well, I’m fat already”
Me: “Should I go live on Instagram?”
Subconscious: “I’m ugly”
Decision: “No way, I’m not cute enough for that!”
Me: “Should I start coaching others?”
Subconscious: “I’m not good enough”
Decision: “Nope - you’re not good enough.”
We let ourselves live our lives by these subconscious beliefs and labels that sit in the depths of our being.
Things from years ago are dictating everything you do.
But we can drop the labels - that’s what’s so exciting!!
This was inspired by Dr Adi Jaffe / IGNTD's #OnceAnAddict campaign - check it out at igntd.com/oaa
It’s time to drop the stigma and labels around addiction.

IT’S NOT EASY TO TRUST THE UNIVERSE. (Or God, Source, Quantum Field, or who/whatever you see as the Creator).
We live in such a noisy, chaotic world that it feels like we have to be constantly in control.
I used to feel that if I left anything up to the Universe, it may not happen as I wanted it to.
So I CLUNG to what I thought I could control, dismissing the Universe’s role as unhelpful.
And then I got outcomes I didn’t want.
And - get this! - I blamed the Universe, despite having dismissed it thinking I knew better!
Now, I know better… well… I know the Universe knows better…
And I’m sharing 5 things the Universe would want me to share with you…
These are five things I wish I’d known!

I previously shared the first six laws of the universe. Having blogged and written that, I realised how little known and understood these laws are. It made me even keener to share the latter six with full definitions.
Before I share them, remember that you have a choice about which of these laws to believe in, and live your life by. It may be that they all resonate with you, but it may also be that only one or two feel applicable in your life. Either way, take what you need, leave what you don’t.

If the universe could talk...! In today's episode, I'm sharing the 5 things that I think it would tell us, based on what we've learned from the universal laws.
They’re certainly five things I’ve adopted into my own life, and I’ve become more successful by doing so.
It’s easy to write them off as ‘woo woo’ or spiritual nonsense, but the truth is that it really doesn’t matter. If you believe in them, they will make your life better, no matter where you think they stem from.

There are twelve universal laws, which we are able to use in all areas of our lives. They may seem unscientific, a little ‘woo woo’, but many are based within science. I’m sharing the first six of them, and asking you to have an open mind.
It doesn’t matter if you come to the point of disbelieving the universal laws, believing some but not others. What matters is that you are willing to consider whether they might be applicable in your life.
You can be both skeptical and open-minded.
In science, we accept that there are things we do not understand. It’s the same with the universal laws: we get to choose to regard them as unproven, rather than as false. We make that choice.
Here are the first six of laws, as I understand them, and with some ways in which I see them crop up in my own life.

I THOUGHT MANIFESTATION WAS NONSENSE. Until it worked for me…⠀
⠀
Are you a skeptic?⠀
Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you I’m the greatest skeptic of all where anything spiritual / faith-based / woo-woo is concerned. ⠀
⠀
Imagine how frustrating it was for a skeptic like me to find out manifestation actually WORKS?!
⠀
In today’s podcast, I share some of the ways manifestation has been successful for me - and how it could be successful for you too. ⠀
⠀
I know that you probably feel put off - you think that the person who’s normally pretty straightforward, scientific, therapeutic has lost her mind talking about all this woo-woo stuff…⠀
Trust me, I thought that about me too!
⠀
But it works. I won’t tell you about anything that doesn’t work for me. I believe manifestation will work for you too.⠀
To the extent that I’m excited to be on this journey with you - I want to hear what YOU manifest, what you imagine is possible. ⠀
⠀
I wouldn’t share this stuff unless I believed in it. ⠀

Hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, and pre-diabetes caused my physical health to deteriorate. The symptoms associated with being hypothyroid were especially trying on my mental health. Fatigue, weight gain, feeling cold all the time, and hair loss all increased my depression.
I was at such a low point emotionally that the steps I took not only saved my thyroid, but also my life.
When a blood test proved my thyroid hormones and glucose levels were out of whack, I felt frustrated. All I did was complain, and ask, “Why me?” My mental health deteriorated further than usual.
It was at that point I decided that I needed to fight back.
This podcast episode is the story of the five month fight back that ended with normalised thyroid hormones, and no sign of diabetes.

