Do you have to go to a certain type of university to be a lawyer? Do you have to be a certain type of person to go to one of those universities? Victor Taiwo and Saif Jalali, both future trainees, share their responses to these questions. Victor’s news of rejection from his first-choice university has led to opportunities he never knew existed, and Saif has overcome personal tragedy and circumstances to dedicate himself to securing his future. Both have learned the importance of valuing the person over the institution, and of believing in yourself.
You have to study law to be a lawyer, don’t you? In this episode, we explore the answer to this question with Junior Product Manager and future IGNITE trainee Hayley Kwan. Hayley said no to convention and chose a different path. Her decision to study computer science has now allowed her to combine law and tech, using the skills obtained during her degree to bring a different perspective to her work and her team.
