This is a series of conversations specifically aimed at talking about values and ethics which make us better human beings and how we can develop and retain them in our daily lives.
Talking to other seekers in generally a high especially because many common themes are re-discovered. But what if we enter a territory explored not often enough - the vulnerable areas of 'not knowing', the 'being unsure', the 'losing it' when you just thought you had 'cracked the universal code'. It appealed to my friend and co-seeker Manoj Khatri, and we embarked on this conversation about matters within, unsure of what would come up. The discoveries were absolute gems - nuances of how we get it and lose it, we know and still don't, we are wise and foolish in the same breath almost - and the agitation/meditation/contemplation seems to weave a web of its own on our minds on this journey within. Be ready for many uncomfortable yet relatable truths. No one said seeking was going to be easy :) Do check out this fascinating inward look. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The topic is unusual, yes, but wait till you go through the take our young guest has on it, and you are sure to be surprised. Not always pleasantly. Why do I say this? Because we have an unusually clear and forthright girl here, who does not mince her words, has a clear point of view, is not afraid to state it as such, and actually is ready to bear the consequences of her thinking different. Honestly though, we digress from the topic a few times, but her answers like her demeanour are calm and sorted. So I am sure you will love the chat, as much as I did. Do have a look at this different kind of conversation. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The beauty of speaking to the young is that their clarity, their level-headedness, their 'can do' outlook starts to rub off on you. This particular episode with Chahat Hinduja, a brilliant #NID student, helps us look at the advantages of going beyond one's comfort zone. True to her age and attitude, she shows us an insider's view to her journey without romanticizing her struggle. One of the happier parts for me was her understanding of the subtler aspects of the questions, and her incisive reasoning of her point of view. She is broad-minded, and has almost a leadership quality to her. A wonderful future definitely awaits her. Do look at this practical yet contemplative chat. A no-nonsense straightforward kind of chat with a student about to begin his work life. Interested, curious, and clear about his intentions, he answers honestly about things with a practical point of view. Happiness, even in normal times, is difficult to describe - but thanks to his answers we are able to slice up the topic in many ways other than the traditional outlook of a topic like this. A short entertaining happy kind of chat, this. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Tender, innocent, honest, explorative, curious, uncertain but clear - this episode is all of this and more. And not by chance. The guest, Ireen Thomas, decides to go with the flow and responds to almost each and every word in my questions and we discover a beautiful mind who is willing to understand things and adopt new perspectives if they seem beneficial. I really loved the humanity she exhibited in all her answers - there are no stock answers even if some of the questions might be typical at times. What a wonderful guest! What an amazing conversation. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
There is a joy in meeting fertile minds especially when they are about to begin their working lives and or are in the last few years of their formal academic education. Sanjeet, our guest, brings much happiness to this conversation by displaying a healthy sense of confidence, wisdom, curiosity and willingness to learn in equal measure. His ability to understand nuances and build upon them in this chat, gave me a lot of pleasure while conversing with him. Enjoy this chat. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Our young guest is sorted and experienced in many varied ways in what is perhaps, the most important relation in the world: Friendship. He talks about being in a #boysschool, being hesitant with girls, then developing meaningful friendships with all kinds of people, the struggles which happen in every evolving relationship, besides also his understanding of transactional friendships, old and new friends. Quite a journey of a chat in a short forty-odd minutes. Check it out. For the video, please check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
It is important to grow into being who you are. But how does one know? There are so many flaws and doubts and fears and insecurities - and well, you get the drift. Our guest, Jaanvi Haria, revels in this self-exploration-of-a-chat from the beginning of the conversation, and finds things about her mind, her creative process and comes home to some wisdom. What a beautiful person to speak to, what a honest seeking this is, and all on a podcast, which tells us so much about our own humanity as much it tells us about her. Do listen in. There are many aspects which make any life rich. Rarely do we see the kaleidoscope for what it is, fascinated as we are by compartments. In this free-flowing chat, however, I and Sushma, a friend, talk about work, social service, seeking time for oneself, parenting, connecting with people, experiences and a whole lot more. It is a genuinely light, but deep conversation and reminded me of many emotions within me, felt during different stages of my life. A happy and meaningful chat, this. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A rare chance to speak with a person who has dedicated his life to the seeking even though he is not a monk. Getting off the beaten track, he has pursued his journey in meditation and seeking the truth for himself, for many years now. I choose to interact with him, and understand his reference points on 'what is meditation? Is it necessary? How does one deal with worldly success or the lack of it?' and many such questions useful to us in daily life. We had a quick but substantially clear take on quite a few valid topics. Do check this amazing take on meditation and its practical uses. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
'What is Love?' is perhaps the most difficult question to answer. Here I speak to Hemant Gupta who sportingly dives with me into the unknown, and explores the vastness of this tremendously important emotion. We dissect it with love, allowing duality, oneness, practicality, exposure to this word in professional life and many other ways. A Valentine Day conversation which goes much beyond the traditional understanding of Love, for sure. Like it or hate it, you won't be able to ignore the facets of love being covered here. Come, celebrate this chat. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In a world which is being enamoured and fascinated by Artificial Intelligence, we take this chance to delve deeper into what is intelligence. This journey into understanding creates its own path - starting from what is a metaphysical and a 'heavy' discussion, it meanders into unknown paths throwing light on many interesting 'read', 'heard', 'experienced' versions and still growing out of all this and shining on a new 'truth' as we are both, equally stumped by the revelation and what it means to us. Hemant Gupta continues to be one of my favourite chat-mates on the podcast for a reason. Have a look at one more reminder why :) For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
