On the Season 10 finale of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we welcome back Anthony Lombardo, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, USAW, USA-PL, TSAC-F, Pn. 1. Anthony is fresh off two new certifications, expanding his expertise further into oncology and pelvic floor physical therapy.
First, he talks about how patients can strengthen their pelvic floor and highlights the benefits of incorporating good breathing techniques. He then discusses what pushed him to specialize in cancer rehabilitation, teaching PTs how to safely work with individuals undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Because pushing a patient too hard can cause fatigue to carry over into subsequent sessions, finding the right clinical balance is vital. We close out our season finale by discussing why enjoying the learning process is so important and how continuing education ultimately benefits both clinicians and patients.
In conjunction with Survive Stroke Week, which happened earlier this May and Stroke Awareness Month, we are joined by Dr. Guilherme Dabus, MD, a board-certified interventional neuroradiologist, specializing in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases of the brain, head, neck, and spine. Dr. Dabus speaks on the importance of acting quickly if you or a loved one shows any signs of having a stroke. He also talks about what he thinks has been the biggest breakthrough over the last 10 years in stroke treatment and assesses the state of artificial intelligence with how it’s currently being used in the world of healthcare. We close the episode by asking Dr. Dabus if he thinks his home country of Brazil will be victorious in this year’s World Cup.
After being struck by a car and having a subsequent stroke, Carl Haydel’s family was told he may be non-responsive for the rest of his life. Carl had other plans. Though he entered the Claiborne at Baton Rouge, an assisted living facility, in a wheelchair and was referred to three different disciplines of therapy, Carl was determined to be able to get down on bended knee, raise a ring, and propose to his girlfriend. He voiced this mission to his occupational therapist, Amanda Cable, OTD, OTR/L, who was more than happy to help him. We are excited to report that not only did his girlfriend, Rachel, say “yes,” but a video clip of Carl and Amanda’s OT sessions went viral and was featured in a recent article by People Magazine. This week, we catch up with Carl and Amanda to talk all about their amazing story, when Carl and Rachel’s wedding is happening, and what it’s like to be social media-famous!
What happens after physical therapy school ends and real-world practice begins? In this episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we sit down with FOX’s Gianna Sabo, PT, DPT, to discuss the transition from student to clinician—from choosing a career path and navigating uncertainty to overcoming early challenges in the workforce. We explore the pressure many students feel to “have it all figured out,” why giving yourself grace matters, and how new graduates can approach their first job search with confidence. Gianna also gives a recap of APTA’s 2026 Combined Sections Meeting, delivers some insight on what inspires her must-see work on social media, and offers advice to all PT students who are approaching graduation.
To all speech-language pathologists, Happy National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! We’re kicking things off by welcoming back one of our favorite guests (and possibly a soon-to-be fill-in co-host), Elyse Gordon, MS, CCC-SLP. While Elyse has joined us on the podcast multiple times, we’ve never taken the time to break down her SLP origin story, and we have questions! Why SLP? Did she ever consider another discipline? Do all SLPs have big personalities? And why are telehealth and SLP such a perfect fit? If you’re looking for answers, that’s exactly why this week’s episode is a must-listen. Let’s officially kick off National Speech-Language-Hearing Month!
To close out Occupational Therapy Month, we welcome back Noah Pennypacker, OTD, OTR/L, ATC, to FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast. Originally on a path to be an athletic trainer, we discover what made Noah change course and pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. While he lays out his OT origin story, we also find out that Noah is a thrill seeker, can come up with countless ways to include a deck of Uno cards into a treatment session, and is such a go-getter, that after his flight was cancelled—due to a polar vortex—he drove cross country to attend his interview for OT school. Equal parts heart and humor, we end OT Month with a clinician that any FOX patient would be lucky to call their OT!
On this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we review Scott B. Fulton’s 2026 book, Function: Turn Your Blind Spots into Strength, with FOX’s Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, Jason Hazel, PT, DPT. Because Function focuses on optimal aging, this book aligns perfectly with what we do at FOX. Jason explains how our FOX Wellness program helps our clients turn back the clock and live our tagline (and the name of this podcast), of not just living longer, but living better, longer. Function centers around the five domains of Strength & Power, Cardiovascular & Recovery, Mobility & Balance, Flexibility & Structure, and Neuromotor & Cognition. It’s not necessarily about showing great strength in just one of these areas, but being able to find your blind spots to be balanced and strong in all five. For those who need a motivational push to exercise regularly, that’s where FOX’s Fitness Specialists can be tagged in to help anyone age optimally.
On this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we sit down with relentless Parkinson’s advocate, Dr. George Ackerman, who founded the movement, Together for Sharon, in memory of his mother, Sharon Riff Ackerman. George reflects on his mother’s diagnosis, the isolation his family felt early on, and how losing his mother transformed his life and pushes him to fight for a cure for Parkinson’s every day. George shares what it was like to become a caregiver, the resources he wished existed, and the drive that keeps him writing books, advocating on Capitol Hill, perpetually networking, and working for change. It’s a moving reminder that community, compassion, and persistence matter—especially during Parkinson’s Awareness Month.
In this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we sit down with Amy Eisenberg, the co-founder of Papa’s Path (the Babbush Family Fund for Parkinson’s Education, Research and Innovation) to talk about the moment her family’s world changed when her father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Amy opens up about watching a renowned surgeon face retirement, identity loss, and ultimately hope through deep brain stimulation surgery. We explore the role of compassion in healing, the importance of community when families feel isolated, and how Papa’s Path was born to support others navigating similar journeys. From advocacy and resources to upcoming events and Parkinson’s Awareness Month, this conversation is a reminder that humanity and connection should never be overlooked in the world of healthcare. Also, stay until the end for a special surprise guest!
In honor of OT Month, FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast sits down with Amanda Cable, OTD, OTR/L, to clear up some of the biggest misconceptions about occupational therapy and discuss why it is still misunderstood by many. What does an occupational therapist actually do, and why do so many people still confuse it with physical therapy? In a full-circle moment, Amanda shares how her journey into the field actually began with a physical therapist.
Amanda breaks down the real-world impact of occupational therapy, answers the questions she hears most often, and reflects on the moments she has had to set the record straight. We also talk about what she is most excited about at this year’s AOTA Conference in Anaheim, California.
If you have ever wondered where OT fits into your health journey, or you are looking for a fresh perspective on function, independence, and living well, this episode is a great way to kick off OT Month.