In the last podcast episode, we talked about what values mean to us, and how we (and others) are able to shape our own personal values.
We talked about the importance of being conscious of what personal core values we are developing, so in this episode, I'm sharing an easy process to find out what your values are right now.
By questioning how you show up in significant moments in your life, both good and bad, you'll be able to determine what your are.
In my experience, I found that "care for others," "reliability" and a "sense of community" came from the fulfilling activity of making scrubs for healthcare workers. I was then able to see these cropping up elsewhere in my life (e.g. making this podcast), and realised that these are values that are deeply embedded within me.
Having a list of the values my moral code seems to consist of was incredibly helpful. It allowed me to think about which values I want to exploit more, and which might be ones I'd like to remove (because - spoiler alert - some of us display ethics that we have subconsciously absorbed and don't truly serve us).
"Loyalty" was a value this process led me to really question. I realised that a conflict with a relative was so painful to me because I'm incredibly loyal. If I only looked at the way that value showed up in that event, I'd probably have wanted to leave it behind because it was incredibly painful.
The process, though, of examining these values more closely led me to be able to analyse other places that my loyalty shows up: for example, I'm a friend, who will check in on people regularly, and continuously stand beside them in whatever they face. That's not painful, that's fulfilling - a reason to keep and use my loyalty even more!
I also came to realise something else important about my personal core values: they also dictate what I'm passion about, and help me to define what activities are in alignment with who I am.

"IT'S NOT WORTH IT" <--- WHO SAYS?!
Value is defined by the Google Dictionary as “the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.”
Thus, when we say "it's not worth $50", we're making a judgement call. We're actually saying that thing "doesn't hold $50 of value for me".
I love my $200 body composition bathroom scales, but if you offered me (and I could easily afford) a $200k+ DEXA scanner, would I want it?
The call I'd make is whether it was 1000x (i.e. $200k / $200) more useful / worthwhile to me. For me, the answer would be "no", but for a pro-athlete? Maybe a different response.
Value isn't assigned by the price on the label, but by the buyer - and, because it's an opinion the buyer holds, it means the seller can change their mind.
Essentially, business marketing is about persuading someone that something is useful to them.
But what about the OTHER definition of "value"? The personal one?
Google Dictionary defines this as "principles or standards of behaviour; one's judgement of what is important in life."
I have inbuilt values that dictate how I live my life on a day to day basis.
But how do these compare to monetary values?
Well! Just like a good marketing campaign can shape what you believe the worth is of a product or service, your personal values and ethics can also be shaped by external 'forces'.
Our values come from past stories that we have told ourselves or have heard or seen from those around us. It means that we begin to ABSORB even the most personal of ethical morals from what is going on around us.
We may not previously have thought much about having the personal value of "protecting others", for example, and yet now we are wearing masks to help avoid others suffering. This new value many of us are developing has come from news stories, WHO advice, government campaigns and so on.
We have been shaped into people who protect others (through the use of masks) by the information that we are absorbing. We would not necessarily have automatically come to do this, and make this association between a strong ethical demand to protect others, and the wearing of a face covering.
Whilst this is a GOOD (in my opinion) shifting of personal values, we need to be conscious of what we are subconsciously absorbing. Just as when we spend money, we use a cost-benefit analysis ("is this worth $50 to me?"), we need to be thinking of our personal values similarly.
"Is protecting others worthwhile to me? Is this a value I want to adopt?" [I hope your answer is "yes" to this one, by the way!].
There is value in EVERYTHING to someone - you just need to work out if that someone is you.

ONE MASSIVE PART OF MY PERSONALITY I RUN FROM - my empathy.
It sounds kinda silly to be frightened of something that is supposed to [and, indeed DOES] bring about deep, passionate, purposeful connections with people, animals and situations.
But it can get incredibly painful - absorbing EVERYONE'S emotions, not always being capable of working out which feelings actually belong to me...
I also attempt to problem solve, whether I'm asked to or not - that's led to a few 'heated discussions' over the years...
These things convinced me that I didn't WANT to be an empath, that I needed to run as fast and far as possible from this godforsaken 'skill'.
My coach and I have touched on this a number of times over the last few years, but it's only in the last month or so that I've honestly made a commitment to accept this as a part of me.
It feels bizarre to embrace something that doesn't have scientific explanation. I'm ever the skeptic about woo-woo...

Did you know that you're just a glorified carrot?
Like vegetables, we need conditions to be just right for us to grow.
Water, feeding, sunlight, temperature, greenhouse vs outside, soil, size of container - plants are fussy little creatures, really!
But - newsflash! - where our personal development is concerned, we need to be just as FINICKY!
Sometimes, we get so out of control that we do things we don't even know will help us grow - stressed veggie plants do that too, they put out a heap of male flowers, and no fruit.
They are producing pointlessly, simply panicking - and we do the same sometimes.
But, the truth is, gardeners have learned to treat plants in the optimum way to maximise ripe fruit or flowers. And we can do the same with our progress... we just have to pay attention to what works for us!
Plants just keep growing towards the light, like we grow towards our goals, when the environment is working for us.
And we have one MASSIVE benefit over plants - they have a limited growing window, but we have every day of our whole lives.
In today's podcast, I discuss how we owe it to ourselves to create the right personal growth conditions for ourselves and stick to them consistently. Just like that herb plant growing on your windowsill.