It is rare to come across someone who is so clear about her goals, and yet admits nonchalantly that she got it wrong some times. Without batting an eyelid, our guest, Khyati Bhatt, CEO of a one-of-its-kind company, @SimplyBodyTalk, talks to us about being an expert in a different career choice, even while taking us through her journey of ups and downs till she found her passion. She is also kind enough to reveal her personal fears and her adherence to ethics in her line of work. It is a quick, clear, precise world-view she brings to the chat. I had a lot of fun conversing with this expert on non verbal communication. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We talk about job responsibilities, being good at one's profession but not making it the most important part of our job. Our guest wisely covers a lot of ground by speaking about daily happenings, his ability to be balanced in all conditions, working diligently to understand his mind state - basically using the activities which are part of everyday to be in accordance with what one wishes to be. In his case, contentment is really a great example - and he narrates how he uses it to balance his need and greed. It is not always that we have more silence than words spoken by a guest. But this one couldn't have been more perfect. It is an ideal kind of conversation when the subject discusses emotions with a stable mind, yet expressing herself reluctantly. I am sure this will give a lot of strength to many who are shy, unsure, doubtful, fearful or simply hesitant to express themselves. I surely hope you show a lot of love and support to this genuinely vulnerable kind of chat. Have a look. For the video, check ww.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
What an unimaginable chat this is. The guest's varied experiences with failure and success, competition and self-love, study and determination, allow us to look at her journey with fascination. It is not everyday we have a topper who says, it is not important to be on top. Once we begin to delve beneath the surface of her experiences, we find out the gravity of her learning and that the view-point she has formed of the process and her goal, is hard-won. An amazing conversation, perfect for the new generation, as it covers many relevant topics, good for the parents to know how and what are the concerns for this generation, as well as teachers to understand the complexity which makes individuals, and hence, perhaps not bracket them into easy classifications of good and bad. Do have a look. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A detailed chat with Dr Rajvi Mehta, one of the nation's more experienced embryologists, on professional issues like the heavy workload and the uncertainty of outcomes which create a lot of pressure and stress. The expectations of clinical specialists, the couple involved, the monotony and the loneliness of the job, not to mention the importance of the job itself and the strict adherence required to timing demands the highest levels of skill - is some of the subject matter discussed in this conversation. This is an enlightening look into what goes on in this relatively new field from the eyes of an experienced observer and participant. Do check it out. Rarely do you come across a human being whose life experience isn't rich. But this particular guest continues to evolve, speak his mind and check his own beliefs against life's daily interactions and in the process, gets to enrich most of his moments fully. We talk learning, knowledge, the fallacy of thinking 'we know it all', growing from failure, changing course as we understand the path better, and so much more in this brief chat. Hasmukh Sapnawala is an excellent conversationalist and speaks his heart with almost no filters at all. What a joy this chat is! Do check it out. A student of visual communication speaks to us about her learning at college, competition, thoughts about career, about the new phenomenon of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on work, her readiness to tackle it among many other things a young person feels. Her confidence to admit her fear, her jealousy, her insecurities is phenomenal and might hold her well in the coming times. It is a beautiful look into the heart of an artist, who is still making up her mind how she wants to contribute to the making of a brave new world through her work. Do check out this wonderfully open conversation. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Of all the journeys, the one within is the most difficult. It is indeed heartening to meet guests who are seeking a 'deeper understanding' because the truths they talk about, are almost like headlines in advertising. There is so much more meaning which can be found in the ways they traverse within themselves (even if it is with me here - and yes, the camera and the sound also have a separate inanimate presence). I am glad to meet someone who has been searching within her traditional texts but allows herself to understand independently, even as she seeks help from others who know the language. What a beautiful testament to research that is. I enjoyed this episode due to its precision of querying - as well as the exactness of the answers. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
While many parents wonder how this new generation will manage things, our guests display a wisdom beyond their age, as this episode goes beyond the defined topic of Boredom. They talk about their favourite subject: Teaching and contextualize how they themselves deal with boredom, while also teaching the aspect of making peace with it to those younger than them. A good mix of exciting and sensible answers allows a peek into the many youthful views of a world changing faster than ever before. For the video, check www.youtube.cp/c/thevaluesworkshop
Life teaches us many lessons, some enjoyable and some challenging. This is one of the most authentic chats on the channel, where the guest preferred to stay anonymous, and went all out to describe her state of mind at varied stages of life. I resonated with many of her feelings, and yet both of us felt there was more to be learned, understood and even adapted in our lives, even when we seemed to be 'getting' the subject. The conversation was so heartfelt that I feel I have never been so open about my feelings as much as I have been in this. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
It is not every day, one gets a guest like the present one - he has walked for peace in India and across countries. His stories, experiences and world-view are both, simple and inspiring, and it is truly a privilege to hear him speak about his journey. His beliefs are backed by his actions and his connections over the years have changed him. He answers my questions with a clarity and a sense of joy. The internet has not been stable in this chat, because presently he is in a jungle-like place, far from the city. But if you bear with this little inconvenience, it is a much needed balm of a talk in today's conflict-ridden times. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In a world ruled by data, how much time do we really dedicate to understanding nuance? With so much information at our fingertips, we need to retain our sanity, and make attempts to go deeper to understand. However, we cannot just stop there, communication adds another layer to this chat, and Hemant Gupta, my guest continues to make relevant points to pursue. The time limits our chat to 'manageable' levels, but the topic itself is vast and requires much more digging. Do check out this extremely thought-provocative conversation. The podcast remains a mystery even as it seems to be a simple chat on serious topics. This first episode of the new series on youth is a case in point.Anxiety as a subject is vast, and although we use the word far more often than ever before, this episode proves every individual view is different. The BFFs I speak to here seem to agree and disagree on all the points I bring up equally. The understanding and wisdom though seems to shine through. Here are some of the answers: I would ask the person to sleep on it first, I would ask them how long have they been grappling with the issue, I wouldn't advise but push them to try and fall because it is okay to. In the lightness of being they exhibit, these young ones come up with serious and timeless wisdom.Do check it out.