He paints a vision of a system that fully integrates PTAs, COTAs, and fitness specialists to support patients across the lifespan. The discussion unpacks the idea of “flipping the funnel,” emphasizing early intervention over downstream treatment. John also speaks directly to students and clinicians on preparing for this shift, changing long‑held mindsets, and advocating for the value of PT amid ongoing Medicare cuts.

In our season finale of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we are lucky to be joined by DJ, motivational speaker, radio host, and licensed clinical therapist, Hesta Prynn, who talks about her upcoming iHeartRadio podcast, Music is Therapy, premiering on January 15. Hesta talks about what led her to become a counselor and who inspired her to combine it with her love of music. Hesta also gives details about her Music Connection Therapy course, which uses a client’s favorite music to increase their overall emotional wellness. Taking a cue from the title of her new podcast, we discuss the scientific reasons why “music” literally “is therapy.” A song has the power to build confidence, create new neural pathways, and help guide someone through a traumatic life experience. The episode ends with Hesta Prynn asking FOX clinicians to let her know what they are listening to in their cars while driving to and from house calls by leaving a message on her Instagram page.

We also refer back to a previous episode of Live Better Longer when Lauren helped Chip, a US veteran, get a ramp installed on his front porch, thanks to the organization Twilight Wish. We speak with many clinicians and healthcare professionals on FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, but we always love the opportunity to talk with a FOX patient. What’s it like to work with a FOX clinician? How was their experience with FOX? Today, we are lucky enough to chat with Catherine Duff, who has been working with FOX Virtual Care Specialist, Jenny Rothman, PT, DPT, via Telehealth. Though skeptical of doing physical therapy virtually, once it got underway, Catherine became a fan. She was also introduced to remote therapeutic monitoring through the platform, One Step, which digitally tracks a patient’s functional progress. Catherine enjoyed her treatment sessions so much, she reached out to Jenny and said that she would love to spread the word and encourage others to use Telehealth. After we got in contact with Catherine, per her promise, she was game for interviewing on our podcast, which you can listen to right now!