The barrier to change / a great job / decent healthcare / acceptance is never YOU.
The barrier is societal patriarchy... white supremacy... systemic racism... culturally engrained homophobia... and so on...
In today's episode, I share the five steps I use to go from seeing MYSELF as the problem to viewing the TRUE obstacle.
We cannot bring change, unless we're ready to see how society's perception of certain groups is the genuine barrier, rather than things we cannot change (e.g. skin colour / sexuality etc).

"I'm female, therefore I can't get a boardroom job" = being female is the problem. NO!
The barrier is societal patriarchy.
"I'm Black, therefore I can't get optimal healthcare" = being Black is the problem. NO!
The obstacle is systemic racism.
"I'm gay, therefore I am not accepted into this religion" = being gay is the problem. NO!
The issue is culturally engrained homophobia.
YOU are never the problem, and by labelling the problem as yours because of something you can't change, you're ignoring what you CAN change: society's perception of your skin colour / sexuality / gender / religion etc etc.
In today's episode, I discuss why this is such a huge problem, and how by saying something is specifically our fault, we are shunning responsibility and actually doing a disservice to all those who are like us!

I've let myself DWELL on all sorts of things in the past, either [usually, in my case] believing I was totally to blame for something, or seething with resentment that I had been wronged.
The reality is that most events sat appropriately in neither of those camps. But that doesn't matter - in today's episode, I'm sharing how it DOESN'T MATTER who is to blame for an event!
What matters is taking responsibility for YOUR [re]actions... If you're anything like me, I can replay events for YEARS afterwards - and what good does that serve?
I go deeper down the spiral of feeling impotent / self-blaming / angry. The only person I'm punishing? Myself. Anyone else involved will likely have long forgotten what happened.
I've been reading an excellent book on this - Kain Ramsay's 'Responsibility Rebellion' - and it's made me think A LOT about how we all shun responsibility sometimes...
Today's podcast will enlighten you as to why it SUCKS to always be stuck in a position of refusing to take responsibility, and I show you how just by changing up our language, we can go from self blame to responsibility!

Do you ever doubt your gut feeling? I do All. The. Time. It's like I believe that logic / science / brainpower are always right, and my heart is always wrong.
We trust the more traditional senses, despite knowing we don't all see exactly the same colour for "red", or not all feeling the same level of pain from a papercut (ouch!).
Our ancestors used intuition to save themselves from danger - indeed, most animals still do.

How often have you been sent a 'news' story by someone on Facebook, only to KNOW it's factually inaccurate?
Trump was right all along: fake news DOES exist. It's just not normally the news stories HE thinks are fake...

"With hindsight, that was a bad decision." We've all said that, yeah?
And we've probably been asked by parents, "If X jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?" Annoying, right?
But perhaps we are NOT to blame for our desire to copy others, to ignore the logic and plough on regardless.
PRESTIGE BIAS is exactly this: the people we look up to dictate our actions...
It explains why Republicans are less likely to wear a mask - because up until a few days ago, President Trump refused to do so...
Remember when Oprah bought a 10% stake in WW? We all decided THAT was obviously the best way to lose weight - because Oprah said so...
If I see someone I respect doing something, I am more likely to do it too.
I discuss the perils of prestige bias in today's episode, and explain how we can overcome always trusting others' opinions and decisions as being right for us, too.
How do we decide who is the RIGHT person to dictate our own prestige bias?!
How do we stop prestige bias making us devalue ourselves and lose self-esteem?

The truth is that the Wilde About Wellbeing podcast isn't Joe Rogan's, y'know, Spotify aren't going to be offering me a [rumoured] $100m+ rights deal. And that's what I thought I wanted at the beginning of all of this!
What my podcast is, though, has become something just as important to me. I love hearing when you find something that resonates - or when you have ideas of what I should be talking about.
I feel closer to my audience than Joe Rogan can feel right now. So, yes, 100 episodes in, I don't care how many are listening to me - because it only takes one person to hear it and benefit. That's all it takes to make me realise this is worthwhile and important.

History is written by the [so-called] victors. It always has been.
That's why I live in a country FILLED with statues of those who oppressed Black people for centuries.
I have no argument in favour of statues dedicated to those who were slavers, BUT are White people whitewashing more history?
You see, the footage of the bringing down of statues worldwide has enthralled me. In many cases (including the one a few miles down the road from me, in Bristol UK), White people are front and centre in pulling them down.
I see that as a problem - those of us who are White should NOT be engaging in this White saviourism. If we are the ones downing statues, are we not just whitewashing history?
We need to find ways to give the contextualisation of these people, without forgetting them entirely by erasing them.
I also discuss how things like The Rhodes Trust is now so unconnected with Cecil Rhodes that I simply CANNOT understand why the name / his statue is being defended so vigorously.
How can we educate kids about the HORRENDOUS treatment of Black and other People of Colour, then and now? Kids need lessons taught by Black educators - this isn’t just about fusty, dusty history lessons, it’s about culture change NOW.