It is heartening to see young people wear their passion on their sleeves. This guest, who has had quite a few conversations with me, talks about the disappointments, the elation, the love, the challenges and her solution to what has been happening in her professional life. It is a heartfelt chat where I ask pointed questions to the young professional about her own inner journey when dealing with the problems of growing up from a student's view to her present work-space. Her authentic reactions are a joy. Do check out this wonderful episode. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Hemant Gupta sprinkles this topic with interesting provocations, sharing from books and a lot of measured words. He is a mindful speaker and does not feel pressured by the need to be wise or intelligently answer the questions I pose. I am gaining a lot of insights on how one can systematically work on the inner journey using words, and how their evolution has come to be, and also mean specifically to me. It is a rich exploration in this part where we mine a lot of thoughts and try to understand and contextualise them for building up our own learning. Hopefully all who watch this will contribute to the collective learning. May all share the merits of our effort to understand. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
I have the good fortune to chance upon another deep conversation with Hemant Gupta, who has this unique ability to connect what he has read and contextualize it with his experiences and bring his own take to the discussion at hand, and all of this he does, while answering my question. I enjoyed this particular chat for its educative, informative and dare I use the term, 'elated' content, since we cover time, the impact of the present world order, its demands on us, joy and what it means compared to pleasure among many other areas and nuances of thought. Do have a look. It may trigger your own journey of thought on this subject of vital importance. May all beings share the merits of this attempt. Events over the world in the last few years have led all of humankind to ponder over the precarious nature of our existence mainly due to man-made provocations to each other. Violence seems to be growing in varied parts of the world, and it does need all of us to wonder when and how peace can be brought about. This is an open-ended discussion on trying to understand our individual views. Hemant Gupta, our guest is a thinker on most issues concerning humans, and we had a serious conversation trying to get some perspective for our individual selves, and perhaps contribute in our own little way to reaching the path of peace. The chat continues to dissect one's emotions and also discusses probable ideas of how to study oneself and one's surroundings (immediate and global). It is perhaps part of our nature to act and ensure our survival, which includes being peaceful to avert any loss to our own selves and loved ones, so we talk about things which should be taken up by those who can help end the atrocities on common people. We talk to an Operations Manager in this episode. He is in the realty industry, and speaks to us on his personal journey of working up to reach where he is today, his shifting cities to spend quality family time, his routines to ensure he remains both, challenged and wise, while picking up responsibility in the work place. He comes across as practical and disciplined, and continues to work on his inner journey as much as his understanding. A good contemporary chat, this. Do check it out. The beauty of contemplation is sometimes found in isolation, but at times we seek it with others. The joy of speaking aloud thoughts and feelings where words are used with deliberation to come closer to the overall meaning of what we propose as our wisdom, is found in this chat. Do not rush through...just be with your own understanding of what I and my guest, Hemant Gupta, are seeking to speak on. Be a co-creator of this space and feel free to comment in any manner you deem fit. Do give this meandering mindfulness of a chat, a mindful hearing :) For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The wonderful part of having to wait patiently to choose a guest and be pleasantly surprised on having a heart-warming conversation is only matched by the beauty of seeing the oneness of emotions. Pride nestles comfortably with vulnerability, dedication and doubt walk hand in hand, and the ability to temper emotion with reason is evident in the chats, irrespective of the different backgrounds we all come from. Our guest, who seems to be highly capable at multi-tasking, speaks evocatively about her profession, home-schooling, nuclear families, hard work, and brings about a sense of awe and reverence about many things. A good way to enrich your Sunday afternoon. Do check it out.
Youth is a wonderful time - and the world looks so much more beautiful when seen through the eyes of innocence. I am privileged to speak to a student of law, who gamely discusses morality, legality, friendship, ambition and much more with absolute honesty. It is heartening to see how much one is willing to invest in the making of a good worthy life. This conversation's openness touched me deeply. A superb chat. It is rare to have a good hard look at a profession, complete with its doubts, vulnerabilities and methods of success. This chat with a therapist who practices in the UK is a delightful and hugely informative chat. I try and ask all the questions one would want to know about a therapist, and this one has most answers as transparent as they come. An amazingly open-minded and honest conversation, this. I enjoyed it thoroughly. So will you. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Being in the flow with a stranger is easy if they are a guest @thevaluesworkshop. But with this particular guest who happens to be multi-talented in the study of science, generational trauma and many subtle mind spaces, I get to ask whatever comes up in my mind, with absolutely no connect to the past question. What comes up is a delight of a conversation, where both of us explore thought-spaces with depth and ease in equal measure. Well, it does seem to be a wonderful invitation to listeners to contemplate on many topics which include creation of certain spaces where one can be oneself and relate to others, science, understanding of the environment we are in, and thoughts on grief, God, wisdom, the joy of sharing lived experiences vis-a-vis knowledge through other sources, and much, much more. Check this out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
This is an educative kind of episode, while also throwing light on the various aspects of vulnerability in professional life. The Director of Photography guest we have, explains to us the various elements that go into making a frame in a film, describing his approach, his love of film-making, his insecurities as well as the advantages of working with someone like him, who is willing to adapt to other styles of working. A beautiful episode, this. I loved it. Check it out. It deceptively grows on you :)

The chance to speak to someone who seemed to me a good mix of intelligence and intuition was something I couldn't let go off. This conversation proves my hunch was bang on and she answers questions with a refreshing candor and ease. Her experiences seem to hold her in good stead, as she talks about travelling alone, mountains, fears, her approach to art and life, and many other random things. She displays a clear sense of direction, fearlessness and wisdom, surprising me often. We also talk about her journey as an artist and her move to Direction in films. An amazing urban kind of chat, but still infused with genuine love of timeless things. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The second part of the conversation talks in detail about the Iyengar technique and the perspective of both, Dr Rajvi Mehta and the organisation, itself. We start with talking about how the body and mind are interconnected, and how the teacher works on studying the students while they are working practically on the technique. She also shares a few motivating stories from her life thanks to her rich experiences with Iyengar Guruji. She has had decades of experience and her narration is filled with pride, love, and a sense of affinity not only for the technique and the organisation, but also with each aspect of it - people, patients, teaching, teachers...Dr Rajvi Mehta is such a wonderful example of leadership, humility, clarity, compassion and much more.I found this chat calming and inspiring. Do have a look and share it liberally. May all beings benefit from this effort. May all be happy.

In this first part of a fascinating two-part conversation, Dr Rajvi Mehta, one of Iyengar Yoga's most well-known practitioners and teachers, speaks to us about how she approaches yoga beyond the technique of asanas.
Her personal journey in yoga is truly a testament to how yoga helps bring clarity, confidence, wisdom besides the obvious physical and mental benefits. The manner in which she takes us through her growth in yoga helps us understand many facets of her and it becomes apparent that her story is one of the finest examples of how yoga enriches life.