On the Season 7 finale of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we revisit one of our favorite stories centered around a favorite FOX cultural pillar—the exchange of abundance. A few years back, our host Jim Shearer’s New York City neighbor, Melody Morrow, received a monthly receipt from her healthcare provider and noticed that someone drew musical notes above her name. Melody thought that was a very nice detail and called her provider to find out who was responsible for this small act of kindness. It turned out to be the accounting clerk, Emily Margolis. Long story short, the envelopes got more and more artistic, Melody and Emily struck up a friendship, and they were even featured on CBS’ “On The Road” with Steve Hartman, as well as having the artwork showcased at a local New York City coffee shop. Jim catches up with Melody to talk about the media attention and positive feedback from the story, and the importance of taking time to do something nice for someone else.
Across the United States, FOX Rehabilitation works with older adult patients—65 years and older. In addition, we have many younger clinicians on our team who are still in their 20s and 30s. With this generational bouillabaisse in mind, we thought contacting popular music writer, author, and historian Joel Freimark would be a good idea. Here’s the premise of this week’s episode: Any older adult turning 65 this year would have been born in 1959, and it’s no secret that most teenagers come of age musically and discover their favorite artists, songs, and albums around the age of 16. With that formula in mind, anyone born in 1959 would have been 16 years old in 1975. (Are you with us so far?) Today, Joel’s job is to give clinicians some extra conversation fodder with their patients, by diving headfirst into 1975, revealing its best music stories, albums, and songs. So, the next time any PT, OT, or SLP sees a certain Peter Frampton album in a patient’s vinyl collection, they’ll know exactly why it’s there!

It’s back to school week for us on FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, as we check in with Thomas Jefferson University sophomore, Laniyah Emile, who is FOX Rehabilitation’s first STEP-UP scholarship recipient. Every summer in Philadelphia, Thomas Jefferson University hosts the STEP-UP Program, which is a comprehensive summer enrichment program for students who come from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in medicine and are economically disadvantaged. Furthermore, applicants are made up of students who intend to apply to graduate school to pursue physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, or athletic training. The program helps students become competitive applicants to graduate school and provides a clearer understanding of the expectations and roles of both graduate students and professionals in rehabilitation science fields. Thomas Jefferson later expanded the program by designating STEP-UP for undergraduate students and creating the REACH program for rising juniors and seniors in high school, serving those who wish to explore careers in exercise science, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, and speech-language pathology.

On this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast we are joined by FOX’s Jonathan Keller, PT, who takes us through his multi-year struggle with costochondritis. After playing tennis, Jonathan felt constant pain in his rib cage and major discomfort while breathing. After attempting to treat himself—after all he is a physical therapist—he exhausted a litany of options to ease his pain: X-ray, CT scans, speaking to past professors, medications, salves, and getting an ultrasound. Finally, Johnathan discovered The Backpod, an invention by Steve August, which he claims has been the only treatment that worked for him in his three years with costochondritis. With this experience, Jonthan then explains how he is now better equipped to help a patient who has a similar diagnosis, and to always dig deeper until an answer is found.
On this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we keep the National Speech-Language-Hearing Month celebration going by letting our speech-language pathologists take over the show. The three talk about how they educate patients, caregivers, and the public at large about speech-language pathology. They then dig into the many myths of what it actually means to be an SLP, and how some people are surprised that it goes far beyond just verbal rehabilitation. Megan, Steph, and Shannon close out the episode by revealing their favorite patient wins, what they might do if they weren’t an SLP, and partaking in a round of our now famous—or infamous—Acronym Challenge.