I wasn’t going to post this podcast today, but I realised something important: White people who are saying I DON’T HAVE TIME to educate myself on race issues, like it’s an excuse for saying the wrong thing / continuing to promote their products…
We need to make the time, and - frankly - if you’re White and not ALREADY making time to educate yourself on the history of Black oppression, you’re not trying hard enough.
This podcast feels more vital than ever in helping people FIND TIME. I get that many of us are working from home, and the pressure is immense to work 24/7, since we’re now CONSTANTLY in our workplace.
If we don’t have spare time to educate ourselves, we will never learn. And it’s time White people started learning harder about Black history, racism, and why it’s TIME FOR CHANGE.
And part of finding time for the important stuff [the anti-racist movement should be top of your agenda right now, if you’re White] is being able to distinguish weekend from weekdays.
In this podcast, I talk about the ways to distinguish it - everything from only watching certain TV on the weekends, to allowing things other than work to dictate your weekend’s schedule.
Once you’ve worked out how you’re going to separate your weekends from your weekdays, it’s time to also plan how to add some anti-racist / activist content into that.
When you find the weekend, you find time for the important things.
What will you be doing this weekend to educate yourself?
I will be…
🎬 Watching ‘Malcolm X’ (the Spike Lee bio-pic) and ‘When They See Us’ [If you’ve not seen 13th - recommended to me by @dradijaffe a long while ago - prioritise that!]
📖 Reading @laylafsaad ’s ‘Me and White Supremacy’
✍🏻 Signing ALL the important petitions - [you should prioritise @changedotorg petitions for George Floyd, Ahmaud Aubery, Breonna Taylor and Belly Mujinga (not forgetting UK deaths) - links to all these in my bio]
🗣 Having difficult conversations with those around me about race
❤️ Forgiving myself for saying and doing anything wrong - I am learning right now, and I will make mistakes.
Before George Floyd's death at the hands of Minnesota police, how ANTI-RACIST were you?
I wasn't racist, but I was a hypocrite. I would SAY I wasn't racist, and yet my IG feed and stories didn't really reflect that. I'd rarely comment on black issues, as I didn't feel it was my place.
The truth is: anti-racism is EVERYBODY'S place. Whether we are White, Black, Indigenous, Asian and so on, it is our place to speak out against racism.
It is our place to act against racism.
In today's podcast, I controversially discuss why some Black educators on social media may help the anti-racism cause by being more open to questions from those of other colours. Hint: it's about a thing called "Prestige Bias"...
I also touch on the hypocrisy of some of the things I'm seeing on my social media feeds, especially from brands and influencers...
And - perhaps also controversially - I talk about why I think it's about WAY more than being anti-police. The 'fuck the police' chants are conflating the fact that Black people are oppressed in MANY areas of life, not just law and order.
I close off on a question. There's been a lot on social media about not taking a Black issue and making it all about White people. I ask how we find the balance between recentering the issue around the fact that White people are RESPONSIBLE, without denigrating the suffering of BPOC communities.
It's a tough one.
Link to the podcast is in my bio - thanks for listening ❤️

Has your drinking increased during quarantine? Mine has... put it this way, if alcohol were a cure all [spoiler alert: it's not!], I'm never going to get any bug, virus, bacteria right now!
My relationship with alcohol has varied a lot over the years. I was entirely sober for eight years, in AA, but the reality was that I needed to tackle the underlying reasons for drinking. Otherwise, my so-called 'addiction' would transfer elsewhere (hellooooo, cookie jar at midnight!).
In today's Wilde About Wellbeing episode, I share my FIVE steps to reduce or end your drinking RIGHT NOW.
We talk about how I've found wine tastings have made me WAY more conscious and mindful in my drinking, so that I drink less and enjoy more (shoutout here to virtual versions from Great Western Wine / Enotria and Coe, as well as John Lewis' Experiences for gin cocktail making!).
I also let you in on the 'secret' non-alcoholic brands that'll make you think you're drinking The. Real. Thing. Honestly!!
The terms alcoholic / alcoholism get thrown around a lot, when they're often not valid. And even if they are valid, who the hell wants to be living under ANY label?!
I talk about the IGNTD programme from Dr Adi Jaffe that has helped me with all areas of my life, along with an awesome offer they have right now for free online group chats. This is great, if you feel you need a little more help getting things back in control.

Today, we're talking boundaries, commitments and expectations. These are more important than ever right now, while we isolate with loved ones - or, on the contrary, are isolated away from them.
My husband and I have been working hard on boundaries around our relationship, our work, our time, and our other activities. These are only some of the areas where boundaries make life easier!
It's so easy to confuse how we define "expectations" vs "boundaries" vs "commitments", and I share the way I define all three of these.
I also share my tips for how I work out where my boundaries need to be set - we all have to find the compromise between ideal situations and realism!
Accountability is important, too: if we have someone who can help us stick to our boundaries, we can go far!
Don't forget that while you want others to respect your boundaries, it's so important to respect theirs too!