I found the chat calming, enlightening and inspiring in equal measure - The stories, the Iyengar yoga way, the deeper truths of the body and mind, there is indeed a lot to learn from in this chat. Do listen in with attention. For the video check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A young guest means freshly brewed ideas concerning the world. That is exactly what I got here. A legal intern talks about what is good about the world, holding on to his own view of how to gain and use knowledge, and finally, trying to make sense of a world and make it palatable to his young heart. Passionate and proud, honest and humble, clear and concise, our guest answers questions unabashedly. What a beautiful episode. Don't miss it. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

The gratitude with which she speaks about her experiences is touching for its simplicity. Do listen in. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
When the guest is as sorted as mine has been in this episode, he shoots off answers as quickly as I can manage to think of questions. It is interesting to have a Mumbai-type conversation: Short, quick, to-the-point, yet making many questions light by being pragmatic instead of spouting philosophy - and it is not easy questions either - he talks about shifting businesses, how to manage client expectations, learning to adapt in these fast-changing times. A good peek into a good mind. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The journey of an actor is mainly limited to what the audience attaches to. A simple, straightforward chat, without any pretensions. A wonderful watch and small insights to ponder on. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

In one of the most amazing conversations ever featured on our channel, we find John Britton sharing his knowledge and wisdom with a sense of depth and lightness of being in the same breath. He fills his words with meaning and communicates a lot through expression and sometimes, silence. His way of summing up what I think is 'profound understanding' in simple language (not 'easy') forces me to take a pause many a time in this evocative chat. Do spend some quality time with yourself, watching this one. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

It is a rare kind of conversation, when someone opens up to real issues, being unsure, but at the same time manages to express with absolute clarity and confidence. It is this calm demeanour and ability to use words to convey genuine meaning, which marks this episode out from the many others I have had. The deliberation in conveying one's state of mind with so much sincerity touched me, and this has to be one of the most enriching chats I have had. Do check it out. Here we have the chance to look into what appears a strong rational mind with clear thoughts. As we delve into his thinking, our banker guest reveals why he thinks his work in banking is more an art form, why data can be easily manipulated, or present a bias, and how ethics play a role in choosing to be a better professional. What a mind! What a beautiful conversation! For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

It is rare to speak with someone who you meet every other day, and be taken aback. But in this episode, I was pleasantly surprised at the wise approach of a friend who discusses professional life. How much do you really know in your twenties? A terrific lot, if this guest were to be heard out. She has been ambitious, vulnerable, clear, lost, happy, sad and a lot more in her short work life so far. She has already had too much and is searching for meaning - and through all this, she has maintained her vivacious nature, allowing herself to accept her flaws, and admit them to those who matter to her. Do check out this amazing conversation. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
An amazing quick chat with an entrepreneur who thinks fast and speaks faster, but in the process covers a lot of ground on entrepreneurship, advertising, branding, values and more. It is truly an engaging chat where we discuss subjects which affect thinking and practicality as experienced in business. His views are fresh and clear, and yet, he honestly admits the role of life in the events that happen to us. A wonderful conversation, this. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
When I chose to set up today's talk, I half expected this creative friend to go all over. He does not disappoint. A crazy look into the kind of chats artistic friends have...half explaining, nodding, thinking, creating meanings by using words but not restricted by the space. Sounds weird? It is - but has a good humanistic ground to all that is spoken. Do have a look. For the video, check out www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
An amazing episode in which we look at a unique human being who lives a life of his liking, without bothering about how society perceives him. He has a technical background with a Masters degree, and yet chooses to be a jack of all trades, doing multiple things simultaneously, making only as much money as he needs, not more. A fascinating chat in Hindi, do check it out. For the video, check out www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
To be an artist is a joy but what lies beneath? We speak to someone who opens up about her fears, insecurities, defects and deep doubts while also talking about the wiser aspects of having these pains. She gets bored easily. And she loves to talk and learn new things. In this same chat, she says, a little unhappiness is good and we don't need to be happy all the time. When I talk to this young guest, I find something endearingly human about her perspective of various things. Be it knowledge, life, world-view, our individual effort and its impact on the world, she brings a certain sense of balance to all topics we converse on. Her examples may reveal her age, but the underlying principle is relevant to people all across ages. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
So often we walk down memory lane thinking of gregarious and happy friends and then reconnect one day to find they have changed completely. Our guest is one such pal, who seems to have 'matured' in a wise sort of way, thinking, acting and inspiring me - and hopefully you, with a manner of living which celebrates basics. There is something surprising and not-so-surprising here: People who give it their all - do so in all circumstances. There are no half-baked versions of them, as it is here. I enjoyed this interview - I think you will too. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Hemant Gupta talks to us about life, thinking, challenges, observation, the benefits of being aware, mindfulness and its lack. In a week when the guest Chitra Pandhi agreed to do the podcast at a late hour to keep her promise, I too decided to go ahead with an idea which has been growing for a while...
'The Other Side of...'

May the Light continue shining within for all! May peace and harmony prevail! For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Her mother wanted her to be an engineer. So she became one. Life demanded she look after her family so she quit her job. Educating herself in her mid-age, she found the HR job not to her expectations so she changed careers again. Doubts, fears, challenges are normal in every life, but once you accept them, a completely new view of life emerges within. Our guest talks about her learning. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Possibly, compassion arises when we ourselves understand the problem. Or maybe, that we are the problem. Or maybe, realizing that acceptance is the solution no matter what the problem is. Sounds intriguing - this chat slowly moves into areas of the mind seldom shown to the world - and in these dark spaces, the guest shows us where her light of wisdom shines. What a beautiful, authentic conversation it is. May it give strength to all those seeking to understand themselves. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We talk about bullying, fat-shaming, religious bias, work pressures, the importance of parental support and its impact on our minds, shifting jobs and countries, choosing between creative and non-creative career options and a whole lot more. Advertising and marketing have given me some of the most amazing friends. Their levels of self-awareness and understanding of their own limitations make them good conversationalists. This is one breezy chat with an advertising account management professional who speaks her heart out - without holding back on any issue. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Don't be taken in by 'seemingly' - He has a calm and collected kind of expression, and yet our guest talks about the time when it wasn't. The second part of the conversation gets into his personal understanding, acceptance and wisdom which arose from his study and experiences of life. It takes a rare kind of person to acknowledge things rationally and look at them with reflection. A beautiful kind of chat which makes one reflect on one's own behaviour patterns. Do check this out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