Alan takes us through the process of how a senior living community can team up with Serviam and tap into their extensive system of resources, technology, and contacts. As the old way of doing things reveals its shortcomings, Alan lays out why the future of healthcare should focus its attention on Value-Based Care, which is transforming how we care for older adults.

We chat with the Founder and Artistic Director of The Pacemakers—the self-proclaimed “groovy senior citizens dance team”—that has been seen spreading joy at athletic events, workshops, street fairs, and most recently at Dr. Tim Fox’s Carole B. FOX Founder, Dr. Tim Fox, often says that he wants to be seen riding his dirt bike when he’s 100 years old. The point of his message is clear: age should not dictate your level of activity or prevent you from doing what you love. We think Dr. Fox would enjoy hanging out with this week’s Live Better Longer podcast guest, 81-year-old Howard “Abe” Abel, who continues to stay active by splitting and stacking wood. Reading that on paper may raise some eyebrows, but after seeing the results—and realizing that the quality of his work probably can’t be matched by someone three times his junior—what someone might think is impossible is just another afternoon of work for Abe, who chops away at ageism one log at a time. Find out what keeps this 81-year-old Paul Bunyan going and how long he plans on continuing to wield his chainsaw.

Lauren takes us through the entire process, from nomination to taking measurements, to getting estimates, and to finally witnessing the reaction of Chip and his family when they found out that he would indeed be receiving his wish, which culminated in a dedication event where Chip was able to use his brand-new ramp for the very first time.

On today’s episode, Tim tells the story of how he went from a one-man band making Geriatric House Calls™ to recruiting his first colleagues and spending countless hours molding together a healthcare practice that was centered around believing in the strength of people, with the goal of helping older adults achieve optimal function. In our Silver Anniversary year, FOX Rehabilitation is still walking the walk, yet on a much larger scale—a team of over 3,000 clinicians treat patients in 28 different states.
To celebrate the silver anniversary of FOX Rehabilitation, we are joined by FOX Founder, Dr. Tim Fox, PT, DPT, GCS-Emeritus, CCI. In the first half of a two-part conversation, Tim talks about his early-life experiences, immigrating to America, and what eventually led him into the world of healthcare, physical therapy, and eventually founding FOX Rehabilitation. After losing both of his parents, he introduces us to the various people who mentored him and gave him a hand up, teaching him valuable lessons that he would later integrate into professional life. Tim then explains the frustration he felt after graduating from physical therapy school, and not being able to treat patients the way he was trained. This inspired him to find a better way for his patients to reach their optimal function. While pouring over research at the local public library, Tim had his light bulb moment, and his vision for a new way of doing things was born.

