AMWA Diversity Dialogues is an interdisciplinary podcast that is designed to promote diversity of thought through unfiltered and honest conversations about all topics related to diversity and inclusion, that highlight the disparities and inequities in medicine and population health and what we can do about it.
In this episode of AMWA's Diversity Dialogues, we are joined by Promila Kumar from Sanjeevani, a Chicago-based organization dedicated to supporting South Asian American women facing domestic violence. Our guest discusses the unique challenges faced by South Asian women, the culturally sensitive services Sanjeevani provides, and the impact of their work on the community. Tune in to hear about the vital role of advocacy, education, and community support in addressing and overcoming domestic violence in the South Asian American population.