It is rare to find a calm person delving deep into his reasons for being non-reactive most times. Our guest talks about his personality, his reasons for being rational and not overtly emotional, while being surrounded by many who do not think like him. He also chats with us about his career, his understanding, his growth opportunities in management, and his letting go of those, without being 'virtuous' about his value system. A very engaging kind of conversation, especially provocative for those in leadership roles and senior management. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
'Mental health' is a strong term used far more frequently than before. It is a serious term, and best used by professionals who understand it. In this chat, however, the guest talks about the pressures she imposed upon herself, and 'felt imposed upon' by the society regarding her academics and her professional choices. The beauty of her sharing is she speaks about the leap of faith, and her confidence in herself, her relationship with her parents when she spoke about her confusion, her ability to transcend the immediate and pause enough to see the light at the end of the tunnel as well. This conversation will lend strength to many facing such times in life. Do hear this concluding part of the chat. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In a world which defines your options, what do you do when you do not like any of them? What if your option is to pause and reflect? At any stage of your academic or professional career, what happens when this becomes your mind-set? We have a guest who shares with us, her painful journey of getting off the beaten path, and through all kinds of obstacles, including her own space of confusion and despair, manages to make it to live a life of meaning. A journey which will resonate with most students and many of us, who choose a professional path not of our liking. What an incredibly honest sharing we have, in the first part of this provocative chat. Do check out the video on www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Once again, the chat takes over a form which both I and the guest have no control over. Many incomplete sentences which make complete sense, a mind-space which is more exploratory than planned, and we find words to express thoughts which are nascent, new, novel and hold more meaning in between them than in them. Sounds intriguing? It isn't - surprisingly, it is a breezy, easy kind of conversation and the space it creates could be at best called a pause in the busy humdrum of our lives. We talk mind, body, food, sacredness, and practicality among other things. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Leaving behind a profitable journey, she went back to the villages. Our guest speaks about her fears, her joys, her efforts, her failures and her subsequent change-of-heart-and-fortune. She also speaks of her psoriasis and how adopting an alternative lifestyle helped her reduce its impact on her body and confidence. A short chat, but with many triggers for contemplation. Check it out. For the video, please check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A chat where we cover emotions of all kinds and their repercussions on our body. The idea is to gain knowledge and understanding - and in turn, use it to live a better and a more fulfilling life. Our guest, who is an Emotional Intelligence Expert, talks about the impact our constant need for happiness has on us. It is an interesting, eye-opening, revealing kind of chat which throws lights on how one needs to reflect on one's physical and mental health by understanding emotions. Even what we perceive as negative emotions are actually needed for us to perform at our best. Many such radical thoughts in here. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A transparent, honest straight-from-the heart conversation with someone who loves Nature, sees divinity in humans, plants and animals - and the Gods too. Clarity means holding your own, even as you continue growing, changing and still retaining something essential, as our guest proves with our words and deeds. She talks about self-empowerment as well as belief in a higher self, dukkha and ability to see positive, knowing, acknowledging, doing and a lot more, all in the same breath. It is a power-packed chat. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A photographer who wasn't. A man who lost his parents and didn't. A journey which isn't what it looks like on the surface. A conversation which goes from personal to professional, and back seamlessly. A friendship, a relation and a work-connection come up in my talk with this amazing professional with a strict work ethic and a warm heart. Sounds contradictory? It isn't when you check out this extremely provocative chat. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
It is rare to find an absolutely everyday conversation, which goes in depth into the trials and tribulations of one's professional life. But here we have a Doctor who honestly answers questions with clarity but also retaining the conflict and contradictions in his answers. Truly, a beautiful mind, which does not take credit, but is trying to understand one's positives and negatives, without being judgemental. We speak in our local language (Hindi) in this one. A superb talk, check this out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We discuss normality, or what 'seems' to mean normal and realise the limitation of the word. As the guest discusses her personal history, we try and lay it as a background for the human condition. Our need for security, or the comfort zones we create are also talked about. Here, we observe the fact, that in spite of being two separate individuals with absolutely differing life-journeys, the concerns and the needs, the doubts and the 'being unsure' parts remain similar. What a short, sweet reminder of the human condition and our frailties, and in acknowledging them, we realise our strength. What an awesome conclusion to a deeply moving chat. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A guest who is continuously discovering herself and in the process has been to Indonesia, Istanbul, Sahara Desert, and travelled till she has reached India. She has been here for a while and is still continuing the search. However, thanks to her varied experiences, she has used these outward manifestations to go within. In a way, this is only the background for the chat that follows. I ask and share my truths as we go along and she has a fascinating life, as she describes the huge challenges she has faced. What a guest, what a woman, and above all, what a human being. Check out this story of resilience. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Somewhere there are two words used in this episode, 'Compassionate communication'. Something within me went quiet and totally at peace relating to this phrase and many other paths it led to. We spoke of parenting, dealing with each other's growing spaces and not knowing what lies ahead, problems and much more. A deeply introspective take on many things can be heard here. Don't miss it. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Being introspective about the simplest things in life is hardly easy, and when you have a couple doing it together, then the questions get really interesting. In this conversation, we land up talking about many things, starting with the loaded question, 'Who are you?'. If I thought it would trip my guests, it didn't. They laughed and answered me differently - and I could see the yin and yang of life being brought alive in the way they talked about things, dark and light. Do check out this amazing chat. For more conversations, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
So much happens in this conversation - I talk about finding the middle path in the area of mainstream education and our guests continue to explain how not every lesson needs to be taught. We also chat about how to discuss our problems with kids (you read that right!) and allow their wisdom to guide us. Their lack of filters helps their honesty shine on the solutions which we may miss as adults. True Gurus, these two guests...I am glad to have spoken to them. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In this conversation we have two teachers who talk about teaching methodology in a passionate, humbling, informative and 'unsure' but clear manner. Confusing? On the contrary, it is their clear mind which reflects openly on parts they are still 'learning', their ability to live with moments of rewiring themselves and the ability to hold an independent world view, even as their own loved ones may have doubts on their path. What a joy to be doing this chat on 'Guru Poornima'. Do check out this highly engaging conversation. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Some of the best lessons are intent and observation based. It is not as hands-free an approach as we think. It seems to work well for our teachers here - who have the patience to wait for the learners to rasp the lessons on their own. This sense of ownership towards knowledge goes beyond information. What a fascinating chat this is. Do check out the last part here. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