Do you have enough focus on your goals? Too much - to the detriment of everything else in your life? (Guilty!)
Today's podcast episode is all about finding clarity, and working out whether you have enough of it, how to get more of it, or - and this might be a surprise... how to take your foot OFF the gas occasionally!
I think there are just FIVE questions to ask yourself, which will get your MORE clarity, less woolly thoughts, AND avoid stalling while you wait for validation from others.
Spoiler alert: take action, NEVER wait for validation from others - you are more than enough.

I'm as big as a house.
I'm so stupid, I'm as thick as two short planks.
I have thunder thighs.
NONE of these make sense. They're blatantly untrue (how can ANYONE be the size of a building?!), nonsensical (what even ARE thunder thighs?!), or simply untrue (I'm not stupid - there's plenty of evidence to the contrary!).
In today's short episode, we discuss the importance of how we speak to ourselves, and I talk about how the simple reminder we are good enough can help us in our language. I also outline why affirmations can be fighting a losing battle against our more negative words.
I was inspired to record this after hearing a fabulous interview with the amazing therapist, Marisa Peer, on Lewis Howes' podcast.

We're frequently hearing about how the government has put us in lockdown, in various countries around the world. While this may be PHYSICALLY true, it's not mentally true.
In your mind, you are the one in charge. No one else. Not the government, not your parents, not your spouse, not your depression, not your anxiety, not your fear, but YOU.
It's difficult in life in general to remember how much control we have over our own lives, but during the pandemic, that has become even harder.
Yes, we're following the rules of physical distancing, but that doesn't take away our power in so many other areas of life!
In today's shortie episode, I discuss 5 ways to remind yourself that quarantine is NOT forever, and that you are very much in charge of your reactions to it.

Good news (pun very much intended!), you do NOT need to be a media junkie!
I know that right now we are going through a pretty newsworthy event... BUT when those statistics and stories are doing more harm than good to your mood / mental wellbeing, it's best to step away.
You know there are going to be deaths reported, and are they not the same level of tragic, whether the number is 430 or 502 or whatever?
It's not easy to reject news, and I share some of the ways I'm giving it up, putting boundaries in place, and regaining my control over its consumption. My anxiety and depression have definitely lessened now that I am more constructive around my news viewing.
I also touch on how producing in other ways can distract us from our need to consume 24/7 news articles and TV.

And I hear your "but"... kids... spouses... pets... increasing work demands!
I share FIVE steps to find time to care for your mental health, whilst also caring for others. My strategy guarantees you'll find just a little downtime - ALL for YOU!
Although this is designed for quarantine, it's applicable any time - so give it a listen, and remember that we need to regularly put ourselves first. If we don't do that, we simply cannot care for the other people / animals / work that are calling for our time.

I'm always inclined to focus on my ANXIETY right now - COVID-19 spreading across the world is a frightening time for all of us. It can feel almost apocalyptic.
Especially if you're a 24/7 news consumer and researcher like I am!
But today's episode is about a different PERSPECTIVE. I'm NOT saying we shouldn't be realistic about this virus - it is not a hoax, it's not something that only affects older people, and it's not a time to be a rebel and mess with the rules the government has in place for us (stay the HELL at home!).
And yet, I want you to focus, just for this short episode on the ALTERNATIVE, the more positive perspective that coronavirus is offering, worldwide.
I look at the value of FAMILY TIME during quarantine...
How we're able to exercise on our own schedule, with amazing instructors from all of the world...
And other benefits, in my top five silver linings to the Corona crisis we're enduring right now.
I am always here for YOU, feel free to get in touch, whenever you like. The anxiety is heavy for all of us right now - we can share that burden together.

Today, there's one takeaway from the episode I want you to have
HOWEVER you react to the Coronavirus threat is LEGITIMATE.
Your reaction to what's going on in the world is your own. Make no apology for it.
In today's episode, I share my fears and discombobulation over the storm that we are weathering right now.
I also explain how we might be able to better address panic buying. Because telling someone to just stop is NEVER. Going. To. Work.
This isn't a happy-clappy kinda episode, but I want you to know that if you are in fear right now, that's perfectly okay. My anxiety is spiking BIG time: something I thought I'd got under control, but these are very different times.
I've got your back. I am here for you.

In today's podcast, I want to introduce you to an AMAZING entrepreneur, who is changing how it FEELS to be a woman!
Charlotte Chiang is the founder of Missfits, a bra 'matchmaking service'... Seriously, ladies, just like the right life partner, the right bra can change your world!
Of course we talk lingerie, the current situation of having most CEOs of companies in that world being male, and so on. But we also touch on feminism (and why it's NOT anti-feminist to wear a bra)... the lies about bra burning... and why we should all be looking to Poland!
Today's episode is very much one "for the ladies", but guys can learn so much here too. Breasts have become such a taboo topic, and they really shouldn't be - we ALL (whatever gender you take) need to be more open about them.
By being open, we can start to (finally!) acknowledge they come in different shapes and sizes, and they don't all match what we see on porn movies. Hell no!