He also talks about the importance of looking out for signs of a possible stroke, which includes arm weakness, facial drooping, and difficulty with speech. He advises that if you or anyone you know experiences any of these symptoms to seek medical help immediately.
As we ring in Better Hearing and Speech Month, we welcome back to the Live Better Longer podcast, FOX speech-language pathologist, Stephanie Demello, whose inspiration for this episode came from a quote by Dementia Specialist, Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, who said, “Dementia does not rob someone of their dignity, it’s our reaction to them that does.” Steph then gives a list of easy-to-remember tips on how to effectively communicate with patients who have dementia. The foundation of her list centers around being positive, patient, and kind to both your patients and their family members. Steph also gives an explanation of the 90-second rule and defines Reminiscence Therapy, which helps a patient with dementia tap into their past memories. Don’t miss this informative and insightful episode!
This week on FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, FOX occupational therapist, Katie Linz, OT, joins us to talk about Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in older adults. She breaks down the symptoms, the science behind “procrastination” and “hyperfocus,” the importance of creating routines, and why someone living with ADHD should consider occupational therapy. Katie defines “body doubling,” “habit stacking,” and the “Pomodoro Technique,” and explains how these techniques can help a patient with ADHD accomplish various tasks, ones they initially thought were too overwhelming to complete. When not treating older adult patients, Katie is an avid runner and closes out this episode by sharing some selections from her marathon running playlist.
In celebration of Occupational Therapy Month, on this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast we welcome back occupational therapist and in-house health coach, Katie Cooper, MS, OTR/L, who discusses the benefits of mindfulness, both for clinicians and their patients. Practicing being present and truly knowing yourself is not only important for your mental well-being, but your physical health as well. Katie offers up tips on the best ways to block out anxiety during a busy work week. She also talks about her role in FOX’s Live Well program, which helps colleagues decrease stress and learn how to balance both work and life. Katie closes out the episode by revealing what she does for entertainment and fun to decompress at the end of a work week.
This week on FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we are joined by author Shelly Calcagno, who talks about her new book, The Longest Goodbye: A Family’s Hope-Filled Journey Through Alzheimer’s. Shelly recalls the time when her mother forgot the word for dandelions and instead called them “yellow flowers.” That was the first sign of her mother’s cognitive decline and the beginning of a 10-year journey with Alzheimer’s, which Shelly writes candidly about in her book. Though she was slowly losing one of the most important people in her life, Shelly talks about cherishing moments of joy, which are simultaneously intertwined with grief. She also explains the importance of finding hope in difficult times. Shelly’s book sheds light on Alzheimer’s, how to support a loved one going through it, and what resources family members can use to help them during this difficult time.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, we turn the hosting duties of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast over to FOX physical therapist, Audra Vellucci, PT, MPT, who leads a candid discussion with FOX’s VP of Integration, Jen Revolinsky, MS, OTR/L, and FOX’s VP of Integration Quality, Jen Ruoff, OTD, OTR/L, BCG, CDP. The primary goal of International Women’s Day is to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements and to take action to strive for gender equality. “The Jens” as they’re lovingly referred to at FOX Rehabilitation, tell their stories about starting out as clinicians with FOX and working their way up to a position of leadership. They discuss their pain points along their journey, who inspired them, and what it takes to be an effective leader. Among other things, Jen and Jen talk about the difficulties of starting a new region during a pandemic, how they bonded through shared experiences, and the best ways to balance work and family life.
As APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting kicks off in San Diego this week—which is the ultimate yearly gathering of physical therapists—we decided to continue talking PT shop with FOX physical therapist, Pooja Ghelani, PT, who tells us how and why she entered the profession. Pooja describes a moment as an intern when everything clicked for her. Since then, Pooja has felt a sense of excitement and accomplishment when helping older adult patients rediscover parts of their life they once thought were lost. Pooja explains why she likes to treat in a house call environment and the advantages of working with a patient in their own home. We close the episode by asking Pooja to imagine time-traveling to visit herself as a new physical therapist. What advice would she give, and would her younger self be receptive to it?
Every year the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) hosts their marquee event, the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), which is made up of 18 specialty sections and academies. This year, from February 23-25, in San Diego, California, attendees will be presented with hundreds of educational sessions, as well as the opportunity to experience the sheer electricity of the main exhibit hall. This week on FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we speak with APTA’s Senior Vice President of Member Experience, Jason Bellamy, who gives us a preview of this year’s event. For those attending the conference—and for those who will be following along online—Jason fills you in on everything you need to know to maximize your CSM 2023 experience!
Is there any better way to kick off Season 4 of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast than chatting it up with rock and roll legend, Donnie Iris?! On February 28, King Cool will celebrate his 80th birthday. We thought it fitting to invite Donnie onto our podcast since the title of it sums up his current life—he is living better longer—continuing to play packed shows with his band The Cruisers, owning every square inch of the stage by performing his signature knee slides and fist pumps while hitting all the right notes on classic hit singles like, “Ah! Leah!” and “Love Is Like a Rock.” After a little prodding, we get Donnie to reveal the secret to this longevity in the world of rock and roll—a lifestyle that isn’t kind to everyone. Donnie talks about the inspiration behind some of his most beloved songs and dishes on what he’ll do to celebrate his milestone birthday year, which includes playing shows with fellow rock legends Foreigner and REO Speedwagon.
On the season 3 finale of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, we are joined by ex-Air Force pararescueman, Iron Man triathlete, speaker, author, and legendary adventurer, Robert Hamilton Owens, who on December 4, 2022, will begin rowing 3,500 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to raise funds and awareness for veteran suicide prevention. On average, 18-20 U.S. veterans die from suicide daily. Robert is working in conjunction with the Courage Foundation, an organization that helps veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) transition back into society. Robert was compelled to undertake this journey after his friend, Mark Crampton, a former U.S. Navy SEAL took his own life earlier this year. After learning about Robert’s background, we are fully confident that he will be able to accomplish this latest physical challenge. It was only a few years ago that Robert completed a 50-hour Navy SEAL hell week simulation, as well as running seven marathons, in seven consecutive days, on seven different continents. Robert also discusses the importance of staying active and never letting anyone tell you that you’re too old to do anything you set your mind to.