It takes a lot of hard work, discipline and an immense amount of effort to achieve anything substantial. Right? Well, our teacher-guests seem to have a different point of view here. They think it is not necessary to force learning - unless it is absolutely required. They run a school and often interact with parents - so quite a few methods of discussion, points of view are talked about in this part. Like a good lesson, this chat grows on you. Do check out this part. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In the first part of this episode, we talk to two educators who decided they wanted to offer an alternative way of learning. And, well, they are teachers through and through. They answer all my questions with patience and extreme clarity. The fun part is, not only are the questions unscripted, the answers seem un-texbook-like too. We discuss parenting, education, outlook of life when one lets go of fixed perspectives, and simply observe. What a genuinely fun lesson, oops, conversation it is :) Do check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The journey of exploring the path of knowledge continues with this part. Among many things I found fascinating, the part where our guest talks about the rubik cube example, the goal setting and the variables which go along with the results, seemed right on top. But even more than that, I found myself loving the intersection of science and inner search merging seamlessly - and no, we haven't used those terms in the conversation. I am glad to have found a brilliant conversationalist here. Check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
It is rare to have an episode where I am so entranced by the guest's answers that I have to think up questions with more deliberation than always. This chat covers curiosity, knowledge, exploration, the present system of education, the attempt of our guest to see it from a different view-point, explanation into the what and the why of learning and creating an ambience where life is 'learning by doing'. A fascinating, wondrous look at many things. I loved it. Check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The security of knowledge is a happy one since we have control over things - or so it seems. Our guest pulls the rug from under my feet when he explains the need to do away with control or being sure of knowledge. He specifies that understanding is a continuous process and you do not arrive at a final goal or purpose. Scary? Well, for me, it was a happy chat. Check out the last part. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
When asked to describe himself, 'I love to inquire life and understand Nature, in different variations.' That in a line, is what this conversation is about. We explore ways of thought, understanding of things and words, and seem to flow easily from one query to another. The answers I get are anything but usual, and yet they are so ordinary that I am forced to laugh at their simplicity and depth - it is this kind of happy space this chat comes about. Do check out this first part. Radical? Simple? You decide. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In this conversation, we talk about the courage one needs to acknowledge one's vulnerability. The times when we feel exposed to ideas, events, people which we had not planned for - or, if we did, they have turned out different than what we were ready for, are the times which check our worth, our value system and our core. Our guest uses a term 'moments of shattering' and how life trips us when they are least expected. So much covered - in such a short time. Check out this wonderful chat. For videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Our guest uses the word 'sadness' a couple of times, but strangely, it seems to be a positive in the way she uses it. She talks about negative as a necessity to understand the 'whole experience'. She speaks of introspection in a way seldom spoken. It is a beautiful reminder of the depth of learning and wisdom which lie within experiences which may challenge us, shake us, provoke us in our most vulnerable moments. What a chat - what a guest! Don't miss it. For videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A practical chat about a corporate professional who went off the rid to teach Mathematics to the underprivileged. It is inspiring to know such stories, but we decided to go behind the story and understand the mind of this individual who has been walking his chosen path for many years now and continues to do so with a sense of ease. We could all learn from this. Motivating conversation, this. Do check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
She has done things as per convention - graduated, got a successful banking job, started a family and is now a homemaker. But what I find unconventional - and she might disagree is her approach to life. It is simply a journey of seeking. She seems to be in the self-inquiry mode more often than not. It is a beautiful chat... impromptu but not superficial, quickly arranged but perhaps many years have gone in the studying of these processes, readily available but not as easy as it seems. I loved it. You will too. Do check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We speak to a young professional about dealing with many issues which challenge value systems. @richa_schoudhary has a wise head on her shoulders and discusses her beliefs, and the strength she gets from her trust. She speaks about her reading different sources of information and spirituality, which inspire her to walk her chosen path. A fascinating chat, this. Check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Often, when we are in the thick of things, we forget the bigger picture. This part of the chat covers the perspective change. We discuss what happens when a microbiologist decides to become part of the entertainment industry, how does the connect happen for her between two hugely different fields. We also converse about how things are done by us, and yet they sometimes seem to happen on their own. We keep flowing and then suddenly, events and experiences have 'happened' - whether to us, or by us - or even sometimes, through us. Sounds provoking? It was. Check out how it worked. For more conversations, check www.youtube,com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We are back after a short break - and what a start this is, with this fantastic episode. We have an Event Manager with an academic background in Microbiology. This is however only the tip of the iceberg. As she shares her thoughts, I realised there is so much depth one can have when tackling with regular issues at work. Systems have their place, and I probe her on what happens when they don't work. She answers without batting an eyelid, and I sense the idea of method sits comfortably in this lady's mind along with acceptance of 'things being unsure'. Sounds like a good chat? It was. Check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.co/c/thevaluesworkshop
Life does not go according to plan. But here we have a guest who tries to be prepared and structured more often than not. She chooses her words carefully as I probe into her mind, trying to understand how things work - or not - for her. She is honest enough to admit life trips her too, but also goes to explain how people around her, loved ones and others influence her, as much as her own internal struggles to arrive at the 'right' way to be. A practical soul-searching kind of conversation, this. I enjoyed every bit of it. Check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
This conversation has us probing the mind of a clear-headed, determined young man, who is discovering his place in the world. He talks about his aspirations, his generation, his outlook of the differences between the last generation and the present one, his sense of ethics and things he would perhaps never do. What a time to be young! What a thought-provoking way with words our guest has, and above all, the disarmingly honest and transparent way with which he tackles the questions is a joy to listen to. Do check this one out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Our professions demand the most of us, in time, attention and effort. Yet, the person we are remains the same - demanding acknowledgement, respect, credit. This might involve being heard, understood and accepted. Our guest is a HR professional from Iran, but what she speaks about is as human and universal as it gets. She talks about truth, careers, difficulties at work and even personal issues and the problems they create for us in our professional lives. Expertise and empathy are both embedded in her thinking process and it shows. Do check out this beautiful and enriching conversation. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We discuss wisdom, its responsibility, the idea of dealing with normal - and what is 'normal', surrender, the adjusting to the lack of control, our guest's way of dealing with difficult situations, the importance of self-seeking through your experiences, understanding your body and being sensitive to its signs, the concept of labels given to experiences for easy identification. What an amazing talk this is. Do not miss any of the parts. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We talk about fear, lack of control, anxiety, the presence of an 'all-good' energy, our understanding of personal history and how it impacts us. We also discuss how we have so many personas in our own selves - and which one is the complete picture. Our guest is pursuing a doctorate on a subject which is close to this thought process. He discusses good, bad and whatever other ideas which arise in the mind. As intense as the earlier part, it is a genuinely thought-inducing conversation. Do have a look. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
