Client relationships are tricky, especially as an entrepreneur. I wish there were strategies for us, Corporate Misfits, to use to help us get along with every client we have. When you think about revenue for your business, it can be tempting and natural to want to do everything you can to preserve those relationships indefinitely.
Though we want to save our client relationships, sometimes we have to let the client that is not serving our business well go.
At some point, it doesn't matter how much money you're making if you're miserable; and if you or your team do not enjoy dealing with your client, this can cause chaos and loss of money. Here are my tips to help you know when it's time to fire a client in your business.

Delegation doesn't come naturally for many entrepreneurs. When you build and lead a business, you’ll be wearing many hats. You’ll have to play the role of a salesperson, an innovator, a financial manager, and leader while you still have to deal with routine micro-tasks throughout the day. Lisa built her first business at the age of 50. She was working in her favorite job, doing ad sales for a small local newspaper, when the paper decided to close. I learned the following principals and method from one of my favorite books Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
So if you’ve been struggling to turn your desires into reality then this episode will help you make a 180 the approach you are taking.

- What is Desire and why is it important?
- Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire.
- Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as “Something for nothing.”)
- Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.
- Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
- Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to the acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.
- Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. As you read–see and feel and believe yourself already in possession of the money.

Many of us place multi-tasking on a pedestal. We think by checking our emails, IG notifications, and scheduling client calls all within an hour, it will help us to be more productive.
Mult-tasking actually does the complete opposite.
Switching between tasks can make you up to 40% slower, which causes inefficiency.

In this episode, I'm talking all about Imposter Sydrome. Many entrepreneurs experience the unwanted emotion lurking, just waiting to rise to the surface to override our hard work. It’s an ugly feeling that impacts the best of us from time to time. If you allow it, this unwelcome emotion can completely derail your mental and emotional strength, bringing your business to a paralyzing halt (Trust me, I've experienced it one too many times).
So, you’ve done well for yourself. Taking a quick glance at your experience and looking at that long list of accomplishments. All signs point towards success. You look good on paper.
Now, wait....
Accomplished. A proven authority. However, there’s this tightness in the chest that hints at an entirely different conclusion. It even causes you to start questioning yourself because you're worried that others will think you are a fraud.
Are you sitting there listening to this silently, nodding your head in agreement? I know right?!
The term Imposter Syndrome was coined and introduced to the world in 1978 by Dr. Pauline R. Clance and Dr. Suzanne A. Imes. This term means a psychological pattern in which individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a "fraud".

AN EX 9-5’ER TURNED FULL-TIME CREATIVE, EDUCATOR, AND BUSINESS COACH.
A few years ago, Joyce was in desperate need of a creative outlet from her tech and advertising job. After some trial and error - seriously she tried all the things including a crafting blog with her dog Pancake - She found calligraphy and became obsessed with all things lettering.
2015 brought on a layoff from that “stable” job life and it lit a fire in her. She knew the next job would be last because I was no longer going to allow someone else to have a say in such a large part of her life - her income and livelihood. Plus, let’s be real - her day job was not her jam.

When looking to go into the world of entrepreneurship, it’s important that you know yourself. I’m sure many of you have the burning desire to be your own boss or invent something new. That’s a good sign, but it’s not enough to go into entrepreneurship.
I believe that before you actually proceed with the start-up procedures, you should take time to prepare yourself for what is going to happen. Starting a business will seem easy compared to the steps that follow starting a business, which is making the business work.
Here are the questions in today’s episode to ask yourself before starting a business and going into entrepreneurship:
- Am I ready for this?
- Can I handle the responsibilities?
- Do you have the motivation to succeed?
- Who?
- Who are your potential customers?
- Who are your competitors?
- Who are your potential employees?
- Who will be my investors, partners, or company officers?
- What?
- What is your product or service?
- What compensation do you offer?
- What benefits can you offer?
- What sources of help are available to you?
- Where?
- Where will I buy or lease an office, store, warehouse, etc.?
- Where will I get start-up funding?
- Where do I want to be in the next year, five years?
- Why?
- Why should you go into business in the first place?
- Why do you want to serve this potential audience?
- When?
- When should you start our business?
- When will you find time for family and friends?
- When will you find time to build your business?
- How?
- How will I promote my business and product/service?
- How much start-up capital will I need?
- How do I manage my business?
So I hope this helps you on your journey to starting your own business and becoming an entrepreneur.

Today, I want to talk about something that scares the heck out of aspiring and new entrepreneurs.
What might that be?
Niching down your audience.
Some entrepreneurs believe that if they target everyone they have a better chance of making sales and getting their products and services out into the world, rather than narrowing down their audience.
When I ask business owners who their target market is, many tend to respond with “everyone”. The translation is no one. Many business owners try to serve the widest market possible.
This is a huge mistake.
In today’s episode, I want to share the benefits of working with your niche audience.
Here are a few reasons as to why it’s important in business to identify your customer niche:
- You are able to understand the struggle of a smaller group of “like” individuals
- Speak directly to them “they will feel like you are reading their mind”
- Attract and connect with similar consumers through content
- Not to mention target marketing to save mega money
Honestly, there are way more benefits, that outweigh the cons!
How do you find your specific customer niche?
Let’s talk about something a little scary. Not only do you want to ATTRACT your perfect customer but you want to REPEL people who are NOT a good fit for your business.
Believe me, you want to repel people! I know, I know. You are thinking, but I just need to make a sale!
Trust me, you want to repel people that are not a good fitfor your business and tend to have traits similar to:
- Someone that isn’t open-minded and willing to change
- Not willing to take a hard look at their business or personal life and make positive change
- Doesn’t trust you and in turn questions every step of the process
- A total slacker that doesn’t want to do the work and will not get the results (inevitably leaves negative feedback!)
So let’s get ready to niche down our audience so we can find the riches in the niches.

On today's show, I invited Renee on because as aspiring entrepreneurs, you'll experience self-doubt from time to time when looking to leave your "secure" 9 to 5. I love Renee's outlook on leaving your "secure" job to start your own business. Renee is not only passionate for, (well maybe obsessed) being an advocate for helping professionals to gain freedom and wealth via entrepreneurship.