As we approach Thanksgiving, our host Jim Shearer gives thanks that he is joined by his grandmother, who will soon celebrate her 91st birthday. One of FOX’s signature mottos—the one that inspired the very name of this podcast—is Be Stronger, Live Better Longer. Jim’s grandmother exemplifies this slogan. Throughout her 60s and beyond, she made a concerted effort to stay active, which included taking daily walks, cooking and even learning how to play golf. Despite having two major injuries in her 80s, Jim’s grandma was able to keep a positive attitude and move forward with her life—one filled with over 20 grandchildren, over 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. It’s a can’t-miss episode where Jim’s grandmother talks about how she stood up his grandfather on their first date, the secret behind making the perfect fried egg, and a simple piece of advice for young clinicians treating older adult patients: be not afraid, age is only a mindset!

On this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitations’ Live Better Longer podcast, we are joined by FOX occupational therapist, Briana McFee, OT, who talks about how occupational therapy got its start in mental health and how the two intersect. Briana takes us through a "then vs. now" scenario and looks back at when treating and talking about mental health became more of a priority than it had been in years past. She also discusses a recent survey that revealed why some OT students are more hesitant to work with patients who have mental health issues and how to overcome that barrier. Briana then openly talks about her role as an OT when treating a patient with mental health concerns, her goals for them, and how the importance of creativity should never be underestimated.

This week the Live Better Longer podcast welcomes back our official life coach, FOX Rehabilitation occupational therapist, Katie Cooper, MS, OTR/L. In addition to being an OT, Katie also leads our “Live Well With FOX” program which aims to help clinicians improve their work/life balance and bring more attention to our overall health and wellness.
Katie explains the importance of healthy eating and how to accomplish this as an on-the-go clinician. Katie answers questions about balancing meals and snacks (including what snacks you should avoid), how to manage a regimen, and what to do to prevent that late-afternoon energy dip. Taking a moment to plan what you’re eating each week can go a long way in helping you to remain focused and energized when treating multiple patients throughout the day.
On this week’s episode of FOX Rehabilitation’s Live Better Longer podcast, FOX occupational therapist, Lanie Hefferly, MS, OTR/L, is joined by author, Beth Husman. Lanie met Beth after treating both her mother and father. During these encounters, Lanie discovered that Beth was writing and illustrating a book, Home is a Feeling, which has since been published.
Beth created it specifically for patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia—those looking for a feeling of a “home.” Beth explains that her book provides the opportunity for meaningful, shared conversations with a loved one. Additionally, the simple format of Home Is a Feeling allows the Alzheimer’s, dementia, or older adult patient to continue a favorite pastime—flipping through pages and reading a book.

We're kicking off Physical Therapy Month with guest Alex Germano, PT, DPT, GCS, a FOX physical therapist who will talk about making the most of a patient’s time during a treatment session by asking the question, “is stretching appropriate for your patient?” Stretching is something many older adults like and want to participate in, but it does not lead to strength gains. Because flexibility doesn’t always lead to improved function, Alex explains how organized interventions and certain exercises can give multiple benefits. Stretching isn’t a bad thing, especially if patients enjoy doing it, but a clinician should be focused on making their sessions with older adult patients as beneficial and efficient as possible.