This is one of the deeper discussions we have had on the podcast. The guest has free-flowing and simple, yet fairly deep answers to the questions, allowing me the liberty to ask questions which I cannot ask easily. We talk about the need to have a self-image of sorts, the need to compartmentalise knowledge, zen, a subject called 'othering', where we look at the divisions among us rather than the unifying singular point and many, many other interesting things. Don't miss it at all. This one is provocative - and how. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Our guest takes us through his journey of slowing things down, leaving a good position in the USA, and coming back home to find a changed scenario. He talks about his family, his friends, the lack of vindication, changing homes across nations among other things. What a thought-provoking conversation, this is. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Parenting is difficult but so is managing a job. Many women have serious issues resolving both their need to feel satisfied about their career, and their participation in their kids' journeys. What a beautiful conversation - Elegant in its simplicity. Don't miss it. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Our guest this week is a seeker and a corporate management professional. She talks about various things - her outlook of her own clash between seeking and providing for material needs, the young generation and their clarity and opportunities, along with their complete lack of direction at times, her present outlook of work, and her life coming full circle in advertising and marketing, her practice and the role of calmness in her life. A very interesting and contemporary view of life while adhering to the best of 'Indian' thinking - well, that is how we look at it. Do check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
We speak to an excellent teacher and a concerned mother in this episode. We speaks of women and the ease with which they can multitask, adults being kids at times, the wisdom of what Covid taught each one of us irrespective of our age, how kids can handle things when trusted, the need to have faith things will work out well on their own. Quite a lot of ground, you would agree. A short chat, this. Do check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Our guest is a guy who reached the top from a humble background, a professional who quit when he was at the peak of his prowess, a family man who took a back seat from material things to pursue a new passion. Remarkably confident about his vulnerability, he speaks about the major decision he took to quit his dream job and lives to tell the tale. What a journey this semi-legal professional has had. Don't miss this. For more conversations, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

For more conversations, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Challenges are difficult to face often, especially when the mind is in a dark space. Even people closest to us might not understand at times, why we struggle with the things we do. We sound wise when we are in a good position, but the moment challenges appear, we are back to our fragile ways of reacting. In this part, our guest discusses a particularly difficult episode, and we don't leave it at the story. We go deeper in to the mind state and see the change - from fear to calm, being a conscious choice. What a wonderful end to a superlative chat. Don't miss it. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In this episode we are back with Sujatha, who was the co-creator of the initial podcasts. She is now into counselling, trying to give back to society. She has always been uninhibited in her expression, and here she talks about understanding the death of a loved one, and how it pushed her into a journey of self-discovery. It has been a tough task making peace with her grief. A worthy path, if I may say so. Do check it yourself. It is definitely worth your time. For more videos, check www.youtube.comcthevaluesworkshop
Our guest is a photographer who has an interesting journey so far. He has recently ventured into teaching photography. His matter-of-fact answers belie the wisdom and practical world-view he brings to his thinking. A wise head on these young shoulders, indeed. Don't miss this wonderful conversation. For more conversations, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
One of our most spiritual conversations yet, this chat is in a way a step-by-step guide to self-growth from a vulnerable position. What a journey, what a conversation. Unmissable, if you were to ask me. For more conversations, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
'Most times I feel a little lost.' That is how our guest answers his first question describing himself. He is a charming, intelligent and a passionate guest who describes his state of mind, his inability to stand injustice of any kind, his struggle as an empath and much more, including talking about a book all of us must read, as well as some of his strong feelings about the state of the world. Do listen in. For more conversations, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
What are the questions I will ask this particular guest of mine, mind-reader of sorts that she is? This question ran in my mind many a time, till our schedules matched for this episode to happen. Going impromptu, I have at best, the first question in my mind, a conversation starter so to speak. This freewheeling conversation with someone who weighs her words carefully and uses them with strong intent to convey a meaning beyond them, turned out to be much more interesting than I thought. Don't miss this one. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
A first for me in many ways. I chat with a pair of twins and struggle to probe questions which will help us have exposure to differing views. However, the fact that they look similar does not mean they react similarly to things. The love and the bonding is evident too and makes for a wonderful experience. The world would be a better place, if everyone would handle each other's varied personalities with so much dignity. Do have a look. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
This episode covers a lot of contemporary ground. We talk about how we change over time, our values too may evolve and how this growing up affects not only us but also those close to us. We also chat about how our values start gaining meaning when we are pushed in a corner by either events or people. An interesting episode, this. Don't miss it. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
This is an amazingly fragile kind of conversation because the guest feels she is not articulate enough and we start with looking at this assumption deeply. This track triggers off some revelations by me on the things I feel vulnerable about - just what the Doctor ordered in this kind of series. The guest has no inhibitions about sharing her vulnerabilities and strengths and the ways she is able to negotiate the difficulties she faces when in these mind-spaces. To see the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
This series begins with a couple whose personalities shine through their individuality as much as their togetherness. The way their contrasting attitudes, their mutual respect and their complementing point of view merge in this single but different conversation gives me hope we have a great series here. Do have a look. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
This one is a good mix of a practical yet thoughtful talk. Our guest discusses the state of the world as it is today, post Covid, its impact on people, the great spate of resignations, our own mental health, some hacks which help her along with what is the right way to view pressures - whether personal or professional - a lot of things to ponder over in this conversation. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
How does death impact our relationships? How does religion influence our understanding? Has Covid taught us a new lesson? Or is it that the lesson was always there and we did not 'get it'? The last episode in the series on Death has the guest overwhelmed with the depth of her own answer at least once. What a moving end to a topic which should have run forever. Don't miss it. A chat which starts on a light note, and goes deeper and deeper as time progresses. We discuss calmness, the necessity of accepting things as they are, times when there is no choice but to act, the privilege of panicking (yeah!) and many more varied points which seem as wise ways to deal with the unsatisfactory parts of life. Do check out this absolutely fascinating chat. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
As death catches you unprepared - especially when those you are close to you move into the great beyond, it hits you hard. Not only the mortality of our existence, but our context of life and how we deal with it on a daily basis. This is a short but extremely sensitive talk on a subject hard to discuss when one is overwhelmed. I think you should take time out for it. Do listen in. His voice and music are loved by many and it took me a while to get the courage to put his fame aside and allow this conversation to be normal. I guess I needn't have thought much - this has turned out to be as normal a conversation as it could be. A look into his approach to work, his initial struggle with success, his grounded way of understanding the industry and the process of creating and many other things. Here is how he discussed his vulnerability. An hour well spent I would think. Check it out. For more videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