In today's podcast, I want you to know ONE important thing:
It is PERFECTLY okay to be worried about the coronavirus / COVID-19. You are not overreacting. You are not being 'over the top'.
You may be concerned, and not even be experiencing anxiety. To be honest, this is a serious situation and so it would be kind of strange, if we weren't concerned about the potential outcomes.
BUT... there are many ways to manage these feelings, in order to not get caught up permanently in a downward spiral, which only leads to panic and illogical thinking.
In today's podcast, I'm sharing the preparations I've already taken (I'm a 'prep and forget' kinda gal!).... how I'm currently protecting myself... and 5 top tips on how to deal with coronavirus / COVID-19 related anxiety / worry, and not let it get out of control.
The risks ARE low. Logically, I’m not much more at risk of COVID-19 than I was before I knew it existed. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't take it seriously.
Today's podcast is a NO JUDGMENT zone (I don't care if you've stockpiled loo rolls, disinfectant, pasta, or gin...), it's a place to get some great ideas on how to manage the fear that this virus is generating.

What can you give to others? Time, money, energy, knowledge?
We can all offer something different, and we can offer it to just about anyone anywhere in the world.
I spent years thinking that the only way I was able to give anything to anyone was by signing a cheque. And, of course, monetary contribution to charity matters. It's how charities are able to do their work.
But it never felt enough.
Now that I've discovered other ways I can contribute to others - through my knowledge, time, and sometimes just my love - I wanted to share some top tips with you on how I come to find the ways I can best contribute to others.
In today's episode, as well as those tips, I also share my experiences of how contributing to others makes ME happy - it feels almost SELFISH to help others ha!

I am so excited to be able to share Shannon's wisdom with you- I had an absolute blast recording this episode. Originally, we were going to be speaking about manifestation, and we did that, but we had this amazing wide-reaching conversation.
We talked about Shannon's own journey, and how he has been working through the feelings of self doubt. Another important topic was about what is happening in the world at the moment, and how we need to come together as a community for the greater good of the world - and our future.

"You are NOT the victim". Those words have brought an incredible amount of CLARITY this week: not because I was being a victim (that was just someone's opinion), but because it made me realise I'm nothing LIKE a victim anymore.
Remember: sharing our pain does not make us a victim; telling someone how we feel does not make us a victim; having a different recollection / opinion of something does not make us a victim; an in the moment reaction does not make us a victim; being labelled by someone else as such does not make us a victim.
The only thing that makes us victims? Being defined by our victim status, letting it define us, refusing to move forward from toxic energy. It's all about mindset.
I've also been reading Shaman Durek's 'Spirit Hacking' at the moment, particularly the chapter on the victim mindset - so I feel like the universe is telling me this is an episode I need to produce!

When Jim Rohn said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with, I think he was wrong.
We are the average of the five people who we ALLOW into our heads - if you're surrounded by toxic people that are not easy to avoid, it's not an excuse. We can decide on our boundaries to keep those people out.
I discuss the different types of people I need in my life, and how important it feels to be in a community, and connected to others. I had an amazing time in LA recently, at Dr Adi and Sophie Jaffe's IGNTD Glow event. I heard so many amazing stories - from both onstage experts, and fellow audience members.
In today's episode, I share the biggest takeaway: how we can use our pain in our purpose, helping others. This was a running theme throughout the whole event for me: the way that trauma can motivate us to do more with our lives.

If you've been following for a while, you probably know I've always had issues with weight loss - PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and imbalanced cortisol are the main factors for me.
I decided to get some tests by a UK company that offer blood tests (I paid for these, this is not a promotion!), just to help me discover exactly what all my levels were doing.
It was really interesting to see the results, and to try and play detective with my own health.
I also discuss that I was somewhat disappointed not to find something 'fixable' by a pill - cortisol reduction relies on me... and I go into why I find this responsibility heavier than a medical prescription!

So, I'm a research NERD.
I do the research into the latest studies released about mental health, so that you don't have to.
Today, I'm talking CHOCOLATE - yes, really! I give you permission to eat more... And also RED WINE - less about encouraging you to drink it, but still...
There's reassurance for if you feel like you're having EMOTIONAL side-effects from anti-depressant medication...
Also, if you're a night owl, there's some interesting research that says you could become a LARK in just three weeks...
I also offer a RANT on the back of a Cambridge/Chicago/Minnesota study into problematic smartphone usage about why we need BETTER addiction resources!!

I refused to believe that I needed a calendar or any kind of schedule - I was convinced that blank space meant freedom to do whatever items on my 'to do' list were relevant.
I was wrong.

