We think silence means we don't care. But then again, most people we know do not know what true silence is. Learn what silence truly is, frees you from your need for others to like you, to feel you have to have a specific job or make a certain amount of money.

It shows you your inner child, which is really the fun part of yourself you don't trust and forgot a long time ago. Play is an act of the gods, the peaceful ones. But we forgot that, didn't we?

You seek to feel safe inside so you play by the rules. People call out the rules but they soon forget their rebellion threw them into other camps with new rules.

How do we win, then? Silence isn't a rule. It's a place of rest. To know yourself, to free yourself and to listen.

A few nuggets from today's episode:

  • Why it's time for healers to rise up (and how to know if you're ready to serve)
  • The true definition of silence (and how to see if it's present in your own life)
  • How to recognize your own wounding (and address it before you heal others)
  • And more...

Thanks for being here and sharing your light,

Lalita

This is a fun episode folk!

There was a time not so long ago, about 7 months to be exact, that I was in a state of constantly fighting everything in front of me. You might think that fighting is likened to fists in the air and physical violence.

Fighting can easily be linked to any degree of not accepting your current reality. So when my neighbor verbally attacked me and being single (how did she know this) in the hallway, it was a chance to choose a new way.

It's possible to learn a new communication style (i.e. not fighting) and still stand in your power. I didn't get this for a long time.

Fighting is a stance. A way of communicating.

And like all stances and communication styles, they can change.

Key points:

  • Anything that we resist, even in our minds, is a version of a fight.
  • Avoidance is a fight, attacking is a fight. Anything that we are not able to accept fully is a version of fighting what is.
  • Like the swan, meet things with absolute grace and elegance.
  • Elegance comes from within, It comes from a stance and a posture.
  • And more!

As always, thank you for listening. You could be anywhere and you're here listening to me sing in a closet. Thank you.

I've been known to want to jump, leap, and be the hero many times in my life and over the course of countless projects and initiatives.

The expectation of overnight success is rooted in this belief that if one big step is taken-- in this case the passing of day to night -- that with enough talent and specialness, we can make it ahead of the line, be acknowledged for our uniqueness and thrive. Finally "make it".

This isn't how it often works. The real bravery and test of faith lays in the small steps that plant seeds each step of the way until one day you look back behind you, ten years down the road, and see you've planted a forest.

Trees don't grow overnight. And neither do you (or the projects you care about). The good news about this is that you have time.

Key points:

  • How can your past signals and signs help pave your path forward (when you look for them)?
  • Your dreams are yours. Fewer people than you think are applying for your dreams.
  • Dreams always whisper to us.
  • Bravery is rooted in faith. Not blind hope. True faith.
  • We’re given visions and that can be terrifying, It might look so far away.
  • The right direction is the next step.
  • We demand and ask our dreams to prove themselves to us and that they’re not lying.
  • Small steps require presence and faith.
  • Dreams are directions, not destinations.
  • We fear so much that the things we’ve been promised in our hearts are not true that we almost sabotage the possibility of them ever happening by never giving ourselves the chance to take small steps.
  • And more!

As always, thank you for listening. You could be anywhere and you're here listening to me sing in a closet. Thank you.

“Others” are frequently experienced as different and often seen through the lens of fear.

What's so miraculous to me too is how miserable people frequently are and yet, in true human form :), experience terror at the thought of someone or something new coming along and changing their lives, their sense of security and who they think they are.

What if the change brought miracles into your life? What if the new person, place, or thing bore gifts?

This has tripped me up countless times where fear in general blocks my ability to see the gift in front of me.

We are so often not any of what we believe ourselves to be. And when we root our identity prominently as different and adamantly fear those who look, talk, act and BE different than who we believe ourselves to be, this creates a polarized tension of conflict and fighting.

Inside and outside.

It's not solid ground for harmony, trust, truth, or realizing the truth of our own God-given nature which is harmony. Which is connection.

Different isn't. Different isn't even good. It's just different!

Key points:

  • Why are we so quick to assert our identity as being different from others?
  • What’s the extent of your friendships with people who are different from you? What’s the extent of vulnerability on both sides?
  • Friendship is more powerful than the need to be different.
  • If we can create common ground... if we can on a human level and words and energy recognize and create that space of connectedness… we naturally seek to protect ourselves. Thus, those that we see as similar to us we will also seek to protect and take care of them.
  • All of the languages you can speak, the language of the heart is probably the most important. It gets to the essence.
  • The flower is an expression of the seed and we are all born of seeds.
  • All flowers, all people, are rooted in the same soil. Whether they, you, realize it or not.
  • So much of what we consider of others are our own narratives in which we respond to people and specific places and things.
  • And more!

As always, thank you for listening. You could be anywhere and you're here listening to me sing in a closet. Thank you.

Change need not be scary and yet we as a human race, repel and resist it.

Don't you think you resist change?

How have you dealt with Corona? With your daily fix at Starbucks being stifled for weeks and months on end? Or what about not being able to go into an office and being invited to learn a new tool like Zoom?