Death comes most times unannounced and our guest talks about the little things one can take time out for when we still have our loved ones with us. She also discusses how certain factors or behaviour patterns by people close to us can irritate us during this sensitive time. Many little insights in this chat with a young wise guest. Don't miss it. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The automatic way creative ideas come to you is mainly because you get out of the way and become a nobody. This process of observation is liberating and leads to a lot of magic in the process. However, it is easier said than done. What a wonderful end to a practically deep conversation. Hope you enjoy it. Do write in and share your thoughts. Accepting loss means learning to deal with the pain without losing your sense of perspective. It allows you to contextualise the situation and probably opens up new ways of dealing with what happens. We go deeper into this 'acceptance' mindset and explore how it works. Beautifully engaging chat, this. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
In this part we talk about business, about a sense of humility in acknowledging the views other stakeholders bring to communication. Professional stories are shared, varied thought processes of how we learn how things function out there in the world - and the learning it holds for us. An interesting second part which opens up avenues for a completely different type of chat in the ones which follow. Do have a look. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
An advertising, films and event company experience helps us have an interesting conversation with a guest who talks about how his mindset helped him keep his learning aptitude alive through the years. While all our chats on death are thought provoking, this one is quite beautiful in the way it unravels how we relate to life (the living), our perceptions, the impact it has on us as living beings when we miss those who we love. Quite a wonderful conversation, this. Makes you think. Check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
How does one live life afresh every day? Delete all your notions whether they are given by others or are your own. Let the past go, adopt what is useful and let go. Wise words indeed by our guest in this incomplete talk due to internet issues. We shall surely have him again some time...let us see when that happens. For now, check out the last part. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
'Even in the unknown, I do not feel fear, I feel curiosity. Almost like a child does.' He talks about animals being extremely shy, and questions the need to fear them. We have an extremely unusual guest in this episode. One which lives in forests by choice, and prefers that life to that of living in the city. He says he finds the choice to living with his vulnerability makes him sensitive and in a way, keeps him far from what he calls the 'dead' or the 'second-hand' life. A wise guest indeed, making several points worth pondering. Take time out for this and gift yourself some contemplation. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
'Thinking aloud' is the way we do all these podcasts. And this one exemplifies what we are trying. Our guest discusses the relevance of talking about Death, her experiences with losing loved ones, the wisdom she gained from allowing herself to experience it the way she wanted and so much more. An engaging chat, this. For the video, check www.youtube/c/thevaluesworkshop
How does one deal with failure? Work sometimes seems like an escapism...and our guest delves into different aspects of how she learnt from this, and also about how she opened herself to different kinds of feedback post her meditation - and was willing to educate herself about her plusses and shortcomings. She also talks about the importance of laughing at one's own self and not taking life too seriously. A great conversation comes to an end with this part. Do listen in. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
'Asking yourself difficult questions is the tool we all need' is one of the suggestions which stays with me from this chat. The other parts of the conversation include her personal challenges about making money, handling family responsibility during a particularly difficult time, choosing an offbeat path for a career, and many more interesting stories which reveal to us the truth of the adage 'Adversity builds character'. What a conversation this is turning out to be. Don't miss it. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
An alumni of Bits Pilani, here we have an amazingly confident guest, who shows us the darker side we all have to face sometimes. It is truly a blessing to have a guest who is willing to tell us real stories of being unsure and failing with a smile on her face. She talks about how people change, how circumstances challenge us and how she came out of her particular issues. A wonderful beginning to a superb conversation. Do check it out. It is astonishing to see the amount of open-mindedness our guests show on the episodes. This one is raw and human in its fragility and goes pretty deep. The unscripted nature of the talks have another advantage...we have no idea when an insightful point of view throws us off gear. At times, this particular talk is almost 'thinking aloud' repeating some of our deepest vulnerable parts. Do listen in. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The young woman we speak to, is quite wise at understanding a bit of life. This chat opens up an aspect of student-hood not easily understood or explained by many teachers or even the students themselves. She has not only defined the problem for herself but also finds a universal truth across ages. It is indeed heartening to hear such clarity in someone so young. Do not miss this part. Enjoy. The mind is a great friend...but when it works against oneself, it can actually create quite a mess. Our guest admits the weird situations her mind leads her to, on dark days. So how easy is it to be kind to oneself on a day when you are simply fighting your own self? We delve deep to figure out how to work with our own self on such days - and that is only the beginning of the chat. Do check out this interesting conversation. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
The introduction of the guest itself becomes a loaded question and leads us to discuss how we can define ourselves...does it limit our selves or are there some ways which indicate some part of who we really are? _ushua_ has been with us before as the first guest in the youth series...and her depth of thought is certainly evident...check it out. A creative freewheeling chat this. The questions and answers might match or not at times, but what does stand out is the depth of thought which our guest brings. This is unlike any discussion I have had before, and often the long answers had me stumped because the topic went on becoming wider with every sharing. Do check out this chat with a cartoonist, artist, writer - all in one. You will enjoy this. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop
One of the most candid and sensitive chats on the series on Death. A short chat, but not short on covering some essential thoughts on the subject. Do check it out. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

A measured, quieter and much contemplative conversation, this. Do check it out. For the videos, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

We go younger in this episode. A 22-23 year old starts talking about death and opens up about losing not one, but two different close family members. His take is measured, and dare I say, wise, as he grapples with something none of us seem to have easy answers for. Each episode seems to be revealing an inner world I am blessed to be part of, even if for a brief while. Thank you to the participants, and to you, the listeners, who respond with so much feeling. Do hear and share. May all be peaceful and happy. For more such talks, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop.com

So here we are with the second series. After much contemplation, and a whole lot of luck, this is the series I seem to have chanced upon. The guests have chosen to be anonymous and in turn, this has led to a serious depth and varied flavours to each conversation in this series. Success is what we all yearn for, work for and are willing to sacrifice a lot of things to reach our desired destination, but often we may realise the fun of the journey, slowing down, pacing oneself might be much more useful in the long haul. It may require us to move our eyes off the goal for some time. Sounds ridiculous? Maybe not. Check what we spoke about here. For the video, check www.youtube.com/c/thevaluesworkshop

As a writer, he takes us through the ups and downs of his working, which is way beyond the romantic version of a creative job, as most think. He also talks about how it affects his daily life, and his inability to live the moment, because of the nature of his job, his deep involvement and understanding of the eco-system he operates in. Personally, I enjoy this modern practical nature of the conversation especially because it is a 'lived reality' for our guest. Engaging and absorbing chat, this.