Welcome to our first interview episode!
Today, on the podcast, we are joined by Dr Adi Jaffe, a podcast host ('IGNTD'), author ('The Abstinence Myth'), an addiction and recovery expert... and my coach ('The IGNTD Heroes Recovery Program).
We discuss how Dr Jaffe's own drug use led him to down an incredibly dark path of being arrested, having a difficult relationship with his family, and finding community in some places that - to the average outsider - would be seen as pretty unsavoury!
Discussing community, we talk about both those darker communities (from when he was dealing drugs), and the more recent community that he has founded - the IGNTD community. We talk about what led him to his purpose of supporting those struggling with addiction, and why community is so important in terms of the journey to wellbeing.
Dr Jaffe then gets us super excited about the fact that he and his wife, Sophie, are hosting IGNTD GLOW, which is a Los Angeles based wellbeing event in October. We get to hear just a few of the exciting guests that will be joining Team IGNTD. Hit up the link below for tickets!

“I’m not good enough.”
“I don’t deserve this.”
“I am unlovable.”
Recognize any of those messages?
As someone who repeated those things to myself regularly, I’ve been there. I know the importance of finding where that self talk stems from in order to nip it in the bud.
In this podcast, we look at how we can untangle the spaghetti junction of negative self-talk that exists in our heads. I’ll share the process I use to trace these thoughts right back to the core beliefs we hold about ourselves, and give my top tips on how to then begin to change the message you’re telling yourself.
I've been working hard on my negative self-talk, and share my approach and experiences with you here. I've even produced a free workbook download to accompany it!
It is not easy to get out of the habit of negative self-talk, but learning some tools and techniques can really help.
0-2: Introductions
2-4 : Defining self-talk, both positive and negative. How I use both types.
4-6: How our self-talk forms from negative / false core beliefs.
6-14:Why negative self-talk is dangerous!
14-23: The different types of negative thinking / self-talk that are most common in my life.
23-39: The negative thoughts that come into my head every single morning, and where I think they stem from.
39-43: Quote of the episode.
43-44: Some more info on the free workbook that's available to download.
44-55: My new approach to self-talk, and the process I'm using to overcome it. Looking at how to convert negative self-talk into positive self-talk.

In today's podcast, we discuss how you need to INVEST IN YOURSELF TO IMPROVE YOURSELF.
I want you to realise that investment isn't only about money - it's also about time, self-love, energy that you give to yourself!
Meanwhile, I share with you the questions I ask myself before any investment, and why I need to be more objective with myself sometimes!
We also address the protests you're BOUND to have, when thinking about this area of your life - I know, I've been there!!
Just remember: whatever the investment, you are worth it.
0-3: Introduction
3-7: Defining 'buying' versus 'investing', where money is concerned.
7-11: How rituals can be enhanced by certain investments - the (albeit bizarre!) baked beans example.
11-12: What shapes our money mindset, and how we are effected in later life by early experiences and attitudes towards saving / spending.
12-13: Is money abundance about energy?
13-14: Investment can mean things other than money!!
14-17: Why we need to learn objectivity, if we are going to have a healthy mindset around money.
17-21: Defining 'abundance' and 'scarcity' in terms of our money mindset, and how we might rethink our language.
21-30: The current obsession: SAVING! But what are the true benefits of that money you save?
31-33: The Protests to Why You're Not Investing!! And how we can tackle every one of them! How we can analyse ourselves into the realisation that sometimes investment is a necessity!
33-45: The questions I ask myself before any investment.
45-50: Two examples from my own life, where thinking long-term has worked for me in terms of investment!
50-51: Conclusions.

Are you baking a cake?
If not, then you do not need a constant, obsessive focus on NUMBERS!
In today's podcast, I discuss ways in which we might turn away from always looking at and comparing numbers, and finding methods based on quality rather than quantity.
0-3: Introduction
3-12: Some areas where numbers seem to have become prevalent in modern life.
12-20: How personal achievement is more important than comparing our exercise / weight-lifting numbers to other people's.
20-25: Sobriety and why "days clean" is not the best measurement protocol.
25-30: Social media follower numbers - do they really matter?
30-34: Inbox zero, DM numbers, and the pressure we put on ourselves about the quantity of engagement we have with others.
34-37: The focus on earnings vs outgoings, and whether they really mean more than happy users of a service
37-43: What energy are we creating when we share OUR numbers? And what energy are we absorbing when we measure ourselves against those of others?
43-46: How we are driven by social media, conventional media, clickbait, workout programs, family, friends, to become obsessed with numbers.
47-49: Quote of the episode.
49-56: Ways we can change, and view things as QUALITATIVE, rather than quantitative. Numbers don't matter as much as emotions.
56-58: The ONLY place where numbers matter!
58-59: Conclusions.