Change happens constantly and we're often so caught up in changing that we resist and deny where this change is leading us. We don't see that-- like a chessboard of our lives--we're being moved, positioned, and taken somewhere.

Change is a journey of acceptance and degrees of shade, grey and blue.

The shade you throw and rest in.

Grey, you'll never know the answers to and why.

And blue for the sadness and mourning and truth that comes from this.

How do you deal with change says everything about your faith in life and yourself.

Key points:

  • The future is defined now, in small acts of bravery.
  • If you're going through a period where everything externally is being put on pause... when these things show up and you move through it, what will you wish you had the bravery to do, be say or experience, now?
  • If change is a constant, how we confront these moments dictate very much so the seeds that are sewn and flowers that blossom in the years to come.
  • How we deal with change differs on who you are and what you've experienced.
  • Inner freedom allows for external freedom.
  • And more!

As always, thank you for listening. You could be anywhere and you're here listening to me sing in a closet. Thank you.

Why are we seen as lazy, guilt-ridden, and unproductive when we choose to slow down, listen to our bodies, and rest during a "work" day?

What is the greater and deeper fear behind slowing down and resting?

What is our resistance to rest really indicating?

And why is there such guilt and shame when we slow down and take care of ourselves?

Key points:

  • What is it about a metaphorical pause that we so resist?
  • Naps are not seen as power moves in western culture. Naps can be seen as power moves when authority is already established.
  • There's peace and knowing that we can truly create a lifestyle that serves us.
  • How is the desire to control your image related to choosing extreme lifestyles? Culturally and individually?

And more!

Light is required to see. And this means that for us to see even into the darkest and most dismal of situations, the places that feel truly hopeless, there must be light. Thus, the mere presence of what we look at is embued with hope, faith and a turn for the better. How? Why? Listen and find out.

Key points:

  • To see anything requires light to be present.
  • You can only see in others what exists in you. Period.
  • Lighteness is an attitude, a state and unwillingness to carry what isn't yours.
  • It's safe to trust being lighthearted in a world that promotes heavy.
  • And more!

There are 1 million reasons we can find in how we are different, which often brings about fear. The idea of other looms over us and clouds our ability to really hear, listen, and understand what someone else is saying. It stops our ability to connect with people we'd probably love if we took the time to listen.

Key points:

  • What 16+ years of traveling and living abroad has taught me
  • How speaking 5+ languages helps me listen beyond words
  • What communist Cuba and non-gendered bathrooms showed me about change
  • How to trust and speak from your heart
  • How to learn from those that appear different from you
  • And more..

As always, thank you for listening. You could be anywhere and you're here listening to me sing in a closet. Thank you.

There's no shortage of running around attempting to do the next fantastical feat of "ma, look at me, I did it!". It's all over the internet. And deeper than that, it's seeped into the pores of our soul giving us grimy black heads. Listen to this episode to learn a few ways home to Self in whatever moment you feel trapped.

An inability to rest, to slow down, and to listen to what's being shared is a sign of soul sickness. A spirit that cannot rest speaks of imbalance at a deep level. What stirs in you? How can you use this time during Corona and beyond to deeply listen, trust and hear what's being said?

Not from the news not from George Bush or whoever is on TV these days (kidding kids), or from TikTok. No, from you. And the living force that guides the stars in the skies. There's a message if you're willing to listen.

Key points:

  • The difference between quarantine and imprisonment is perspective.
  • If something is being invited to leave your life, resistance is fighting with whatever you perceive is taking it from you.
  • Acceptance is a willingness to be present and say ok, what can I do right now that will move me forward in a way that feels better than I felt two seconds ago?
  • How your heart feels matters. How you feel matters. And most importantly, rest.
  • And more!

If I had a dollar for every single time someone spouted "victim mentality" in the self-help community, there would be absolutely 0 requirement for me to ask folks to pay me. I'd make millions off that alone. And shall!

In today's episode, however, that's part of what I'm addressing. Nobody told me what it meant to be a victim after true victimhood. Meaning, at one point some really crappy things probably happened to you (or for you, which takes time to learn and there's no rush).

You were a victim. And now what? Years later, we often complain about the stench of what has now become our own sht, often citing everyone else as the reason for the smell. And that's what this episode is about. The worthiness within you to heal.*

Because real talk: ain't nobody comin' to clean up your mess. How do you know it's your mess? Because you're the one that sees it! So get to it!

Key points:

  • You more than anyone if can you hear me somewhere in your heart, you’re worth your own healing. Know it’s a journey.
  • Mija. No one is going to clean your mess up for you except you.
  • You are worth your own healing. You are worth your own peace. \How much have you invested in your healing, darling?
  • I know what it’s like to be high without being high. And that’s the truth.
  • I care less about the past brags because the state of my soul and spirit were in such a traumatized state.. would I ever encourage someone to go create that if they were under such tremendous pain? Probably not.

As always, thank you for listening. You could be anywhere and you're here listening to me sing in a closet.

Thank you,
