Unlabeled: The Podcast: Recent Episodes

Isabelle

I don’t know about you, but I'm tired of all of the elephants in all of the rooms. We live in a world where we project this image of perfection and happiness, while all we do is compare ourselves. Deep down we know there is no such thing as perfect, so why are we obsessed with it? Through my music I get to share things that are very personal. Here, I’ll get a chance to share my thoughts and feeling with you through discussion, and I'll address things happening all around us that are usually swept under the rug. Get ready for intimate conversations with special guests who will open up to you and talk real-life issues, and we'll discover just how important perspective can be. This is all about exposing that what we feel on the inside is often so opposite of what we project on the outside. This is raw, this is uncensored, this is Unlabeled.Instagram: @IsabellemusicFacebook: www.Facebook.com/isabelle.musicWww.Isabellemusic.com

However, she wasn’t always taken ‘seriously’. She had to pave her way and fight for respect in the unforgiving music industry...yet she still feels the devil of comparison at her back.

It is really unfortunate to me that so many of us don't understand our own bodies....
For those of you who don' know, I have always struggled with my weight. I grew up with an unhealthy relationship with food (still a struggle) along with PCOS. (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

I was told to go on every pill, do every quick fix, but I never understood why it never worked. I always felt like I was missing something. Our bodies are all a la carte, we cannot all be on the same plan because it won't work the same for everyone. So what do we do?

Meet  certified health coach and Why Not Wellness owner Courtney Titus. The woman who made me realize that I had to follow my gut to understand that my body would never fit a formula and I had to find out what worked for ME!

Zealyn is a force. She is’t one of those artists that follows the crowd, she stands all on her own with music that you hear and never forget. As second runner up on American Idol, she is one of the few who didn't let the weight of the show bring her down. Zealyn figured out the artist she wanted to be and was relentless.

On the brink of her newest EP "A Weekend in Maine" (May 17th), we talk about how everything from Idol on, has led her to now and how sometimes you have to go your own way.

Writing music wasn't always easy for me...but then I met Jean Marc Tardieu and Tanja Utunen - two incredible storytellers. Session after session, they helped me get out what I really wanted to say in my songs.

Find out what drives us to make good music and why I don't put out every song we write. Fear can be the greatest tool in helping move forward in anything you want to do...you just have to look it in the face over and over again and as nike would say..."just do it."

"The Joke is on them"

If I listened to any of the people who told me I wasn’t capable, I wouldn’t be doing what I love. The worst part is, on top of all the doubt we receive from other people, we also have to deal with self doubt which can be crippling.

Do what makes you happy, hustle and work hard quietly, because trust me, taking the energy to tell people you are working hard is time wasted, take the time and put it into building.

I want to talk about perception. There is so much importance placed on what we look like on the outside, what social circle we appear to be in, and how  we “look” like we are doing, but what’s REALLY going on on the inside?