My word of the year for 2019 is "kaizen", the Sino-Japanese word that means "improvement".
The process of continuous improvement has made incredible changes in my life, allowing me to start focussing on "how can I make this action / behaviour / decision better next time?".
I share my experience with the concept, and also give you some ideas of how to apply it in your own life
0-7: Defining 'kaizen'. How it originated at Toyota, and the process that they undertook at the car factories.
7-16: How we can apply the standardisation concept of kaizen in real life.
16-23: Kaizen doesn't entail any notion of completion.
23-31: My suitcase packing analogy, and how it's okay to try different methods to try and find improvements in our lives. Dr Adi Jaffe's 1% Principle - taking baby steps to progress in recovery / abstinence programmes.
31-36: The ease of measurability in kaizen, and ways in which you can apply the ability to measure time / distance etc to make kaizen more applicable in everyday life.
36-40: Looking at innovation, and how one of my dogs has totally benefitted from kaizen in doggy dental care!
40-44: Quote of the episode.
44-55: My personal experiences with using kaizen, how I've learnt to prioritise, and bought into the 80/20 Pareto Effect alongside kaizen. The one question I now regularly ask myself.
55-57: Conclusions.
Quote of the Episode:

What do CEOs have in common with those of us on our wellness journey? Quite a lot it would seem!
I discuss how we go about using the tips and tricks of the world's greatest leaders to structure our own lives and journeys towards becoming calmer, more optimistic human beings.
There are plenty of my personal experiences in here, too, which I hope will inspire you to start taking baby steps on your own journey!
0-3: Welcome, and information about the free guide I'm offering to listeners!
3-10: Prioritising what to do, and how not to take on too much at once.
10-16: Seeking expert help - we are not islands, and it's okay to reach out to therapists, and other helpers.
16-20: Delegate domestic jobs to partners, friends, family, cleaners, whoever you need! Don't try to do everything yourself.
20-25: Communicating with others how we feel is vital: a company doesn't work without communication, and nor do our domestic relationships.
25-28: If we don't commit to maintaining our vision of where we want to go, we will struggle. It takes time to head in the right direction, and that's why it's so vital to retain commitment for however long it takes.
28-31: Quote of the episode.
31-37: Risk management means being prepared, but not being panicked by undesirable situations. How I plan in advance of events that I think may have unwanted elements, and how I accept things that are beyond my control.
37-42: Teamwork and collaboration are vital to business - the best CEOs make every member of the company relate to them because they give 'face time' to their employees. In life, we need to avoid isolation to stay healthy.
42-46: Changes sometimes require us to make last minute changes to our vision. The danger of being blinkered to what's going on around us is that we refuse to make decisions / change direction.
46-52: Office politics determine company ethics, and overall behaviour of the employees. In our domestic environment, I discuss how negative self-talk and certain relationships can be dangerous to our overall wellbeing.
52-56: Performance measurement - and its importance to wellbeing, goals and taking a realistic view of where we are at on our wellness journey.
56-58: Conclusions.

It has been found to help with weight loss, diabetes, and other ailments. Here's an audio guide to the science and research behind IF, along with my own experiences in trying out this diet.

Thank you for joining me on this episode about perfectionism, and those awful “I’m not good enough” thoughts. I’m sharing, amongst other things, some tips on how to deal with perfection paralysis, why perfection isn’t the same as striving for a better life, and how a spelling test affected my view of being good enough.
I want you to remember that we ALL suffer from these types of thoughts, and that we owe it to ourselves to attempt to work through them.
1-3: Introduction to today’s topic. Where I’m recording from this week, and why.
3-14: Where perfectionism stems from. How a spelling test changed my childhood!
14-20: Identifying the three main types of perfectionist thoughts that I relate to.
20-30: Managing and eliminating perfectionism: some of the tips and tricks I’ve learnt, and TRY (!) to put into practice.
30-31: Quote of the episode
31-35 : What about the times when we truly don’t behave in ways that are becoming of us? When our actions do not reflect the people we want to be?
35-40: The difference between perfectionist / ‘not good enough’ thoughts, and positive pushy thoughts, the thoughts that spur you forward to be better.
40-42: Take aways from this episode, and closing comments.
Quote of the Episode:
“Above all things, never think that you’re not good enough yourself. [One] should never think that. My belief is that in life people will take you at your own reckoning.”

In this episode, I give a short introduction to lil' ol' me! I know it's hard to engage with someone you don't know, and so I wanted to help you get to know me! My depression and dysthymia can be painful at times, and I talk a little about that, as well as what I see the future as holding for Wilde About Wellbeing.
There's a lot to tell about my past, but I also cover how I can help you to help yourself... kinda self-help by proxy, if you like! I am not perfect, and I want you to see that perfectionism is not a viable aim - we'll be covering that more in future episodes.
You also get to hear how squeeeeeee-level excited I am about my upcoming FREE course about morning routines, and what I've tried out on your behalf. I am your loyal and loving guinea pig!
